$98 all you can eat and drink (beer and sake), say less!! We were able to get reservations for 4 last minute on a Friday night. They start with a 13 course omakase, my favorite bites were the toro uni with caviar, the king salmon, the striped jack and the A5 wagyu. After the 13 course you can get as many sea scallop, lean tuna, fatty tuna and unagi pieces as you want (but limited to two orders). At the end they gave us matcha ice cream which was so refreshing after all this food. We were stuffed. I don't think I made the sake and beer worth the AYCD because we only had 90 minutes and even if it seems a lot of time, it flies by. The service was amazing, they kept pouring drinks and asking for our orders right away. They don't have many spots (as many omakase places) so make reservations in advance.

In my continued journey of trying the city's AYCE omakase experiences, I was excited to try Sushi Hayashi. The place is small - there are around 12 bar seats and 2 tables of 4. The place is very clean and the manager is very friendly They were generous with the sake and other drinks. The sushi pieces were decent sizes. The omakase portion had some creative pieces with decent quality fish. AYCE portion was acceptable quality. Our options were scallop, tuna, otoro, and eel. If you don't drink, probably not worth it but otherwise, satisfied with the experience!

We came later into the service, and the waiter kept making jokes toward my friend about it, which got me annoyed after a while, instead of being funny. The $98 AYCE with sake sounded like a good deal, but the fish quality did not live up to the price. A lot of the sushi tasted warm and not especially fresh, which is the last thing you want for omakase-style sushi. The fatty tuna and scallop were the only pieces that really stood out in a good way. The sake and matcha dessert were decent, but not enough to save the meal. For the price, there are definitely much better sushi spots in the city.

I always find a reason to celebrate with sushi. So my boyfriend and I were visiting New York, he surprised me by bringing me to Hayashi Omakase for a date night. The all-you-can-eat omakase was exactly what I dreamt of. The 14-course experience moves quickly and hits all the marks--2 appetizers, 10 sushi with different toppings, 1 maki, and a dessert. The quality is phenomenal for AYCE. My favorite was the ayce item was the hotate which was soft and sweet. After the course, we got 2 rounds to re-order our favorites: unagi, lean tuna, fatty tuna, and scallops. The AYCE nigiri are simple but delicious. Sitting at the counter watching the chefs work was the perfect vibe for a date night. Service was friendly, and the price point is great for what you get. I left 200% full and already planning my next visit--next time I'm coming prepared and hungry to make the most of those re-order rounds.

If you're looking for a good deal with decent sushi, this is your place. If you're looking for an actual omakase experience, then maybe you should look elsewhere. Its $98 for a 14 course meal + 2 rounds of AYCE between 4 sushi options (scallop, akami, otoro, grilled eel) + unlimited drinks. Most people got anywhere from 2-10 extra pieces of sushi on top of the 14 course so of course the cost per sushi is great. Sushi quality was solid: fish pieces were fresh for the most part, wasabi spicy, and rice was fine. However besides the wagyu, none of the fish-based sushi impressed me like how other omakase places typically do. They do make it very clear that if you do not finish your sushi, you will be charged extra. What detracted from my experience was not only how I felt extremely rushed, but also the fact that the sushi pieces were already pre-made and there was absolutely no interaction with the chef. Even though they explicitly say that we have 1-2:20pm for the lunch time slot, we were done with 14 courses by 1:40pm (when typically an equivalent amount would take the full hour) and completely done with both rounds of AYCE by 2pm. I am not a slow eater and I felt like I could barely keep up with the pace. There were two chefs and chef A was making all of one type of sushi, while chef B was making all of one type of the next course. Neither of them formally introduced the sushi type nor ingredients, so I felt like I was just stuffing down fish and rice that I couldn't even fully enjoy. Towards the end, I also saw the chefs start to assemble sushi (not just prep the ingredients) for the dinner shift, when I thought the whole point was to do this spontaneously and freshly. It wasn't even 2:20pm yet and staff members already went out for their smoke break, leaving their last customers alone inside. Overall, I see the cost friendly appeal of this place and ACYE component, but again was far off from my other omakase experiences.

This place is an absolute gem located in midtown east. Being my first ever omekase experience I was confused on what I would be getting after knowing the price point would be 96 dollars. However being all you can eat, I made sure to come here prepared with an empty stomach. Eat serving session last under 90 mins and you are required to finish all your food within that time frame. There are 14 courses (10 or so with meat, 2 vegetarian appetizers and matcha ice cream at the end of the all you can eat). I enjoyed the various flavors of the omekase experience and they come out relatively fast. Then they two rounds of orders where you can choose between fatty and lean tuna, scallops and eel and how much of any of the four you want. My party of three and I really loved the eel and we were able all finish around 40 additional pieces after the original 14 course omekase. There is not a lot of seating, so we were on a small plastic table by the back. Vibes were great and staff was amazing. I enjoyed my first time eating omekase and would recommend, especially being all you can eat, you do feel that you can get your moneys worth. We all had a good time and also enjoyed the matcha ice cream too at the end.

Pretty good experience for an AYCE and under $100 pp omakase. The first 13 pieces were interesting combinations and tasted yummy. That part went by pretty quickly, definitely a no frills place. The AYCE portion- you get two rounds of four different choices. I haven't seen scallop as one of the AYCE options before so that was nice but I understand what too many scallops taste like now. Don't get too many pieces of the fatty tuna either, they torch them and the pieces get so oily.

The AYCE omakase has been quite trendy here in NYC and I just couldn't wait to try one out. There were quite a few places around NY offering this experience for a wide price range. They usually keep it around or below $100 tho to make it marketable to the public. After much researching on tiktok along with reading google reviews, I settled on picking Sushi Hayashi, located in Midtown East, Manhattan. It was also the place that I could get a reservation one week in advance. For $98, you can get 14 course omakase. On top of that, you also get 2 rounds of unlimited sushi plus drinks including beer and sake. Honestly, I think it's a very good deal. I didn't know what to expect but the quality of the main sushi courses were really good. The sashimi was so fresh and buttery. I also liked that you got really fancy with some of the pieces by adding caviar and gold dust. Obviously, there were some pieces that were just meh but overall it was still high quality. After the 13 main sushi courses, the server would go around taking orders for the unlimited sushi portion of the night. You are given 4 choices of either fatty tuna, lean tuna, scallop or eel sushi. You can order as much as you can eat and they do a 2nd round of orders so you can pace yourself. I like that they put a small amount of rice for each piece so you are not full so easily. This experience was definitely experience but worth it in my opinion. If you are ever in NY, I highly recommend making reservations for one of the AYCE omakase restaurants.

Food: 4.5/5 I had the 14 course omakase and AYCE sushi for $98. The quality of the sushi is not as good as other omakase spots, but it is still clearly better than majority of sushi restaurants. The striped jack and spot prawn were my favorite pieces. After the omakase portion, they give two rounds of AYCE and you can select from sea scallop, lean tuna, fatty tuna, and unagi (eel). I had 15 scallops, 10 lean, and 15 fatty and called it a day. For $98 it was really worth an omakase and unlimited sushi. Service: 4/5 The waiters were very attentive and always checked in to make sure we had everything. If our glass was low, they were sure to bring a refill. My only complaint is the omakase portion felt rushed. Sushi omakase usually comes one piece at a time. There were times the next piece would be given before the prior piece was finished eating. I didn't feel like I got to enjoy every piece at a normal pace. Everyone finished eating the omakase and AYCE within 1 hour and the given time slot is 1 hour 20 minutes so it felt rushed when there was plenty of time. Ambiance: 5/5 Sushi Hayashi is a small restaurant with 8 bar seats and a couple of tables to the side. It is well lit and cozy and very comfortable.

    - I've been arranging a once a month ayce/aycd outing for my friends and tho the other restaurants in our rotation (souraji-east and west/hatsu) are far more convenient for me, I've noticed their quality noticeably declining with time. Hayashi however, has stayed consistent. - they offer less alcohol options than the other places but as far as sushi quality goes (consideirng they're the all the same price) hayashi is currently the best ayce omakase the city has to offer - unless the others locations change course, hayashi will be where I'll be hosting our monthly ayce/aycd dinners from now on

Such a fun experience. Their all-you-can-eat sushi deal is absolutely worth it, especially since it includes things like scallop and charred fatty tuna, which you don't usually get unlimited. Not a big fan of unagi but their homemade sauce was great and I actually found myself getting repeats of their unagi. The host was super charming and entertaining, which made the night even better. Even though we weren't sitting at the counter, the service was still great and we felt well taken care of the whole time. Overall, great value, great vibes, and a really enjoyable spot if you're in the mood to eat a lot of good sushi.

A cute smallestablishment tucked in the East 50th street residential area. The waiter was very down to earth, chill and accommodating. He came to check on me a few times. Now, the concept of unlimited omakase has been catching on and getting very popular. You get a set course meal then at the end, you get two rounds of unlimited pieces of sea scallop, lean tuna, fatty tuna and/or unagi. Love the concept and my stomach was happy too. Make sure you order strategically or else, you'll end up feeling bloated and unable to finish. Mind you, they'll charge you $6 per unfinished piece in the allotted time. The experience overall was intimate and yummy. I do have to agree with a few reviews here where the topping (such as salt or lemon zest) overpowered the flavor. There were a few pieces where I wish they put less so the fish can shine more. Nonetheless, I would still come back.

All you can eat and drink Two appetizers, 10 course Omakase, one roll and dessert + drinks. $98 Get a selection of two different Sakes, various beers and soft drinks all included in the price. You then can choose from four options for the all-you-can-eat portion: sea scallop, lean tuna, fatty tuna, Unagi. Overall, great price for what you get. $98 + tip in tax. It's a steal however there are a bunch of places like this and I would put this one in the average category. Not many places nearby who do this. So check it out Best pieces: - Sea bream, yellowtail, lean tuna, unagi on Omakase. I'm not a fan of scallop or shrimp, but everyone else loved it. - AYCE: lean tuna, unagi. Again, I don't like scallop, but everyone else ordered multiple pieces. The fatty tuna was charred so after a few pieces, it all tasted the same. But those few pieces were great. Service was fantastic, and our drinks were filled continuously. They are pretty quick and within 35 minutes you finish the Omakase and then another 30 minutes you're done with the AYCE portion. So pace yourself

I came here to throw down on some seafood and that's exactly what we did. I found out about this place because one of my favorite TikTok foodies posted that she came here when she was visiting from Chicago. It was also my friend's birthday so we figured we'd check it out. If you come with a group of 4 or more, including the birthday person, they eat for free, which is a pretty nice perk. This place lived up to every bit of the hype. We did the $125 option which includes lobster. If you have people in your group who are on the fence about spending the extra money, just remind them it's only about $35 more and that's basically the cost of one lobster anywhere else. Here you're getting unlimited lobster. The food literally just kept coming. At one point we were running out of room on the table. One thing I really appreciated was that the staff noticed and started putting multiple items on the same plates instead of bringing everything out separately. It sounds small but it actually helped a lot and showed they were paying attention. The drinks weren't super strong but they definitely weren't weak either. If you love seafood, come hungry and bring a group. The vibes were great, the service was on point, and we left absolutely stuffed.

It's honestly a seafood lover's dream. I highly recommend coming with a large group so you can try a bit of everything. The service was impeccable from start to finish. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this place to others.

The ambiance feels straight of the golden age, which is an aesthetic I'm certainly a sucker for. Even their robust cocktail menu fits the bill and is one of the prettiest menus I've ever had the joy of perusing. Staff was able to sit us a little bit ahead of our reservation which was also much appreciated. Wait staff was also very helpful and attentive, I don't think I've ever had my water glass so topped off! Starting off with cocktails, this place is a gin bar through and through and you'd be making a mistake if you didn't try one of their many options. I went with the 10,000 words, which you simply just give a spirit of your choice (I picked gin of course) and whether you antes) wanted your drink shaken or stirred and the bartender does the rest, so a bit of a surprise! I wound up with their version of The Last Word which was delightfully citrusy but I was hoping I'd wind up with something a little more adventurous app things considered. My girlfriend got the blackberry G&T, which was not only very pleasing to look at but delicious to boot. For food, we started with splitting some zucchini blossoms and beef cheek bao buns (both come in portions of 3). Both were tasty, but I love a good bao bun and these were so light and pillowy, I could have just went for an order of those for my main course. For the entree I went for the roasted half chicken, perhaps the most unassuming choice on the menu but this was maybe the best roast chicken I've ever had. Prepared perfectly, cooked to perfection, excellent portion size, and the kicker of it all was the stunning gravy that I was tempted to lick my plate for. Chicken is very easy to screw up, and they nailed it on all fronts here. My girlfriend went for the Valerie Signature burger with white cheddar and this thing did not mess around! A very rich patty, cooked to her temperature of choice served alongside some garlic truffle fries that made an American classic feel just a little more elevated. Our experience was delightful and I'd love to comeback here again, especially to check out more of the cocktail menu and soak in more of that golden age aura the place gives.

I felt unwelcome, which was tough since I came here for dinner before a Broadway show, & was left without many other available options. I arrived 25 minutes late for my reservation, but was told that my only option was to sit at the bar due to their 30 minute grace period being up (which wasn't true). I looked around the restaurant & saw it was only 20% full, but the hostess then said all the open tables are reserved for guests who are arriving soon. Based on what I saw, it was hard to believe her. I checked open table to see if any reservations were available, and sure enough there was one at 6:15pm -- mind you, I arrived at the restaurant at 5:55pm. So I book the 6:15pm table & inform the hostess. I then sat down to wait for 6:15 to come. As I waited, I noticed the hostess asked each incoming guest whether they were attending a Broadway show & what time each show was at so that they could ensure the guests made it out on time. At 6:06, she comes & says she can seat me because another guest cancelled, which again, I found hard to believe. As she leads me to my table, I noticed she didn't ask if there was a show I was attending, nor the show's start time. I stopped & asked if she wanted to know my show time before seating me, & she looked so surprised. The honest truth is that the hostess did not treat me like a customer. Instead, I felt unwelcome & couldn't help but wonder if it was related to me being Black the only Black person in the restaurant. The food was ultimately alright, but the service here really ruins the experience.

To order, you fill out a paper sheet for the raw bar items and place a separate order in the back for kitchen fare. Every time I've been here, the seafood has been incredibly fresh and delicious. It's definitely not cheap though and our most recent meal came out to almost $500 after tip. We ordered: - 2 bread bowl NE clam chowders ($15 ea)--delicious and hearty. The peasant loaf bread was fine and everyone enjoyed it - 6oz lobster roll ($38)--a delicious cold lobster roll with a mayo-based sauce, great flavor, and a soft buttery bun - 20 oysters ($3.75 ea)--all fresh and delicious, primarily East Coast oysters although they occasionally have some West Coast ones. Fisher's Island was akin to drinking straight sea water - 5 Peruvian scallops--small and sweet with a strawberry sauce - 2 California uni ($19 ea)--one was incredibly sweet, clean tasting, and much better than the other, which was slightly more bitter and minerally - 2 diver scallops ($15 ea)--drizzled with olive oil, yuzu, and sea salt - 8 shrimp cocktail ($3.25 ea)--one of the most unworth things I've tried in recent times because the shrimp was so cold it tasted barely thawed and was watery with almost no flavor You order at the counter or via paper ticket and they bring everything to your table. Staff have always been friendly and service was great. They sell fresh fish and some frozen specialty items like escargot. I don't know if anything would ever deter me from coming back here :)
