I got the steak and eggs from the brunch menu and for $33 it was not great the flank steak was tough and the eggs were pretty standard and the soup that came with it had beans and bacon, but it was way too salty. A disappointing 3 hour superica experience caused by horrible service and management at the buckhead location. My boyfriend and I waited 1 1/2 hours for a table (totally okay) only to be ignored by the waitstaff for 15-20 minutes with no server, water, chips, or salsa. We started making eyes around until a manager noticed, came over and asked if he could get us guacamole and queso and apologized, this made us feel better. Our whole experience could've been great from here. But nope, we waited probably another 15 minutes for that guacamole only for our server to come by and see it wasn't there, and it was not compensated, just added to our bill, even though the manager came over and apologized and offered to grab that for us. That was surprising as it should've been free since he offered and we waited for a very long time for it as well, why was it offered? Our tacos came with no onions and a soggy tortilla at the bottom of my plate as if it'd been sitting for a bit. I also thought my order came with rice and beans, not a soup and have never received this before. This is horrible service, bad management, and we will not be back at this location. The decor, service, and food at Superica were all equally great. We went on a Saturday afternoon and only had to wait 3 minutes for a table for 5. Complementary chips and green/red salsa were brought out almost immediately after we sat down and our server was excellent!!! She checked on us very often and immediately sent our food back when we realized we we forgot to mention allergens when ordering. We got queso for the table and each got our own meal, all of which were delicious. This Texan was craving some tex mex and a good margarita. I've been to two other locations. By far the one at the battery is my favorite. So they no longer have the vegetable enchilada and as a vegetarian I only saw two options - the fajitas (not my fave thing in the world) and the spinach enchiladas. I opted for the spinach enchiladas. It was okay. Lacked flavor and salt. I ended up adding the salsa on top which made it so much better. Their queso I really do like. And their margaritas are delicious. The service was amazing, my waiter was great! So basically will be back for queso, chips, salsas and margaritas. read more

This place is good. We went on a Thursday and it was soo busy which was surprising but that tells you they're good. The parking lot is huge but you might have to walk. It's in a shopping center with rolled ice cream and a few other things. The wait was about 20 minutes and they have a nice lobby area with seating and pretty decorations to look at. It's like an upscale tex Mex style place. They gave complimentary salsa in red and green varieties and both were really good. Not the standard bright red, but this one was a deep smokey tomato red. I had chicken nachos and they were good! Not the traditional stacked nachos but they put the toppings on each chip. The chicken were cut into huge pieces but they a good amount. I have heard many Atlanta locals rave about this spot and had to check it out. We went on a calm day so it was nice because usually walking by Krog, this spot is extremely busy. The one thing I didn't really like was that- where we were seated was extremely dark. I had to put the menu up my face to see it as my eye sight isn't the best. Superica is my new fav Mexican food restaurant when I don't want to drive all the way to Nuevo Laredo Cantina. The restaurant is nice and clean, which I appreciate. I put my name on the waitlist and checked in when I arrived. I don't think the waitlist did anything really..... when I put my name on the waitlist, it says there was 20-30min wait. But after I arrived, the hostess said the wait is gonna be 15-20min, and it took me about 20min to get to the restaurant. So you do the math..... and we ended up waiting for like 35min before we get seated. Onto the food, the steak tampiquena and steak fajita were both excellent. I liked their rice and beans too. Service was great as well, very attentive staff. Overall, I'm glad i checked out this spot. Now if I ever crave Mexican food and am nowhere near Midtown, I have an alternative. I've frequented this place a lot more since my initial review so I think it's only fair that I update my review. I've always had a positive experience here and the food is consistently good. Staff is always incredibly nice even when they're slammed. I was recently here celebrating my birthday (because this is one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta) and our waiter brought out tres leches cake which was hands down one of the best desserts I've ever had. Came here on a weekday night around 9pm so it was close to closing time which is at 10pm. Even though it was a weekday night and almost closing, there was still a good number of people here! Parking here is no problem as it's in a shopping center. When we walked in I noticed how cool the decorations of this place were, they felt random but well thought out at the same time. The lightIng of the restaurant was very dim. I waited less than a minute before being seated at a booth. My waiter was a friendly guy who was attentive and pretty funny too! For my dinner I ordered the Cheese Enchiladas which were pretty good. It came with beans and rice which were pretty tasty. I loved how cheesy and delicious the enchiladas were (there was two) and they went perfectly with my sides! Another cool thing about this place was that they brought free chips with two different choices of sauces, pretty good but the chips were a bit on the salty side. If you're ever in the Buckhead area, check this place out whenever you have a craving for some Mexican food. Overall the finding of Superica was easy, parking was no problem, service was great, ambiance nicely done, and the quality of food was pretty good. Did not like that the side lettuce/tomatoes were so minuscule in comparison to the amount of protein provided. We also had asked for extra tortillas about 4 times and didn't receive them until we left, which is why I'm rating the service 3/5. I do feel as if the meal was overpriced though, for $50 I would have expected more lettuce/tomatoes etc. Probably wouldn't make the effort to drive there because of the price, but food was nonetheless delicious. read more

When we were finally seated we had thee most amazing customer service! We actually got a bag of chips to go with salsa. They just hand out chips and salsa here... It's like how I imagine heaven. We ordered the queso fundido, which came with fresh tortillas and was greatttt (none of that watery cheese stuff). I ordered these fried golden tacos, which were good but felt more appetizer appropriate to me. My grandmother ordered shrimp fajitas (not on the menu, but just order it okay you won't regret it). Them thangs were huge and they were soooo delicious. Just cooked to perfection y'all! So basically I ate most of her food. She also ordered chicken soup, which she said was excellent. The drinks were also great! They also have flavored water drinks (which our sweet waitress gave us on the house) that they change daily I believe. Honestly, they are so good next time I'll just ask the waiter to make it an alcoholic beverage lol. I didn't even mention the decor, but it's decked out in exactly the decor you might imagine when you think of Tex Mex, but more upscale. Rest assured: the food here is fantastic, and there is a great atmosphere. I haven't had a single item that I disliked. Unfortunately it's difficult to have a great experience here because they do not take reservations and they are consistently packed during typical hours. They have a "waitlist" that you can add yourself to online, but every single time I've tried to use it it is "temporarily disabled". So then you're kind of playing a risky game just showing up... you might get seated in 20 mins, there might be a two hour wait. How can I recommend this place to new people or bring new customers when it can be so difficult to get seating? To avoid this, we used to order online and pick up the food to-go. First note that the last few times I've attempted to do this, they have disabled to-go orders. Secondly note that when they had the feature up, we had SEVERAL issues between missing food, cold food, the order taking 1.5 hours to prepare. So although we love the food here, these issues definitely cast a shadow over the work. read more

I've been to Superica twice. Both visits were positive experiences but tonight was the best. Stopped in for dinner before it got super busy. This is a very popular place. Good mix of a crowd, singles, couples and family friendly. I ordered a chicken suiza enchilada and a chicken tinga taco. Both were very enjoyable! To drink I had the dahlia and a matador. My server, Nate, recommended the dahlia and I was surprised at how much I liked it. Nate was very attentive and helpful. He had a positive attitude and made sure I had what I needed. Good food with a side of racism. Went here on a date and our waiter was just terrible. Had to always asked for refills, after about 45 minutes after we arrived instead of asking if we needed anything else, he asked if we were ready for the check. After he brought the check, he disappeared. We went to the front to pay and went outside to sit and talk. FIVE STARS! This was my first time at the Roswell location of Superica because I usually visit the Krog street location - I am a huge fan of this chain! I love the food, decor and just overall ambiance. This location was just as great as the other locations that I have visited. I really wish that I could remember the servers name because he was awesome! I came in with my sister a little before the lunch rush and were seated right away. Everyone from the hostess, to the servers, manager, etc were extremely kind and helpful. I appreciate that my water cup was never empty and the chip basket stayed full! Superica opened its second Atlanta location in July 2016 in Buckhead. The last time I came to this spot, it was an Outback Steakhouse (https://www.yelp.com/biz/outback-steakhouse-atlanta) and that was years ago. Not sure if anything has been here in between. Superica is part of the Chef Ford Fry restaurant empire. Currently, I think his restaurant group is the best in Atlanta, edging out other established groups like Buckhead Life and Fifth Group Restaurants. Fry's restaurants are generally good to great. I'd put Superica in the "good" category. It's good for what it is, which is casual Tex-Mex. Both locations of Superica are Fry's only restaurants in the Atlanta area that do not take reservations. I'm not sure why that is. Maybe they want to make lots of money selling liquor to waiting customers at the bar. The original location at Krog Street Market is often packed with long waits. This new location in Buckhead has become popular too. That said, Superica is also the most casual of Fry's restaurants. Whereas places like Marcel and The Optimist offer a more "fine dining" experience, Superica is more along the lines of BeetleCat or JCT. Kitchen, which have more relaxed, laid back settings and relatively lower prices. The Friday night we visited Superica Buckhead, the atmosphere was loud and energetic, similar to a fun, festive bar. A band started playing live music around 9pm. The restaurant was quite busy when we showed up around 6:30pm. They were able to seat us almost immediately, even though not everyone in our party had arrived. Like all of Fry's restaurants, the buildout and design of Superica Buckhead looks fantastic from the bold neon lights and theme-appropriate cacti outside to the amusing and eclectic Western decor inside. One wall is covered in black-and-white framed mugshots of what look like Wild West outlaws while another sports 38 sets of steer horns (yeah, I counted). Our cozy booth had its own rustic lamp along with a power outlet that had both traditional sockets and USB ports - nice to have in case anyone needed to power/charge any devices. Every booth on our row had these. Weekday lunch specials cost $10.99 and breakfast and brunch ($9-15 per plate) is served Saturday-Sunday, 10am-3pm. Dinner and other menu items include appetizers like tamales (3 for $12), flautas and nachos ($10-12 each); soups and salads; fajitas ($20-24), enchiladas (2 for $11-13), and taco plates ($12-16); and entrees like short rib ($34), tampiquena steak ($26), roasted whole snapper, and a $16 burger. The house tortilla chips were too salty, so we asked for unsalted chips (much better). Medium thickness. Salsas included a fire-roasted salsa and an avocado tomatillo salsa. Both were delicious and neither were very spicy. They also had a housemade hot sauce which wasn't bad. Deep red and fiery. Like other Mexican restaurants, I could keep eating and eating Superica's chips and salsa. We got an order of the guacamole ($8) which came with fresh slices of radish, sprigs of cilantro, and a wedge of lime, along with a small plate of tostadas. The guac was excellent, though I didn't like the tostadas, which were basically like thicker, oilier versions of tortilla chips. Salty as well. I ate the guac with our unsalted tortilla chips instead. I had the mesquite-grilled quail ($22) which came with two pork tamales smothered with chili con carne and cheese. The quail was very good and among the best I've tried. A small bird of course, but surprisingly meaty and flavorful. It was served bone-in, as quail usually is, but I didn't mind all the bones too much because I ate this one with my hands. The bird was served on a hot skillet, just like the ones they use for their fajitas, with plenty of cooked white onion, a seasoned and cooked green poblano pepper, a lime wedge, and fresh, raw cilantro on top. The tamales were wonderful. Seasoned, tasty shreds of pork were stuffed inside yummy layers of cornmeal and covered in a meaty (beefy) and cheesy sauce. These were appetizing and expectedly heavy and filling. It made up for the size of the quail. I also tried the chicken breast fajitas ($21). Decent portion size, but not ginormous like some Mexican restaurants' fajitas. Like the quail dish described above, the chicken fajitas came with white onion, a poblano pepper, and lime (no cilantro). Sides included Mexican butter, guac, and pico de gallo. The Mexican butter was melted and basically a foamy oil to add richness to the fajitas. The chicken breast was marinated and wood-grilled. It was lean (tender enough) with lots of char. Good quality chicken. This is a relatively healthy option if you forgo the butter. Terrific service. If you're wondering how to pronounce Superica, say it like two words: Super Rica ("REE-kah"). In the end, I give Superica Buckhead 3.5 stars rounded up to 4. read more

Randomly came here after not finding a low carb breakfast place I wanted eat at. They have brunch from 10-3 to my surprise! Yay eggs for me! So far the coffee.....no bueno. It's tastes burnt. My server is very nice. You get comp chips and dip. Green and brown dip. Both are not spicy which awesome. Been waiting for a bit here for my meal. Longer than expected for a what seems small brunch item, the Migas plate. Food finally got here and it was good! The 2x refried beans are the closest I've tasted to home cooked by a Mexican granny I used eat with many times. A bit too salty but Def spot on minus the cheese and salt topped all over it.
