My daughter, a regular patron here, brought me for lunch. All I can say is how much I'm impressed with not only the food, but the staff. Rose, our server was simply outstanding. My daughter explained that I am unable to eat much rice and Rose offered the perfect suggestions based on what I liked, bringing me the most flavorful and freshest pieces of tuna and salmon I've ever had locally. We also ordered a spider and rainbow roll and appetizer of sunomono salad. Everything tasted amazing. This is a small place, tucked back in the corner of the strip mall where Valu-Market and Out back steakhouse are. Completely worth the search, I assure you they will not disappoint you. Not the best I've ever had but still very tasty. The only complaint I would have is the portions vs price. The food here is fantastic! If you're not into sushi, try the ramen --typically it's only served on the lunch menu, but every time I've asked, the owner has prepared it for me in the evening as well. Really good affordable sushi and very nice owners. We ordered the chicken dumplings as appetizers and they were piping hot, fresh off the pan and the sushi was fresh as well. Coming back here again. Be aware of the 4% charge for credit card use. This is displayed at every table so it is not a surprise. Literally I wanted to get up and walk out I was so mad. It looked like chicken fingers from BK. And they charged us $2.50 for each refill of Coke. Are you serious? $2.50 for a can of Coke wth? So $5 for two cokes. Ridiculous. One roll, salmon sushi, chicken katsu and two $2 house salads was almost $50. Also the roll I ordered said $10.95 on the menu and on the bill it was $12.95. Started it all off with a miso soup so it was the quintessential sushi meal but they do it right. Some nice current pop music for ambiance. The place is setup to make your dining experience cozy and inviting. The staff is wonderful, so kind and nice. The chef is totally cool and when the work load permitted he came out to talk to folks. This place is authentic Japanese (unlike some other places) and family run. I will absolutely be coming back for more! I have no idea why so many people had a hard time finding it. We went here when Edamame was closed one day during their infamous lunch time closing hours. And I'm so glad we did. There was like no one there, you could have heard a pin drop. Sooooooooo.........that's ominous. However, I don't know why it was do dead because it was the freshest, biggest sushi for the best price we've ever had. The rice in the sushi is addicting. Pure tasting, springy, literally, THE perfect rice. And the owner is adorable. I wish they had more drinks though, I love being able to get a beer or sake with my dinner but that's ok. They make this place the most welcoming and friendly environment I can ever remember in a restaurant. I must admit that I am struggling between 4 and 5 stars for this review, because this restaurant is not an extraordinarily fancy or beautiful place to eat. Nor is the food really 5 stars. It's hard to agree, then, that this is a 5 star restaurant. It's even located in a strip mall, which doesn't exactly scream fancy. However, the service is unbeatable, and sitting at the sushi bar is your first step towards enjoying great conversation with great people. Regarding the sushi, I was pleasantly surprised by both the range of the recipes, and the quality of the food; especially considering the cost. I asked for the chef to make whatever he enjoyed making, and he prepared some very good off-menu items. This is fairly typical Americanized Korean-made Sushi, so don't expect a trip into little Tokyo. However, many nigiri and sashimi options are available, both of which I enjoyed. If I'm ever travelling in the Madison Heights area again... There's no question where I'll be. I'll be bringing a six pack of beer into Sushi Gallery to share with the restaurant staff. read more

Ordered salmon roll and white dragon roll. You see, places that are not confident in their own rolls will ALWAYS add a whole lot of sugary sauce on it to disguise whatever it is. This place did just that. In my experience if the chef is confident about the food flavor, you dont need to drown all your rolls in sweet teriyaki sauce. All the rolls tasted the same at this place. Very disappointed and will not return again. Sashimi sets were grossely overpriced. I can find much cheaper ones at half the price. I discovered Sushi Gallery totally by accident and boy am I glad I did. I always went to Noble Fish thinking it was the best in the area. Nope, the Sushi at the Sushi Gallery is incredible. Hubby and I went solely based off Yelp reviews, and we did not expect to find this gem, our new favorite! It's tucked away in a strip mall, and the atmosphere is unassuming. We were greeted warmly by the server and chef and sat down at a table of our choosing. I looked around and there weren't too many people, but I hoped that it was because we went later in the night and proceeded to order. Then came the food...awesome, awesome place! Chef was great, even came out to our table to offer us some soju for the Korean new year that just passed. Very thoughtful. The rolls were flavorful. We've tried bibimbap from many places and I must say this is the freshest we've had. Theres much more room in this place than Noble Fish, although each has their appeal. It's over priced for mediocre food. Sushi was either rolled too large or too loose. Rice to seafood was not balanced. My son's Shrimp tempura roll was mostly rice and even worse, they added some crap sweet sauce on top of it. It's the only roll he'll eat at all the sushi places we go to, and this place ruined it for him. He couldn't eat it. Not bite sized rolls at all. Another pet peeve... Single serving tea bag for your hot tea that was never refilled. Let's just say I ended my meal thirsty as @&$€! We ordered spicy pork which is a Korean dish. It only came with small thing of kimchee. Not cool man. Where's all my side dishes? Portion for spicy pork was ridiculously small and not spicy! Plus it was more pricey than other places. I wanted to love this place, I really did. I was a little skeptical because Madison Heights and Sushi don't really mix. I have a few small sushi restaurants in the area that I like to frequent, and when I thought about going to one on Tuesday, I decided to try this place instead because I've had a few people tell me about it opening. The restaurant is small and located in a very back corner of a strip mall on 14 Mile right on the East side of Campbell. Upon walking in, I was kind of surprised at how warm it was in the restaurant for being a sushi restaurant. It was very hot outside, and I completely understand that they're probably trying to save money on the air conditioning by keeping it set high since they are a new and smaller restaurant. However, we're talking about a bunch of raw fish that I'm going to eat still raw. I think it needs to be a little cooler in there! I ordered a carry out and was actually overwhelmed by how many special rolls they do have. I saw a triple spicy tuna roll and decided that it was definitely for me. I also decided to try the Pink Lady roll, which had no description on the page. My order came out really quickly and the waitress and sushi chefs were all very friendly. I just really didn't love the sushi. The triple spicy tuna roll was good, but it hard a lot of tobico wasabi on top of it. It was ruining the taste of the rest of the roll, so I scooped off a lot of it which made the roll a whole lot better. However, it wasn't very spicy. For a name with "triple spicy" in it, I would think my mouth would be on fire, which is what I wanted. It was spicy, just not as much of a kick as I wanted. The pink lady roll was just ok. I have had a pink lady roll at other sushi restaurants, and I knew it was salmon, but this one was almost like BBQ salmon on top of a cucumber roll. It was good, just not what I was expecting. Like I said, I want to like this place being that it's small, new, and local. I love sushi, and having this restaurant not too far from home makes me hope that I'll like it again. I was thinking about waiting to review until after I've tried it again, but since it is new I wanted to give it a review to get the name out there. The waitress told me that their Facebook page has their entire menu and a lot of pictures of each roll. I checked it out today and the pictures of some of the rolls look really good. The sushi is decent and worth a try, I'm guessing I just ordered quickly and maybe didn't get something that I would've liked more. I'm just comparing this place to other smaller restaurants in the area where I've had really great sushi, such as Wow. I'm sure this place will get there in time, and I'll be back to give it a second chance. read more
