Was torn between this and another seafood restaurant and sadly Super shack ruled themselves out. Not only was the sauce on my seafood incorrect but one of my clusters of crab legs was slimy and had a 'different' smell to it. I had to throw the whole thing away. Walked in on Sunday afternoon around 2pm maybe to order takeout. The place was not crowded at all. Good for me. LOL. Ordered the fried 3 shrimp and 1 filet combo. It did not take long to get my order at all. Sat down inside to wait and noticed its a well kept restaurant. Everything was clean. Now to the food - it was all seasoned well. really enjoyed the shrimp but the cornmeal batter on the catfish was so thick and overwhelming. They provide adequate tartar sauce, which is nice. The fries were just so so. Maybe because they had time to cool a little on the way home they lost some crunch but some of them seemed a bit old. Everyone was very nice and cordial. The food was very prompt and the place was clean. The food had zero taste my wife and I had the crawfish. I'm from Texas but I've had plenty of crawfish over the years. I really dont understand how the crawfish could have no taste. That sure was an expensive meal, for food that tasted like the stale crackers the have on all the tables. I can see how it easy to keep the stale crackers on the tabels since they have no experation date on them. My wife enjoyed her enchilada. My steak was tough (not $28 restaurant quality) but the onion rings were very good. The reason for the low rating was that the men's restroom was hideous. The garbage can overflowed with paper towels, the sink had primitive handles that were hard to use, one urinal was completely gone with the scar on the wall, and the floor was sticky throughout. Was craving a crab boil so we decided to check this spot out. Prices aren't too bad for the amount of food you get. Shrimp in the crab boil tasted like it came out of a dirty river, typical Texas shrimp. Sauce was good though. Let's talk about their chicken pasta! OMG the best I've ever tasted hands down. Cool vibe type of place. The margaritas looked amazing, I'll try one the next time! The reason I gave only 3 stars was due to the nasty shrimp in the crab boil and the fact I had to ask for gloves and the gloves they gave seemed to be gloves they fished out the back. Been coming here for few years, food was always good up until recently, we got fried catfish, spicy shrimp and fried calamari. It's bright and clean with decent prices. The taste was good. I had the clam chowder which was ok, (had the darker appearance vs a creamy white chowder) and onion rings that are flakey, not much seasoning. Hubby had the fish and chips which was fairly good. The fish was fresh and flaky and the fries were seasoned well. We could have split his fish and chips as they come with a lot of fries and 4 fish planks. See pics. Good food that reminds me of "Joe's Crab Shack" of the West coast. You walk in, stand in line and order your food. If you dine in, they bring the food out to your table. Good service. Thoughtful employees. Be warned that weekend nights can be super busy. This past Friday we stood in line for 20-25 minutes before ordering. Figure another 20 minutes for your food to come out. Fresh servings of seafood and other options. Reasonable prices. Would be 5 stars but standing in line waiting for 25 minutes isn't a 5 star experience. Most of the food was just meh... and that's the good part! The snow crab shells were soft and covered with black spots (freezer burn? mold?) the meat inside was mushy and in edible. We are avid seafood lovers and we love the flavor of the spicy boiled shrimp and their fried shims baskets. They make great Micholadas but struggle if you ask for a mixed drink. After waiting a while I finally went to the counter to ask where my meal was. The person acknowledged it, but still never brought my food. It finally got a point where everyone was halfway through their meals. At that point I went to the counter and requested a refund for the meal I had ordered. Stand in line to order food and drink. Nice staff bring your food to the table. Food was delivered hot, but the flavor of the food was so so. My friend ordered crabs. The crabs smelled funny, so he sent them back and had them replaced with a good batch. The raw oysters were small and the taste was so so. Few condiments. No horse radish, for example.
