We opted for the regular dinner AYCE, and were given a QR code which we used to place our orders. Just went for a to go order. The place is new and clean. Probably just a couple of weeks old. They took over the old Korean resto located in the strip mall with the banh mi place and 85 degrees. Once I got in there, the staff was welcoming and very attentive/ kind. I got my order and it was pretty good. Rice to seafood ratio was phenomenal just as it should be for rolls. In anycase, i got a couple of rolls and they were okay... pretty good for what it is. I looked at their menu as well for future reference .... The staff is maybe the friendliest staff of any restaurant I've been to in a long time. You have to try the One Spot roll-- it's the name of the restaurant after all! Three kinds of fish wrapped in rice paper with just enough of a tangy sauce on the plate to make it exciting. We have an avocado allergy in our family so no avocado on top, but honestly I don't think it needed it. The fish is so soft and fresh. The Golden Orange roll gives you several flavor experiences with creamy salmon and the thinnest, most perfect slice of lemon on top. The caterpillar roll is the standard roll, except seemingly fresher here than elsewhere. The Angry Eel roll was crunchy and had just the right mix of fried and fresh ingredients. The last time we went though was on a Saturday so it was $32.99. We made sure to order items that weren't on the Tasting Menu since we were paying extra, like the soft shell crab and the carpaccio (only one each per person) and about five different kinds of Nigiri Sushi. I love that you only get 4 pcs of the rolls so you can try as many as you like. My favorite is the Nichelle (a no-rice roll) and of course the Rainbow roll. They also have smaller rolls with fewer pieces so you can try more of the menu. This was, without a doubt, the worst sushi I've ever had. The salmon didn't taste like salmon at all--it was completely bland and flavorless, which made the sushi very disappointing. Almost every roll was made with imitation crab instead of real seafood, and the rolls themselves were poorly prepared. They kept falling apart, with the ingredients spilling out as soon as I picked them up. The restaurant was also extremely loud, making it hard to enjoy the meal. Even the mussels were covered in what tasted like an excessive amount of mayonnaise. I'm used to baked mussels being served with a creamy sauce, but this was overwhelmingly heavy and completely overpowered the seafood instead of complementing it. I've eaten sushi at many restaurants across Southern California, and I've never had such a disappointing experience. I actually felt nauseous after eating here. If you're looking for a great and affordable AYCE sushi place, look no further. I remember going to this place about 9 years ago, but I can't remember if they were in a different location. They kept the same name, which is great! Out of all AYCE sushi places (and I've been to a couple), I think this place is like then perfect spot. The food is fresh, and they are a number of delicious variety of nigiri, rolls, gunkan, etc. Their cajun salmon is my personal favorite because they don't add a lot of rice and the seared flavor of the salmon is on point. Then I'd say the Jen Jen (if that's what they call it because I don't remember the name) is the second best. It's basically a salmon flower roll which is made up of imitation crab meat inside with some salmon roe inside and fresh salmon wrapped up around it. I mean it's really good! The place is also nice because it's spaced out. Also, the servers, manager, and owner were great! They are very friendly and they even treated is with extra food items that weren't even part of the deal! I mean overall it's 11/10 on everything.
