decent xlb, for the westside! this place is halal, so you won't find the traditional pork xlb, only chicken and beef/crab. it's a bit inconvenient for those with sensitivities to crab but also not wanting to eat chicken. i liked that the xlb was very juicy, and though the skin was a bit thicker than i like, it managed to keep all the liquid intact. the spicy chili chicken wontons were nothing special, the sauce did not adhere to the dumplings and it was a pretty lacking flavor sauce. usually they have sacha (satay) sauce here but this was just pretty basic. the beef roll was pretty good, but it barely had any meat and had iceberg lettuce instead of cilantro..? and it didn't really have the hoisin sauce as much that is typical of this dish. we also got the chocolate xlb for dessert, and it was so delicious and not too sweet. this place is in the culver city mall. the ambiance is meh, the seats are pretty worn out and crackle like alligator skin. for all the food, bill came out to 60 :( food is generally expensive nowadays so i get it. i would rather drive out to the san gabriel valley for XLB than go here again. read more

Came here for lunch after doing a little shopping. It was the middle of a workday, so there were only a few people in the restaurant. Interior was clean and there was a nice bar area with TVs playing different sports channels. I ordered the garlic noodles, orange chicken, and Thai tea. Noodles were pretty good and had plenty of garlic and buttter. I wish it was a bit warmer though. Orange chicken came out very hot (which I love). Chicken was tender and packed with flavor. Craved dumplings tonight and saw an ad on IG a few months ago. Decided to try it out! We dined in. Only 5-10min wait for a Friday night around 8:30. The reception are was strange. There was a whole bar full of fabric napkins. They might not have liquor license since the bar was not activated. It was fun to see the cooks with the window. The overhead lighting was bright. It felt like we were in a mall. There was no ambiance. Many people were here on dates and there were large families. I think I walked past a table of 20! They can definitely accommodate large groups. We ordered the veggie dumplings and the chocolate xlb. We were not sure how fast the service was going to be so we ordered both at the same time. The chocolate came out 10 min before the veggie. My partner identified the chocolate immediately as Lindt lol Compared to din tai fung, this chocolate filling is all liquid. Din tai fung is more firm. The veggie dumplings were okay. I liked how it wasn't just soy. A lot of places just have some sort of soy as the filling and no other texture. When you bit into this one, you could see the mushroom, cabbage and onion. It was a lil bland. Our table didn't have chili oil. We did have the black vinegar, soy sauce and ginger. Our black vinegar bottle was leaking and got all over the table. Our server didn't check in on us until after we finished. Our chairs were cheap feeling and there was dried on food on it from a previous customer. Then a mosquito landed on my partner's plate and decided to die on one of his dumplings. There's many signs showing it's halal which is awesome. I'm looking at the reviews and most people give 5 stars. The veggie dumplings were not for us. I know one of my friends loves this place. She gets all of the meat dumplings, green beans, fried rice and noodles. I wouldn't return for the veggie dumplings, but I could see why meat eaters come back. For veggie dumplings and chocolate xlb came out to $28 pre tip. Yay for some veggie options but the veggie dumplings were a no for me. read more

Went here for dinner after hearing it was like a Din tai fung "dupe" and it lived up to the hype! I wouldn't say it's at the same level as DTF but I think the food is comparable given that the prices are more affordable than DTF's prices. And not to mention, you don't have to wait for 2hours to eat at this restaurant either which was a huge plus. I came specifically to try this restaurant since my mom had been raving about it. I came with my family yesterday and it was mostly everyone's first time as well. The staff was very nice and had us seated right away even though we were still waiting on two people. I was a little surprised to see that the restaurant was located inside of a mall but it had such an inviting atmosphere. The lighting was dim but not too dim and felt so fancy. Since we let them know it was our first time here, we asked for some recommendations. I appreciated the server for telling me what Xiao Long Dumplings were and his recommendation but my take away was a little different. For a restaurant with "dumpling" in their name, you'd expect that no matter what at least the dumplings are the go to but I felt differently. Some of the best food here had to have been all the entrees. I enjoyed the flavor of the soup dumplings but I wouldn't say it was my favorite. My absolute favorite was the orange chicken. My spark notes version of what to get and not to get: *Crab beef Xiao Long Bao (Soup Dumpling) - the best soup dumpling to get but make sure to follow how to eat it from the tips! *****Orange Chicken - the most AMAZING orange chicken I've probably ever had ****Mongolian beef - the beef was so tender and the flavors were so explosive Pan fried beef buns (soup dumpling) - this was very difficult to eat and even when we got to the middle it felt less than a reward ***Beef pan fried dumpling - these were like more traditional dumplings that were smaller and it was actually tastier than both soup dumplings ****Chicken fried rice - It was so delicious! Ive tried plenty of fried rice because of my son but this was a very fresh and tasty dish. My son even noticed the flavors as it had an authentic taste (made in a wok). *****Corn Soup - I really did enjoy this soup (I've only ever had chicken in my corn soup) but it didn't even need chicken. I really wish they would offer a larger "family" styled amount but we made it work with two servings! If you order this, just remember there is only one size and it's a single person serving. We made it work with 2 servings amongst 5 people and still had leftovers. Usually my family and I travel to Anaheim to eat at Ma's Islamic Chinese but now we might come here more than there. Overall, this was a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back again. A special thank you to our server Christian who was just so lovely and even had great rapport with my father. I really don't like having to leave negative reviews, but I hope this will help this restaurant improve their takeout order service for future patrons. I recently ordered super dumpling to try them, given all the other positive reviews here on yelp. I'm sick at home and was really craving some dumplings and Asian flavors to get over this cold. But was extremely disappointed when my lunch order arrived and the quality of the items as well as, packaging of them was extremely subpar. The condiments that were given with my order were lacking in portion as well as quantity, and all the food arrived mildly warm and bland. The most shocking was the orange chicken, which was extremely dry and seemed to have been probably the last of their lunch order portions. I hope to try super dumplings again in the future, but perhaps better in person than ordering out. read more

However, it was conveniently located facing outward on the mall. Parking was easy. The restaurant is spacious and a bit modern. I received my to go order very quickly. The host was really friendly and helpful. I tried the spicy stirfry beef. It was OK. The only spice I tasted was cumin which was a bit heavy, in my opinion. My friend had heard about this place and told me about it recently. When at the mall, I happened to see it on my way to Five Guys. The restaurant turned out well to celebrate my friend's birthday. We ordered the crab and beef soup dumplings, pan fried beef rolls, bok choy, and beef mapo tofu with rice. Everything was very flavorful and came out pretty fast. Our server Myat Sandar was so attentive and patient and tried hard to make it a memorable celebration by even presenting my friend with a slice of cake with a candle. I love Super Dumpling! I usually frequent the original location in Orange, but went to the Culver City one last week. This one is located inside the mall and is HUGE inside! Very pretty and great ambiance too. The food never misses. My favorites are always the Spicy Chicken Wontons and the Beef Fried Noodles. The service was also amazing, a huge shout out to Christian our server! It was my mom's birthday and I asked him on the side if they do have any desserts to surprise her with. He had said that they just finished it unfortunately, but that was fine with us. Then he ended up surprising us with complimentary chocolate xiao long baos! We looked outside at the menu and it looked very similar and we decided to give this place a try and it was amazing and very delicious! Super Dumpling is known for their dim sum and dumplings but they also create some very delicious Asian dishes like fried rice, kung pao, orange chicken, chicken wontons, etc... The food tastes like something I would make at home. Just so comforting and really made for someone that misses home cooked Asian dishes. This is a Halal establishment, which I love because there aren't too many Halal restaurants in the area. My experience here was very nice here. The staff is super friendly and approach you with a warm inviting energy. I suggest you dine-in rather than placing an order for take-out.
