Strawberry frozen margarita (half drank it was yummy)
    Juliette M.

Superior is such a classic Mexican restaurant on St. Charles! I came this time for a friend's birthday and they sat us in a back room which was very nice! It was busy, but the service was good and efficient. I ordered the chicken enchiladas and strawberry frozen margarita. The margarita was delish and strong, but overpriced. The enchiladas were good and a decent size for the price! I really like their food but it never wows me! Superior is a great place to celebrate!

Pros: Great location on St. Charles Friendly, attentive staff Loved the eccletic decor Lots of seating inside and out Wonderful food and beverages They never stop sending the chips and salsa The Heath pie is huge! Cons: Kitchen was a little slow getting our food out, but it was ok since we weren't in a rush Pro tip: Sometimes there's a street performer playing jazz and it's wonderful sitting outside to watch the street cars pass by

Three stars because of the drink, the service wasn't the best ! Sofia was nice, she bought us plastic utensils when we asked . Our waiter the guy, seems like he was avoiding us a little, wasn't very welcoming. (To me). The margarita was good ! This was my first time here! My chicken on my taco salad didn't taste like it was cooked all the way through . But the fajitas were great! The restaurant was empty, but it was clean . We sat at the bar !

The food was fresh and flavorful, and the Mexican dishes were packed with authentic taste. The margaritas were especially tasty--perfectly balanced and refreshing. Great atmosphere and friendly service made the experience even better. Definitely a spot I'd come back to for good food and drinks.

Hands down the best margaritas and sangrias in town -- perfectly balanced and super refreshing. The food was delicious, but the drinks really stole the show. The restaurant has a cozy, welcoming vibe that makes it easy to relax and enjoy the evening. Great spot for date night or catching up with friends.

So I've been itching to check out Superiors grill for some time time so I stopped by recently for a solo dinner to check it out. The decor itself is very cool and festive. Superior's has a real cozy feel to it. I sat in the front facing the windows out to St Charles. The party atmosphere was more in the bar area. Food was neither great or bad just sort of standard Mexican. The chips and Salsa were really good. I had a combo plate of enchiladas - chicken, shrimp, crawfish. Again very average. Service unfortunately was horrendous. It was not busy in there so where in the Hell my server kept disappearing to was an absolute mystery. For blocks at a time my server was no where to be found. No check back, no refills on water or margarita, but boy was she itching to put that check down. When I asked to see the dessert menu I got this look like, you gotta be kidding me? Then preceded to tell me in hush tones that I didn't want the desserts and coffee here because they were sub par when in realty she just didn't want to be bother with me anymore. I really didn't care and ordered the butterfingers pie and it was damned good! I'm glad I finally tried Superiors but there are so many other much better Mexican restaurants around than to settle on this mediocre place.

Being from Texas, I normally wouldn't choose a Mexican restaurant in Louisiana--but I'm so glad we stumbled upon this spot while staying at a nearby motel. We grabbed a seat at the bar and ordered the seafood chili con queso and the crawfish enchiladas--both were absolutely amazing. Rich, flavorful, and way better than expected! The margaritas were just okay--definitely tasted like they were made from a mix--but honestly, the food and the laid-back, welcoming atmosphere more than made up for it. A happy surprise in the middle of our trip!

I don't know why this place has subpar reviews... Our server (Jacob) was extremely attentive and kind, and our food was delicious. There was a minor problem with my salmon not being cooked quite enough, but that was easily rectified. Super accessible from the streetcar line too. We'd gladly come back next time we're in town!

Although they are pricy, no other places carne asada can even slightly compare. The marinade they use has a sweet mesquite flavor, that is unmatched by any other restaurant. & there in house made tortillas are amazing. After paying for shredded cheese (which doesn't come with it) & extra tortillas, it's usually costs about $50-$55. Which is expensive, but worth every penny!

I really turned up at their peak and it was a bit chaotic ordering a burrito to-go and then finding a spot that wasn't in anyone's way. They need a better system for this. The other downside was that my burrito was uneven - mostly rice on one end (too bland) and mostly veggies/salsa on the other (too intense after the blandness). Other than that, my Veggie Punk was one of the best burritos I've ever had :-) *It turned out that it's Happy Hour at Juan's all day on Monday - no wonder it was busy! There are four branches of Juan's Flying Burrito in NOLA and according to a Reddit poll this branch is a favorite, pipping the Mid-City branch by a few votes. Next time I may dine in and try out the Mardi Gras Indian Tacos (the best Southern Vegetarian Taco you've ever had, apparently). I'm also rating Juan's Flying Burrito 3.5 out of 5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact, based on the following: * Juan's has a reasonable number of vegan and vegetarian options, including some customer faves. * There's a lot of steak/beef on the menu. Reducing this would have a big impact on Juan's environmental footprint as beef is responsible for around 10% of greenhouse gases and is the major driver of global deforestation. Burritos and nachos would be great dishes for testing out beef-alternatives. Beyond Steak may be too pricey but a homemade seitan could work. * Juan's donates to various charities around the city, like homeless youth (Covenant House) and the Michael J Fox foundation (according to the ViaNolaVie blog). Seems to take good care of staff too. * Some items (salsas, dressings) are made from scratch and a few others (corn tortillas, beans) are sourced from local partners. There's no info on sourcing, that I can find, beyond this.

I started with their housemade hibiscus margarita with a tajin rim instead of salt. I thought it was good and not too sweet. The tacos, to me, were delicious. I think they have an option for anyone and they have some pretty unique combos. I loved the Korean inspired taco and their classic brisket taco. I did go for the tacos but I did get to try their guacamole and the amazeballs. The guac was not the best and you don't get much -- could've used more seasoning. I liked the amazeballs + they come with a really good chipotle aioli. I think this place has some things to work on while they get situated from reopening but I do think they have some great tacos!

So when our initial plan fell through last night (closed on Thursdays), we decided to go find it again not knowing the actual restaurant name. While we still want to try the other place, we were VERY happy to have found this spot. They have a very fancy drink menu. But we came for the burger which we all 3 got. Incredibly delicious! The quality of the beef used was top notch. Cooked to medium, it was juicy and so flavorful. They used good quality buns that could stand up to the juiciness. Very filling. Tender brioche bun. Quick pickle that the proprietor says is dill but reads bread and butter at best to my palate. Comes with raw red onion, so if that's not your kink dress it down. The aioli is lemon-spicy, and a great addition to the fries. Extensive cocktail menu will have me back. The blueberry hill (blueberry vodka, lemon juice, muddled blueberries, and cane sugar) was a balanced sweet and citrusy cocktail to start my meal.
