Such a unique concept! Most of the dishes are served on a sizzling hot plate, the sound itself just makes you drool. I've tried the beef with garlic noodles and the chicken with white sauce plates. Both were amazing. The noodles were the perfect texture and the sauces were so delicious. I loved how the chicken cubes were huge and moist. The mini hotpot is only $14.95 and SO worth it. It was literally the best hotpot beef I've ever had. The beef was tender and juicy. The hotpot soup was seasoned well and don't forget the garlic soy sauce! Judging on the first look, it didn't seem like a lot of food, but after mixing everything in the pan together, it was a pretty decent portion. I like how they give you the sauce on the side so you can customize how much flavor you want. I used 3/4 of the sauce in my pan and used the left over sauce to dip my meat in. The food's pretty bland without the sauce. I was pleasantly surprised that the garlic pepper sauce had the right amount of flavor and wasn't too peppery. The pieces of salmon I got could be bigger, but I was still full afterwards because of the rice and chicken. The chicken was tender and the beef was good as well. If you're an egg fan like me, add the egg! Topping my pan off with the fried egg added the perfect touch to my meal and left me full and satisfied. In terms of pricing, it's around the same as pepper lunch, but the noticeable flavor difference makes this the winner. I usually get beef with curry rice which I highly recommend. The food comes hot and sizzling and even with a paper wrap around it to ensure that you don't touch the surface of the sizzling plate. Just a few minutes of sizzling and mixing and the food is good to eat. I like that it comes raw before the sizzle so you can cook the beef to it's desired tenderness. The plates arrived quickly on sizzling hot skillets, and we were instructed to cook the meat on them. After cooking, we doused our dishes with curry sauce as well as garlic butter sauce and devoured everything before us. The food was delicious - the vegetables fresh and the cuts of meat were tender and seemed to be of high quality. The cheese struck a nice balance with the egg and rice on the skillet, and the food was gone before I knew it. My only gripe was that the sauce was pretty weak. Well it ain't Pepper Lunch but honestly it's pretty damn good. I was Yelping around for a place to eat and I think I typed in Teppanyaki and this place was one of the first results in my search. Honestly, judging from its name I thought it would be like a super Americanized/generic fast food Japanese place. I got curious and clicked on it and saw all the pictures of the food that people had posted and saw it was pretty much the same concept as Pepper Lunch. Well, now I'm sold! Can't comment much on parking since I took public transportation here but it looks like parking sucks, so be warned. They're pretty easy to miss as it's connected to E-tea and they share an entrance. Anyways just walk in at E-tea and walk to your left and you're at Super Pan! They have a few different choices on their menu ranging from appetizers of different ethnicities (if you look at their menu, you'll see what I mean), ramen, and the sizzling plates which also had a wide variety too. There were noodles, rice, curry plates, different meats, basically a ton of different options. Despite all the options, I stuck with the tried and true. I wanted to get the pepper beef with rice but Ken wanted that, so I switched my order to the pepper beef with garlic noodles. Keep It Simple Stupid, none of that curried omelette rice stuff. I want the old tried and true, pepper beef. The plate came out with beef, garlic noodles and I opted for corn added in(no extra charge), and the pepper sauce on the side. Man, I love that sizzle. Listen to my Yelp video, that sizzle of meat cooking right in front of you on a hot plate. I swear it makes your food tastes better. I tried the pepper beef with rice and I have to admit, the garlic noodles taste better than the rice. We also got boba! The boba is pretty solid, I got the Roasted Oolong Crema boba with grass jelly and it is served in a glass jar like Plentea but way better tasting than Plentea in my opinion.
