Great food but horrible takeout service. They lost my $65 dollar order of takeout sushi. Manager was completely indifferent and dismissive. Refused to take any responsibility despite handing the food out to the wrong person. Apparently anyone at anytime can enter the restaurant and grab any of the takeout bags sitting out front.Wanted to support my neighborhood sushi during these times but won't make that mistake again. Bento boxes were hot and the CA rolls set in them were hot so we tossed those. The Yakisoba noodles tasted like an alkaline metal. Went here last night on in spur the moment date night with my man since we had gotten a gift card for Christmas and still hadn't used it! Monday nights are definitely the night to go. There is a list of sushi rolls that are half off. So we just ordered from there, which I'm glad we randomly came on a Monday because if we hadn't our bill would have been over $80. The sushi is super good but I do feel like $15+ for a roll is a lot. My absolute favorite roll from the night was the chronic!!! Omg! I wish I had ordered at least two of it! Holy crap so good. The Tasmanian roll was my second favorite and then a deep fried roll that I can't remember the name. We ordered the happy wife roll... not a fan, The cilantro and jalapeño on top are way too overpowering and it leaves a weird flavor in your mouth after. I had the cocomo shrimp roll- slightly sweet, crunchy, and really good! My mom had the teriyaki bowl and she said it was very good too. But I flagged down a waitress who told us we could use any of the open tables as they had already been spaced for precautions. The waitress recommended the garlic edamame and since I never had that before I was down. It was the best, most flavorful edamame I've had. Order it. You'll thank me later. We followed up with bento boxes (teriyaki salmon and chicken katsu). Both were amazing. The salmon was moist and flavorful. Perfectly cooked. The chicken was perfectly fried. Not greasy at all. We came here on a recommendation from a friend. He raves about the Short Ribs. First off, I must say, that the wait staff was very attentive. They had pleasant attitudes, our water glasses were always filled and our empty dishes were picked up in a timely way and they inquired often if the food was OK (which seemed a bit odd, actually). The food was prettily arranged. The background music was pleasant enough; some kind of jazz that contributed to the relaxing atmosphere. The restaurant appeared clean. So no complaints there. We were give 4 different menus; some kind of restaurant week special menu, a sushi bar menu of creative sushi fare, the regular lunch menu, and another that I don't recall the content. We decided to go with Bento Boxes. He ordered the Short Ribs and I ordered the Katsu Chicken. A side of Crispy Calamari, and another side of Seaweed Salad. Yelp offered a free Garlic Edamame, so we ordered that also. We started with the small bowl of Miso soup, and initially it had a good flavor yet after a few spoonfuls I realized it was heavily salted. In fact, a couple of other items contained way too much salt; my Katsu sauce, and the Garlic Edmame. We went through a lot of water. Sometimes one doesn't really notice how salty something is until about halfway through a food item. A third of the Seaweed salad was actually marinated cucumbers. The other two thirds was two kinds of seaweed; enough for one person but definitely not enough to share... though we did. I would have been happier with a bowlful of the Chuka alone. The Calamari was mostly batter (tempura?). Aside from the salt, the Garlic Edamame had an unusual flavor (in a good way); almost floral or woodsy? And then there were the Bento Boxes. Disappointing. No Vegetable Tempura, instead Edamame was subbed in both boxes. No mention was made about that when the boxes were placed in front of us. Did they think we would not notice? It turned into Edamame overload. Had we known they were going to do that, we would not have ordered the side of Garlic Edamame (even though it was a Yelp perk). The Short Ribs were no better or worse than what one would find at an inexpensive Chinese buffet. The small amount of Katsu Chicken was hard and dry. The Katsu sauce was VERY salty and drowned out any flavor the strips of chicken might have had. And though I poured what was left of it over my rice, I could barely eat it. What was good and fresh and enjoyable was the mixed green salad with a light Asian dressing, and the 4 pieces of California Roll. Which tells us this place is probably more about their Sushi than anything else (yeah, I know... SUSHI Lounge). Otherwise too much like a higher end fast food restaurant. read more

Came here with my family on a recommendation. When we arrived there were a lot of tables open so I was excited that we would be able to get seated immediately.. Instead, we were told there was a 15 to 20 minute wait. After about 15 minutes we were seated at one of the open tables. We waited about another 10 minutes and were greeted by our server. We ordered a few rolls, a couple of soups and gyoza. The rolls came out before our drinks or water. We asked for utensils and also had to ask for wasabi for our rolls. The service was slow so I observed if other tables were being waited on. What I did notice was our server was working the tables both in and out, along with one other server doing the same. Meanwhile, you had the hostess bouncing around to all the tables, unsure of what she was doing. We ordered another dish, and got something different and were still waiting for the miso soups and gyoza. The miso soup finally arrived. It was good.. all the rolls were good but the gyoza tasted as though it came out of a cardboard box, heated and served. Our server was extremely nice but a bit scattered. I'm sure it's due to all the tables she had to wait on both inside and out. Many times when we eat sushi, it's one of the quicker meals. This dinner went just shy of two hours. read more

Whether we are getting take out or sitting down to eat with some of the top notch servers, Rob typically takes care of us and is so knowledgeable with the fish and menu that we almost always find a new specialty roll to try. I've been going to Sushi Lounge for about a year now. Before, it has always had good sushi, but after today, their customer service is what will drive me away. I ordered over the phone for a simple two person meal and they said it will take approximately 20 minutes. I arrive within 20-25 minutes to pick up my order and it is not ready. Most times, I don't care to wait a few minutes, but, I waited for an extra 20 minutes while watching other to go orders for Post Mates and Uber eats be prioritized over my order. Finally, after I asked for the fourth time if my food would be ready, they finally brought it out. When I got home, of course, another disappointment. I ordered the teriyaki bento box and I was starved and so excited to finally eat. They gave me only four and a half small pieces of chicken which barely held me over and they forgot my miso soup. I got take out here for lunch yesterday and got the lunch combo two rolls plus miso soup for $18. The miso soup was really good I'm used to just getting broth with nothing in it. There was a bunch of mushrooms, scallions, and I think seaweed floating around. It was a pleasant surprise. I got the crunchy roll and the spider roll they both were really well put together and came with sauces on the side, wasabi, and ginger. I hate going to sushi places and having to ask for the ginger and wasabi! They were really tasty. My friend got the crunchy and cocomo roll I think I'll get that one next time it was really delicious. I will definitely be going back there! They also were really friendly and had a bottle of hand sanitizer out to use (coronavirus for people that read this years later). read more

We came here unexpectedly on a Friday night at 8:30 pm when the other sushi place down the steeet (Umi Sushi) took forever to even acknowledge us when we walked in. We came here not knowing what to expect but as soon as we walked in we were greeted right away and the host got a table cleaned up to seat us. Anthony was our server and was great. Now for the food...OMG sushi was so yummy. Ordered the Albacore Special, Tasmanian Devil and Chronic Roll. They we're all amazing!! Fresh food, fish was of quality and rolls weren't covered in rice like some places that skimp on the fish and put too much rice. So happy to find a great place to eat while on vacation.
