S & S Roll, Out of this World Roll, Fire Dragon Roll

Very good sushi. Fast service (on a weekday). Not particularly friendly, but always polite. Our water glasses were kept filled. We ordered 3 specialty rolls plus shumai to start. Could've done with 2 rolls, they're very generous. Taste-wise, this is my favorite sushi place. But the ambiance is loud and busy. And don't expect to linger, they have no patience for that.

Came here for dinner with a friend on a Wednesday night and it was packed! We didn't have to wait too long to be seated though. The menu has a long list of options but I came prepared with knowing what to order beforehand! I was told to try the sushi roll with caviar (several types are included!) The miso soup was also a good choice to start with. Would love to come back and possibly eat outdoors, when it's not so hot out!

Sushi Mike's has the freshest sushi in all of Westchester. My cousin first introduced me to this restaurant almost 6 years ago, and I've been coming here and ordering ever since. The staff is extremely polite, and they don't hover over you but check in periodically to make sure everything is okay, so thumbs up for service. Ambiance is very chill. Definitely a great hangout spot for amazing sushi. Takeout is also great and the fish retains their freshness. I usually get the sushi deluxe set and order a few other pieces of nigiri a la carte. Their tamago and Ikura are some of my faves.

Avocado Roll and Sweet Potato Tempura Roll

I ordered delivery from here. For an appetizer, I got edamame. They were having a buy one, get one free deal so I got a second one for free. It was a perfect portion size and tasted good, but nothing too notable about it. Sometimes edamame is served with a heavy dose of salt on top but this didn't have much, which I appreciated. I also got avocado and sweet potato rolls. The sweet potato came with extra tempura on top which was a nice touch, though the fried dough could have been a little crunchier. The rolls were tasty. A good size, but not overly stuffed. I specifically chose this place because they have a side of spicy mayo on their menu. This is what takes vegetarian rolls from good to great and I didn't want to risk asking for it in the notes of my order and the restaurant forgetting to include it. Their spicy mayo had a stronger kick than most places so I really enjoyed it. However, they charged $3 for just a side of this sauce, which I felt was way too high. Other than that, I really enjoyed my meal!

After eating what little chicken and noodles came in the dish, this was what was left - all cabbage.

we've been customers for at least a decade if not longer. For the most part the food has been excellent...then sometimes just good...now NOT good. Some nights are ok some are amazing, the consistency isn't there and when you spend $160+ on takeout food for 2-3 people, it should be very good! Tonight was as new low, 80% of my dish was cabbage. There was barley any chicken, pea-pods or NOODLES. (Chicken Yaki Udon is a NOODLE dish). Also, trying to pick up an order has been increasingly difficult, a couple of times they didn't have our order. Other times we have been told a hour+ on a weekend night only to get a call 14 minutes later saying it was ready. Then they stopped calling to confirm online orders so we'd have to call because we had no idea if they received the order....We will not order here again.

Great Rolls, Quick Service. Out of The World Roll was so enjoyable that I didn't need much Soy or Wasabi . A truthful statement, they have a better Wasabi. They don't open until 3:30 so pay attention to hours!

Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Bread. If you know you know. Anyways. Out in Waikiki I learned to appreciate Poke. I once appreciated Pokemon. What's Politoed up to these days. Surprisingly, or unsurprisingly depending on your grasp of history, Poke is actually a Hawaiian dish. Japanese inspired, of course, but that's why the name of this spot is quite unique (although not catchy). Catch of the day. Rack of the day. So how'd I get here? You ask? ASK ME. Fine! I'll answer. And I just so happened to be running myself into the ground at the track in Irvington. Or was it that low-lying track in Hastings. The bees. The bumblebees. Maybe the hornets. It was Irvington. The bulldogs. Grrrrrr. I just ran myself into the ground. Sprints for about an hour. Bad hammy. Few months later tore the calf while calfmaxxing. Probably related. First muscle injury in a spinning dixie, gotta have muscles to injure them? Not really but that's what I'll tell myself. So I rip the farmers market. Then I rip the soosh spot, ordered online. Walked in, handsomely. Very friendly and respectful and nice staff and have been everytime I've gone since. The weight of the food in hand was ridonk so I was optimistic. I also got a few desserts down the road. Some hardbody that was completely eyeing down my grass-fed grass-finished hog at the track was somehow now across the street drinking a protein smoothie. For fixins I added cucumbers, edamame, masago, radishes, seaweed salad, sesame seeds, crispy onions, scallions, ginger and for 1$ extra avocado. I added classic shoyu which is basically just soy sauce. I wish they gave a better description for their sauces. My partner ordered the 2 protein bowl with brown rice, grilled chicken, shrimp, sweet corn and added eel sauce. Everything was so delicious and fresh. Vegetables had a nice crunch which lets me know just how fresh. Was a little disappointed in the amount of kani I got but was delicious nonetheless. Note the kani is shredded very thinly. For 16$ this bowl is a perfect little lunch.

That said, if you're craving raw fish it's convenient for a Piermont resident, affordable, easy to get a table, and takeout is always an option. A lot of the menu leans toward rolls drenched in heavy sauces which makes it hard to tell just how fresh the fish really is... or isn't. But if you order a sushi entrée, it does come with soup and salad. They also serve Nigori sake, not always a given at more middle-of-the-road sushi spots, so that's a definite plus if you like the milky stuff like I do. The broth was very salty and had a lot of soy sauce in it. I couldn't even finish it due to the overpowering taste of soy sauce. It made me gag. A few hours after eating the udon, I felt very nauseous and my stomach was hurting a lot. The miso soup is an acquired taste and very salty as well.
