Very quick service. Ladies are friendly and it's pretty affordable ($35 for mani/pedi including tip) but the quality is a sub-par. The manicurist was too forceful when cutting my cuticles, they only do two coats, and the polish was applied unevenly. read more

I use to go to S N for mani-pedi. I stoped long time ago, becase they are always are so busy. They rush and they don't do such a good job. But I love Cindy for the waxing. I still kept going back there. But yesterday was the last time. I left with the bruse on my leg. I came here because of all the good reviews, but walking in my instinct was to walk right back out. The interior definitely needs a facelift, it was tacky and not the cleanest, they don't have a place to dry your nails but put a mini fan at your feet to dry your toes, and even some of the pedicure chairs looked like they'd been fixed with tape. They didn't have a very extensive selection of regular polishes or enough Essie colors. I luckily was seated right away even though they seemed a little busy but I was rushed through my gel polish selection and when I gave the lady the number I wanted she brought the wrong one and insisted it was right and a good color. Then she stood up and told me to decide while she walked around the salon rearranging things and presumably complaining about me to the other women. She also insisted my toes be the same color as my hands and I felt really pressured the whole time. She took her time and even did 3 color coats & when I left I was really happy with the shape of my nails.. BUT the NEXT DAY my gel polish thumbnail chipped while I was doing laundry! And a few days later my other nails started peeling as well. I get gel manicures every 2 weeks so this was really disappointing to me & I know I did nothing out of the ordinary to cause this. My pedicure looks like it's a month old and I will never let another salon talk me into an off brand color - Essie lasts the longest! I didn't have cash on me to tip her so I tipped on my card and as I left she kept muttering more things probably about me. The minimum wage is $10.75 and you're mad I left you $6 after you've been rude to me this whole time?? That's 15% lady, I work in the service industry and I regret tipping at all. She had even changed and packed her things up while my nails were finishing in the UV light and was hustling me out even though everyone else was still there. Overall I would never come back, in fact I've lived with my chipped nails for a week now until I can get home to my usual salon to have them fixed! it's alright here, my gel french tips are chipping and it's been less than a week. T_T and the lady cut into my skin with the scary motor file. there are lil bubbles that are visible when i look closely but i guess i'm just anal about it. it looked nice when she just finished it but after closer examination the white tips were crooked. I will start by saying that I'm particular about pedicures in a weird way. I want a good callus removal, and I've had a hard time finding one in SF until pretty much now. After I started my pedicure, a regular came in and started getting her feet grated. Apparently only one lady was skilled in using this tool, so I had to request this service and waited for the woman to do it. She did a decent job of this, but it also meant the other lady who was working on my feet started working on someone else and I had to wait for her to return to me. I'm not a fan of waiting once something has started, but I guess I threw off the regular customer too. The woman I had didn't speak great English and did a pretty imperfect job of painting my nails. Since painting nails seems pretty important, I'm giving 3 stars. Considering it's decently cheap ($19) for a basic pedicure with a little extra for the callus grater, I'll be back. read more

This is a good, cheap nail salon. It is not fancy. If you want scented lotions, spa music and art on the walls, don't go here. If you don't mind an old poster of a cat and you just want your nails done, it's great. I have been going here for 4 years occasionally (once every other month) and many of the same ladies have worked here for the entire time. They seem happy and they are friendly. They don't screw up the polish and they do the job quickly. read more

this place is my favorite!! i travel half way across the city, (passing up plenty of other nail shops along the way) every 2 weeks. they are that good! everything is sterilized so they have one up on all those cheap ass mission street places that will do a "Free design" from the start. you gotta request the owner lady (whose name escapes me at the moment) if you get any special paint jobs!! she's the best, just like the lady of the house should be. just don't request her while I'm there!!! The girls there are extremely friendly and what I loved most about them is that they didn't rush me out. They had me stay almost 30 mins fanning my nails dry. They even helped me put my coat back on! However, the quality of their work was not the best. My pinky nails where filed crooked and thus, my french mani was also crooked. I also went in for an eye brow waxing and my left side is much thinner and crooked compared to my right side. They also left a lot of stray hairs below my brow. read more

I usually call the same day for an appointment and have always been able to get a pedicure. My pedicures reliably last several weeks until it's time for the next one. About a few months ago I had went in asking for a full set of acrylics, when I asked for a coffin shape the lady doing my nails seemed puzzled at what that was so I had to search it up, eventually she started doing my nails after a 40 minute wait, fast forward towards the end my nails were still pretty wet and while trying to dry them she pulled out her phone and asked me to call Walgreens about some laxative type medicine, while I'm getting my nails done I really don't want to be bothered with things like this and also it's is unprofessional, While in process of doing this for her one of my nails got ruined and I asked her to fix it, she did but while doing that a pretty obvious black hair fell on my pink nail and she continued her to paint over, on top of that all my nails were uneven.. I won't ever be coming back to sunshine nails, very disappointed. I wish I could give it negative stars. read more

If you enjoy pain and getting infections, then this is the place for you. The owner Cindy is the only person there who can do actylic fills and she is as rough as a sumo wrestler! I stopped going there and have not been for 3 years out of despiraion I had to get my nails done and decided to give her a try again..... Big mistake! She was so rough I had deep cuts along the sides of my cuticle and my finger tips were so sore it took 2 weeks for them to stop hurting! BEWARE! It'snot worth it! read more

Disappointed with Sunshine nails! My family and I have been customers for years. I called for a late appointment and the receptionist stated there was enough time for me to be seen for a gel fill manicure and pedicure. The owner Cindy was on vacation and her two main technicians were working the floor. I sat in the chair and the manicurist placed both my hands in a bowl of what I thought was water to soften my cuticles, turned out to bowl of acetone. She placed a towel on top of the bowl, so I could not smell the oder from the acetone. My fingers began to tingle and then numb! When I realized both my hands were in a bowl of acetone and not water, I was perturbed at the negligence and lack of customer care the staff had for me. My skin began to withering and change color from the acetone. The technician never once stated to me that my hands were in a bowl of acetone. There is a process and protocol for taking off gel nails, which the business charges $5. I was upset and astounded at how both technicians told me I could leave if I was not happy. I left and was insulted by their negligence. My family and I will no longer support this business! read more

I have no idea why Sunshine gets 4 stars and 5 Star Nails gets only like 2. It's totally the opposite. While MOST of the ladies in this shop are very nice, especially the owner (there is one sourpuss) they employ this well-meaning but extremely old woman who seriously cannot see. She squints through her specticals to try to discern skin from nail and nearly always misses. I always used to bring my business (and my friends here) but 9 times out of 10 I would leave bleeding and scared. I am prone to an ingrown toenail but these women would make my other toes bleed! I'd leave with split nails, bloody cudicles, you name it. So the final straw was when they caused me to get a gnarly ingrown nail on a toe that had never had any issues in the past. Literally that night it was throbbing and for days after that I was having to elevate my foot, take Ibuprofin and ice my toe, still leaving me in agony. I went to 5 Star nails and they fixed it! They pulled out a shark tooth from the inner crevice where my nail meets skin. I cannot go to Sunshine anymore because they are the same price as 5 Star and 5 Star doesnt cause my nail issues and leave me bloodied and bruised. Oh and PS the fact that some of these ladies are wearing what look like 6 year old rubber gloves makes me wonder if they are only concerned for their own hygeine and not the well-being of customers or if they are covering up some gnarly nail infections on their own hands. read more

ok well let me start out by saying dont believe what ppl tell u because they are not saying the truth.well i went to this place to go get my nails acyilic and they looked really good for 5 days and then one day when i woke up the white tip was looking like this off white color and i ignored it the next day it looked a little darker and nasty it look liked i wiped my butt with my fingers because i had no toilet paper and then i tried to wash it off well the nails were really bad and u can go there to go get ur pedi butt dont get ur mani here they SUCK read more
