Still my go to AYCE sushi in Fairfield, but unfortunately the quantity of Fish to Rice is really dependent on the sushi chef. But if you let the waitstaff know they are quick to address any issues. Overall presentation was a little less appealing too. Food flavor was still at the same level and tasted fresh. Will be returning.

The food came quick and we pretty good for all you can eat. The servers were extremely nice and thoughtful. The check on us regularly and filled our drinks. The restaurant is nice. Not to bright inside with just the right amount of lighting. I would come back.

The food was decent but unremarkable. Japanese food lovers with a good appetite will find the value reasonable. The atmosphere was pleasant -- tables were well-spaced and the music was lively yet conversational. The three stars come down to service. Staff were friendly but inattentive -- after the initial order, they rarely checked back, and we had to flag someone down most of the time. Despite the restaurant being quiet, we were left waiting up to 10 minutes on a couple of occasions with no staff and no food in sight. Food arrived promptly when an order got through, but the inconsistent service dampened the overall experience.

By far, one of my favorite AYCE sushi in the area. I am a regular customer along with my family (there's 14 of us). The staff is really friendly and accommodating and when there's a large group of us. We usually come here for a special event like birthdays, and it never disappoints. The service is quick and the food arrives fast. The restaurant is elevated and very clean. These are all great things especially when the food whole family is hungry!

A friend and I were looking for late night sushi on a Wednesday night and we saw that ST is open til 10p. Parking lot is well lit, and even stylish with vertical light bars. Due to our timing, there was plenty of parking available. Upon entry, we were greeted and advised that although AYCE ordering would close in 30mins, we could still choose to have that dining option if we desired. We were just looking to have a small order so we opted for a la carte. We had the Lion King, a Tempura Roll, a Tuna roll, and miso soup. Everything was delicious and arrived quickly. We enjoyed it very much and decided we have to come back at an earlier time to take advantage of the AYCE menu. Which is pretty extensive for the price! Side note, for some reason I really really loved their ginger! Not a lot of people like the powerful taste of ginger but for all the ginger fans, I just have to say you're in for a treat! The taste was so powerful, fresh, and clean! I felt so refreshed with every little sliver. We ate all our dishes but I kept sampling the ginger. The ginger was so amazing I had to ask if I could have some to take home, and to my Joy, they were happy to oblige. It was so good, that it literally put other sushi ginger to shame. Not to be too gross, but I actually had sushi again at another place a couple days later, and their ginger tasted like wet socks in comparison. Anyway, I was not expecting to be wowed by a condiment, but for all the Ginger lovers, Sushi Tsunami is a 10 out of 10! With tax and tip, it was about $50 for the 2 of us. Open late, tastes great, good pricing, awesome service, and a pretty and modern restaurant. All High marks!

It was my first time here and the service was amazing! Everyone was so nice and kind and the ambiance inside was clean, sleek, and modern. The fish on the nigiri was really fresh but the rice was kind of dry, and not much vinegary like how usual nigiri is which kind of threw off the overall taste when eating it together. The takoyaki was my favorite appetizer :)

We went for the all you can eat. First of all, the service was excellent and plentiful! Thank you for that. The servers came around to take orders and refill items quite often. We appreciated this. The mixed tempura looked great. When I bit into it it was not crisp. It was greasy :( This made me feel sad because I was really looking forward to it. I tried the California roll, which was just okay. My stomach felt queasy after eating it. I tried the Dragon roll and that same feeling happened to my stomach so I quit trying to eat. I drank the lemonade instead. In other news, the decor of the restaurant was very nice.

This hidden gem in Fairfield has some of the freshest sushi I've ever had! Their all-you-can-eat deal makes your dining experience worth it. The menu has a ton of variety from appetizers, one of my favorites being corn cheese! The space is quaint and clean. The employees are very friendly. Our food came out quickly after ordering every time. Highly recommend this spot if you're craving sushi. They also have a location in Concord.

I came to Sushi Tsunami with a party of 7 at 6pm on a Thursday, and we were seated promptly. It's pretty dim inside, and a little cramped but clean overall. We opted for the all you can eat menu that included some of the more premium options. Services was nice, and we were able to find someone to place an order whenever we were looking, and food came out at a reasonable pace. While the quality of the fish was decent, the proportion of fish to rice was pretty skewed - the fish was either a reasonable portion or sliced pretty thin/small, and almost all of the pieces of sushi had too much rice. The rice itself wasn't the best quality, and because it was a little mushy it really quickly got to be too heavy and filling. I definitely recommend the nigiri over the rolls, and enjoyed the salmon, salmon belly, and yellowtail the most. The 49ers roll was pretty good, but the others I would probably skip. The inari filled with poke weren't bad either, but had a large amount of rice and was a little too heavily seasoned for my taste. If you like having a bunch of variety of non sushi items for AYCE sushi, this might be a good option for you, as they had plenty of other dishes that were decent - corn cheese, edamame, takoyaki, wings, bulgogi fries, etc. Overall, for the price I wouldn't say this AYCE experience is worth it for me. It was nice to try once but I cant say I'd recommend coming here.

My husband and I went here on a Friday night. There was a waiting list, so we didn't wait that long. We noticed that the sushi seems to contain more rice. It made us very full early. The sushi chefs also changed. We couldn't finish the last roll so we were charged extra (not a big deal because we were able to take it home). Service was also slow. It took time to wave someone down for the check. Not sure if I would return if the sushi doesn't change. Too much rice, very little meat. See pictures.

This is my second time going here and it improved from the first visit lol. Inside is well kept and nice. But parking might be a struggle during dinner hours Maybe because we went lunch time. 3 stars because they changed the menu from the last time we went here. Also, it was already slow during lunch time my food was kinda taking long. Also, the tuna nigiri tastes old :( I would still go here for a quick lil sushi fix

I went with some friends on Valentine's Day and we were fine waiting but what wasn't fine was how the host couldn't properly sit people. There were a lot of empty tables at one point and they kept seating parties of 2 at tables meant for 4 people when there were two open tables that seated parties of 2 empty for most of the time we were waiting. When my friend finally complained about the seating issues we were seated right away and aside from Amari none of the other waiters came to our table to take our orders even after Amari asked if they had. I understand a holiday is going to be busy but they were all running around like they didn't know how to handle a busy night, when it was slow the other time I went everything was great. Food as usual was delicious but to that male server with the glasses he needs to do better cause it seemed like after we were seated he told everyone else to avoid our table. There was no reason why all the servers could walk around taking orders and always skipped our table except for the one server.

    Seriously?

I wanted to do the original since if it was saucy it might lose the crunch along the way over. The biimbap was pretty good. I liked the sesame of the veggies and mix of ingredients. I'd want more of the mushrooms and greens though for the price of things. The tofu also were lightly fried with a thin starch on the outside which didn't travel well honestly. The chicken held up well though, still being crunchy. The seasoning was nice with bits of herbs shredded over it. In light of this, getting a sauce or flavor to dip things in would've been great though I don't remember if it was an option when I was originally ordering. The banchan was in a packed and worked well enough for the meal. Flavors still worked out well for the food, I'd be interested to see what the rest of the menu tastes like.

We did the AYCE and I definitely got my money's worth. The service was courteous and prompt. The ambiance was typical for a K-BBQ spot- the open floor plan makes for a slightly louder place, but at least the music was not blasting so loudly that conversation was hindered. The menu has meat and other dishes that can be ordered a la carte, if all you can eat is not your thing. (Or if you don't want to have to grill your own meat.) We ordered: -Pork belly (regular, thin sliced, and soy garlic. All great, but the thin sliced has always been my favorite). -Marinated beef (tasty). -LA ribs (well marinated and not too salty). -Bulgogi and the Hawaiian bulgogi (the Hawaiian was good and I like the pineapple chunks to grill,, but preferred the regular because it was less sweet). -Shrimp (head and shell on, be prepared to peel and de-vein after grilling). -Marinated baby octopus (one of my son's favorite things he had there). Some highlights that will bring me back: -Sliced pickled radish to wrap the meat for a low carb option. -Glutinous rice paper to wrap the meat (nice and chewy texture, great touch to the marinated meat). -ALL of the banchan was spot on. Zingy kimchi, firm broccoli, not too sweet fishcakes, and seasoned bean sprouts were among our faves. -Last but not least, the crispy chicken wings. Crispy like Korean fried chicken should be with delicious sauces (we tried the sweet and spicy, and the soy garlic). Worth it to come back just for that. We will definitely be going back soon!
