My wife and I had a great experience here! We met the owner, who was super friendly and told us they took over the restaurant about a year ago. He really made us feel welcome. We ordered the deluxe BBQ combo, which came with Prime Beef Ribeye, Prime Brisket, and Thin-Sliced Flower Pork Belly, plus a soybean soup. Everything was delicious! The ribeye was really tender, the pork belly was sliced just the way I like it--nice and thin--and the brisket was high quality. They also had a great variety of banchan (side dishes). I'm usually picky about kimchi, but theirs had the perfect balance of ginger, spice, saltiness, and sweetness. We also tried the Galbi Tang, which was clean, rich, and really comforting. Prices are a bit higher than some other Korean BBQ spots around Orlando, but the quality of the meat and care in preparation definitely makes it worth it.
A huge pass. This place use to be BeeKwon and was great. I was super disappointed in the wait time and hot pot. Our waiter was super nice but it took forever for out hot pot to come out. When it did, it was just onions, bulgogi,and mushrooms, with noodles barely enough for one person. I'm not sure if they were having help/kitchen issues but I definitely would not be back. They had a few huge parties and seem to be very attentive to those patrons. $50 for hot pot and that's what was served is really sad. It's more expensive here than other places but very underwhelming.
We're in town for a convention and were craving Korean food after an exhausting day. We found Surah and decided to give it a try and I'm so glad we did! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. My favorite was the pork mandu--lightly crispy with a flavorful filling, definitely a must-try! For my entrée, I got the brisket tofu stew and requested it mild which was the perfect spice level for me. My bf had the galbi tang and the broth was light yet packed with flavor. The service was very friendly too. We're in town for a few more days and are already planning to come back before we leave!
I'm not sure if I'll come back because of the price and quality of the food. Quality--galbi was cold! I can clearly tell that the dish was frozen before as inside of galbi was cold and the veggies were breaking apart and its colors being dark instead of shiny bright. Perhaps if you're going to freeze, separate by meat and sauce and don't freeze the veggies. When you get the order, put the sauce in the steamer with the meat and fresh veggies and stem for couple minutes extra. Price--I don't think the food's been priced right. It's WAY overpriced for what we're getting. Also if we're paying almost 40 bucks for a galbi, it would have been nice to get banchan refilled... also, BE AWARE you have to pay for your banchan to get refilled by the way!
5 stars! Everything we ordered was so delicious. The braised beef bone was AMAZING -- the meat was so flavorful and tender, and the potatoes inside were unbelievably good too, soft, sweet, and so comforting. The cold noodles were also excellent. The seafood tofu soup was also super fresh and flavorful. My mom literally said, "Please open a location in Chicago -- Chicago needs this place!" The service was what made the experience even more special. My mom wanted the cold noodles with soup, but I saw reviews saying the spicy cold noodles were the popular item, even though they normally don't come with soup. We almost gave up on trying it, but the waitress noticed and kindly asked the kitchen to give us a side of the spicy sauce so we could enjoy both styles. That was such a thoughtful touch and made us so happy. We took a 20-30 minute Uber ride just to come here, and honestly it was 100% worth it. Highly recommend!
I came to Surah and left really impressed! The standout for me was the spicy tofu stew--I honestly didn't think it would be spicy enough, but they really delivered. It had just the right kick without overwhelming the flavor. The kalbi was also memorable--thicker cut than I usually see, but still tender with a nice bit of marbling that gave it great flavor. The side dishes were plentiful and fresh, and the restaurant itself was clean and comfortable. The sweetest touch was the owner herself--she came by to chat, and even shared stories about when ATEEZ visited (twice!). It made the whole experience feel personal and warm. Everything I ordered was delicious! Best Korean food I've had in recent memory - I'd definitely come back here again. If you're looking for tasty Korean food with heart, Surah is a great choice.
This is a very good Korean Resturant. Love the options here and there's options for just about anyone hungry. My favorite and most unique is the port cutlet. It is so crisp; tender; and moist; it was perfectly prepared. It reminded me of my favorite cutlet place in Japan that was a hole in the wall joint. Portions are just right. Only thing I would comment on is the price as it's a bit on the higher side. Other than that; place is clean and service is good.
Amazing food & service at Surah. Took the college & HS kids out for lunch and I was craving this. Saw many good reviews and they did not disappoint. We were so hungry that we started tearing into the food and pictures were an afterthought. Pork fried dumplings, no picture because they were delicious and we devoured them, were up first. Fantastic, sweet and spicy KFC not spicy but very tasty. Now the mains, I've heard of army stew but never had it. This was delicious, but I don't know that I'm coming back just for it. Beef Bugolgi hot pot was PHENOMENAL, really recommend this. Asked the kids for the star rating? 5 out of 5, I think that tells it all right there. Love the ambiance of the place and looking forward to my next trip back!
The service was amazing with us being greeted by friendly staff after arriving 1 hour before closing. Throughout our entire meal, the staff were attentive with refills on side dishes, and tips on when to add the cheese to the stew. The ambiance is modern, elegant and spacious. Let's start with the side dishes, amazing! The salad comes with a tasty little shrimp, the kimchi radish were perfectly tender with a strong kimchi flavor, and the fish cakes had just the right texture and fish taste. The Korean Army Stew was nothing short of impeccable! We've gone to plenty of Korean restaurants and this is the single best Korean dish we've ever had of any restaurant. All of the meats tasted exactly how they should with distinct and delectable flavors and a perfect cook. The staff helped us cook the noodles to just the right texture. But the best part of this dish was the sauce which was full of creamy, and seasoned flavor throughout the entire pan. Amazing! We are sad we don't have such a good restaurant back in California.

Read your receipts they force tip for to go orders with fairly slow and poor service....I would have been more ok with the forced service charge if the service was decent but undeserving. The food and service was amazing! I got the hot stone bowl bibimbap and it was delicious. The banchan was fantastic as was the vegetable Mandu. Our server was great at explaining the dishes and the owner swung by after dinner to make sure everything was satisfactory and to ask if there was anything they could improve on. The answer was no as the whole experience was great! When I return to Orlando I will be swinging by again to continue exploring their menu! read more

I've been to a few Korean restaurants and this one is to the next level! My husband I ordered Japchae and the Dosirak Bulgogi set and the reviews were not wrong! It is very good! We have lived in NYC, LA, and now South FL for 17 years. So happy to have stumbled onto Surah while passing through Orlando! Hands down the BEST Korean food we have eaten in Florida! We have searched for good Korean food in FL and finally found it. We had the LA Galbi and Pork Bulgogi Dosirak sets. Ton of food! Great flavors. So satisfied! We had a great time at Surah. We ordered the Tuk Bok Ee and it was served in a hot stone pot which made it more delicious! We recommend ordering the kimbop with it to dip it in! My husband and I were disappointed to see that Beewon had closed so decided to try the restaurant that took its place. We were cautiously optimistic based on reviews. We were not disappointed! The restaurant is gorgeous! The entry as a beautiful water feature that uses kimchi bowls. We were greeted and sat immediately. They have removed the BBQ grills but we never tried the Beewon BBQ so it was not a big deal to us. But fyi in case you're looking for that. We started with some Kimbap and tuk bak gi. Our server cautioned us it was VERY spicy, which was thoughtful of her! The tuk bak gi came out boiling hot in a stone bowl. I have had rice cakes (and love them), but I'd never had this specific dish before and I was in love with the first bite (yes, it is extremely spicy but in a sweet way?) The kimbap was also amazing (it is my go to Korean appetizer and this was probably one of the best I've ever had). We also ordered some strawberry soju to enjoy with our meal. I wish they had more flavors of soju but strawberry is one of our favorites, so not a big deal. For our main dishes I ordered my usual do sot bibim bab. My husband ordered his usual bibim bab. Again both were amazing! My stone bowl was nice and hot which created the crispy rice which I love lol. Our server noticed I only put a bit of the hot sauce on my bowl so she graciously brought out a soy based sauce the chef came up with. I actually used the whole bowl the sauce was so good. Multiple dishes of kimchi and other sides (my favorite was the sweet sticky peanuts!) are included as well as a cup of miso soup. Our server was very attentive the whole time and apologized for not having the Korean beer I wanted on hand. We will definitely be back but won't order quite so much food next time! I've already recommended SURAH to a handful of foodie friends. My birthday is coming up soon and this will probably be my requested spot to go to! read more

Incredible korean food and atmosphere. I had the dolsot bimbim bop with tofu. The restaurant was very accommodating for vegetarian side dishes. Everything was fresh and delicious. The bipbim bop has a plethora of fresh vegetables and mushrooms. Much more vegetables than other bimbam bops I've had in Orlando. The side dishes were not too salty and tastes very fresh with a nice assortment of seven dishes. They opened their outdoor patio and it was a lovely place to sit outside and have a meal. Overall, I'm very pleased to have this restaurant in Dr. Phillips. I can't wait to return! read more

10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We had a fantastic experience here for my Fiancé's birthday! They really went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. We initially chose this place after looking through Yelp for a place to get some chicken or pork katsu, and this looked the closest to what we had in Japan. We were pleasantly surprised that it was a Korean place! Very clean interior, looks like it was just redone maybe. We ordered the TTeokboki, Korean Fried Chicken with the Sweet and Spicy sauce, Mandu pork dumplings for appetizers and shared one order of the Pork Cutlet (tonkatsu). (All pictured, but some after eating) We were given 6 side dishes (banchan): squid, white kimchi, cucumber, boiled peanuts, fish cakes, and a ginger salad. My favorite was the Korean Fried Chicken, I've never had chicken so tender that it almost melted in my mouth, it tasted so so fresh, and the coating was so delightfully crispy and had the perfect amount of sauce that it wouldn't get soggy. This chicken just had the perfect "mouth-feel", I enjoyed actually just eating this one (the crisp was so satisfying!) haha! The fiancé's favorite was the pork cutlet/katsu. It was thick, juicy, and perfectly crispy. It was JUST like what we had in Japan, they used the REAL DEAL panko that's flaky and sooo good! The dumplings were crispy and fresh and felt homemade, yum! The tteokbokki was delicious and chewy, we want to try it a little spicier next time! Everything came in very big portions, so we definitely got our money's worth. They surprised us with ice cream and a hotteok-a sweet pancake with brown sugar syrup filling-for my fiance's birthday and it was sooo delicious! Tasted like a fair donut with a caramel-y center. We loved getting to try something new and add it to our list of favorites! We loved everything about our experience and can't wait to come back here and bring some friends along. Maybe try out the bbq too some time. The service was impeccable, Andy was our server and was so kind and had the best suggestions! Everyone worked with a smile, and it felt like they all enjoyed working there. We were told it's a family run business. A hidden gem of Windermere/Dr Philips area, Its AMAZING! Surah is a family owned restaurant and every time we come they are always super nice and friendly, the food is so good and I can't find a better Chajang Rice anywhere, everything tastes homemade, the dumplings and fried chicken are perfect. Everything is always clean and so pretty with the lights. Cant recommend it enough. The best part is that they have a happy hour from 2-6pm making the price a steal. read more

Beautiful restaurant! We came in at around 7:30 PM on a Thursday. We were seated very quickly. Our waiter was checking in constantly enough to really make us feel they were looking out for us but not enough to be annoying. I got the bulgogi dosirak and every part of it was great! The bulgogi was a bit more dry than I prefer though. The star of the meal were the banchan. Fantastic variety and very authentic flavors!
