I know some reviews says hole in the wall and when I came in it definitely gave me a vibe of good expectations from it. There was a good amount of people for lunch which made me excited. First off i wasnt sure if I can grab drink from the fridge since there wasnt drink on the menu... when I asked the server she said ok to. me but looked like she was stopping me when I started grabbing some... so definitely confused and had a hard time communicating with her. (Languange barrier) We ordered Alaska, calvin and dancing shrimp roll. I also got a chicken donburi. Rolls- they all taste ok... for us personally the rice was on the thick side and flavorless... (no hint of vinegar whatsoever) Nothing really jumps out to you that makes you go mmhmmm. lol -Dancing shrimp had lots of cream cheese that it overpowered everything.. dont get me wrong I love my cream cheese but that's all we can taste in it. -Alaska needed some sort of sauce like maybe eel sauce or something. It was a flat taste. taste. -Calvin roll couldnt really taste anything in it. Rice was so much on that one that it blands out everything.... Ok now the donburi was one of the most wet ones I've had and not in a good way... I know they are not meant to be dry but I usually have that kinda sticky somewhat thicker delicious sauce on good quality sushi rice anywhere I've been. This has to be one of the worst texture and worst flavored ones I had. The broth was too bland and watered down.. the rice was also not good.. the chicken had breading falling off. Felt like I was eating dog food that i couldnt even eat half of it and had to share it with my husband and cousin to see if either I'm crazy or right. (Trying to finish it to not waste money but I ended up just taking it home for my dog) Hubby didnt like it either and called it a waste of money.. my cousin is a bit nicer and said it's ok but she wont order it personally. Overall it was a lunch that got my husband full but not happy with the taste of everything while I ended up losing my appetite. Best part for me was the lilikoi Hawaiian sun drink lol... Hubby said best part for him was the quick service. we ended up spending $53 including 1 drink before tip. Honestly for the price there are so much other japanese restaurants in OAHU that are either the same price or a $1-5 more expensive per roll that would taste SO MUCH BETTER. I'd rather spend more $ for quality. We definitely wont be coming back. P.s. no bathroom there. read more

If you're in Aiea and you're craving for sushi, sushi spot is the place to go! Their hours are from 11am-3pm & 5pm-9pm. Today we tried the stuffed mushrooms, spicy ahi tempura, baked muscle, and Calvin's choice. Upon ordering, you get a bowl of complementary miso soup. Big thumbs up for me because I love miso soup. Another thing I loved was the size of their stuffed mushrooms! Not only was the size good for me, it was also juicy! The spicy ahi and Calvin's choice were also tasty! One order of baked muscle came with 4pcs, so if baked muscle is your thing, I recommend you do two orders. After eating, we were sooo full we didn't get a chance to try their deserts :-( but it's okay, this gives us an excuse to come back even sooner! Other than that, the ladies that worked today were really sweet & accommodating. This place is REAAAAALLLLY small and can get busy/crowded (especially when big groups come in) so there might be a wait. But it's worth it! read more

Hate to be the rotten apple of the reviews, but I came to this restaurant because it had great reviews.. The sushi here wasn't anything out of the ordinary. I had the Ahi lover which came with: Ahi slices, sashim, and ahi roll (seaweed wrapped over Ahi and rice). The Ahi was not the great of quality. It had white pieces inside making it kind of stringy or as if it were tendons.. It wasn't the kind that melted in your mouth. Hello! Back again to review this place because I just ordered for take out again tonight 01/12/23 and this time I brought my boyfriend with me for him to try. I called ahead and it was a very friendly lady that had answered the phone. She mentioned it was gonna be 40 mins, which was no problem for us since we were in no rush. We get to the restaurant 40 mins later and paid for the order, but it was gonna be another 10 mins which we were fine with. A kind lady that worked there brought our take out order to us and even included a free canned drink, which was very kind of them, since we had to wait a little bit longer for our food because we ordered 4 different rolls. We ordered a caterpillar roll, dragonfly roll, rainbow roll #2, and 007 roll. Overall, amazing and delicious quality sushi yet again. Delicious, quality food at an affordable price! I've dined in a few times & ordered take-out many times, and the customer service has always been amazing. The lady who answers the phone and gives you your order is so sweet. She's always happy & kind, even when the place is very busy. There have been a few times when my food took longer than expected and she gave me some free beverages to compensate (which I didn't even need to be, but I appreciated it). I've tried so many of the rolls that I can't remember them all. I can tell you that I've never had a roll I didn't like! My absolute favorite is the Stuffed Jalapeño (I know it's not exactly a roll, but whatever). I didn't know what I wanted to eat after my doctor's appointment across the street. Luckily I can always rely on my trusty Yelp app to help me figure it out. I was lured here by all the good reviews on Yelp. I ordered 1 Calvin's Choice Roll. They had 4 tables for dine in, but the place was very warm. I think their airconditioner might have been broken when I came in. I didn't have time to eat there anyway so I ordered my food to-go. I was pleasantly surprised that the roll came with free miso soup. It wasn't filled to the top, but I still appreciated it, especially since the roll was pretty cheap to begin with. I can't remember exactly how much I paid for it. I think it was around $12 dollars. The roll was a decent size and I was definitely full by the time I finished my meal. I just wish my roll came with more crab meat and less rice. The rice portion was definitely big and it took away from the taste of the crab meat and shrimp tempura. I placed my order inside the restaurant and it did not take long to get my order even though there was only one man preparing the food and one woman taking orders/ringing up customers/answering the phone/and bussing the tables. The two employees, possibly husband and wife owners, were very friendly. If I was basing my review on the roll alone, I would have given them 3 solid stars. However, based on the service, the size of the roll and the free soup, I bumped them up to 4 stars. I can't wait to come back and try their other items. read more

Shortly after we were given our waters and miso soup. Yes we get miso soup for free. The menus weren't to complicated. There was a lot to choose from but we decided to get the Lion King, Spicy Ahi Tempura, and stuffed mushrooms. About 10 minutes after ordering we got all three orders and the serving size is ALOT.
