Great sushi chef here!! While I was in the restaurant, all the tables I saw leave thanked the sushi chef before exiting. (If you've never been inside this restaurant, the sushi bar isn't even on the way out the door.) Even though the chef was not the one bringing the food to the tables or interacting with them, everyone seemed to want to give an obvious thanks and farewell to him. Because my friend and I sat at the sushi bar, we got to interact with him some, and he was very kind. He brought out a free sushi bowl for us, which was very delicious!! Thank you, if you ever see this. Our waitress was also kind! She was not too much or too little. She was just perfect in her service. She seemed to be the only waitress at the time since the restaurant itself is not very big. But she seemed to handle the whole place herself very well! The sushi pieces are very big. So big that I actually couldn't finish all of my food. SO SAD :( You definitely get your money's worth here. First time here! I usually go to the same sushi restaurant so it was nice to switch it up for a change. I was not disappointed in the service nor the food. I had the Alaskan Roll, Louisiana Roll and Salmon Sushi. All were very good, especially the Louisiana Roll. The staff is friendly and attentive. I only put 4 stars instead of 5 because the sushi restaurant I usually go to had better flavor in my opinion even though THIS restaurant has rolls that' are $2 cheaper than my usual go to place. Service: Server sat us immediately in a nice booth (which was like a cubicle, pretty cool) she was nice and attentive. Food: We started with the jalapeño popper, name is a bit deceiving it's not a bite size thing. It's rather a whole thin cut friend jalapeño with crab meat with martini /eel/wasabi sauce. Fell apart easily. Sunshine roll - like any other roll really, nothing spectacular. Also tried the Spicy sashimi bowl which came with assorted sashimi on a bed of spring mix - side of rice & a bowl of miso soup. The whole bowl had nice presentation, but was very lacking in flavor. I had to ask for Ponzu twice. Fresh tasting sashimi though. Could care less for the nasty miso soup. Overall: Although the atmosphere was nice and the service is good, I Wouldn't come here again. I just moved here a week ago from Cali! Honestly just assumed sushi here (Texas in general) wasn't going to be very good. Don't know why I was so doubtful. And OMG SO YUMMY!!!!!! Best first experience ever!! This place is so authentic, good service, quick and presentable. We had their lunch combo special, and let me tell you... I was not expecting these amazingly cheap (compared to California) prices especially because of how delicious! For 2 ppl we had plenty to eat (and I overeat all the time). Paid overall $16-$18 can't remember exactly. I've had terrible experiences before with bad sushi, and the fish here tasted so fresh and exactly what TRUE sushi should taste like. LOVE the food here, will definitely be back! P.s. I love the ambiance this place has. But if I had anything I feel they can improve on, it would be the torn seat in the Booth. It's a personal pet peeve of mine and I hate sitting in them, plus I'm sure it makes it more difficult to clean. Inside is very nicely decorated. Once you enter, the sushi bar is right in front of you and the seating area is to the left. They had bar seating, table seating, and booths. My friend and I came here around noon on Wednesday and the place was empty. I decided to try the chicken soba noodles and the crunchy yellowtail roll. The noodles were delicious and the same could be said for the roll. There seemed to be only one person working the floor, the same guy that greeted and took our order. Came for the first time for lunch and it's like I found a hidden gem! It's funny how I've lived in Arlington for about 17 years but there's so many great restaurants I've yet to visit. They have AWESOME lunch specials. A good amount of sushi without breaking your wallet. I got the Sushi & Roll which comes with soup or salad, a choice of a classic roll, and 5 sushi pieces: tuna, salmon, red snapper, yellowtail, and shrimp. I opted for the salad which comes with a tasty ginger dressing and got the spicy salmon for my classic roll. The salmon roll had a bit too much avocado for my liking. I wasn't sure if this was going to fill me up but I got comfortably full off this! My total came out to be exactly $11.83. I think I'll be frequenting here to try out more of their lunch specials :) read more

For a lack of a better description, " it tastes really good 5/5 service - both times i have been they have been really friendly and have shown good timing and refill my drink when its low. i know that sounds high maintenance but its not, the servers here genuinely want you to enjoy your meal and they do. will definitely come back and if you cant think of anywhere to go this is your spot read more

Came here during their lunch specials today and was surprised to find that the only people in the restaurant were me and my friends and a couple of other people. There was only one waitress too, so service was a tad slow. To make this brief, cute place but average food! I got the teriyaki shrimp bento box which came with miso soup, salad, 2 gyozas, 4 California rolls, and rice. All decent. My friends shared a 3 roll combo. I tried one and I noticed the consistency was quite mushy and easily fell apart.. yeah, not the best quality. They were very generous with the avocado in their rolls though which is always a plus for me. I'm sure their signature rolls taste much better. Though this place was not bad, when comparing to other sushi places' lunch specials, I'd much rather go to Suzushii or Domo for theirs. My normal place to get sushi in Arlington is Sushi Domo but I had a recent unfortunate visit there so I needed a new place to get my fix. Sushi Cafe is kind of hidden if you don't know exactly where it is (kinda got lost trying to find the place lol) but it's right next door to spring creek BBQ. The young lady that was there was very helpful and answered all my questions regarding what I should order. I'd never been there before but during lunch (1pm) it didn't seem incredibly busy maybe 5 tables were full very nice and quiet. I ordered the 2 roll lunch special (spicy tuna & crab tempura) while I got the Shrimp killer for my mom. We ended up sharing everything cause it was so delicious!We got everything for about $20 such a steal! Make sure you ask for eel sauce if you're not too keen on soy it's on the sweet side and so very good! Needless to say this is going to be my new sushi spot I loved it! read more

I've eaten here many times and didn't want to make a review until I had a few bad experiences since this isn't a chain restaurant and I wanted to give them another chance. Never again. One lunch they didn't bring the food for 35 minutes... and I was on my lunch break. I get the $7.99 2 roll special with the salad. My salad never came and it wasn't til they brought out my sushi that they brought a soup and said they were out of salad. That's not THAT big of a deal though. However, their rice is NOT good. It's almost like it's stale, and when I got the salmon avocado roll last time the avocado was NOT ripe. It was really hard. Their food is inexpensive as far as lunch specials but it's not worth it. The shrimp was tender but the shrimp itself were small. The salad barely had dressing on it. The service was lack-luster and the gyoza was burned(or the oil needed changing). We have been to Sushi Cafe twice in the last couple of weeks. The sushi and sashimi bento boxes were fresh and delicious. We had a dragon roll that was perfectly made looked as beautiful as it tasted. The service was excellent. We felt safe eating there with the high booths and spacing of the tables. The staff all had masks on and maintained social distancing where possible. The menu was available by scanning to your phone. The restaurant and restrooms were all very clean and we plan to make this our regular sushi spot when visiting Arlington for the Cowboys games. read more

I ordered about 6 rolls, I mean why not. They had a great selection of sushi rolls, nigiri, and sashimi. One of the things I always order is a salmon skin roll. Yes, it's a basic roll but if they are able to do basics then the speciality rolls should be great as well. Well they didn't disappoint. The salmon skin roll was crunchy, flavorful and not overpowering of fish. I was a great roll. The other rolls turned out awesome. We had the Spooky spider,White tiger, Cafe special, Shrimp crunch roll, and an order of Tako for good measure. Sushi Cafe is our go to spot in Arlington for sushi. I highly recommend them, especially if you can make it for their lunch (currently not open mid day due to COVID). Great lunch prices and delicious specials. I'm partial to the 2 roll combo or chicken bento box. My husband loves all of the sushi they offer, including the rainbow roll. The sushi looked and tasted so fresh, and the chefs are pretty generous with the cut and all. Since my lunch was sooo cheap, I decided to order a glass of Pinot Grigio.. Wow their glasses are huge and they offered a generous pour too! Talk about getting the most for your money! Dang! Lol (This just happened!) So I'm sitting here writing this review while trying to finish my generous pour of Pinot Grigio and the sweet sushi chef offers me a free plate of two salmon sashimi slices! How sweet is he!!! came here for lunch didnt realize they closed to split up lunch and dinner. so i came in 30min before closing which i hate doing but i never felt like they were annoyed so that was great! i wasnt last to leave and it was actually really busy before closing so yay! we ordered the bento lunch special and the sushi lunch special it was all prepared perfectly! everything looked great and the taste was on point. this place has a great lunch special. i got to try 3 different rolls for 8$ thats amazing it was 12 pieces of sushi and salad or soup. the bento box is i think a little more maybe 9 and it came with sashimi, gyoza, salad, sushi and etc. the servers were really nice greeting and was very helpful. i am not a fan of the seating but it is nice and private so some may like that. just felt kind of tight when it didnt need to be, my table was cleaned but it leaves a sticky residue so that was off putting. overall this is a great place to grab a quick bite to eat at under 10$ and under 20$ for two people so thats a plus if you nearby. id def eat here again. read more
