I never got to experience their food. I actually planned my Austin trip from Dallas to eat here, because I'm from California and I REALLY missed Carne Asada fries and saw this place was the only place that basically had them in all of Texas. So I planned a trip all the way to Austin to come here and have their California fries. Over the weekend I came here with my sister and we were walking in downtown Austin and we saw the place, but we weren't really hungry at the moment. So I walked over there and I asked the worker what time they closed that day, and the person said 6. So that was perfect. We went around Austin for a few hours and it's almost 5, so my sister and I decided to start walking over to the food truck (I forgot to mention, we were only staying in Austin for one day). We saw the food truck was about 20 ft away from us, and I looked at my phone for the time and it was 5:14p.m., and we were SUPER hungry from walking around everywhere all day, and when we got to the truck to order their California fries, everything was locked up and their "Open" sign was off and no one was there. My sister and I were somewhat shocked. Because we planned this WHOLE trip soley to have their California fries, and they have such great reviews on here, and they LIED to us!!!! I felt shattered, because if you're from Calirfornia, you know Carne Asada fries is basically life haha and I was really hurt they lied to us about the time they closed. Not to mention I was starving, so I was hangry. So was my sister. So even though we did other nice things during our day, our trip was basically a ruined now because we couldn't have their food. That also says something to me about their customer service, they didn't care about the customer and just said whatever, whether because either they didn't care, or they didn't know, in which case they should've asked to make sure. I was really sad, and most definitely will not be returning, because I'm moving back to California in about a month, where I can have some real carne asada fries, and most food places in California close around 2 a.m. Yay! :D read more

NO CAPES! It's close and delicious, a winning combination for me. These guys can put a burrito together faster than Gump can put a rifle together. Super Burrito has carte blanche access to my wallet. Huge fan of the Texas Cheesesteak burrito but for the most part I enjoy the simplicity of the shredded chicken Super Burrito. The San Diego burrito here does no justice to the authentic burritos you can find in San Diego. I've been told this is the only place in Austin you can find such a burrito though, so I'll give them that. For almost $10 what you receive in a San Diego burrito from here is an overload of French fries, a lack of carne asada, and an underwhelming amount of guacamole. All three ingredients that must be proportional in order for a California burrito to be enjoyable. Not to mention this burrito is on average $7-8 in San Diego anywhere you go, maybe even less AND for something extremely bigger. Shocking to see this place only has 3.5 stars! Visiting Austin with some friends, and our Airbnb host recommended. In situations like these, I'm kind of glad I didn't check yelp first to see what their overall rating is because I would definitely have pushed it aside. We went at 12:30am (on a Friday night) because we thought we were going to go out, but we got really hungry and decided to eat instead. I think they close shortly after us though, so at 1am? Not sure why it says 10pm closing! Pre-informed biases aside, this place has the bet burrito I've ever had in my entire life. First of all, I don't even like burritos because I sometimes feel like it's too much tortilla and slim fillings. Needless to say, this burrito did not have excess tortilla wrapping when I got to the bottom. It was evenly and strategically folded - there was never a point where I felt like I took a bite of 50% or more of purely tortilla and no stuff. Secondly, the "inside" was mixed very well. I got the Texas, and my meat, cheese, potatoes (comes w skin), and guac were all nicely mixed together, aka not just a bite of only potatoes, etc. Third, my burrito was so flavorful; it was like getting punched in the mouth with spices. Makes me wonder if the other reviews are reviewing the right cart!! And lastly, it was PIPING HOT even down to the last bite (not hot enough to burn my mouth of course), so that definitely kept the entire burrito satisfactory. Me and my husband were super excited to get some real Cali burritos, but what we got didn't even come close! So we got the super burrito first off the fries tasted like they were reheated in the microwave from last night! The Carne Asada taste like peppered beef from china town! The food was tasteless, and nothing tasted fresh. I will never come back here again, and I do not recommend this place! Was missing California burritos so I tried the San Diego burrito from here and was quite disappointed. The meat had an odd taste, the fries were completely soggy and also had an odd taste, there was just something very off about the taste of everything. My wife and I are traveling through town and decided to order in as we didn't feel up to going out. Selecting this restraint was a huge mistake. The food arrived very timely but it was huge disappointment. The chips were stale, the guacamole was brown, the fries were old. Food very much felt like false advertising. Really impressed by the food trailer here (wasn't quite sure what to expect given the location). We recently moved to Austin and this trailer is literally next door to us in a small lot with a few trucks/trailers so I see us coming back often! Split the Texas Burrito and the Pollo Asado Burrito and neither of us could decide which we liked more. The Texas Burrito was a bit soupier with a delicious mushroom sauce; the Pollo Asado was just the right consistency and flavor. The time it took to cook it from scratch was a bit longer than I had expected but was truly worth the wait. Back in the day I went to school in La Jolla and fell in love with the San Diego style burrito. Hard to go back to beans and rice as a filler when you've had crispy french fries instead. I paid $2+ for queso on my nachos and got the tiniest drizzle of it, so that I could barely tell that there was queso on them at all. I asked if I could have more because I couldn't even really tell there was queso on them, and the woman working there told me it was a standard amount of queso and just shook her head. A clearly disappointed customer shouldn't be treated this way. Ironically, they have a "yelp us" sign out front. I intend to yelp, Zomato, and google review them. It's not worth losing customers to be cheap like that. Also the guacamole sucks. The "carne asada" came in little pellets. I wouldn't even eat such bad Mex food in Dallas, much less Austin. Super Burrito.... meh. I really wanted to enjoy this place, but frankly I had a very underwhelming burrito. I tried the San Diego burrito, but I ended up throwing away half of it because it just wasn't worth finishing. I will say that the burrito was HUGE, I would have struggled to finish this had I actually enjoyed the meal, so that's something. My particular burrito was very heavy on the fries, with a small amount of beef (and I couldn't find any guac). That's not a good start, but I like fries so I figured no big deal.... until I took the second bite, and realized my fries were very soggy- as if the oil wasn't hot enough before they were thrown in! I tried to power through, but I couldn't find a redeeming quality about the burrito! I will also say that the staff was very friendly at the window, but frankly if the food doesn't cut the mustard, what does the service matter? I ordered the San Diego burrito (obviously), the carne asada was really just over cooked steak and didn't have good flavor and the tortilla had a rubbery or waxy consistency instead of flakey. After trying Lucky's Puccia's and Austin Habibi, I was looking forward to trying Super Burrito since its two neighbors are amazing, but I was a bit underwhelmed. Got the Super Burrito with steak and a chipotle tortilla, and grabbed a mexican coke from the bar. The steak was actually pretty good, but the burrito was actually a bit too cheesy for my taste. Mind you, I love cheese, but all I tasted was cheese and meat with the texture of rice. There was guac in there too, but again I couldn't taste it. Super Burrito is a great food truck, tucked away on the west side of downtown. Never a long line, so a perfect option if you're in a rush. Highly recommend the Chipotle Calamari burrito for dinner, or if you're there for breakfast the AM (with the AM - add a sauce, like chipotle). read more

Boyfriend and I came here today, (2/17/17) he ordered the San Diego Burrito and I ordered the Monster Nachos. Based on the reviews and us being from Houston we trusted yelp. Wrong! The Burrito was trash, the guac was old, the overall taste was not pleasing. The ingredients tasted old! The monster nachos were cold! The meat was cold, the beans under all the nachos were cold! It seemed like they warmed up old food and gave it to us. We ordered our meals and they were ready in less than 10 mins, not exaggerating either. My boyfriend ordered our food and went to the restroom and before he even got back both meals were done! Tell me that doesn't sound sketchy. I wouldn't recommend to go. We always try really good food trucks when we come to town but this was a disappointment. Never going back. Hoping neither of us get sick. read more
