I can't get a stylist to do only what I ask and no more. I only ever want the back trimmed and evened out since my hair has grown out. Linda trimmed the back, but took it upon herself to buzz the sides of my head (unevenly I might add) and then took at least 2 inches off the front when I specifically said don't touch the front. You might ask why I didn't stop her. Well, she's buzzing the back, as she should, but then quickly goes to the right side above my ear and buzzes it off. At that point I was just shocked and didn't know what to say so I had to have her do the other side too even it out. Don't ever get a haircut here. We arrived at 8:30 and there were two haircuts. We asked the lady if she is okay to accommodate two people as they close at 9. She said okay and started the first haircut. She seemed more interested in selling us the shampoo than the actual haircut. Also it took her all of a min or two to finish the first cut which was not even done properly. We were waiting for someone else to do the second haircut but later she said she will be doing it and we couldn't say no. Our mistake. So she hardly did the haircut and was like oh its done. We told her that we want it shorter to which she replied "it's 9 and we are late". This completely shocked us. Was she expecting us to leave with half a haircut? We asked her to at least finish it properly, to which she gave a weird look. Ummm seriously, didn't we ask you earlier if you were okay to do two haircuts? All in all a bad experience. This place should be called SuperRude or SuperBad instead. I made an appointment at 11AM with Robert Nguyen since he was the only one available. When I arrived, he asked me to wait 20 minutes since he wanted to eat his lunch early. After 35 minutes, he came back and cut my hair in 10 minutes. He did it such bad job that I had to go to another place and pay extra $30 to get it fixed. I don't know the other hairdressers there, but I definitely will NOT recommend Robert Nguyen. read more

For the longest time, I've only let one person touch my hair since my hair is kinda of hard to work with, but since my usual stylist is out of the way, I've been coming to this Supercuts for my last few hair cuts. I haven't had a bad cut....yet. Good service and the place is clean, but the stylist seem almost robotic and they don't usually converse with you unless you talk to them first or, I guess, if you are a regular. Went there for my 12 years old daughter as I was told it would be cheaper than my usual hair salon close to our home. Entered, selected the $14 junior hair cut on their system. Then I was asked if I wanted a Blow dry for my girl. I did not know what it was and was not told about any price increase. Final price: $54!!!! After saying that I was surprised by such price I obtained a price reduction to $49!! And was asked what tip I wanted to add!!! just had one of the worst customer experiences of my life. I showed up at 8:58am when the store opened at 9. I waited 35 minutes for a 5 minute haircut. the staff was late getting to work and wasn't read to take customers at 9. then, they dilly dallied with other customers while 3 of us were waiting. one of the hair stylists spent 10 minutes talking to another customer before even touching his hair. the power went out during their hair cuts which cost everyone another few minutes. then when I finally got in the chair to get my hair buzzed, my stylist accidentally cut WAY too much hair near my ear and then ARGUED with me saying that I "don't grow hair there" despite it being completely asymmetrical from the other side. to top it off, the receptionist (who barely speaks any English) charged me an extra dollar (added 1 dollar bigger tip than I requested. yes I tipped even after all this crap.) And then said she couldn't figure out how to refund the charge. WTF is this place. I'll be going somewhere else from now on. read more

We love this particular Supercuts, and always request our favorite stylist, Aurora. My son just had his hair cut by Aurora. He is a freshman in high school, and she is very good about cutting it exactly how he requests. She has done my hairstyle too. I highly recommend this location as most of the stylist are very good. It is not trendy, but if you want a good basic cut that is not too expensive - this is the place to go! read more

This Place sucks! A hair dresser named John.P , he is a hawker. His concentration is just to make money by selling the products to the customer and does not concentarte on Hair cutting. I got my worst haircut in my life. He suggested me to go for Keratin treatment and my hair got burned.NEVER GO FOR IT ON HIS SUGGESTION. He attends multiple customers at a time. I couldn't really tell what she was doing, it seemed kind of random. But when I got home and looked in the mirror, perfect. Long on top, blended on the sides. I agree that Sue is good - nice lady , there are couple of nice ladies who cut hair there. But the men are somewhat arrogant and rude. there is guy steve , who has an attitude... also, they now charge $2 extra if you want to cut your hair with your preferred person. I think this is not fair since you always want to cut your hair with the person you are used to. Just like you go to your regular doctor or dentist - you want your regular person to cut your hair. Been here twice with my boys. They just don't care. Our first time, the haircut was sloppy on my older son who wanted his hair crewcut. They had no idea what that was. The second time, was for my younger son who has lovely long hair. He wanted it trimmed for his halloween costume. I specifically told the lady to please cut an inch off the back and give him a layer. I turn around and she's butchering his hair with the clippers. I don't get it, don't all people who cut hair know what layers are? My son was in tears and I was close to them. That was the last time I'll go! I asked her what she was doing and she was so clueless and didn't care either! Seriously go somewhere else. Grace is a world class hair stylist and star of this location. Jackie, another stylist at this location initially gave me a bad haircut and I had to go back to get it fixed. Grace fixed my haircut for free and transformed the original bad haircut into an extremely good haircut. Grace's skills and customer service are both top notch. They should give a promotion and raise to Grace for her excellent skills, customer service and for making up for the faults of others on the team. read more

I used to come here all time for my haircut from around 2005-2010. I moved out of state for a few years and came back just a few months ago. I have come here 3 times since I have been back hoping I have just had a real bad stylist and hoping I see the Persian woman that used to cut my hair before. She was awesome. No such luck. I think she is gone. Which means 3 strikes this place is out. Been in 3 times and each time my haircut was horrible. The staff at this location has been a team together for many years and it shows. They all get along and do the best job possible. As much as I like some of the hair dressers here, it is just ridiculous if you have to wait for an hour, even after an appointment. If you value time this is not the place. Update: I did get the haircut after the wait and am very happy with it. They gave me a $2 credit, I understand it is a token, no issues, it's not the money as my tip was more than it. I understand some customers may come in for some service and then decide for more which can take extra time. But then let the customers with reservation know the reality so they can plan. In my case 39 min after the time reserved I even offered to reschedule to a different time or day as I had to take my daughter for soccer. I was told 5 min more which ended up lot longer. There are way better ways to handle customers: both who demand more service than initially asked and ones who booked online thinking they can avoid long wait. Recommendation to business - value your customers. You have some good hair dressers but if you cannot provide proper customer service you'll loose customers like me. I was a loyal Super cuts on Prospect Rd customer till they messed up with service on several occasions. Please don't stoop to that level and fix the issues. read more

I have been here several times now. I have liked the haircuts I have received here (good for $14). Also the place is very clean. However I recently discovered that you need to pay $2 extra if you want your hair cut by a particular stylist (aka "request"). This is fairly strange practice for an inexpensive salon like supercuts. However what bothered me more was that I wasn't told about this until after the hair cut. I have always been to salons that charge ~$15 and haven't ever come across such a policy. The problem with inexpensive salons like Supercuts is that they are bound to have ~20% of really lousy stylists and frequent new stylists. So if you want to go here regularly, be prepared to pay couple of extra bucks. So, with that a normal men cut would cost $20 here ($14 + $2 request + $2 Shampoo + $2 tip). At $20, this would not fall under the inexpensive category. I would rate it 3 star if its in the "moderate price" category. However since it is currently listed as "inexpensive", I am rating it as 2 star. I would recommend Maly for Indian men cuts or anyone else who prefers to keep longer hair. read more

Since I only go here for a particular stylist, this review is only for one stylist at this Supercuts...Robert. Have been going to see Robert for over 15 years when he worked at another store. He is so good, that I will follow him wherever he goes. Not only do I always get a great haircut, but he has changed with the times and has kept current so if I choose to "change up" my hair style...I would trust him to make it look great. Being an Asian with straight, black hair with a current preference to have it cut short...it would be easy to see mistakes from an untrained/inexperienced stylist. Robert has never given me a bad haircut. Always precise and detail oriented. Beyond the haircut, Robert is very personable. Easy to talk to and have a light conversation with to pass the time while he works on the haircut. So, I will repeat what a previous reviewer said..."Come here and ask for Robert. I know I know its Supercuts, people think it has such a bad rep, it's actually not that bad. Apparently hair cuts and hair dye can become a very personal matter... I came here a few months ago to get highlights, it was actually a very simple process. Spontaneous. She showed me the color swatches of the hair, ranging from light blonde to browns caramels and dark browns I guess. I picked the lightest, perhaps too light, too cool for my skin tone, but I asked her how it'd turn out and she said get it it'll look good! I say why not, after all I'm paying for it and how much can you screw up highlights. Plus its just for fun, and who cares. So I pick it. It takes her about an hour, or actually less than an hour to highlight my hair...make small talk in the process as everyone does right. Afterwards she blew dried my hair...but was drying my bangs all weird so I asked if I could just dry them and she's like sure. Yeah the highlights were very bright but that's what I wanted...something different and so tired of just brown hair or light brown highlights I just wanted to go all out. Kind of reminded me of the highlights that were so popular in early 2000's...yeah those that I never got because, well there was no way I was going to do it by myself (at least, full-out doing light highlights) and no way I was going to pay for it...definitely not the $130 I spent (including tip) at Supercuts. The lady was nice, her name was Kardelina and she was the manager...very nice. Overall I was pleased with my highlights, I think they made such a statement. I mean, sometimes people didn't recognize me, and I was like, what, how could you not recognize me? And then oh, like, its the hair. Yeah, the hair. Oh well, it's dyed back to brown, reddish brownish, the nice brown that's dark but not deathly goth like dark. Just nice. Supercuts is good, I'd recommend it, get over the name. It's good! read more
