[[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall this place feels very nostalgic of sushi restaurants growing up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Located in a plaza where there's a supermarket, nail salon, the parking lot get filled quickly. The menu had straight to the point sushi- no trendy new rolls which is good from time to time. Our server was so sweet. I got the crunchy roll and spicy tuna roll and you can tell that the rolls are made with such care. I would dine here again.

This unassuming place just blew my mind! After I finished up some lash service Nextdoor I decided to go to this place since I'm hungry and didn't wanna drive far. My only regret is I didn't know about this place before today! Food wow, fresh, taste on point and the serving is huge. For the amount of food you get, this place should be charging more. Seems to be run by a Japanese couple, making the experience more authentic. This decor reminds me of those small restos in Tokyo. I can't emphasize enough how good this place is so definitely coming back. I can't even wait to go home to do the review. Hopefully more people discover this Japanese restaurant.

Everyone enjoyed their meal at this Japanese restaurant last time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]From the outside it looks like a hole in the wall establishment, but they serve some.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Fresh and great Japanese cuisine in my opinion. Everything that we ordered tasted so authentic ( considering that I have been to Japan before) and the service wasn't bad at all.

Sushi Anza is a small restaurant with a calm environment! It wasn't busy at all on a Saturday night. We ordered the fried calamari appetizer, the salmon bowl, and the chirashi deluxe. The calamari was tasty, but had super thick pieces in comparison to other places I've ordered. The breading was also falling off on a lot of the pieces. The salmon was good, but wasn't as fresh as it could've been. Sushi Anza was good, but there are better sushi places in the Torrance area in my opinion.

Great place to have a small dinner bites if you are tired or not felling cooking. Always fresh and fast service.

Sushi Anza is a small mom & pop hole-in-the wall Japanese restaurant in Torrance. It's been around for awhile so it's a go-to place for a chill casual night out. The restaurant is really small and doesn't have a lot of tables inside so I like coming here for takeout. They get a bunch of takeout orders so order way ahead of time because it takes awhile. This place is great for sushi. My favorite roll to get is the eel avocado roll. The staff is very nice and friendly. Parking is free and in front of the restaurant. Can't wait to come back here again!

If you want to try Osechi (Japanese New Year's feast), this is the best place to get it from!!! You need to order it ahead of time and pick up on Dec 31. It was $218 including tax this time. It was sooooo well worth it. Everything was fresh. So many different items!! We decided to have it right away as NY Eve dinner (which is already NY in Japan!) We wormed up the snapper in the oven, but everything else was great as is. We enjoyed it with another couple, and it was more than enough for 4 of us. Chef Kazu and his wife Kazumi are a great couple. We go have sushi and sake there once in awhile. And their sake tasting events are insanely fun. It's a tiny place, so make sure to reserve your seat for it. :):)

Quiet hidden gem in Torrance. There hasn't been a review in a while, but I echo all the positive sentiments that came before me. Great food, beautiful decor, kind service, and amazing price. Some memorable moments: - the shrimp tempura was a light batter and soft which allows the flavor of the shrimp to shine - both the taco and burrito were good. But I recommend getting one of them and not both, or else too much rice - I had the sashimi chefs choice platter which had great selection. The uni was particular memorable in taste. - the toro handle was was half at $6.5. Simply unbeatable price. Highly recommend folks to come check out this restaurant

Such a hidden gem! Sushi Anza is one of the few authentic Japanese sushi joints in the area. It's a family-owned small business that serves some of the freshest fish i've ever had and the owners always provide great service. They also have sake tasting events where you get to try some of the best sake imported from Japan--make sure you make a reservation for that early because spots fill up fast!! Overall an amazing culinary experience and can't wait to come back

I ordered their lunch combo, which comes with 6 pieces of sushi, a choice of a California or spicy tuna roll, and a side. I went with the spicy tuna roll and chose the veggie tempura for my side. The sushi pieces were really good, and the wagyu beef one was definitely the highlight for me. The veggie tempura was also good and came with a small side salad. The restaurant itself has a nice, relaxed vibe, and the service was good, though there were a couple of minor hiccups with the meal itself. The spicy tuna roll was just okay and didn't taste super fresh today. Also, the tempura and salad came out much later than the sushi, which felt like an odd pacing for a lunch combo. Overall, it was a good meal and I'd probably give it another try if I happen to be in the neighborhood, but honestly, I still like Hoka Hoka better.

The private booths alone made me feel like I was signing a secret business deal, except the only thing I was negotiating was how much more food I could fit into my stomach. Every dish came out looking like it had been through a glow‑up montage. So delicious! * Unagi -- Melted in my mouth like it had a personal vendetta against being solid. Sweet, buttery, and dangerously addictive. * Katsu -- Crispy enough to be heard across the booth. If this dish had a crunchy Japanese category, this would be the headliner. * Spicy tuna -- The perfect balance of heat and flavor. Not "call the fire department" spicy, but definitely "I see you trying to impress me" spicy. * Seared tuna, Elegant, silky, and so fresh it probably had plans later. * Uni pasta, Listen... this dish is a commitment. Creamy, ocean‑kissed, and luxurious. It's the kind of pasta that makes you sit back and reevaluate your life choices, in a good way. * Sake - WOW ...My delicious sake was smooth, floral, and paired with everything like it had studied my taste buds in advance. The staff here operate with polite ninja efficiency. They appear, refill, deliver, and disappear before you can even say "arigato." Not rushed, not pushy, just clean, respectful Japanese hospitality that makes you feel taken care of. "Always remember the energy you give....is the energy you get in return!" The private booths are the star of the show. Cozy, warm lighting, and enough privacy to talk chisme without worrying about the table next to you judging your life choices. It's intimate without being cramped, like a little wooden cocoon of comfort. Kagura is one of those Torrance gems that hits every category: authentic food, quiet comfort, top‑tier service, and dishes that make you want to come back before you've even left the parking lot, oh and let me remind you how small that parking lot is, be prepared. If you're into Japanese cuisine that feels both homey and elevated, this is your spot. Living life one bite at a time...go and enjoy yourself! Miguel C.
