Yummy...yummy...yummy!! Their new head chef has really elevated the food from the Salsa to the tapaqueno steak. Chili hatch is still on the menu! Drinks are always the bomb from Chewbacca, Ed and Joel. The bar does go drinks but limited table seating with the guys attending to you. We wanted a small meal for lunch, because we had dinner plans. I saw that Superior Grill had 3 stars but we figured drinks and a quesadilla couldn't be bad. I concur the 3 stars. We sat at the bar. Our drinks came fast. We started to wonder if we would have quesadillas, because it took a while before the bartender came back to see if we wanted to order. Once we ordered it came fast and the 1/2 order (4 small triangles) was the perfect size. They were also good, not great. The 2 hostesses were staring at there phones mostly, but they did assist people who came in. Our bartender also spent time looking at his phone and the game playing on the TVs, more than serving. We waited about 20 minutes after we were finished and ready to leave, then we started trying to get the attention of one of the bartenders. We finally got the other bartender to acknowledge us. We saw her tell our bartender that we wanted our bill. He just walked off. We waited a little longer and realized he was not coming over. I ended up telling the manager we needed to leave and had not been given our bill. He got the bartender to give it to us. It was frustrating and disappointing. read more

As far as Mexican food goes, this place is just meh...not terrible but definitely not great. What this place lacks in food appeal, it makes up for with drinks. They have a great happy hour everyday from 3:30pm-6:00pm (who doesn't love a weekend happy hour?!) you can get a large margarita for the price of a small. Every Wednesday you can get 3 margaritas for only $10, you can not bet that deal! They serve free chips and salsa, not the best chips and salsa but it'll do. Came in with co workers after hours to grab some bites and a healthy serving of drinks and was not let down! Their guac is also freshhhh af. So disappointed in my most recent visit to Superior Grill. I've been dining here for over a decade and never have I had such a negative experience. The hostess was fine, told us it would be a small wait and she'd find us when a table was available. We went to the bar, ordered drinks and 15 minutes or so later the hostess found and seated us. There was no silverware on the table but we figured it would show once the waitress did. Our waitress arrived, she was nice, I think doing all she could but she seemed young and inexperienced. Perhaps even unaware. She offered us water and asked if we wanted drinks, having just ordered from the bar we were good on alcohol, and if we wanted any appetizers. We ordered regular guacamole & queso. Soon a man dropped off chips and salsa but still no silverware. Our waitress returned with the guacamole and queso but no silverware or appetizer plates (normally provided with the dips). Finally she returns and we ask for plates and silverware, she says she'll bring some as soon as they're out of the dishwasher... they ran out of clean utensils and plates? Then we order our main courses. My friend is a vegetarian and none of the salads come without meat of some sort. She asks for a salad that comes with chicken to come without and asks if she could replace it with mushrooms or avocado. The salad is a $15 dollar salad mind you. The waitress says they don't serve mushrooms and that she'll be able to add avocado to her salad in replacement of the chicken. Once our meals arrives there is not avocado on her salad and when she asks our waitress about it she says oh yes, she'll go get the avocado but it'll be an upcharge... for a salad... that costs $15... when she removed the "most expensive" part of the salad. Additionally, two other people at our table ordered the Baja Tacos, which come with a side of vegetables. Guess what was part of the side of vegetables.... mushrooms! Normally, the salsa and chips get refilled, they didn't. No one ever came around to fill our water glasses, we ended up asking if our waitress would as we paid the bill and we were never asked if we'd like to order new/more margaritas. The last little big of frustration was as we paid the bill. We reviewed the check to make sure there weren't any accidental add ons (avocado) and saw the queso's name looked like the one with chorizo added. We ordered the regular queso so we wanted to enquire. A man showed up to our table, calling himself the floor manager asking how our meal was and I point this out to him. Without a blink or a breath he looks at the queso and says "we'll, what's that in the queso, it looks like there was meat in there." There was no more queso in the bowl, we'd all been dipping our tacos and such in the queso and adding salsa too it. It was so rude. Our waitress came back, explaining to the floor manager we had not ordered one with meat and explained to us that the name was just what the queso was called. I'd say I eat here once every 2-3 months and find food and service alike to be good enough and consistent. But not this visit. I'm sure I'll be back to see if this is the new normal, I sure hope not. read more

So I had never been to this place but a lot of my coworkers and family and friends always talk about their margaritas so we decided to get it a shot here recently. I'll say that these folks obviously haven't had good Mexican cuisine before because I thought the food was terrible. We decided to order what they are known for which is their margaritas and fajitas, or at least according to their menu. The margaritas were ok but nothing special in my opinion. The fajitas were flat out horrible. I'm not sure what they do to their onions before they grill them but they taste like sauerkraut to me. Extremely bitter and certainly not the caramelized onion taste you want when eating fajitas. Update: currently having pretty severe gastrointestinal upset. Definitely not coming here again. Just didn't love it here. At all. The chips and salsa are great though the salsa really just tastes like regular jarred salsa. My $10 lunch burrito was upsold to steak for $13 and I regretted it entirely. The steak was in cubes with no seasoning. I resorted to covering the burrito in salsa to give it flavor. The rice was dry and clumpy and underseasoned. The beans were so soupy aaaand - you guessed it- flavorless. Our margaritas tasted like tequila not because they were strong, but because they also had so little flavor, the tequila was essentially all you could taste. The service was excellent but the food ruined it. We all agreed we shan't be back. Tl;dr: $27 for a steak lunch burrito and one margarita confirmed this is an overpriced tourist trap. read more

I love the chips and salsa they bring out (unlimited, so you can ask for more), and you can pay extra for queso and/or guacamole. Their food is just OK, nothing special. If you're looking for authenticity, this is probably not the place to go, but if you want a filling meal and good drinks, this is the place for you! Superior Grill is a staple semi upscale Tex-Mex restaurant that has most of your traditional Mexican favorites along with signature cocktails. The food is good I would say it's a little pricey for what you get. And sometimes their version of a traditional text mex dishes has unnecessary changes. The chimichanga is a great example. Rather than a traditional 68 ounce portion you receive your choice of 4 to 6 mini chimichangas. Due to their size when they're deep-fried the interior melts into one glob of mush, although tasty, a little off-putting texture wise. The Atrium is nice especially because in this location you don't have to deal with the thick linen tablecloths that you have to fight with in the dining room. When you're dealing with salsa and other sauces a cloth tablecloth is just not practical. I felt myself stressing about getting salsa on the tablecloth to the point where I was almost not enjoyable. I think that might be something for my childhood however. LOL prices are pretty reasonable service is good practically one employee for every customer during most hours. Even with its quirks I highly recommend for the atmosphere and good food. read more
