This office is the worst ran office I've ever encountered. The office staff means everything in this business and when you have a staff that doesn't care about you, your name, or your condition only whether or not you have insurance l, I say go to hell! After over a week of waiting for the office to call me back, I finally called again to confirm my insurance, the same that I've had for 18 years with no changes since my last visit there, I was extremely frustrated to say the least. When I finally did get an appointment 10 days later, I walked in the office to which I was the only person in the waiting room and waited another hour and ten minutes to see, "not the Doctor but a PA". I was so angry that I immediately walked out and demanded my $10 co-pay and went to urgent care where I only waited 20 minutes to be seen and diagnosed with a stricture in my throat, which was the reason why I couldn't eat for the last 12 days. This place is an absolute joke. The 1st time my son came here was for a badly injured knee. The PA who examined him ordered a standard MRI that would have taken up to 3 weeks. We had to take matters into our own hands and call the insurance Carrier to get his MRI expedited .. otherwise my son would have suffered for who knows how long. He was in terrible pain and unable to put any weight whatsoever on his leg. He ended up needing extensive knee surgery. The next time he went to the office was because his hands have been going numb in the middle of the night and for a skin condition he has been battling. The PA he saw this time ordered him anxiety meds WTH..my son is a recovering addict with 3 years sober. This information is in his file.. THE LAST THING HE NEEDS IS anxiety medication! And how in the world does anxiety medication help with numbness in the hands and a skin condition? These people really need to get it together! Good luck! read more

terrible experience...In the past, I've had to wait hours to be seen to the point I stopped going in person and switched to phone consultations. One year passed, and it was time for me to be seen in office for a check up. So when making the appointment, receptionist says "Thursday at 2:30pm". So i showed up Thursday at 2:20pm and the door is locked which they always do when they are away for lunch. However the sign on the door says they return from lunch at 2pm. I called multiple times between 2:20-2:45pm and no answer. Eventually I left. I called again at 3:15pm and finally got an answer. The receptionist says, "oh what location are you at?" I said "Alta and Foothill" she says "we haven't been at that location in a year" i said "well I haven't been seen in over a year. When the girl made my appointment she saw in my file i hadn't been seen in over a year so why didn't she tell me then that the location had changed?" (That's common sense). She said "idk" i said "ok well you return from lunch at 2pm and I've been calling since 2:20pm why didn't anyone ever answer?" She said "idk we get alot of calls." Not a good enough answer. They fit me in at 3:45pm. Upon arriving, i was clearly frustrated for good reason. Instead of diffusing my frustration, the front desk girl Aracelli was rude, slammed the glass door multiple times, rushed out of the front door slamming it, speaking loudly etc. I have never once even seen or met dr biegel. I honestly think she is completely checked out of her practice/staff etc. there are a few positive employees but they can't outweigh the bad experiences I've had repeatedly. Dr Iskander is great and his assistant. I hope someone fixes the attitude and communication of the front desk/appointment setter staff. Everyone else was helpful. read more

I have to be honest, I was very nervous to see an internal medicine doctor, for the first time in over a year. Dr. Susan Biegel's office was very traditional. The staff was friendly nice and professional. All of my anxiety and nervousness disappeared after I had my follow up appointment. The PA's I've visited with, which at first very skeptical, were absolutely amazing. I would recommend this facility to anyone seeking a primary care physician. Although I have still never met Dr. Biegel, I feel her staff is knowledgeable enough to provide my medical needs. DO NOT GO TO HER! DO NOT! This office is simply horrible. I was a patient there but after constantly being past around from one nurse to another and never getting to see an actual Dr was frustrating. Dr Beigal has SOOO MANY patients and can't handle the workload. She gives 0 personal attention to You. When you call to make an appt you will be placed on hold being told there are several callers ahead of you. If you go to an appointment you will be there at least 2-3 hours. Once you get back in a room You will have several different medical assistants taking your information whille constantly telling you "please excuse me I'll be right back"... every time you go in you have to explain your whole life all over again because there are so manY people working there no one would ever remember who you are. In addition, their staff talk negatively (breaking HIPAA laws) about their patients where other patients can hear. If You ever wish to get a call back from the dr you will not!! You will be forced to make an appointment because of course she wants that money for the appointment. This office is horrible! The staff is constantly changing too. Dr Beigal pretends to be in the best interest of her patients but is a careless, money hungry, and inconsistent Dr if I've ever seen one! If you end up going there, you'll see what I mean. read more

I had a well woman visit in early 2019. Susan's office didn't bill my insurance correctly. The account was sent to a 3rd party collector for which I disputed. I also followed up with Susan's office to inform them of the error of which they confirmed and said that they would rebill. Thereafter, the matter was resolved and the file closed...so I thought. Fast forward to 1/17/2022..I receive a call from a totally different 3rd party collector attempting to collect on the same resolved/disputed amount. Susan as a Dr. is wonderful. However, dealing with this situation and her office staff has been less than pleasurable. If needed, I'll pay the amount and file a small claims to recover my monies. Never in my life have I have hundreds of dollars for well woman labs. I had been with BCBS for over 11 years in 2019 and this is a first. This is what happens when someone is lackluster in making sure that the ICD-9 coding is correct. Delays Susan's office in getting paid and ensuring that I won't be back! read more

I've been a patient at this office for many years, but today will be the end of that. After a dispute with this office regarding my insurance and having a physical and medication refill in the next visit, I was told I could not have a physical and medication refill in the same visit and that I would need to reschedule for my medication refill and come back another day. I expressed to the PA my frustration as I had taken a day off work to make this appointment. The PA stepped out to talk to Dr. Biegel about it and I could hear Dr. Biegel talking to her staff in the hallway about me in a very poor manner. She then came into the exam room with and attitude and berated me stating "you're asking us to work for free and that's not gonna happen." I then called my insurance as soon as I left and was informed that the information I was given was completely false! This doctor also has a habit of telling you that you need erroneous tests just so she can bill your insurance for it. Do yourself a favor and don't bother with this office. She has long wait times, unprofessional staff and, she herself has a TERRIBLE attitude. Over the years, I may have had an actual consult maybe 6 or 7 times, because she mostly sends in PAs or NPs toGood riddance. Also, if you would like to see an example of her terrible behavior and attitude, just take a gander at some her replies to the negative yelp reviews. Update after a reply from the MD, herself: notice how she took no personal responsibility for how she conducted herself with me during our conversation in the office? That was the real issue to me in the first place. Yes, insurance is frustrating, as I work in utilization management as a nurse and deal with it daily. Horrible, horrible, horrible! Waited TWO HOURS! Made an appointment on the 7th for the 19th at 2pm as a new patient an had my new insurance card with her name on it as my new PCP. I show up with my card and there is "no appointment" set for me. The receptionist then tells me it was one of the girls who just got recently fired who made the appointment- but how is that my problem when I took off work for the appointment and showed up 20 mins early, as told, to fill out new patient packet??? After pleading my case relentlessly that I should be seen they "try" to fit me in after sitting and waiting for TWO hours. TWO HOURS! After begging to be seen because I had to pick up my kids I was treated as if I was the one being an inconvenience and was told, "well, you weren't scheduled... so we had to fit you in." Correction, I WAS scheduled! it was not my issue as to why they messed up on their end. I Will absolutely never go back and do not recommend this place at all. And no.... I was NEVER seen and walked out. read more

If I could give this Drs office a negative or 0 star rating I would. My review is delayed however I have not forgotten my experience. This place is TERRRRRIBLE. Do not go here. My first appointment was a new patient appt along with confirmation of my pregnancy. As I understand a long wait time at Drs offices my initial wait was close to 2 hours. When I was finally taken back you could tell they were busy and understaffed; even the nurse seemed flustered. They took my weight and height and then put me in a room (1 of 3 in a crammed section with my name on a white board outside). I waited again, not as long but for a little while until an intern arrived who was nice and she took my readings: heart rate, breathing, etc in a very small compact room which while we were in there another staff member interrupted (in the middle of the tests) and said they needed that room?!?! Ok, so we are done with tests and they move me to the adjacent room to wait again. This time I think I was forgotten as another 30-45mins went by. I got up to use the restroom (which maybe prompted them to realize I was in the room?!?!) On my way back from the bathroom they then put me into now a 3rd room. Total rooms i was in: 3. This time when the assistant came in she was very rushed and took my info. When the nurse arrived she also seemed flustered. The nurse stated "ok so you are here for a well women's exam"?!??! No, I am here for a new patient and to confirm my pregnancy?!?! Ok so off to an EXTREMELY awful start. At this time she is going through my bloodwork she finds out that they didn't test for the hormone for pregnancy and cannot confirm?!?!?! The front desk agent didn't fill in the proper items for me to be tested for the hormone hCG. So now I have to go BACK to the lab at 5am because it is the only time before work I could squeeze it into my work schedule. I get there and THEY FILLED OUT THE PAPERWORK INCORRECTLY AGAIN!!!!!!!!! They didn't fill in MY (the patients) information correctly, missing items, etc. I about LOST it. This means I had to make ANOTHER appt to come back at 5am to the testing site. I was so ready to be done going here for my PCP and couldn't wait to start with the prenatal care Drs at Care For Women's Medical Group (which were AMAZING). To make matters even worse, I had to go back to Dr. Biegel's office (btw I have never met Dr. Biegel) to get a shot you need while pregnant (Tdap). I kid you not, the assistant came out to get me with short sleeves and his arms were fully tattooed, his hair was long and unkept - I could've sworn Drs offices, like any other place of business that deals with the public has grooming standards. He takes me to the room to give me my shot, the trash can is FULL - I am one of the first patients of the day - so why is the trash full, was it not taken out the night before??? He doesn't confirm my name or anything or the shot I am getting. And this is the most disturbing part, (I AM NOT EXAGGERATING) HE PULLS THE CAP OF THE SYRINGE OFF WITH HIS TEETH. I about RAN out the door. But I didn't because I had no idea when I could get another appt for this shot or if I had time to get back. But I vowed to NEVER EVER EVER return to this joke of a Doctors office. read more

New developments have occurred, and I am afraid they are not good. My wife called a few days ago to schedule an appointment, they just called us back today to confirm. I pay a $40.00 appointment fee, but my wife...she was told she has to pay $80.00!!!!??? My wife asked why she had to pay double the rate for the exact same thing, the response from the 20 something was...It's just different for your husband. My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Biegel's for almost the exact same amount of time, and we both take the same medication and dosage. How would ANYONE react to the reply from your health care practitioners office if they were to tell you: "Your rate is double, um...because it just is". ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? SERIOUSLY!? I don't know how long Dr. Biegel thinks she can get away with treating people like this, but I will tell you this: If this issue isn't resolved tomorrow on January 13th, 2017, my wife and I will go the extra mile to find another Dr. that has actual integrity and really does care about the people that she has been entrusted to take care of. I have been with this office for many years but enough is enough. I have not had one year without some sort of issue. The final straw was having a 9 o'clock appointment and still sat there waiting at 10.45 with them still saying "she will be here shortly". I have a job, a life and my time is important. My other issues: 1. sent blood to wrong vendor, out of my network, was told not to pay the bill each month when I called since they would resolve it, eventually went to collections, called office again and had to explain just like the other six calls. I called the vendor and got resolved in 5 minutes. Incompetent. 2. took my blood and apparently forgot about it. I kept calling and asking are results ready so could make appointment. Eventually they lied and set up appointment and then told me at appointment I had to have blood taken again....appointment was pointless and could not have blood taken since needed to fast. I was not upset over them forgetting my blood, mistakes happens, but why make me make an appointment to tell me? Disrespectful to my time and incompetent. 3. took an ekg, abnormal, had ultrasound and had to wait for weeks for results with one excuse after another. While waiting for results told me not to exercise, take it easy and call 911 if any issues. Called weekly and then I eventually started calling daily, I just got excuse after excuse, the doctor has not had time to review, the doctor has left for the day, the doctor is out of office, the doctor is on vacation, she left your paperwork at home, she has not had time to review. I requested the documents just get sent to me since I did pay for them, they refused. I know several doctors who could have reviewed for me. Then got results and said abnormal, I asked if they had compared to last one and said "you had one before? ". I had told several people, several times over. Incompetent and a total lack of understanding for patients feelings and concerns. 4. Left waiting for hours when fasting for blood test, did all the other tests before taking blood so sat with headache for even longer. On that day I had not eaten or drank anything...they told me no water. After they told me should have been drinking water. 5. I had oral surgery the day before my annual and they tried to ask me to take a breathing test at least three times. I kept saying no I only had surgery yesterday and cannot even drink or speak properly yet. They kept saying how important the test was. Been back for two annuals since then and no mention of this test again. Presumably a money maker for a while and just a passing phase. 6. They send you a thanksgiving and birthday card but no annual appointment reminder. You want revenue, switch this practice. 7. Bills never seem to correlate to what insurance says I should be paying 8. Got a bill and questioned it, left messages, no one gets back to you and bills keep coming. Eventually they did send me an amended bill. 9. Yes they do a lot of services in house but you have to wait, for many of us easier to go close to work, or get quicker appointment but they do not like you going elsewhere. I will say most of the nursing staff are pleasant and apologetic and I do feel sorry for them in such a toxic environment. I have heard Dr. B speak to the staff and trainees in a very unprofessional manner. Don't go if you value your time. If you are like me you are too busy to find a new doctor and just suffer it once a year, but even I will find the time to make a change. I think she is a good doctor but never get to see her. Practice should: increase length of scheduled appointment time, reduce number of patients, get some competent backend staff, stop chasing revenue and start caring and treating patients like people. Originally I thought this Doctor was going to be great. They squeezed me in on 2-5-19 to give me clearance so I can do a surgery on 2-8-19. Achilles ruptured repair. (Mind you I am in pain and cannot take pain meds because of the surgery in 3 days. First off the building that the office is in is beat up and run down. The wait was about 30 mins which was understandable since it was a squeezed in appointment. The doctor seemed friendly but that is just a front the first time she sees you. The nurses really seemed like they had no idea what they were doing. They took blood and the nurse really had no idea what to do. She had to get advice from someone else. I had to return 2 days later 2-7-19 for blood work results. Which I don't know why I had to come in. They just had to review it and give me clearance I did not have to come in. I called around 12 to see if they can clear me with out coming in because I was in pain. Kim said she would check and call me back. My appointment was at 2:45 and it is not 2:30 with no call back. I call in and they said I had to come in and couldn't give me a good reason why. I ask to talk to the doctor and they say she is on lunch and comes back at 3:00. My appointment was at 2:45 how is she on lunch? So I head over I live 5 mins away so I get there exactly at 2:45 and they try to tell me I have to pay $150 for the clearance. That is the only reason they wanted me to come in. Why can't they just clear me. I already paid $150 when I came in to take the blood, EKG, and all the other work. This doctors office is full of crooks. I am sitting in the office as I'm typing this waiting for the results. I am sitting in the doctors office being held hostage in pain and the nurse MICHELLE is telling me they are not going to give me clearance to do a surgery until I pay. DO NOT COME TO THIS DOCTOR! They are crooks! So a quick update. I faxed all documents to another doctor and after reviewing paper work they cleared me for surgery with out charging me. read more

I will never go here again! Every single time I visit the office the "Dr. Biegel" is not in. I have to settle for nurse practitioners who, besides being very nice and welcoming, are clueless. Yesterday, I received a bill from their office $229 dollars per visit (2 visits) FOR WHAT?? I call their billing department, who was absolutely no help. They referred me to my insurance. My question is: why are you billing me $229 dollars for a visit when I was never told that there were additional charges besides my co-pay. According to them, it is being denied by my insurance. If I would have known, I would have never gone here and I would have gone to the 24 hour urgent care where the co-pay is $20 and that's it! I don't find this very honest of them, they apparently "don't know how much the billing is" until after they put in their codes. I am extremely upset at this establishment and am glad there are sites like yelp to warn people. Do not go here!! To top it off, apparently I have suffered a stroke??? They mixed up my medical chart numerous times. I am flabbergasted at the fact that it is an operating establishment. I have had results for important tests lost, they have on multiple occasions sent a prescription to the pharmacy that is on my allergy list and call me to let me know of issues in blood results that were taken over a month ago. With Docs you get speed or you get personal care. Dr Biegel does run behind frequently... But that is because she is invested in her patients. The PA is very qualified and professional. He truly knows his stuff. Dr Biegle is more "holistic". So it may be a wait. But if you want a truly personal touch, Dr Biegle. In this day and age. You will be referred to Specialist. Once you make it through the initial phases. Then all is good... Dr Biegle is for your Soul and your Body... Just remember she seldom says no to new patients.. so waiting may occur. This is actually my first review that I have ever written. I felt like I needed to voice my concerns about this establishment. Let's just say that I was not a happy patient when I left my visit. I personally think that the front office girl should get 5 stars. She was happy and polite. I started to get upset after sitting in the waiting room for almost an hour. When I voiced this to her she got right up and went to check on how much longer it would be until I was going to be seen. I sat in the waiting room for over 90 minutes, and the exam room for almost 40 minutes before ever seeing the assistant doc (Dr. Gus). He was nice and courteous when he finally came in. I admit at this point I was getting pretty annoyed, but I expected that there would have been some kind of inspection or orthopedic test preformed to my area of chief complaint. The gentlemen never looked at my back, never preformed any type of test, and just prescribed me muscle relaxers for a problem that I have been having for over six years. How can you diagnose something that you never saw or tested for? When Dr. Biegel finally entered the room, she talked to the medical assistant in the room with her back completely to me. She didn't address any questions to me, or show any concern what so ever. When I finally asked her a question she acted completely put out. At this point I had been at the office for over 3 hours with out anyone ever looking at the area of complaint, and they never did. I have no doubt that the doctors at this establishment have decent clinical skills, but it is pretty sad the lack of caring that I felt this office had for their patients. The medical system that is currently in place in this country allows doctors like this to keep large volume private practices, and they are doing absolutely nothing to improve the health of their patients. read more

susan bigel , runs a clinic with many ... i don't know what to call them.. nurses? students practicing with patients, but you never get to see her face, every time i went there, always was someone new. my first appointment was with a man, that asked me a bunch of questions.. then he gave me some lab orders, then i asked him for his business card, he answered. "i don't have a business card, i just come to help hear." so the next time i went for my appointment, i got two ladies talking about my lab tests, they told me that my vitamin d was very low then after they debating what to do, they gave a prescription for 10,000 mg vitamin d . next visit. i was specking to se doctor biegal, but i got 2 other ladies, after talking between them they send me home with a 50,000 mg vitamin d. every time had a appointment, there was no doctor, just students or nurses, i called the office and complained about it, my next appointment. there was two other nurses, and doctor susan b opened the door, and said helo to me moving her hand and left. that was it, i really think someone can die for the mismanagement they have, i cannot complain of the people working at the front desk making appointments, they try hard to do their job, i believe doctor susan doesn't care for the patients, or maybe she doesn't care for seniors who have medicare advantage. something is very wrong with this clinic the way is running is not right.. in one year i was seeing by so many ladies, that they could be, students or nurses i also was seeing by a older men, he told me he was a retired doctor, and was helping at the clinic, also no business card to verify his credentials.. i wasted a whole year with this clinic, and i did not had any correct treatment for my issues with my blood test that were abnormal, i ended having problems with my immune system, but i had no solutions. i.was totally lost without any doctor help. last week i got a phone call from this doctor office, just to let me know that i needed to make a appointment??? i told the person at the phone.. i no longer have dr. biegel as my doctor since a year ago. the sad story about this doctor, she. have no empathy for the patients. the reason i signed with her, because a lady from church told me doctor biegel was a great doctor and a christian doctor?? read more

I've been going to Dr Biegel for my FAA Medical for many years without any problems. But recently, I required a 1st class medical and I was understanding I needed an EKG. But the person attending to me specifically informs an EKG is not required. I even had him double check and he looked at my chart and tells me again 'nope you don't need an EKG.' So I think nothing of it. But then two days later when I am just about to get on a plane to deploy overseas I get a call requesting me to come in for an EKG. The medical is invalid without it. WHAT?! So I deploy my trip and spend more money for an EKG that should have been done when I asked twice to make sure. Then two days later they catch it. OK, that aside, once my EKG was done, I had it faxed to them. I email requesting a confirmation. After two emails I call and ask what's going on. They are pretty nonchalant about it informing me that my EKG was received and my 1st class cert is valid now. Does it not occur to them that those of us who go in to get this done, that certificate is a requirement of our jobs and their lack of patient/customer support is unacceptable. Update: Dr Biegel called me to personally apologize. Recognizing where the issue was and promised to make corrections needed and to conduct training to not have this happen to anyone again. I also would not refer or recommend this doctor to anyone. She never follows up on lab results. You almost never see her, just her assistants. She always seems to busy to spend any time talking with you. She loves to send you out to other specialists, but never follows up. She has sent me to the wrong specialist with the wrong diagnoses, which in turn delayed the treatment I urgently needed. After a year, I would doubt she would recognize me on the street.
