Finally made it to the new location (twice now). I'd eat here at least once a week if I lived or worked closer. This is everything food (and especially vegetarian food) should be. It's real ingredients (no fake processed faux meat), and crave-able, flavorful dishes. And menu items change regularly, so there is always something new to try! We opted to try some of the new menu items instead of the burger, which we have already had. I can't choose a favorite - the beans w/ pasta was so good, I'll order whatever "beans and.." combination is on the menu next time. It was hearty without being heavy. Crispy eggplant was delightful in texture and taste. Collards sandwich was savory on a fluffy and crisp piece of focaccia. Service was great, and the retro diner vibe is very fun and fits perfectly in the neighborhood. I know there is often a long wait, so suggest planning to put your name down and have a drink while you wait at one of the many bars close by. This burger diner is an absolute gem in the east village. It is reminiscent of the well known restaurant Dojo from the 1990s and early 2000s. The vibes are vintage decor, relaxed and casual. I went to Superiority Burger last Thursday and expected there to be a long line. We came on the earlier end (around 5:30) so there were actually a lot of tables open and were able to be seated immediately. In order to be seated, the entire party has to be present, which is important especially since you can't make reservations ahead of time. The service was pretty quick once we sat down, so we first ordered our appetizers: the burnt broccoli salad and the halloumi and beans (forgot the name of this dish but it's new). Both appetizers were pretty good but not outstanding. For my main, I obviously had to get the Superiority Burger, which was great, but pretty minimal for $17. It doesn't come with any sides or anything else so plating-wise does look pretty barren. That being said, it is a great vegetarian burger and you can taste the quality of the ingredients, so I also can understand the price. If you come to this restaurant, you also have to get dessert. If you're not super hungry, I would skip the appetizers and just get a burger and dessert. We ordered the banana bread, the ice cream cake, and the chocolate fudge cake. The chocolate cake came with a delicious ice cream covered in crunchy caramel and the banana bread was amazing. We decided to go when we heard there would be a pop up by Bakers Bench (Vegan croissants?! Yes please!) We got there a little after 5 and it was already pretty packed! Really liked the diner type set up. The tables are pretty close together but there is still room to navigate the place. Now, onto the food! Their burgers were always a good choice, but I decided to try something new and ordered the white sweet potato. It was pretty filling! My friend who I was with had never been there before so she ordered the superiority burger vegan. We were also able to order the pop up items while at our table and they were added to our final bill. Note: I rated 4 stars because they took my coffee from me as I entered the restaurant. I know this is really on me, but I hadn't had that happen in a while. Overall a solid spot to visit. I'm a vegetarian so I was excited to try the food here. The diner vibes are really cute and it makes it feel casual while also nice. The servers were really nice but it was a little overwhelming. They seemed confused cause we had three separate servers ask our drink orders. The food came out fairly quickly. We ordered the burnt broccoli, a special fried rice dish with spinach, and the regular burger. I wasn't expecting the broccoli to be cold but it was still a flavorful dish. I really enjoyed the fried rice with spinach. The rice was crispy, the sauce was a little sweet, and got my greens with some charred spinach. Very good. Finally the burger. Superiority Burger Spicy Lentils + Cornbread w/ Cabbage (Chunked, grilled, ramped) - I enjoyed the texture of grilled cabbage in the soup-it added more character to it. The soup itself was really thick and surprisingly did have a kick of spiciness with perhaps peppercorn . Collard Greens Sandwich Slow-Braised Collards, Cooper Sharp, our Focaccia - The collards were well-seasoned, its greens not too soggy but stem cooked to al dente. Sloppy Dave "On A Roll' with Frizzled Onion - Sloppy Dave was my personal favorite. It reaffirms my belief that anything fried cannot taste bad. Only problem is that it is indeed sloppy, thus instead of holding it like a burger, I've had to use a folk and knife. The tomato sauce was a bit strongly seasoned to my taste but that is consistent with its fast-food theme. Specials: PB Pie - The middle layer, I don't know what it was, was airy and made the sweet not too sweet, balancing out the peanut butter. PB pie was both savory and sweet, a good ending to the night. Food: Everything tasted good, and there was no single dish I was dissatisfied with. Not orworth, but great quality indeed. The wait time, however, was long--both waiting in line to get seated (it took us about an hour) and waiting for food. Price: Not super overpriced, considering the neighborhood, but the portion size for some dishes was kind of small. Ambience: With white tiled-wall, some poems on the wall, and neon lights, it definitely has modern interior. Plus, its dim lights make it feel a little bit like a bar. I would totally go back! This place is not worth the hype. The burger itself is pretty tasty--not amazing but very good--but it's tiny, come with no sides, and costs $14. I probably could have eaten three of them. They don't have fries on the menu and the sides are just tiny little tapas. For drinks, there are no special or creative cocktails, just basic ones you might have found in 1960 in a diner. This place came in clutch. It was a Saturday night. My girls and I were in search of some good vegetarian food. We head in here, and to our delight, it's vegan and vegetarian options only. They don't have many menu items. However, what we did try was good. I had the namesake burger, and it was just alright. Nothing really special.None of the burgers are served with fries, but it's quite filling. My friend had the sloppy dave burger, which was full of seasoning it was sooo good. For dessert, we had the funnel cake it was a 10 out of 10 . This other desert with vegan ice cream I forget the name of right now. I had seen this place mentioned in NY recommendations lists so the wife and I decided to squeeze a visit here during a short trip to New York and it was a great experience. We were a little taken aback by how experimental the menu was as we expected it to be a more classic burger joint, but we were very pleasantly surprised! We ordered the sweet potato side and their superiority burgers. Wish they had fries, but what can you do. We also ordered the vegan combo ice cream for dessert - their flavors were boysenberry and blue corn atole when we were there - and it was quite interesting. The music was too loud. That's really the only bad thing I can say about our experience at Superiority Burger. Everything else was simply excellent. I can't even justify knocking off a star for the noise because the food was delicious. I had the superiority burger -- amazing. Husband got the "sloppy Dave." We shared the beets, which were nothing like I expected -- just an incredible combination of flavor and texture (fried pretzels?!). For dessert, he had the banana bread, which he proclaimed the best dessert he'd ever had. (And the man eats a lot of desserts.) The rest was kind out forgettable. We also tried the house soda. Very small for $10, just ok. I personally didn't find the taste /quantity worth the price. Dessert outshines the mains here tbh. The gelato flavors change frequently. We had chocolate/mint - deep mint flavor. Like, mint from leaf not a lab. It was delicious! Also had a "scoop" of a lemony flavored gelato which was also delish!
