This company was used by my home owners insurance, guy came out said he could fix it no problem and then three days later my job was marked complete by the company. Confused, I called my insurance who said that the company said my washer was fine. I asked them to call them again to ask which they did and the people kept to the same story. I asked them to come out again and look again and all of the sudden they were too busy and couldn't find the time so insurance had to reach out to another company. Very poor communication. Needed to have the tech come out a 2nd time. Tech never tidied up after themselves and left items they had moved during the call, in the middle of the room. When the tech finished up after the 2nd call he shared with us that he needed to order a part for the clothes washer. After not hearing back from the company for 5 weeks, I placed a call and left a message (they have never had a live person pick up any of my calls). I was able to get a call back a week later and the office manager shared that they closed out the service request because the tech couldn't duplicate the problem on his visit. So the tech said one thing to us but the office closed it out with no notification to us. Now I make it a habit when I call American Shield to get all the options on local service providers and I choose the one with the best reviews. I would give minus or zero stars if I could. My home warranty company sent these cretans out to assess my leaking dishwasher...a dishwasher that is 25 years old. This moron was here for 15 minutes and reported back to the home warranty company that the dishwasher was leaking due to poor maintenance! As a result of which the home warranty company would not pay to fix the dishwasher. After they already charged me a $100 call out fee on top of the $65 I'm paying them every month for the warranty. And then this asshole from superior wants me to pay him to fix or replace the dishwasher! Fuck No! Lesson learned. WARNING: DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE IN YOUR HOUSE. I have had several encounters with these clowns. 1st issue: My dishwasher was repaired by them under my home warranty, it quit working within 6 months. We called them back out to repair it again (I had to pay deducible a second time) They told the home warranty there was someone in there tampering with the dishwasher and that's why it quit working! They were the last ones who had worked on it! I got frustrated and just bought a new dishwasher. 2nd issue: Clothes washer stopped working. They sent Superior Appliance back out and they looked at the washer for 2 minutes and said it's moldy. You have to buy a new one, a hazmat team must come out to remove it!!!!! The washer was broken for 1 week so I found this very hard to believe. The home warranty sent out a different repair company, it was inspected and repaired, there is no evidence of mold. The second repair company said musty smell is normal for a front load washer. Superior Appliance will try to get your home warranty to cancel so they do not have to fix it. My review is shockingly similar to many others for this company on Yelp. The repair person came out. Was here a very short time and told me he had to order a part to repair the cooktop. It would take about 2 weeks to get the part. This was early in December. It was the holidays so I did not think too much about it. I then received a report from my home warranty that said that the issue was a maintenance issue due to us not cleaning the cooktop and that I would have to work directly with the repair company to get my cooktop fixed. Even then I said fine even though my kitchen is cleaned daily and professionally every 2 weeks. BTW. At this point, I still thought they were ordering a part to fix it and I was willing to pay for the work. Silly me, I did not realize they were doing nothing. When I called to get more information from Superior Appliance about the part being ordered, a few weeks later, my call kept going to voicemail and they took over a week to return my call. The office person, who seemed to be an older man whom I spoke to before to schedule the work, was unhelpful and said he had been sick with Covid. I was sympathetic but wanted some answers. He could not or would not give me any other information. He just said that the home warranty company had denied my claim and that it was a cleaning issue. I told him it was very clean and still not working and repeated that his technician told me that he was ordering a part. He finally said that he would talk to the repair person and call me back. Surprise, no callback. (This is now a month later in Jan.) I called and appealed to AHS and they said that I could request a second opinion but if the answer was the same then I would have to pay an additional fee. I agreed because I was fairly sure that it was not a cleaning issue as it was clean and still not working correctly. If you are curious about the problem, the stove top ignitor on one burner kept "clicking" after lighting the cooktop. and I had to unplug it to get it to stop. I was still able to use it by lighting the stove with a lighter. The new repair person was wonderful (from a different company). He diagnosed the issue quickly and honestly and is ordering the part, a switch of some type, which was not expensive, online. He will come back next week to install it. Funny enough he told me that this is a common complaint for this company from other customers. He knew their reputation of stating it was a user "maintenance issue" and that they just wanted to collect their fee from AHS and move on, not doing any detailed work. From the other Yelp review, it appears that we are not alone. I trusted AHS to use reputable companies to perform work for them but I will be more cautious in the future and check reviews first. Do not use this particular repair company if you can help it. This is not a review of AHS as they were very helpful and if I had asked for a second opinion earlier, I would probably have been able to get it fixed sooner. The misleading and inaccurate report from Superior was confusing and caused us unnecessary delay in getting our appliance fixed. I will write another review for the second appliance repair person who was wonderful but will wait to make sure my cooktop gets fixed next week. :-) read more

If I could give this company 0 stars I would. First off the company is very difficult to reach. When I call all I get is an answering machine and have to leave messages. My refrigerator ice maker broke and did not work. It was not making ice or dispensing ice. I have American Home Shield and they use this company for their appliance repairs. On this day I was on a conference call for business when this technician came out to see what was happening. I was upstairs on the phone and I went downstairs to let him in my home and briefly described to him what was going on and then I went back to my conference call. A few minutes later I heard a loud noise and I went downstairs and the technician was hurrying from the kitchen and I asked him what was wrong and he stated that there was a lot of repairs that needed to be done and I asked him what specifically was wrong and he stated there were a lot of things wrong and he would send report over to American Homeshield. Also I wanted to add the technician was not very friendly and seemed like in a rush to get out of our home. After he left I pulled out the icemaker to see what the noise was I had heard and noticed it was badly cracked on the base behind the icemaker. I was horrified on what I saw and it was not like that before. I showed my spouse and he stated he never saw that before. I called Superior Appliances and left message for someone to contact us and no one ever called us back. Fast forward I called American Home Shield and they advised us our claim was denied due to the fact the technician indicated the unit was damaged and it was not due to wear and tear. They also stated if I wanted to get a second opinion and if they state the same thing as the 1st company I would have to pay another service fee of $125.00. Being that our unit was now damaged we are stuck!!! So we ended up eating the initial $125.00 service that we were charged and a damaged icemaker. So based on this experience I will not be recommending Superior Appliance Repairs to anyone and also advising many of my close friends and neighbors to avoid them at all cost! read more

We knew better and insisted AHS send out another company, which they did. The new company confirmed the damage was normal wear and tear and ordered the parts the same day. They ruined our Refrigerator. I'll explain. Several months ago, American Home Shield sent them to our house. A flukie in a Hyundai came up (I cannot recall his name, which should tell you what type of individual he was). He was more interested in talking about the gas mileage his Hyundai gets than the actual repair. So, first (after he "fixed" the ice maker) it was constantly making ice to the point where we were forced to lift the bar, so it would stop. The ice was overflowing. Now, it flat out will not make ice. This wasn't a problem until this joker came up. Turns out, they used a part from EBay. Unreal. Also, the flunkie left his Shop Vac up here. Called three times and texted multiple times and he never reclaimed his junk. Just left it out in the front yard and we had to bring it in the house and then get rid of it, because he did not answer calls or texts. Do yourself a favor. Do not ever allow this company to work on any of your products. This company should be glad we cannot give them a "0" on YELP. Otherwise, their reviews would be even more poor. read more

I requested through my home warranty service on my dishwasher. I was assigned a representative from Superior Appliance. The guy was in my home for 15 minutes max. He stated I needed a new part, easy fix, said he'd have the part in 2 weeks and be back. After a month I called to check the status. Every time I called Superior I got voicemail, left a message and received no return phone calls. Called my home warranty and they told me to call Superior again. I got up early one morning and called Superior probably just as they walked in the door. The gentleman answering the phone told me that my insurance did not cover the part and he would need $200 before he could order it. I told him that my insurance covered it and he said they did not. I asked him why he had not called to tell me this before, and he told me it was NOT his job to call and tell me I had to pay for the part. That was up to my insurance company. I told him I would call my insurance. my insurance confirmed my understanding of the contract, that I was not responsible to pay for the part, that it was covered under my contract. My insurance company rescheduled Superior to come out and put the part in. I took the day off to be home when the tech was scheduled and the guy was a NO SHOW, NO CALL. . Superior apparently doesn't know what "customer service " is and practices unethically in trying to double dip customers. I highly recommend anyone with or without a home warranty to AVOID and NOT USE SUPERIOR APPLIANCE. read more

This experience tells me to take a sober view of these kinds of companies. It was a very sobering experience. I had an appointment scheduled for between 10 am and 2 pm. The contact who called me from Superior assured me that they would call the day before to firm up a time (THEY DID NOT). The contact also said that the tech would call when he was on his way (SEE BLELOW). This was a contactor for a home warranty company (American Home Shield). The time came and went. I left a couple of messages on Superior's answering service. Then I had to deal with American Home Shield, which turns out to not have a lot to do with America. So after two calls and wrangling with the operators in the Plilipinnes who could do nothing but read prompts I finally got in touch through American Home Shield's chat -- somebody who kinda helped. So I got my money for the service call back (or so they say). Then at 4:52 pm I got a text from Superior saying that they were busy and would be at my place in 45 miunutes. I texted back and let them know that the apointment has been cancelled. Two lessons--stay away from Superior Applican Repairs, it was a sobering Monday experience.. Stay away from American Home Shield unless you would rather support the Philipinne economy, via somebody who capitalises on "American" in their company name. read more

My dishwasher fan went out to called my home insurance. Scheduled technician to come out on 9/20. He came out and sat on my kitchen floor on his phone for 15 minutes then as he was walking out I asked him what's wrong with it? He said they have to order parts and they would call me. Cut to today and over 7 messages left on there office line because they never pickup (also a sign of a shady business.) I called home insurance and they said the "company" declined my claim because the owner top things apart which void warranty. Absolutely awful... Superior was selected by my insurance carrier AHS to complete an appliance repair. Dryer was making a loud banging noise from the drum as it would cycle. Several weeks later insurance company notified me that claim had been closed out with note "too much dog hair in dryer vent prolonged drying time". It appears they simply wanted their service call fee, but had no interest in trying to repair the dryer. I am filling a BBB complaint against the company, and potentially a complaint with the states insurance commission for fraud. read more

Funny that they have no website, use the phone number for Battle Born Heating and Cooling, and have a generic Yahoo email address. They do not have a Yelp history or a BBB listing. They do not answer calls, do not submit repair diagnosis reports to the home warranty company, and fail to return to fix the broken appliances. Is it just Battle Born doing side jobs? Having seen a lot of other reviews about this company, I was a little nervous when my home warranty company assigned them to repair the dryer that broke less than a week after we had a baby and really needed a functional dryer! But we got a call from the company the same day to establish a window for the tech to come the following day, and Rosalio arrived on time, was polite and professional, and made sure our machine was in good working order before he left. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!! My home warranty company (AHS) selected this vendor for a refrigerator repair. The refrigerator stopped working. I made a service request on a Sunday, the technician came out the following Tuesday. He said the compressor was not working. He needed to verify that the compressor warranty was expired. I verified the compressor manufacturing date, that it was out of warranty and the responsible for repair was with the home warranty company. I called AHS on Thursday for a status. They said they left a message and sent an email for them to respond. I called the same day and the VM stated they were doing a phone a computer update and would not be available until the following Monday. It's now Tuesday, they have ghosted me, and they reported to AHS that the repair was complete last Thursday. I'm now fighting with AHS and demanding a new service company. If I was able to rate this company a 0 star, I would have. Much like many of the reviews below, this company is extremley unreliable, they are liars and I would not allow their technicinas into my home ever again. This company was assigned to work on our washer machine. The technician, who did not give his name to my wife, came into our home reeking of cigarette smoke and with an attitude to match. He ran our washer with nothing in it and did not see the shaking we were worried about. He went to leave our home stating nothing is wrong with the unit before my wife asked him to please watch it with something in the washer while the cycles ran. The washer then started shaking as we had reported. From that point, without TOUCHING the washer, determined the barrings were broken and that it would be a very expensive fix(quoted a price of $1200 to $1300). He would submit his report to AHW as such. I received a call from AHW the next day stating the tech reported that the issues were due to abnormal wear and due to overloading.... This was NOT the conversation he had while in our home. We were then told by the warranty company, that due to Superiors report, our claim was being denied. I asked for a 2nd opinion(due this if this company is ever sent to your home and a false report was filled) and the next company that came out stated that this is a major issue with Superior and that other companies here in town come out for 2nd opinions on their work on a regualr basis. Not only did the next tech spend some time on the washer, they determined it was not the barrings and in fact the machine was off balance and the shocks simply needed to be replaced. A month later, we now have a fully functioning machine once again with no thanks to Superior Appliance Repairs. Do not use this company if you have any choice at all. read more

I was assigned Superior Appliance Repair by my home warranty company. After seeing the reviews I was very nervous. The call basically turned out as I feared. The technician first told me it was my fault my dishwasher was leaking because I didn't routinely clean the gaskets. OK, so my thought is do we replace the gaskets? Then he tells me that it was installed wrong and that's the problem. Interesting that the other two technicians I've had out over the years never mentioned this. He told me there was nothing he could do and that he'd tell the company I needed a new dishwasher. He said this as he was leaving my house. No paperwork, nothing in writing... Unfortunately, that is not what he told the warranty company. He told them something completely different than what he told me and that the problem was not due to "normal" wear and tear so we would have to pay out of pocket for a repair. My contract form the home warranty states I would have to use this company to do my repairs. I opted to buy a new dishwasher instead. I asked the gentleman that came to uninstall my old dishwasher and put in the new one if my old one had been installed incorrectly and he said it was not. This company is running a scam. read more

Superior as assigned by my home warranty co to repair a problem with my ice maker in October 2021. Donnie showed up said door motor bad and he would order parts. I asked about control panel not working properly and he said was intermittent problem and couldn't be fixed. Came back mid Oct. changed ice door motor and door. called next day still not working. Came back Nov 1 said control panel defective and he would contact American home for authorization. Called American home in mid Dec. to see what was status. they left message with Superior and sent Email. Called and left message with Superior and also text message to Donnie were the coming back to fix. NO RESPONSE. Called American Home they said company reported problem fixed and file had been closed. American Home has assigned a new repair company who showed up in one day and said will order replacement part Control panel. My advise is avoid this company at all cost and if you have a home warranty and they assign you Superior you call and request a different contractor. Superior Appliance in Reno/Sparks, NV is unethical, unreliable, and irresponsible. American Home Shield Home (AHS) Warranty used this company for a refrigerator repair. Superior Appliance canceled twice, claiming trucks issue. I checked out Superior Appliance on Yelp and noted 2 stars with multiple derogatory comments I attempted cancel Superior Appliance through AHS, but was advised Superior needs to cancel the work order. Meanwhile, Superior Appliance Technician showed up the next day and assessed the issue with my renter and advised he will be back next week with the replacement part. The next day, I received an email rejected claim from AHS because Superior Appliance tech wrote plumber putty was used to reduce the copper leak from compressor. The plumber putty was applied as temporary measure because of Superior Appliance delayed response. Superior Appliance rejected any work to be done because of the plumber putty to stop the pinhole leak on the copper line. However, the tech lied to my renter and said he will be back to fix it. Be cautious: This is Superior Appliance motive operandi, taking your $125 for service call and rejecting work based on unethical practices. Avoid Superior Appliance and AHS. I will be canceling my several warranties with AHS. read more

If I could leave 1 star I would. This service company was dispatched by my home warranty company for a leaking freezer. The home was newly remodeled with all new flooring. The tech comes out and spends literally less than 2 mins looking at the freezer and states you've got to defrost and I'll come back on Monday (this was a Friday). I had to get rid of so much food like as much as half a fridge would've cost (almost) as I had lots of meat. When he comes back late on Monday he spends even less time and states temp is fine now. I assume he knew what he was talking about. I leave my house for over 3 weeks only to come back to a large leak again. Home warranty (American Home Shield) opens another service request with same company. I've been waiting now over a week. Just learned that the home warranty company (American Home Shield) has the same dismal rating on the BBB as this "repair" company does on Yelp. Time to take legal action against both.
