Loved this place! We went on a Sunday with 6 of us. We're not from Napa, but we're visiting for a night and after a day of wine tasting, wanted a good hardy breakfast. We didn't want something super Napa fancy as we had done lots of that the day before. We looked for a good diner on Yelp, and I'm so glad we did because this place was exactly what we were looking for. It is SO cute inside, and looked like they had recently done some upgrades. The booths and chairs looked newly reupholstered, the hallways were sharply white, and it was so clean. We loved the pop of the blue upholstery, and felt they totally embraced the diner vibes. Very cute, fun, and bright color usage made it a nice environment. I ordered the Sunshine Scramble and it was absolutely delicious. I ordered an English muffin as my bread option, and it was clearly homemade which I feel is rare. I could tell it was heated on a griddle, and the homemade jam was AMAZING! I seriously wanted to buy some to take home it was THAT good. My SO ordered the breakfast burrito and he said it was really good, too! Yea, yes, yes! You will love this place. read more

I visited Sunshine Cafe with my sister and brother-in-law for breakfast the other weekend. The place is packed so I suggest you come early. We put our names down and was told the wait would be about 30 min. After 30 min had passed, we went to check our spot in line and was told it would be another 30 min. I'm not sure why the time was underestimated the first time. Anywho, by the time we sat down I was starving. My sister and I shared an order of the Corned Beef Hash & Eggs $20 and an order of Biscuits and Gravy. We were confused because when our food came, we got a gravy boat but no biscuits. I think our server got our order confused. We notified our server, but by the time the actual biscuits and gravy order came out we were pretty much already done eating. She was still pretty nice though. We each got a boozy hot chocolate to go with our food. It was ok, but I think even a plain hot chocolate would have been good. read more

The customer service is really good; my dad and the waitress both recognized each other from when they went to Vintage High . For a 25 minute wait, we got in pretty quickly and got seated. I got a tequila sunrise and their "Meat" with Benedict. Their tequila sunrise was really strong, just the way I like it - I got my money's worth with that alcohol not even halfway through our brunch! The Benedict was really salty and inconsistent with how the eggs and sausage patty were cooked. One of the eggs was poached well, but the other was overcooked and the yolk was almost hard boiled. One sausage patty was slightly overcooked and the other was slightly pink. The hollandaise sauce was good though, however. I would hope to come back here one day to try another menu item and possibly update my review. read more

It's located in a shopping center and is very unassuming in appearance. Once you get inside it's very lively with locals. The noise level is average, not too loud. There's lots of seating and it's very comfortable. The servers are very friendly and knowledgeable. I ordered the Sunshine Scramble my adorable hubby ordered the Croissant Sandwich. We decided to split an order of Terry's Biscuits and oh my word, they were heavenly. The biscuits and croissants are made fresh daily. Hubby loved his breakfast sandwich. I loved my scramble, it was very light and flavorful. We both really enjoyed the country potatoes. She recommended the Sunshine Café in Napa. I am glad we took her advice. This Café is open seven days a week and serves breakfast and lunch until midafternoon. My favorite dish was the buttery Terry's biscuits served with jam and butter ($4). The "awesome hot chocolate" did not live up to the name. It wasn't a strong chocolate flavor or particularly creamy texture. The sunshine scramble had a good amount of avocado but was nothing special and not worth nearly $20 (was $18). Same with the banana fosters french toast for $17. The combination of fresh bananas and dried banana chips was off-putting, and both types of banana left me wanting caramelized bananas like a true bananas foster. What a gem of a place! Tucked into a strip mall, Sunshine Cafe was an amazing find! We arrived ~8:30 on a Sunday morning and seated right away. I think we lucked out with the storm last night that not as many folks ventured out. We both ordered the kitchen sink scramble and it was delicious! It was a large portion and it came out very quickly. Our waitress was a kick in the pants! She was chatty, friendly, and efficient. In fact, all the staff we encountered was well organized and attentive. The gender neural restrooms also had a fun superhero theme. By the time we left, there was a wait for tables. I've been to sunshine several times and I was disappointed this last visit. 3 stars because of service. Our server did not introduce herself and was not attentive. She did not refill my coffee and was slow. I know they are busy but that doesn't mean quality of service should go down. What a great find! We had a one night stay in Napa on our way home from 10 days of traveling and wanted a nice breakfast with mimosas to close out our travels. This little gem is in a strip mall close to our hotel. First the atmosphere is positive and fun. Great pictures, fun sayings and funky decor. Even a superhero bathroom theme. Second the service a friendly and very good. Third, the food ticked all the boxes! Fresh, well prepared, good variety on the menu. Simply put, awesome! Five stars really isn't enough. I was instantly charmed by this neighborhood cafe, it's like something out of a movie! My group of 3 arrived around 10 for breakfast on Sunday, and I thought for sure we were in for a very long wait as we saw folks spilling out the door, but not even 5 minutes! The interior of this cafe is so charming, I was hypnotized by the artwork and the menu chalkboards. And don't forget to visit the bathroom! No idea why the ladies room had a superhero theme but it sure made the visit fun! The menu is expansive without being intimidating, and there are many great options no matter if you seek sweet, salty or lighter options. I opted for their petite omelet with avocado, a side of fruit and of course the house-made biscuits. I loved the omelet's simplicity with light fresh herbs, good quality cheese, and the avocado and fruit cup to balance it all out. I thought when the biscuits arrived it was 2 orders! 1 is truly plenty, and their homemade jam is a revelation. I was also delighted to see a peach bellini as a drink option, so much more unique than a mimosa. I was underwhelmed though, the peach flavor could have been stronger. Sometimes it's best to stick with the classics. I would definitely return, and would likely try other options instead of repeaters, but the quality and experience are definitely there, and this is a great breakfast option in Napa. This place is so overpriced for the type of food they're sending out and the service they're providing. This was my third time coming to sunshine cafe and I always try to give them a chance since it's a pretty popular place, but at this point I just don't understand why they are popular in the first place. It took a while for our server just to greet us and we had to ask three times for her to bring over a fork since we were missing one. When they had finally brought us our food, my dad ordered one of their specials, molletes, that was supposed to have red salsa, as it said on the menu. Instead it was served with green salsa and when my dad had said it was supposed to come with red salsa, the manager made it a point to argue and bring over a menu only to be proven wrong, it was supposed to come with red salsa. As a manager and server, how do you not know your own menu? The huevos rancheros are more like nachos. All of their servers and host look like they don't want to be there and work so slow with no sense of urgency. As someone in the service industry, I get that you're busy but that's no excuse for poor service. If you're busy, work faster. And if someone asks you for something, get it out of the way first so you don't keep forgetting about it. Prioritize your customers and their experience. Do better. read more
