Located very close to the Bob Hope airport I was able to get a quick bite to eat before my flight with a friend. Wow! What a surprise. Very fresh! Both the food and the service were excellent. Passed this place at least 5000 times. Definite hole in the wall. Sat immediately and didn't wait over 15 min for any given order. Service was 5 star. As for the food I got stuffed jalapeño shrimp bombs gyoza yellowtail collar salmon tuna and yellowtail nigiri. The sushi was fresh. The hot food was hot and all had complimenting sauces. They have great happy hour specials and they pretty good standard sushi fare (tempura, teriyaki, sushi rolls). It's in a little strip mall and the service is commendable. I haven't had their nigiri here, but their other sushi offerings were very tasty. read more

My wife is a food professional but does not particularly favor Asian food. We have been to this restaurant twice before, first with her brother who is a sushi snob and later for a quick lunch off the menu that was very good. We found ourselves in the neighborhood once again and when I asked HRH where she wanted to go to lunch she stated the Dragon Restaurant. We were in no big rush so we sat at the bar and engaged Tommy the chef and owner. Trying to decide what to order with no success we asked Tommy to give us his best. And he did. We have never had such a fabulous casual afternoon with some of the best sushi, sashimi and appetizers ever. We don't care for imitation crab so he did not offer it but everything else was superb. what is this place? it looks horrible on the outside...i don't wanna eat here...and my boyfriend still dragged me in. sigh, great! With the start of a stereotypical name for mediocre take out/delivery restaurants. walking in, the place is tiny and it looks like a older restaurant with not much upkeep... But, I was greeted with a really friendly sushi chef. i was blown away by his food, once I had the chance to try it. It was amazing good! actually its one of the best that i've had in the north hollywood area without it being over price. Tommy, the sushi chef has a passion for the food he serves. He takes his food very seriously! He wakes up everyday to go to the fish markets to get fresh fish. Be sure to ask him what's fresh today. He makes ones of the best grilled mackerel! Not being a big fan of mackerel...i was blown away when i got the chance to try his mackerel sashimi. He said he cures his fishes based on the season...especially for mackerel, they are apparently fattier in the winter, so he uses a traditional japanese (Tokyo) method to prepare the fish to bring out the flavor. don't be skeptical to try his food. If it isn't the best, he won't be serving it to you. OMG People, how do you even rate this place with 4 stars, or even 2 stars? I had a Sashimi plate and my husband had a beef teriyaki entree from Sushi Dragon. The beef taste was just horrible, without the teriyaki sauce, you would think that you can taste the beef, right? Well it's wrong from this place! It tasted like an old paper and nothing like beef. And the Sashimi, every single fish, salmon, tuna, red snapper were all tasteless. Especially Salmon, you should able to taste the richness of fish, but NOT AT ALL! Tommy the chef is great! He takes his time but it is ALWAYS worth it. Best sushi I've ever had. He gets the fish fresh every day himself. Don't be put off by the location, it's a jewel in the rough. They made a special effort for my bday and gave me fried cheesecake with "happy birthday" written in raspberry sauce. This place is nothing to look at from the outside and you might well be inclined to drive right past. But you are going for the sushi and the prices and it would be hard to beat this combination of great food at affordable prices.
