Great place for a quick dinner! I've been here a number of times, and there's almost never a wait. The service was always been quick and friendly. My go-to is the beef pepper rice. They serve their dishes on a sizzling hot plate- definitely a fun experience- make sure to move the meat around quickly to fully cook it! The sauce/gravy that they serve with it is delicious! The serving size is pretty much the same as Pepper Lunch, and is very filling. They also serve ramen and have hot pot options- neither of which I've tried (yet). read more

This place is a hole in the wall but surprisingly very delicious. When you walk in it looks like a boba joint, but if you looK to the left they have a small "restaurant" area. Everything we ordered was pretty good, service was attentive and the pricing is pretty cheap. I had ordered the beef garlic noodles with an egg on top. It comes out on a hot stone plate which I thought tasted as good as it looked. It comes sauce in the side which added a lot of flavor. I basically poured mine all over the noodles. You also get a decent sized portion given the prize point. We also ordered karaage chicken for an appetizer. Came out super fast, was blazing hot and also delicious. I visited here last night with a group of friends around 7:30pm. We were seated right away. Visibly there were a few open tables, so it was nice not having to wait. The service was attentive and great really. We ordered a couple appetizers, a couple of beers on tap, and basically all got the same entree -- beef pepper rice with an added fried egg. Wow this is a pleasant surprise! We stopped by this place after walking past it out of accident. The place looks like a bubble tea place on the outside but actually has a restaurant inside. The food is GREAT You get this hot metal pan and some raw meat (beef, salmon etc) that you cook on the hot metal pan after it's been served on your table. You literally watch the meat slices cook itself fresh in front of you one second before you put it in your mouth. Total heaven The sauce is awesome, with hot gravy that goes really well with the meat and the instant cook savoriness. The drinks are also really well made, with a lot of really enticing options like Mango smoothies and coconut heaven etc. You even get to keep the interesting bottles afterwards. The servers look like they are new, but they are very polite and you can tell they really want the place to do well and wants to serve their customers well. Quick & filling dinner! I hadn't eaten the whole day and came in around 7PM--boy, was I hungry. What's even better is that our food came out sizzling hot within minutes, so this place is perfect if you want your food fast. I ordered the #6, which is the Cheesy Omelette with Beef (I paid an extra $1.50 for garlic pasta, which tasted plain) and I paired it up with their delicious Garlic Pepper sauce. He liked mine better and thought that the Cream sauce would pair better with chicken. We actually made the mistake of adding our sauces too fast before the beef was fully cooked in the pan. After reading several reviews of this place, my girlfriend and I were super excited to give this place a try! However, we believe it isn't worth all the hype... Being from LA, I am a huge fan of this style of asian cuisine and it reminds me a lot of a food establishment I reviewed in the past called Pepper Lunch. However, this place wasn't nearly as good. My girlfriend ordered the Curry Tonkatsu, I ordered the Curry Beef w/ Pepper Rice and Cheese (as you can see, we're big curry fans), and we ordered the garlic fires as an appetizer. Food: We felt that both dishes were lacking flavor, the curry was rather disappointing. The Tonkatsu was dry and the beef wasn't as juicy as I expected it to be. Granted they are both curry dishes in which the curry should really bring out the flavor, but the curry seemed to thick and cold. It was as if they had just pulled it from the fridge warmed it let it sit and then served it to us. Maybe this wasn't the case but it defiantly did not seem fresh. The fries however, EXCELLENT! It was honestly the best thing about our meal! I most likely won't be coming back to this place since there are better options out there when it comes to this style of asian cuisine. This place is known for their pans that have some variation of raw meat such as beef or salmon, accompanied by some sort of base, rice or noodles, along with sauce! It all comes out on a hot pan and you pour the sauce and mix it on the plate yourself. It's a fun experience, the food was good, and the service was good as well. I wouldn't say that I would return on my own, but I'm glad I tried it once for the experience! I had the beef kimchi fried rice which was delicious, however I probably would go elsewhere if I wanted kimchi fried rice. The hot pan experience is definitely something to try so I would recommend it if you're in the area. The calamari and fries were okay. Pretty standard. The plate came with a cocktail sauce and a sweet and sour sauce. I got the chicken and beef combo. The chicken was precooked, but the beef wasn't, so my dish was still interactive and fun. Both meats were tender and flavorful. I liked that the garlic pepper sauce had a little kick. I tried a bite of Peter's steak. Don't let it cook too long cuz the steak cooks quickly. I like my meat rare, so it was a little over for me, but still nice and juicy. The butter really helps. Rodney enjoyed his beef and garlic pasta. What's dinner without drinks?! We all shared a Sapporo Draft Beer ($16.50 pitcher) and a Hot Sake ($7.50). Good drinks for pairing with this type of meal. Super Pan got me SUPER EGGcited, because of the concept similar to PepperLunchUSA. .::Food::. Teppan Pasta Beef and Garlic Pasta 10.99 (+$1.00 add egg): Came with a black sauce to add on top. Overall taste was pretty decent, the black sauce basically gave the beef and pasta all the flavors. The pasta was a bit disappointing though. I wish it was udon or something better because it tasted like a cheap safeway brand, which even after sitting on the sizzling plate felt a bit on the harder side. The sizzling plate came out with a paper surrounding it to prevent splashing of hot oil on you (which is quite considerate). .::Service/WaitTime::. Service was pretty good. There was two guys there when we came on Thursday night around 5:30pm. There was no wait at all, in fact, it was empty besides the two of us. The crowd rolled in after about 6pm. They were very tentative and warned us that the plate was hot and to cook the beef thoroughly before eating. They came by several times to check if we needed more water or more sauce. The waiter made sure we knew to cook the beef thoroughly before mixing, or else the beef might not be cooked all the way through. So we mixed and mixed and mixed and finally got to try it!! ....And the end result was a little bland. You would think the curry sauce would be very flavorful, but it needed more seasoning. At least the meat was good! We wished there was more corn included in the dish. And lastly, we were waiting for the garlic butter flavor but didn't taste any. :-( We were full afterwards so the price point ($11) is okay. I'm on a Japanese curry craze right now and found this place on yelp with pretty good reviews. I had high expectations walking in and was really excited when my food came. They also allowed you to order E Tea in the restaurant as well which I did. Not pleased about the drink to say the least but I will expand on that in a separate review just for E-Tea. We waited only about 5 minutes on a weekday for lunch around 2pm. Finding street parking nearby can be a challenge sometimes but we were able to find parking a couple blocks away. The food looked great, definitely 4 stars for the presentation. It comes with a little paper wall around the plate to protect you from the sizzling, but still be careful if you pour the sauce when the plate is still piping hot. I ordered the Cheesy Omelette Rice with Beef with curry sauce on the side. The omelette looked smooth and pretty but i wished that instead of sitting folded over on top of the rice, the egg had stayed wet but covered the whole mount of rice. The beef was still raw when served and you have to cook it yourself by mixing the beef over the stone plate, which I thought was fun since it was a first for me. The curry sauce was not as savory and strong as I had hoped, but I left the restaurant feeling very thirsty nonetheless. All the ingredients on the plate itself down to the broccoli were barely seasoned/salted at all, which made everything taste bland, sometimes even with the weak curry sauce. Overall, not bad but could use more seasoning. Would not be my top choice for teppan curry. read more

Beef with curry: 2/5: this came on a hot plate with thin strips of beef, rice was in the middle topped with curry and pepper. It came with a side of curry sauce to pour over. I did mix the beef quickly to get it cooking and added sauce on top. I felt like it was underwhelming in terms of flavor. The sauce and pepper did not add much flavor. I wished it was more flavorful or there was more sauce . It was barely enough for the plate. Overall, if there was more sauce or seasoning it might make this better. Garlic fries: 2/5: it was decent. Fries were perfectly crispy but it lacked garlic and cheese. Actually there was no cheese. And small chunks of garlic. Would be better if they added a bit more garlic and some cheese. Lychee green tea: 2/5: it had a faint lychee flavor with tons of lychee bits. Loved the lychee bits but I felt like there wasn't enough lychee flavor. I did try my friends garlic noodles with beef and the noodles tasted a bit off. Couldn't put my finger on what kind of sauce was used. Maybe more seasoning would help? Not sure, but maybe when they work out some of the kinks we will try this place again. One thing that was good was they gave us complimentary ice cream at the end of the meal. They let you pick different sauces (including pepper or curry sauces, among others) if you so desire. Make sure to mix your dish as you watch the meat cook. The flavors are good! The beef, rice, and corn pair well with the sauces. It's also nice that the dish comes with paper wrapped around the entirety of the bowl, which prevents the food from spilling over when you mix the dish for the meat to cook. I've also ordered the karaage as appetizer before. Slightly disappointed in this choice, as the chicken simply tasted like popcorn chicken. I first heard about this place when I was with my friends during a photoshoot for my school. The place is a small business but they have another branch in Sacramento. The food here is very good and I enjoyed the atmosphere. I had the beef pepper rice and it was easy for me to do despite the steam coming through me. Super Pan was something I've seen in passing speeding down Geary... but since I was actually eating in the area, I couldn't help but stop by and have a second dinner or light snack as I put it. You can say it's the SF version of Pepper Lunch in Milpitas, but not as busy and a lot smaller! Stopped by around 730pm and there was no wait. You actually have to enter through the boba shop and then it becomes Super Pan. We got a table right away and the menu. There's also a menu for drinks from the boba place that can be delivered to you. It is a pretty extensive menu and there's a variety of sauce and topping options! Pictures always help too. I like that there was a bunch of appetizers and they all sounded appealing actually (something like what you would get at your local i-Tea or T4 like HK fried snacks such as onion rings, curry fish ball, or french fries. I saw a lot of pictures for the salmon pepper rice, but I opted to get the #2 which is the beef pepper rice just be able to compare with Pepper Lunch. I like the fact that it came with a paper border so when you poured the sauce in, it doesn't splatter everywhere. They also have four types of sauce: garlic pepper, curry sauce, tomato sauce, and white creamy sauce. They didn't ask what I wanted, but I ended up with the garlic pepper. It came out super quick. The meats were thinly sliced but it was enough to share with two people so I was happy about that. I have to say overall, Pepper Lunch is better because of their house garlic butter and that really topped it over in terms of flavor.
