The food at Super Burrito on Hollenbeck near Homestead is mediocre. I was there for lunch this week and ordered the 2-taco plate with beans and rice. I was unimpressed with the quality of the food and am unlikely to return. There are much better Mexican restaurants not too far away. The good news is that the lady who took my order behind the counter (no waiter service) was pleasant and they brought the food to my table quickly. I noticed that the Yelp evaluations for this place have gone downhill throughout 2017 so other folks are agreeing with me. Super Mojado burrito. Multiple fruit flies in the cheese sauce. Almost missed them. Take a look in the back before you buy anything to scan for health risks. I will skip this step entirely and go to La Bamba in the future. I don't understand why people think the food here is so wonderful? I'm used to Los Angeles taco trucks being the top of my burrito tastes, and quite honestly, this was just bland and boring. I didn't even finish half of my chicken burrito, and the salsas didn't hide that fact. There really isn't anything better before NFL kickoff on Sunday morning than a high quality breakfast burrito. I went with the chorizo and egg burrito and let me tell you, it's one heck of a breakfast. Large in size, filled with quality / fresh ingredients and the taste...spectacular! My roommate, a huge breakfast burrito proponent (no pun intended) went with 2, one bacon and egg and another with ham and egg. Have you ever had Al Pastor? I still don't really know what kind of meat/marination mixture it is, but it's GREAT. And Super Burrito has it! I ordered a super burrito on a Saturday afternoon and left $1.00 tip for the nice ladies making my food bringing my total to a nice $7.83. After scarfing down a mediocre burrito due to ravenous hunger, my food coma left me groggy and stupidly, I left my purse there and didn't realize until it was too late. I picked it up the next morning and double checked the contents of my purse to make sure everything was still there. Relieved and thankful I left happily only to notice in my bank account that Super Burrito had charged me $100.70! When I called to figure out what happened, the manager explained that one of the employees had "mistakenly" entered in $100.00 as my tip rather than a mere $1.00. Funny, because adding $100.00 to a $6.83 charge would bring my total to $106.38 NOT $100.70. When I asked the manager if she checked the register to make sure that money had not been taken out and everything added up from Saturday's charges she replied that she had not even thought to do so and that she would because it was a great suggestion. SHADY SHADY SHADY. I definitely will NOT ever be going back and urge other customers NOT to leave a tip as it is an easy ploy to steal your money. Food is mediocre at best anyways. read more

This place is amazing. Simply put. Their super burrito is friggen huge and with fill up any stomach. The only place ive been to around cupertino that does carne asada. Much better (of course) than chipotle and cheaper too! They include chips & salsa (which is awesome; has a good kick) with the burrito and it comes out to around $8, which is cheaper than if you got chips with the ever shrinking chipotle burrito. My only complaint is that they seem to mix up orders faily often. Not by much, but they almost always put the wrong salsa/sauce on my burrito. First, we have to say that the Cupertino/Sunnyvale area is not known for the best Mexican food. We usually go to San Jose if we want the good stuff, but that requires a lot of driving and time. So we were skeptical coming into Super Burrito for the first time, but walked out quite surprised! We got Super Burritos Al Pastor and Chile Verde. They were filling and had a lot of flavor. The carne asada was really tasty. The chile verde was okay but heavy on the sauce and less on the meat. The variety of salsas was just as people describe, fun and many! We had fun trying all of them with the chips while waiting for our burritos to arrive. The place is clean and bright inside and out. There is a large TV playing Mexican shows and the place was quite full when we were there. The staff were friendly, brought our food to our table, and cleaned up the tables promptly after guests left. It is still not as good as the little family owned places south of us but we have found a decent place that serves pretty good Mexican "fast food" near our home so we will be returning customers. read more

Great food at a great price!!! big free salsa bar, only down side of it is the free salsa containers are only 1/4 inch thick so you have to sit there scooping and filing them for ever. Super busy around lunch time so expect a line with bunch of high school kids and a lot of construction workers or contractors. Super average Mexican place. The carne asada was chewy, fatty, and tasted charred (aka. low quality meat). The rice and beans didn't taste fresh and had very little flavor. Came with my cousins for dinner. My older cousin got a wet burrito and a churro, my younger cousin got a churro and a cream filled churro, and I got a tamale and flan. Food was ok, though my cousin said that the wet burrito lacked salt. I also agree about the lack of salt for my tamale. But the desserts were good. I come from LA, where good Mexican food is easy to find. However, in the bay, good authentic restaurants are hard to find. This place has solid Mexican food with very good portions and a decent salsa bar. They do seem very busy during the meal times and most of the tables inside and out are occupied during those time. I feel like a lot of people may give a lower review for the service being slow and have error, but I go here for the food, not to be pampered. Wow, one of the biggest if not the biggest huevos con papas burrito for me, ever. I had mine with beans and rice added. And while it was nicely hot, the potatoes were not cooked through! Got hooked on egg and potato breakfast burritos since my boss began bringing them to work pretty regularly. I had a craving for one while out of town caring for my parents here in California. This place is right around the corner from them and I was pleasantly surprised! Excellent breakfast burrito. Huge breakfast burrito! Lots of egg, potato and bacon. The tortilla was yummy and had perfect texture. I could only eat half since it was so big, so my dad polished off the rest. Think we're set for the rest of the day! The carne asada super burrito was bad... heavy on the rice and beans and light on the sour cream and guaco and other veggies. The CARNE ASADA SUCKED!! Chunks of rubbery, fatty, unchewable chunks of meat. I had to spit out half of the meat. The beef enchilada was horrible. The meat was tough, burnt, unchewable cubes. They have a side salad on the menu and offer no salad dressing.
