As far as suburbia goes, this is a solid sushi spot! It's my favorite local (between highlands ranch, Littleton and Lone Tree). I come for lunch and happy hour quite often, and I usually sit at the bar or on the patio. The staff is attentive And the wait is never long. I typically stick to rolls here, although I've had some great sashimi, too. (Seared tuna, super white tuna, seared salmon.) My favorite rolls are the playboy roll, the bronco roll, and the wasabi roll. read more

Sushi Mango is quite close to where I live so instead of driving 20 minutes to my usual go to place I thought I would hop in my car and taste the food at sushi mango. The fish in the sushi was one of the lowest qualities I have tasted. You would imagine the tuna would be fresh but it tasted as if it was cured with chemicals. I tasted the sushi and immediately spit it out(pictured below). I also ordered a noodle soup bowl, which had rubbery noodles and a horrific dish water tasting broth. Overall through the diversity of the menu not a single portion was well deserving of more than one star. Would not recommend coming here for convenience or to go out for a good sushi dinner. Definitely recommend taking the time to drive to some of the more premium quality sushi stops near the heart of Denver. read more

Being a small storefront, when the door opens, you get hit with a bit of a chill. And, our usual waiter sometimes disappears for a bit. Finally... amazing sushi down south. I must admit, when I like something, I tend to stick with it for some time. I've been here 3 times in about a span of 10 days and have gotten amazing sushi each time! My favorite dishes: Chirashi, wow.. once I upload this picture, I believe everyone will be wanting to try this. Sashimi over rice is not only healthy, its quite delicious. This is the first time I had tamagoyaki (grilled egg sushi) in my Chirashi before and it wont be the last. Ahi Tuna Tower - simply amazing. The chef drizzles a sauce around this tuna plate that has a mixture of crab in it. Manhattan Roll - simple roll, but for some reason it's my favorite. I've had sushi at many places around the world... Nobu, Matsuhisa, Katsuya... and I'm sick of having to travel so far to get my sushi fix. This place has proved itself a fantastic date spot/I-want-sushi-so-screw-it location. In Highlands Ranch! Who'd have thought? We'll be back again even though we've moved out of the area. Waitstaff is great. Sushi chefs are great. Don't have to wait for refills and appetizers and dinner come out quickly and in order! This is one of those places where my husband will take a bite and shut his eyes to savor it. Get the mango roll. It's delightful. If you're out and it's date night and you have cash to spare, get the Alaskan Crab "sashimi". Delicious. There's an albacore sashimi but I can't remember the name. Lightly seared on the outside. Beautiful and light! Sushi and sashimi is always fresh and beautiful and presentation is lovely. Sushi rice is on point. I've never had a bad roll here until I discovered that raw scallops are not for me but my husband loved them and ate the rest of the roll for me so I can say with confidence that it was my own problem and not the roll's. I'm not sure I like the shaved, white button mushrooms in the miso soup but my husband likes it so again, my problem, not the soups. If you don't want them, it seems like they're added after the soup is poured so I bet you can request they leave them out of it. Dinner salads are yummy. Love the dressing. Service is great and only once, on busy Valentines Day, was it ever a little slow. And we had two giant Asahi beers and a full platter of sushi to distract ourselves so this was barely noticeable. Who needs water when you have a gigantic bottle of beer? Go here. Seriously. You will not find better sushi in Highlands Ranch, Co. You just won't. read more

This sushi place has a lot of cooked rolls in addition to raw ones if that's what pulls your heart strings. Sadly they make what, I personally feel, are giant sushi rolls which don't fit in my mouth in one bite and yet totally fall apart if you try to bite it in half. They also don't have any cool alternatives to nori like seasoned soy paper. For those reasons I always drive further away to visit Blue Sushi Sake grill by the theater. (They have amazing happy hour too.) The other reason we rarely visit here is I always get the feeling that the waitstaff hate serving you. I don't really want to go to a restaurant where the mood is so dour. If it's killing them to serve me when I'm extremely polite, happy and respectful, the person should probably change jobs but I've gotten that vibe every single time we've visited whether the restaurant was slow or busy. read more

This review is on my delivery experience, so perhaps the dining experience merits a 4 star rating. Good: The delivery is free. Bad: The delivery took an hour and twenty minutes. I realize sushi can take some time, but this seems pretty excessive considering I live close to the restaurant. I ordered combination fried rice, rainbow roll, bronco roll, playboy roll, spicy tuna roll, and 4 pieces of sashimi. The delivered the hot rice with my cold sushi rolls stacked on top of each other in the same bag. My sushi was luke warm, as was my rice. Not appetizing. The playboy roll which is raved about in reviews on here was not great, the crunchy tempura was very soggy- perhaps this is one of those things that should not be ordered take out. The rest of the rolls and rice were just meh, I've had far better at other local establishments for a fraction of the cost. Definitely not worth the $80 including tip for delivery driver. read more

Wow. Just wow. Came here with a Groupon and have been here before. First time was promising, it wasn't the best sushi ever but worth another try since it's so close to us. But this time we got several specialty rolls and specifically asked for brown rice on two of them. As we were eating, we were noticing now tiny the rolls were. Very tasty but so little rice they were just like appetizers to us instead of a complete dinner. We were already $40 into it too so hoping to be at least moderately for when we left. Then, we also noticed that the brown rice was not at all brown; it was very, very white. I'm very experienced with brown rice so I know what it looks like. So we told the waiter about the brown rice and also about how paltry the rice around it was. I mean, I've never seen a sushi roll with this little rice around it. He said he'd check on it and then came back and told us that we were mistaken, that it is brown rice but that it just looks really white and he confirmed with the chef that it's brown Didn't say anything about the amount of rice at all. I looked very nonplussed I'm sure, but he just walked away. Then he came back, left our bill quickly and scurried away as if he didn't want to talk to us anymore. We had a Groupon so kept trying to get his attention so we could apply it. But he never would make eye contact with us again. So then, I noticed a lady who looked like the owner and pulled her over and asked her to apply the Groupon. Then I asked her if she was the owner and she said yes. So I told her that our rice was definitely not brown and also that our issue with the amount of rice was never addressed. She told us that she also confirmed the rice was indeed brown and that because it's different consistency it packs differently and looks smaller (BS). I said no it was not that but rather it was as if a thin single-Grain layer was surrounding the roll. She said, well come in next time and maybe it will be better. I said, "we are not coming back based on this." And she said NOTHING and WALKED AWAY. You can see by my other reviews I'm not some sort of constant complainer so not looking for things to get upset about. But boy, were my husband and I both upset when we left. Our waiter came back with our credit card, left it on the table and didn't say thank you or anything. Hard to believe someone cares that little about their customers, but clearly these people don't give a crap. It's too bad cuz their sushi is pretty good for a suburban sushi place, and maybe you'll get a decent amount of rice when you go but if you don't or have any other issue, don't count on anyone trying to address your concerns. read more

They made the place much nicer than it was under previous owners. Service was good as well and prices comparable to other places. They do a 20% off during happy hour and a free small sake when you mention the ad on the website. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star is because even thought they give you 20% off, the happy hour rolls are smaller, so it's really not much of a deal. Decided on sushi instead, and went to what was our favorite place locally, only to find a new owner and a new name - Sushi Mango. All we can say is..WOW. This is a large pro in my book. They provide great sushi at a great price. Food: Great. They make it right in front of you (it is a pretty small place). It is fresh and tasty. Love it. Service: Great. The staff is friendly and willing to accommodate your needs. I frequent a lot of sushi establishments and I can tell you that good service like this is not the norm. Stopped in for the first time tonight. Very happy we did! My gal and I are very serious sushi enthusiasts and we were extremely satisfied. We only eat the mainline stuff, no rolls. We immediately recognized the quality of the various filets being utilized for the following nigiri we ordered: maguro, hamachi, sake, and saba. We also ordered spicy scallop, spicy taco, baked mussels, and amaebi. We were very impressed by our sever named Naomi who was attentive, professional, courteous, and cool. Naomi also recommended the amaebi which was superb! Sushi Mango is our new favorite and we will be visiting often. We were rewarded after dinner with the most delicious mango mousse cake. Tasty sushi that is well made and reasonably priced. The service was pleasant and efficient when we were there, although we were one of only two tables eating there at 3:00pm on a monday afternoon. The restraunt itself is cute although was quite chilly. We tried the spicy tuna roll, shrimp tempura roll, and sweet potato roll all of which were solid. I had a Living Social voucher and waited until the last night to redeem it. Shame on me. The employees were very gracious about my procrastination. Sushi Mango is a smaller space that's a little on the cramped side, but I enjoyed the food, and service is friendly. I especially liked the miso soup and the mango roll. The miso soup was nice and hot and really flavorful, with lots of seaweed and tofu. The mango roll was a good combination of flavors. My boyfriend and I also tried the unagi roll, yellow tail roll, and spicy tuna roll, and all of them were good. The original wasabi portion that accompanied the rolls was pretty small, so we had to ask for more, and we received a very generous portion. It's not sushi night if your eyes aren't watering and nose isn't running! Sushi Mango is a bit of a trek for me, but seems to be very popular among people who live closer. read more

This is a typical strip mall sushi joint -- not a criticism by any means as there is always room for this kind of establishment in anyone's rotation. The general sushi rolls run about $3-6. The specialty rolls run about $10-16. The entrees run about $15 and up. Water is refilled in a timely manner. Service is attentive without being overbearing. I have been going to Sushi Mango for 4 + years now and have alway's really liked the food and service. On January 4th we went there for my husbands birthday. A few weeks later we received our bill and had been charged twice for the same meal. One was without the tip and the other with tip. I didn't think much about. I figured simple key in error they could fix. I took my statement to them and explained. They told me they would check into it and get back to me. He took a picture of my statement. On this statement were two charges to Perry's Steakhouse. However, those two charges were because one was a bar tab and the other our food tab. That day Chef Ray told me that he had refunded the one charge on my card without the tip. Great! That's what he should do. Well, the next day he sends me a text and tells me they have a record that only shows my credit card being charged once. He can prove it and sends me a picture of the charge. I contact my credit card company and they said, "We have already issued a refund so if he thinks he only charged you once, he can contact his bank and get proof and contact us." I explain this to him and starts telling me that I need to do what's right and he is going to charge my card again. He brings up the two charges to Perry's implying I go around to restaurants doing this? Wait! What? I told him all you have to do is contact my credit card company and if this is their error they will fix it. Maybe it was a language barrier. I don't know but, If he valued all the business I have given him, he would take the time to call the credit card company and get it figured out. I did nothing wrong here. So as far as the food goes. This place is in strip center and is very cute inside with cute bar and patio however thats where good stops - overpriced small portions and overall just not great food. They change the prices regularly and its so tacky. There sushi was just ok but once again expensive for what you got --their dinners are just not good, small portions for the ridiculous prices and just not a good flavor. Two stars for the sushi and the sushi chefs. I have no idea what was up with our waitress. She had zombie eyes and dragged her feet everywhere she walked...maybe she was part of the undead! However, sitting on the other side of the sushi bar from us and texting your friends will definitely get you points. (/sarcasm) Also, the udon is nothing to talk about either. You guys forgot the dashi! I would go for the sushi bar and sit up there. The waitstaff seemed lost and forgot a lot of stuff.
