Came here for a gel manicure while I was in the area for work. The salon only had 1 other customer inside when I got there. The lady who did my manicure didn't speak much English, so it was challenging to communicate with her. I went in to get my pedicure. The guy did a wonderful job no problem. As I went to pay my money, the owner of the store Lisa she decides to tell me to don't forget to leave a tip. I told her I always tip I never go without tipping Michael he's a great pedicurist. No one should tell a tester to leave a tip that's a voluntary thing. read more

This is what all of my once HEALTHY nails have turned into. The GUY working on my nails spent the whole time looking at whats going on around him & kept using a nail file on my nails. He was going over and over every nail. All my nails except for my thumbs now bend in half. My nails are awkwardly shaped. Cuticles were BARELY removed. SHITTY job. If you PLAN on doing a shitty job, then close down please. Too many shitty nail salons in elk grove just doing the bare minimum and getting away with it. Not to mention the worker LYNN went off on a customer and told her not to come back just because she was dissatisfied with the work they did. She embarrassed the customer and then gossiped about her to another customer. Never coming again. Want a good nail shop? Go to SACRAMENTO. Terrible experience. charged $45 just to get gel taken off nails and get a gel pedicure. told last minute I couldn't get a full acrylic set and encouraged just to get gel manicure. i said no and she said to come back tomorrow. if i had time tomorrow..... i would've came in tomorrow??? if she couldn't do my full set she should've told me when i called :) lolllllll worst mistake giving this place a try when i had hours left to go somewhere else, they wasted my time. so pissed off. read more

This is the BEST nail Salon in Elk Grove. They are super clean, they always have the new trend polishes, chromes, glitters etcs. They pay attention to detail and always super accommodating. Also if you like being rewarded for your spending they have stamp cards. Every ten stamps and you get a free pedi, you can't beat that. Also huge shout out to my girl Lynn, she always keeps my nails lookin fresh and we always have great conversations. Lynn is my go to, where she goes I go!! After my favorite nail tech left (a shop I won't name) I was devastated. I had been going to her for a pedicure for at least 2 years. I've never been a person who could go from shop to shop. I decided to give sunshine nails a try because my cousin would always tell me good things about them. First time walking in I felt very welcomed and I was greeted by Anna. Anna was amazing with my pedicure and she reminded of my old nail tech. Very sweet, greets me by my name, very good at taking care of my nail beds, don't rush and can polish well. I now have been going to sunshine nails for at least 5 months now and have my mom going as well. My nail technician was nice during the pedicure but I'm not happy about the quality of my pedicure. My toes had paint all over them that she didn't clean up until I said something. The paint job on my toes was not well done...clumpy, not smooth on some and not even on others. When I complained to have her fix it, she was not happy. I'm trying to find a new nail salon to go to since my favorite nail artist changed careers. Definitely didn't fine it here. I'd be willing to try again if I have a different person working on my nails...but definitely not going back to the same nail technician I had today. Terrible service! My daughter broke a nail and needed it to be fixed, we waited 30 minutes for her nail to soak off while they helped customer after customer that came in after us. If I could give zero stars I would. When my daughter was finally helped the technician rushed the nail fix between helping another customer at the same damn time. Never ever again!! read more

My daughter and I loved this place. Our gel manicures lasted through a 3wk vacation and our pedis looked great too.

It's too bad, this place used to be good. But now, there is no time management. Don't bother making an appointment, you'll still sit for over an hour waiting to get your pedi. Then be promised they can make up for it by doing a mani and pedi at the same time- but unbeknownst to me, changing that idea as well and saying it will be additional time. Will find another place to spend my $. Not worth over 2 hours to only get a basic pedi. I'll spend my time and money elsewhere. read more

Absolutely one of my worst experiences with a nail salon. The gel polish lasted me about 5 days when it should have lasted at least two. My cousin went and her nails broke off 3 times within 2 week. Total waste of money. On top of that they have horrible customer services, all the workers argued back and did not want to address the problem but blame it on us. This place is great I love getting my nails done here but what bothers me is that they aren't true to their appointments. I brought my mother in law to get her nails done full set and they have been making her wait for 30 minutes, someone came in who had a later appt than her so that really bothered me. If I could give zero stars I would. The only reason for one star is because the guy who did my sisters nails did a great job, took his time, friendly & overall she had a good experience. Me however, had the worst. The lady who did my nails filed my skin on my toes and now I have cuts on them which are still hurting hours later. They tried to do a half assed mani while I was getting my pedi done because it was busy. I asked to wait to get mine until after and they started arguing in their language telling her to just do it now while I'm still getting it done. Before she painted my nails she said "you need to get your money out now before we start" in a very rude way. Used to be a great place. Came religiously every two weeks for 5 years. Changed ownership a while back. Have come in and left less than satisfied on multiple occasions. Calling ahead for availability to hear "come now" and then sit and wait for over 40 minutes is ridiculous. Just be honest and give good time frames. Time before this came in for a mani/pedi at the same time (8 months pregnant so trying to limit time in the salon) was approaching 2 hours.... gel manicure still not done despite twisting around uncomfortably because she only stood on one side. "French" tips were inconsistent- some thin, some thick, some crooked on one hand. Finally just asked for the file to remove the white and for them to put a coat of clear so I could leave. Still cost me $40. Loved it here for years because it used to be a relaxing experience and very convenient. Now it's less than a pleasant experience, long waits and don't bother to ask for a French manicure. No shortage of places to go in Elk Grove. My advice: Find another salon. read more

So I went in and I told the nail lady 1 that I wanted a full set of gel and she asked me if I wanted gel and I said yes so she tells me to wait and I ended up waiting an hour and a half just to get a seat. So nail lady 2 brings out a bowl of water and I ask her if she knew I wanted acrylics and she said she doesn't know how to do acrylics. I'm irritated at this point because I have been waiting and then you can't even do what I came here for. The ones who could do my nails where doing someone else's nails. Nail lady 1 comes over and starts to tell ME that I asked for a manicure and I told her that I wanted acrylics and she kept arguing with me. So the girl next to me offered to switch with me since she barely started and then nail lady 1 said "NO." So they ask me if I wanted to wait and I said no I've been waiting long enough they told me come back tmr but I'm never going back there after that. read more
