Process was simple enough and it was ready in the timeframe given by the app. Sushi (yellowtail roll, egg sushi, and was good, thought I say that about anything that doesn't taste rancid or makes me sick. When I went to pick up the order (which can be a pain with the parking situation - try one street over, Court St) it was packed and loud. I've come here twice now and always a super fun time with great food and drinks. Most recently I came and thought I made a reservation but actually didn't..and the host was able to still seat us! Had amazing spicy garlic edamame, multiple good cocktails and cucumber avocado rolls with spicy Mayo. They had gluten free soy sauce which was a major plus for me! Definitely will be back. read more

Really an all-around positive experience. They have made the most of what they can work with for outdoor dining, as it's nestled in an alley between buildings, but it's not fair to judge a restaurant that was never equipped for outdoor dining before. A tent and heating lamps were all we really needed. We never felt forgotten by the waitstaff; they were attentive and always brought refills or requests quickly. An upper-middle class lounge and bar combined with a sushi bar, it seems. Loud, noisy music by a DJ plays in the background as people sit and eat sushi or stand at the bar and socialize, filled with the local office park workers after any given day, it's basically Hoboken's Sushi Lounge, just add 10~15 years to the crowd's age. Parking is somewhat of a pain, as is driving in the area - a lot of one-ways that don't always connect up nicely. The municipal lot is across the street free after 6, as are the meters, but they fill up fast. There's an open lot at the end of the street, though. They don't seat you unless your party is present in its entirety. Sushi here varies... a mix of classic and American sushi types, with a decent amount of fish, but it's not always cold. At least when it says "spicy" it actually tastes moderately spicy, unlike many places. But at $2 extra over the price of a regular roll, well, seems a bit much. Seating is not uncomfortable, but there's no back support on their chairs. Smaller tables, too. Everything's fairly dark in terms of lighting (although not as much as the Hoboken Sushi Lounge). And yes, it is expensive, for Morristown, and sushi in general I've had better, cheaper, and larger. read more

I don't frequent Morristown often so I was looking for a lunch spot close to the courthouse and of course turned to trusty Yelp, for options. Sushi Lounge was an option, it was close by and had adequate stars to warrant a visit. I stopped in around 1 p.m. and asked for a single seat at the sushi bar. The place is pretty big inside and already had a decent amount of tables seated for lunch. I browsed their lunch menu and noticed the best lunch special in sushi land, EVER: ANY two specialty rolls for $20.00. Boom. Sold. Most places offer a 2 or 3 roll special (with miso soup or salad) and the rolls are basic Maki rolls. Even though Sushi Lounge did provide this option, they also offered the $20.00 lunch special keeping me and my comrades who love more adventurous rolls in mind. I looked through the long list and wanted to try so many options- majority ranged from $12-16.00. I decided on two rolls which were each $14.00. *Directly from the menu I chose: Totowa Roll - spicy tuna, shrimp, avocado and tempura flakes, topped with salmon and spicy mayonnaise wrapped in soy paper. Bird of Pardise Roll - Made with salmon and mango topped with tuna, avocado and drizzled with sumiso (sweet miso) sauce and finished with shredded wonton skin. The Totowa roll was awesome. Perfect amount of spicy sauce and the tempura flakes are placed on top so you can remove them if you don't prefer the crunchy element. The Bird of Paradise came equipped with mango (score! i normally try to search this out on the menu because its the perfect accompaniment in my opinion) and salmon and the sauce made it just a bit sweet which was a nice pairing with my spicy Totowa roll. This place would have potentially gotten 5 stars but the service was a bit inattentive and I think a bit more fish could have been added to the rolls. Negatives: My sushi was done before my miso soup was served. The sushi chef asked if I wanted it with my soup - (noticing I hadn't been served it yet) and I had to tell him to hold off until it arrived. Don't get me wrong, my waiter was super nice but I also never got a water refill (and I was in need of it) and after asking for it, I also had to ask for the check so I could get back to work. There were other servers there that were happy to help and my tummy was full of delicious sushi so all ended well. read more

My favorite spot is at the bar, the bartender Alex seems to always be in a great mood, I always want to try new drinks and he always know what to recommend me. I always want my food to be better when I go to the Sushi Lounge... But maybe that's the point. I'd like to say that the ingredients are not the best- you can taste the difference. How? I'll first start with the atmosphere, it's tough during the day to get the attention of the service staff if you sit by the bar. The music is loud, house like, I suppose that's the draw. The fish is 2nd grade- or maybe they are using pre-sliced, I think it's the latter. AND the former. I expect to have a bit more of that UMAMI-like flavor. Surprise me in a couple words. Freshest sushi i've ever had! I came in for my reservation and was greeted by a whole bunch of smiling faces as soon as i walked in , every time i come here they make me feel like family. It was packed today but they still got things done in a timely manner and maintained a high energy attitude when things got hard. The fish is so fresh! The dumplings are to die for! Anything you order comes with a guaranteed satisfaction. I come here all the time with my friends and family and id recommend it for business dinners, birthday dinners, a night out with the girls, literally anything. Went last night for sushi with 4 friends. Had a reservation. But they obviously weren't prepared. Squeezed 5 of us in a table for 4. We made it work. The place was busy, as usual for a Friday in Morristown. It took at least 20 min for our waitress to come. By the time she did, we had our drinks, apps and entrees picked out and ready to order. It took another 30 min and me flagging down a different waitress to get water and our drinks finally. Something about the bartender hurting his finger? Didn't need to know this. Then we asked if we could at least have our edamame. We were starving. Finally 10 min later, apps came out. She proceeded to tell us the kitchen was slammed. Not our concern. No plates brought and when we asked, it felt like we were inconveniencing her. About 20 min later our rolls came out. No little cups for soy sauce and one roll was missing. She finally came back and we asked about it and she seemed surprised. Obviously she forgot it. Came after. And finally the little soy sauce bowls after we asked...most of the sushi had already been consumed. Never asked if we wanted more to drink...water finally refilled right before the check came. A manager finally made his rounds to see how we were doing. Told him about it all. Nothing was done. No apology and nothing comped. Very disappointed. Just because you are a busy venue in Morristown doesn't warrant this type of service. Food was good. Service horrendous. read more

I've been coming here for almost 10 years. My good friend is friends with one of the owners. The other owner, Andrew, is horrific and made me so uncomfortable. I ordered my favorite Chilean Seabass rolls and they were not right - thin and dry. Andrew told me I was wrong and they will not remake them for me. He said he tried them and they were fine. We have been going to the Sushi Lounge in Morristown for years. 5 years ago I would have given it 5 stars, but unfortunately they have let their standards fall dramatically. On our last visit the Sashimi cuts on the Tuna Lover we're so poor that they were chewy to the point of being inedible. When we sent half the plate back there was not even a feigned attempt to correct the issue. My wife's order was also incorrect (server confirmed he had written it correctly but entered it in the computer wrong) and by the time it arrived I had already returned half of mine. We won't be back again. It's a shame as their Hoboken location is so far superior in maintaining standards. read more

Sushi lounge has a nicer ambience than any other Japanese restaurant in the Morristown green area, and I love that they serve alcohol (sometimes you just don't want to bring in your own bottle). Their rolls are fun and delish and we enjoy trying new ones every time. Their sashimi combo or sushi combo is fulfilling and always comes with a good selection. Additionally, their kitchen entrees as well are good, excellent salmon teriyaki and Korean bbq pork, if you want something besides sushi. Overall, if you're craving Japanese and you are in Morristown -- particularly for a date or want to drink cocktails - this is the restaurant to go to. read more

Before I get started I just want to note Sushi lounge is conveniently located right next to a parking lot which is extremely helpful in a town where it's impossible to find street parking! So already it's a win. This particular location is slightly bigger and more open than the Hoboken location. I love coming here for a few reasons.... they have great cocktails from sangria, mixed drinks, martinis to wine. Wednesday is half priced martinis with a very robust happy hour menu so you can enjoy an early dinner at a reasonable price. I find the food at sushi lounge to be consistent and never had a bad experience. I particularly love the variety of the menu which includes your traditional rolls but also 2 pages of specialty roles. You can come here often and always have different choices. They also serve small hot plates which is great if you have a non sushi eater in the group. The staff is friendly and attentive... sometimes too attentive. A few times I found the server trying to take drink and dinner orders too quick and felt rushed; however, they never rush you out to turn a table. I learned to politely tell them I need some time and they usually get the hint. I'm assuming they think they are giving great service but it could be a tad aggressive. Genuinely depressing visit. This place was once the crown jewel of the Morristown sushi/social scene, my wife and I had countless amazing meals here. Returned tonight after a 5+ years and honestly, what happened? The menu now is like an Asian diner: bowls, burritos, sushi, Thai, bento boxes; it's anxiety inducing. We got 3 appetizers, the rock shrimp and shumai tasted like they were right out of a box. The jalapeño yellowtail was 4 small pieces for $15!? Then dinner. Oh boy. I would honestly compare the sushi to what you might get in a grocery store? The sushi burrito my daughter got was inedible. Then for dessert (we only ordered dessert bc it was my daughters birthday), the mochi ice cream was 2 tiny pieces cut in half (for some reason) served in a whipped cream bath!?? I saw some of the reviews here and had to comment about one posted just the other day. First, I've patronized this lounge several times. The only complaint that I have is it can be a little loud on busier weeknights (Thur-Fri and Sat). But I just avoid those nights or ask to sit toward the back. Yes, it's expensive but some restaurants are. They have the menu in the window--if you don't like the prices, don't come in. The food is great. They have a great offering of items and it's one of the better sushi restaurants I've been to. One of my friends doesn't like sushi and they have a good enough selection to accommodate her. Anyone who thinks it was bland on flavor must have no taste buds. Sorry. The decor reminds me of a Manhattan restaurant. Very trendy. Ignore the naysayers and try it. read more

So my initial contact with sushi lounge was a bit rocky. Initially though I was staying in a hotel within their 5 mile delivery range (3.6 miles away) and they were on Yelp delivery, they indicated they would not deliver to the hotel in parsippany I was in. I initially called due to their showing up on a gluten free search since their online menu did not specify what was or was not GF. But the manager was nice enough to realize that since they did advertise the delivery and there was no mention of exclusion of the county I was in that delivery was still an option. Glad they did their food was great and the folks I spoke with on the phone had great customer service skills. Hope next time I travel to this area they continue to deliver ;) read more
