Great sushi spot for takeout. The restaurant is very small and not much of a dine in experience. I ordered online via Doordash for pickup and my order was ready sooner than expected! My son and I were in search of a new sushi fix - many places are still take out only - Sushi Mio told us they needed 10 minutes to clean a table - so off we went. Appears to be a family run business, service was very friendly. A little slow, but there were 2 workers doing their best with several takeout orders going out. Appetizers were Agedashi Tofu and Tuna Muchi. The Agedashi was very pleasant (and a steal at the price), but I could make a meal of the Muchi - VERY good dish. So with all this quarantine stuff going on lately I haven't eaten out for about a month now so it was a nice change of pace when I ordered food from Sushi Mio for delivery. I ordered through Postmates and the food arrived in about thirty minutes so not a very long wait time. I ordered the fried rice, rainbow roll, and candy maki roll. The food was all around really good! The fried rice was very enjoyable although it was very plain with only carrots and onions I liked it a lot, definitely one of the better quality fried rices I've had in a while. The rainbow roll was great and so was the candy maki roll dinner which was very similar to the rainbow roll with the exception of spicy tuna in there with eel sauce (eel sauce was in a separate container that you get to put on the rolls). It makes me sad to write this review as we were excited to try this place out. We love trying new sushi places but this place let us down. We tried their sushi to go. The worker was nice and the food was ready in 15 minutes. Rolls are $13 to 15 on average which is a little more pricey but fair for quality sushi. We felt the ingredients sounded and looked great in combination and the presentation was lovely but the taste was off. Our sushi came with small sauce containers that confused us as we have never seen sushi come with anything else but soy sauce. We started eating our sushi and felt they all lacked flavor. After some investigating, we found out each roll came with certain sauces that were not on the sushi but put into these small containers. We eat sushi enough that we know what eel sauce and all these taste like so we were able to figure it out but I wish they had told us that they left the sauce off and which one to add which to (one required 2/3 sauces). It made a big difference in flavor to add the sauces but we were already half way through the meal when we added it. In addition to that, the fish tasted a little dry like it was older and the rice didn't taste fresh either. Overall, the experience was lackluster, especially for the price. I wonder if it was an off day but I read a few older similar reviews regarding the old taste. Disappointing. :/ read more

The steak was very tough and appeared to be flank/strip steak sliced very thinly, not tender ny strip. No teriyaki was used, we added some at home, and steak was in a bowl with some broth. It was not teriyaki steak dinner. Very disappointing birthday dinner. If we had dined in we would have returned it. We did not care for the taste of the miso soup, and we enjoy miso soup. Gyozo, spring rolls, tempura veg, fried rice were good. $83 (incl tax) for two people...high price for mediocre food. Will not return here. read more

The soup was oddly sweet and didn't seem like it was freshly prepared. The sushi and sashimi wasn't very good, with the sashimi being quite bland and watery and the sushi's nori being very tough. I am glad I decided to give them a try after two years of passing it by. My DH took me here for my bday luncheon and it was a very, very good. I enjoyed my tempura veggies with Miso and plain rove. The DH has a sushi platter. The fish and veggies were plenty and fresh. The miso was pipping hot. We enjoyed the good do much that we have had Sushi Mío three times this week. The service was very good and the restaurant though small, is cozy and clean. If I had to pick something out, the seaweed in the soup and on the wraps are a bit fishy. Which is weird. Having been to many of the Japanese restaurants in the area I found the experience here average for several reasons. First of all if you don't order a special off of the one page menu it's expensive. I ordered an atom bomb roll, which I'll picture, and water. The bill was almost $14. The value was not there for me. The roll tasted good but there was an anemic amount of tuna on the top. If the roll came out looking a little more substantial then maybe I'd understand. I also felt the seating was a but uncomfortable. Staff was nice but rushed. Microwave was in use a good amount which concerned me...again considering the price. I'd recommend going to Ming Sushi Kitchen not to far up the road. This is my 4th time eating here. Those who have read my reviews know that excellent customer service, environment, and food quality are variables of an amazing experience for my wife and I. Sushi Mio has all that and more. Don't expect a plush interior. But, what you can expect is a very clean environment, amazing personalized service, fresh and predictably good food. I would go as far as to say this spot has the best Sashimi and Japanese food in town, especially for the price. Tonight they close at 9:30. We got here at 9:22. They gladly seated us without making us "feel bad" and delivered the same quality food and service we have become accustomed to. This is our 3rd time here. I'm so bummed. Decided to check this place out because of the good reviews. I had decided to get a Groupon for this place given what fellow Yelpers have said. I took my coworker to lunch today. We both decided on a lunch special which included either soup or salad with different rolls and or nigiri/sashimi. I opted for the $10.95 special, which had a four piece volcano roll with six pieces of sashimi and 3 pieces of nigiri. I don't know what was up with the wasabi, but it was very odd tasting and not spicy at all. The volcano roll didn't cut it for me, again had an odd taste about it. The other fish were decently fresh, but I've had better. I always get a side of spicy mayo with my sushi, and here they charge $.50 for a side of mayo. That to me is an automatic turnoff. I get it's not free but it's a side of sauce. I don't use any soy so it probably evens out. I don't know, it just rubbed me the wrong way. And then to top it off, she said I couldn't use my Groupon which says it cannot be used for happy hour specials or other promotions. Apparently the lunch special is included in that. So now I'm stuck with a Groupon I am not sure I'll use because I'd rather not come back here. read more

Small restaurant on Medlock Bridge Road in Johns Creek. We came here for the tempura fried ice creme that our daughter loves. There are very few Japanese restaurants that serve the tempura ice creme these days and I wonder why. Last time we ate it at Enzo Sushi( in the Petsmart shopping complex on 141) and this time they stopped making it. After inquiring some other places we reached here. Since we were already in a Japanese Sushi restaurant, I wished to try their sushi along with the tempura ice creme and I was really impressed. Their sushi was fresh, nice and tasty. I ordered the spicy creamy tuna and it was soft, crunchy from within and delicious. Kids liked the tempura ice cream as well. The place is small but well kept and clean. The owners are nice people and their service is good. We did not see a lot of people in the restaurant, but there were take-outs frequently, so seems like this place is popular around here for take-outs. The steak was chewy and inedible and smothered in way too much, way too sweet sauce. The restaurant needs some work to fix up the torn seats makes it look more like a fast food place. Sashimi seems to be the same grade and quality you get at H-mart, the tempura was slightly on the oily side and soggy when I got it from takeout. Miso soup was kinda bland. The edamame came out quick and was piping hot and salty. Just the way it should be. The cokes were given to us in cans with a glass of ice and a couple of straws with the paper on the tip of the straw. Then the rolls came out. The Candy Maki was by far our favorite.
