That's just it. Everything at this place, makes the other chicken places look like amateurs. You get the sandwich selection: fantastic, even something for the vegetarians. And whoever gives 7 or 8 different free sauces(is the one who is very cool to customers!).... Sheesh. I dare you to compare Super Chix to Dave's Hot Chicken(if we're honest, that place is kinda gross:( I will conclude by saying that all of the staff had a pleasant demeanor. I had forgotten that the spot I wanted to eat at was closed for Korean Jesus' sabbath, or known more colloquially as Tuesday. I saw that Super Chix had recently opened across the way, and decided to give it a shot. Mistakes were made. I went in with my wife and immediately noticed the place had a certain vibe, the kind that pulled its look right out of a hipster restaurant starter pack. Suddenly, I was instinctively prepared to pay 2-3x the value of the food I was about to order, and Super Chix did not disappoint. I had a question for the cashier before I was ready to order, simply whether the tenders come with any sides, coleslaw or fries perhaps? A confused look washed over her face, like Michael Spinx 92 seconds into his fight with Iron Mike Tyson. Her response was inaudible. I asked her to repeat herself and leaned in, like Donald Trump at a teen beauty pageant. This time she uneasily squeaked out that the fries come on the side. Perfect! We were ready to order. Hankering for something on the spicier side, I went with the Nashville Hot Sandwich. My wife went with the 2-piece tenders. Added one vanilla custard for us to share, since the place was apparently known for it. I mean it says so right there under their name! "That'll be it, to-go please and thank you." "Would you like fries with your order?" she asked. "Uh, I think the fries that the tenders come with will be enough for the both of us." "The tenders don't come with fries." "But you just said they come on the side." "Yes, they are a side that you have to order separately." "So you mean they don't 'come' on the side, they are a side order" Trying to keep my eyes from rolling to the back of my skull, I reluctantly added fries to my order. A few minutes go by, and they call my name from pick-up area. The bag was piping hot and smelled great, so it got me thinking that maybe this visit would turn out better than it began. Little did I know what was in store for me. I turned around and asked the cashier for the custard. With another confused look she says it's in the bag. Could the back of house staff be so clueless as to put a frozen dessert into a bag of hot food? Impossible. I second guess myself and look back at them... they all look competent. Unsure of who to trust, I peered into the bag not knowing what to expect. Mixed feelings of disdain and relief washed over me, the custard was nowhere to be found. Apologetically, she reaches into the freezer and pulls out a vanilla custard and hands it to me. Not wanting to extend this pleasant exchange any longer, we left the store in a hurry with a grain hope that the food will be as good as it had smelled. We hopped in the car deciding start with the custard on the drive home before it had a chance to melt. My wife pulled off the frosted lid, revealing a sad and gooey little lump. I paid nearly $5 for this shared disappointment. We left the store just moments ago, and already this tiny dollop of custard was half-melted. I took my first bite unable to lower my expectations any further, and yet Super Chix again came through. Small crunchy bits of ice were mixed in with the custard, a clear indication that this sad excuse for a treat had been refrozen. We got home and I prepared myself for a whole new level of disappointment, and once again Super Chix held up its end of the bargain. The Nashville Hot was a mess, sopping wet with sadness and regret. I reluctantly took a bite, resulting in a surprisingly accurate yet unintended impression of Jabba the Hutt eating a Klattoine paddy frog. "Wait... did they GRILL the chicken in this Nashville hot sandwich?!" I took another bite in disbelief, asking my wife if this chicken looked grilled. She pointed to the one sauceless corner of the chicken patty. "No, I think it's fried." I took a bite of that sauceless corner, and was in a weird way relieved. The chicken was fried, and sadly that bite was the best bite of sandwich I had that day. My wife's chicken tender experience didn't go any better. She's a sucker for tendies, but couldn't even finish the first one. The least they could have done was provided sauce to cover up that tasteless abomination, but nothing, not even a ketchup packet could be found. We would have been better off firing up some dino nuggies from our freezer. Not gonna lie, the fries were actually really good. By far the best part of the meal, beating out the sauceless corner of the Nashville Hot sandwich. My husband and I stumbled upon Super Chix by accident. It turned out to be a great accident! The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. The young man, Daniel working the counter was very helpful and patient with us. He answered all of our questions and made some suggestions. The food was made to order and delicious! I am not sure if it was the owner or the manager that walked around and spoke to all of the customers. He asked us for our feedback on how they could improve. We were so satisfied with our experience and our meal we had no feedback to give. I would recommend Super Chix for any one who likes a freshly cooked chicken sandwich and fresh cut French fries. I'm still not sure about this place. How's that for a start, well that and a 2 star rating. Ok let's get into this. I was interested in the chicken and custard under this places name. So of course, being interested a friend and I went in to get lunch. The basis of this place is to sell chicken. Chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, chicken salads and custard. Here is what we ordered, 2 of the crispy Avo salads, one of the southwest salads and an order of fries. The avo salad has two breaded gouda-stuffed avocados, gouda cheese, fresno peppers, tomatoes and jalapeno dressing. I asked the girl taking our order, could I have buttermilk ranch dressing instead of the jalapeno dressing and are the peppers hot. She said yes to the dressing and no to the peppers. Ok I'm game. The southwest salad has sliced avocado, tortilla strips, tomatoes and jalapeno ranch dressing. My friend asked for the buttermilk dressing also. Cutting to the chase here...Our two avo salads came with the jalapeno dressing and the peppers were spicy. There was no gouda cheese to speak of the chicken was you know...average, not particularly tasty. But the real issue I had was with the "famous breaded gouda-stuffed avocado". It's really listed as this on the menu. This did not work for me at all and here's why: the avocado had no taste whatsoever, which can mean that it's picked too early, which happens a lot with avocados or maybe it's simply not tasty. The gouda cheese on top of the avocado was indistinguishable because the breading on all of this was incredibly thick; it was clump of cheese that I couldn't even tell was cheese; I had to look up the menu again just to make sure. I can't tell if the breading was supposed to be sweet or not, but it simply didn't work and it was just so much breading. It was just not good at all. Look you're paying almost 14.00 for this and it wasn't worth it. My friend's southwest salad she liked, so at least someone in our party had a good meal. The fries were ok but hugely salted. Maybe they are working some glitches out who know. I didn't try the custard; they sell pints of different flavors and offer shakes also. Note: nothing comes with fries, you order a sandwich and that's it, prepare to order a la carte. Will I go back, nope. Do I need to, nope. If they want to be able to go up against another chicken place, which is super close to here, they better up their game. Not a fan. read more
