Well. Overall a great experience. The staff was kind. The sushi chef was obviously a pro. The vibe inside was relaxing. It was quiet. Were there at 4:30 on a Monday and it was chill. The clear soup was mid and the gyoza was mid+ also, but the rolls were awesome! The pink lady was my favorite. TNT 2nd and the fire corner roll 3rd but a close 3rd. An overall great dinner and very well priced ! And bonus - right across the street from the hotel. They got Saki & beer & wine also.

For lunch, a coworker and I stopped in as it's near the office. We were quickly seated as a walk in, and the staff was friendly. I was excited for teriyaki tofu as it's usually fried or sautéed to have a nice crunch, but they served with just sauce on top. I like tofu, but it definitely left me not wanting tofu for weeks. Overall, the location is small and we were not impressed with the food.

Just try it! When I say I've had sushi hundreds of times I'm not joking, and though this place isn't your hole in the wall or your fancy dining sushi restaurant it's the middle ground of YES IM COMING BACK! I was so pleasantly surprised by the entire experience! It's small and quite and for some reason always seems likes no one is in here but the take out is ALWAYS busy! The 2 servers seem to always be there and they are great, genuinely my favorite sushi place I've been too in JAX area! It's simple, but they have a variety of rolls! The Christmas Roll is probably our favorite but they're a great selection for everyone! The soup here is also so flavorful and such a great palate builder! Amazing here! The only negative I have is they are closed on Sundays, but I'm happy they do that for themselves but I seem to want Sushi Q Every Sunday !! Definitely worth checking out ! I love it

I often stop by here for lunch; they have great hot lunch specials. I always order the Godzilla or Dynamite hot rolls, along with the Clear Soup. Sometimes I drop in to try something new. I don't eat sushi made with raw fish, but I definitely recommend their other dishes. Stop by for lunch--for just $15, you get a lot of food!

I stopped in because I was in the area and what a happy accident! The service was fabulous and my waitress suggested some great options. The sushi was fresh and had a wide selection. I liked the booth where I sat and the lighting was calming. This place is great for date night or for lounging and enjoying sake.

I have found my new favorite sushi spot in Jacksonville! The beauty ocean roll was SO tasty and fresh, this was my first time with seaweed salad on a roll and I will never look back. The spicy escolar was good, just plain and I personally enjoy rolls with more things in them. The krab wontons were tasty and fried to perfection. I was in and out quickly and efficiently. Not to mention, this place was very affordable and had a big menu. I will be coming back here again and again!

I ordered Sushi Q for delivery, so I can't comment on the service. Although, I did try a few different foods. I was excited since the town center doesn't have many sushi options, but I probably won't be returning here. My order was well packed and included utensils and sides of soy sauce and shrimp sauce. I got an avocado cucumber roll and a tofu roll. The tofu roll was made with silken tofu, so it was very mushy and unpleasant. The avocado cucumber roll was pretty standard. The sushi wasn't very well made so it fell apart while eating with chopsticks. The side of fried rice and side of noodles were good, but needed a little extra flavor in my opinion. Make sure to specify no egg if you order the fried rice if you're vegan or allergic. The Krab rangoons were the best thing I got. A good amount of filling, very tasty, and the dipping sauce was great. Overall, I wouldn't go here again for sushi. (Which is disappointing since the name is literally Sushi Q) but I can imagine their hibachi might be worth it if you're in the area and need something quick.

A great spot for some quick and casual sushi! The prices are decent, especially the lunch specials, and the quality of food is pretty good too! The clear soup, while on the saltier side, was tasty. The ginger salad was very crisp and fresh. And the dynamite roll, advertised as spicy, while delicious and perfectly crispy, was not spicy at all. The servings sizes were especially good for their price and I can see myself coming again to try the other menu options!

Delicious sushi in Jax! I came here for the first time for lunch with a friend and ordered their 3 roll lunch special. It was $12.95 and came with soup and a salad. Service was quick and great, not too crowded for lunch on a weekday and delicious! Will be back.

I was near town center and feeling a famished with all the shopping till I came across this jewel. Very quiet and solitude type of restaurant. I feel like you can come here and eat alone and no one will judge you. The service was very quick and I like their takoyaki. Good price and a decent meal if you are craving sushi! This was my first time visiting here, and it was nice to come to a new sushi restaurant that had great service and food. It was reasonably priced, and the service was fast and friendly. I ordered the miso soup and the tuna tartare roll from the Deep Fried section of the menu. The miso soup came out hot, which I have not experienced before, and it had plenty of flavor in it. The tuna tartare roll was plenty enough for one person, and it filled me up with 8 pieces, all equally and largely cut up. There were quite a few people that came in while I was sitting down, and there were a few take out orders as well, which was good to know in case I ever want to take sushi home instead of eating in. The wait time didn't seem to be too bad, especially if you called ahead. I would come back for more and suggest this to my other sushi loving friends. read more

Food is good and tasted fresh. There is nothing fancy; the rolls are all very similar- no "special" rolls with combo of flavors to make it pop out. I see what others are saying about the staff not being overly friendly or asking after the meal arrives. Took a while to get someone to give us a bill or ToGo box. Service was quick though for a lunch spot. So if you want a quick tasty meal go here. read more

I've tried all over jax to find good sushi with a good atmosphere and i have my one or two but MAN!!! this place blows them out the water! went on a saturday evening and easy going atmosphere. lots of cool lights without looking tacky and the food! the food is great! now if you read this and expect to get the best sushi on the face of the planet where your taste buds explode don't expect that but if i was to rate this on a scale compared to sushi restaurants in America i'd give it a 10/10 keep it up read more

Always great ambiance with a contemporary feel--a small quaint little spot with consistently great food in close proximity to Town center but distant enough to not fight with all the traffic; Fast & great service, not once have I been disappointed & never do I recall having a wait to be seated?! They're Lunch specials are outstanding for the amount of food you receive for the price....and ultimately My rant about Sushi Q just doesn't do it the justice it's due. Playing hooky and got hungry for lunch. My son and I stopped in while we were out the the Town Center. Nice quite spot with a few other guests inside. We got the 3 Roll Lunch Special for $11.50 each. Comes with a bowl of clear soup. Staff is nice and quick to bring out lunch. Lots of people coming in for take out. The sushi is fresh and very filling for the price. It was hot out and this place is definitely a great place to cool off. Not too bright at all and no Florida sun beaming down thru the windows. Music not too loud. Clean restrooms as well. read more

Wow! I'm out spending time with my eldest son and we decided to try a new sushi place that has 4.5 stars. WORST WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Soon as we walked in a young man greeted us and said what do you want to drink, we never received a drink menu nothing. As we sit down he just act like we were doing him a favor and was extremely rude. So me and my son decided to walk out. Never to return!! The place is called SUSHI Q at the TOWNE CENTER. I'm so over it all. The only reason I gave it one star because the place looked inviting when we walked in. I wish I could move on island with peace and harmony. read more

I have finally found my favorite sushi spot in Jax!! All of it was absolutely delicious and fresh! Large pieces and pretty filled ingredients! My family owned a award winning Japanese restaurant for over 20 years before retiring out of it and I can say this is closest I have gotten to being that quality and omg the PRICE for the quality is shocking! Sushi Q is the regular Jacksonville sushi restaurant. The service was subpar and the food was more on the bad side. The host/waiter seemed to be in a rush. He was nice Jaír seems like he wanted us out of the restaurant. If you're looking for a quick bite and don't mind the quality of your sushi, I'd say you found the right spot! read more

We ordered several rolls to share as follows: The cucumber maki, Black Dragon, BMW, Cherry Blossom, Rainbow, oshinko, mixed veggie, sunset, and eel avocado. All were enjoyed by everybody. I'll definitely be back. The sushi was very fresh and more people means you can try more rolls. Instead of just a few. Next time I may try the hibachi. Or just get sushi again. read more

The service is terrible, this is the second time we had the same server, and he must be related to the owners because he should not be working here or anywhere else where he has to interact with people. When you order from him it's like you're making him angry. The food who was fair, at best. Nobody checked to ask us how things were, and I had to basically beg to get the check. I would seriously recommend avoiding this restaurant. We will not be back. read more

Quick service and yummy food!! Two rolls for 8.00 lunch special. I ordered the Shrimp Tempura and Sweet Potato rolls. They were both made to order, however, the sweet potato roll had cream cheese, which I've never had together. The inside is cozy and small, but the service was friendly. I'll definitely come back, maybe not for the sweet potato roll. read more

This sushi restaurant is located next to my workplace so I visit weekly. The staff are friendly and their lunch selection has good variety. I can honestly say their shrimp tempura is the best I've had here in JAX. It is battered dipped (not panko) and they serve it with ten-tsuyu like it should be. Worst server I've experienced. Young Asian guy. I've never walked out of a restaurant but this guy instantly pissed me off with his attitude. I had to ask where can I sit, then with an attitude he says "what you wanna drink" I'm too annoyed to finish this review. Service was trash. I guess this place don't like money. Wow, this place is a joke unless we just had the worst waitresses ever. I was just there 3 minutes ago to celebrate an award I received today, and the waitresses was so rude. Tonight myself, and 4 co-workers went to Sushi Q's restaurant at 5010 Gate Pkwy in Jacksonville's Southside for dinner. It wasn't our 1st time going there, we've actually been there numerous times because the food has always been pretty good. However I have always sort of disliked going because the one young Asian guy that always seats and waits on everyone has a really bad attitude. I go because my co-workers like eating there, even though they feel the same way about the server, so we've always tolerated him. Well, tonight there were five of us and three of us are pretty big guys. When we walked in that same server walked up watching us walk in, I said that there were five of us and he totally ignored me, wouldn't even look at me. I told him two more times there were five of us and he continued to ignore and not even acknowledge that I was there. He started walking to a booth and I asked him if we could have a table (like I said three of us are pretty big), he pointed to the booth again and I said "we can't sit at a table" and he said "NO". There was only one other booth occupied in the whole restaurant, there was absolutely no reason a table wouldn't have been available, they were all empty, and all in the same seating area. Like I said, every time we go this guy is rude. We all turned around and walked out saying we will never go back. Like I said, the food is ok but the service is the worst, this server must obviously be the owner's son or something because I'm sure he's cost the restaurant customers. I wouldn't recommend giving them your money because they surely don't appreciate their customers. read more

The fish tasted fresh and mostly everything was really good. My favorites were the drama queen roll, the blood orange akami, and the truffle unagi roll. I wouldn't get the truffle enoki mushrooms again- the texture was off (chewy/stringy). The cocktail I got was the nori margarita and didn't feel it was anything special. The glass and straw it was served in was kind of throwing it off for me. I'd go a different drink route next time. I liked the vibe of the restaurant and felt like the ambience was great for date night. It had a sexy feel. I wish there was music or if there was I didn't notice it, because I could hear everything the table next to me was saying. They also brought a refreshing treat for my husband's birthday. We'd be open to coming back.

The yakisoba instantly took me back to Little Tokyo in Los Angeles...it had that authentic flavor that's surprisingly hard to find. The prices are also very low for the amount of food you receive - $37 buys 10oz of filet mignon (which is already a better price than a lot of steakhouses) but that then also comes with a huge quantity of rice, noodles, and vegetables, as well as a salad and a soup. We ate our fill and then also had like a week's worth of leftovers. It's certainly not somewhere we can afford to come super often, but it's an excellent deal for what you receive. One thing to keep in mind though is it's really cold in there, presumably so that working with the hibachi all day can be tolerable. Since customers don't stand over the hot grill the whole time you should bring a sweater.

It was as advertised - spicy. Too spicy IMO. The rolls being so large made it difficult to use chopsticks, so we used fingers! We needed more napkins and I got some on the way to the restroom to wash my hands. The bill was very reasonable. All in all, we will try another sushi restaurant next time.

Fantastic hospitality. We got into town late, Sushi Q is across from our hotel so we figured we'd give it a try. When we pulled up at 9:50, the darkened windows gave us the expectation they were closed, but the open sign was on. We opened the door the staff was obviously preparing for closing, but welcomed us warmly. Our party of 5 was seated and graciously welcomed with warm bowls of soup, that were delicious. Ten minutes before closing, limiting the menu options would have been more than understandable, but nothing was 86'd. We ordered a couple pink ladies, a couple shrimp tempura rolls, tuna sashimi, General Tso chicken and chicken Lomein. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted fabulous. Sushi Q was a magnificent end to a long week and a terrific start to a tournament weekend. We will be returning... possibly today. read more

I have never been here and wanted to check out a new sushi place in the area. I saw this had some good reviews and good pricing so I ordered for pickup/takeout. I went in to pickup and the restaurant was so so clean and new. The employee who grabbed my sushi for me gave me extra spicy Mayo and reminded me I already tipped when I accidentally tipped again, so I appreciate the honesty!!!
