Sushi restaurant that seems to have a menu of Korean small plates and soju. Sushi Tsunami also offers AYCE sushi. I got a cheese corn to start myself off. Tasted like streetfood, which was exactly what I was expecting. Next came the uzuru nigiri. I've never seen quail egg nigiri, so I had to try it! I got some specialty rolls like the Anaconda roll. Delicious, and the portion was fair relative to the cost. The interior of the restaurant was beautiful. Looked like the interior was recently redone. A lot of waitresses switched between speaking Korean and Japanese. Parking is easy to find. I'm shocked that a restaurant could have such a huge lot for itself. read more

This new ayce sushi place is sooooooo good & if you're not feeling ayce they also have the option to pay per dish & prices are also listed on the same menu. The ambience has a friendly and intimate atmosphere so perfect for bringing friend of family to this place for special occasions. Me and my friends when on a Friday night and it was packed to celebrate. The staff was friendly and gave us a quick rundown how the ayce works. There's a massive selection of dishes on the ayce menu. Me and my friends got course B which includes sashimi & I highly recommended getting the ayce Course B because the various sashimis is worth it. Our favorite was the salmon sashimi & the spicy scallops. The fish is super fresh and the flavors were really worth it for the price. Other dishes that we tried were the potato croquettes which was nice a crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. Corn cheese, served on a hot plate with cheese & mayo on it. It was creamy and the corn was delicious. Lambada, a good roll of you like salmon, tuna & avocado. Will be definitely coming back again to try more dishes. read more

This spot has so much potential but for the time being, it's a hard miss. I know y'all probably saw the foodie influencers raving about this spot, but I'm going to tell you now, the menu/experience they got is NOT going to match what you're going to get. We had no wait time to be seated but the wait time to eat? A whole different story. My group of 3 couldn't even get a waiter to take our order. 20 min later WE had to flag someone down and the server told us we weren't in the system. Well.... you do still see people seated a table right? Weird. The menu is large. Don't expect your server to be able to tell you what things are. The original server we had didn't have the best service, and was not attentive at all. We ended up asking a different server to help us and she was way more friendly and efficient with putting our orders in. They were pretty backed up so at some points, we were only able to order "kitchen items" as the sushi bar had too much of a wait. My group was pretty out spoken so we were able to get our orders in, but I saw many customers at other tables who were waiting to be helped. One couple literally got 2 things in the whole hour they were there :( Not a good date night. We ordered quite a few things to try. The sushi rolls did not match their descriptions at all. TBH, either the cooks do not know what the rolls are, or they're intentionally modifying ingredients at their own discretion. Either way, the sushi rolls were neither great tasting or aesthetically pleasing. I saw pics from other yelpers for the Sunset or Sunrise app with quail egg, but none of our orders included this. We asked the manager and he said they won't be making it with the quail egg anymore.. so it's not really a sunrise or sunset is it? haha We ordered menu C, which is the premium level, and they didn't even give us the correct amount of toro sashimi. It's only one order per customer so we wanted to make sure we each got a piece, but they jipped us and gave us 2 pieces only for 3 of us. We asked for the toro about 10 times and it finally came at the very end of our meal. Mind you, the end of our meal was 2.5 hrs later lol They typically have a 90 min limit but they told everyone they would not be enforcing it that night. IDK if that is still the case. Also, they DO charge for kids so make sure you look at an updated menu. I believe it's changed several times since opening. I'm not sure if what we received would really be considered premium, minus the one piece of toro and uni. Personally, they did a good job marketing because on video, the food looks amazing. I can tell you firsthand, the experience we had was nothing like what we saw on IG. The inside is cute, the dishware was really nice but a little too heavy for the servers to easily put down and pick up. There are no windows and the inside is pretty dark. There's a small parking lot but enough for patrons dining in. I love the idea of a premium AYCE sushi spot in my hood, so I don't have to travel far but right now, it's just not worth the spend. I rather go farther to spend the same amount for better quality service and food. Will I be back? Probably, it's literally 5 min from me lol But will it be soon? No. read more

We just ordered a roll and some apps. We enjoyed what we picked but will probably try something different next time.

We arrived at the restaurant at 6pm on a Friday night. We got seated immediately but we did notice more people arriving after. At one point, there was a line going out the door. The restaurant is fairly large and there's ample seating but do expect a wait time as they seem pretty popular. Their menu stated 90 minute max however they did not enforce this since their service was slow and backed up. We ended up staying for about 2.5 hours. I do not recommend attending this restaurant if you are on a time crunch. There were a lot of unhappy customers because the food took so long to arrive or their orders were not being taken. We chose course C. Please keep in mind that their menu is still changing. They said this is still a soft opening and they're still trying to finalize things. Positive note: Their staff is friendly and super apologetic for their slow service. Their sesame balls were so fresh and so good. They are filled with Red Bean. I think this is worth trying. I also do recommend the Hamachi Kama, Toro, Uni and Unagi. The downside: I personally didn't like that their rolls didn't match the description of the menu. I had to waive someone down to even take my initial order after waiting for 20ish minutes from being seated. There was a limit to how many things we ordered as well as what we ordered per round. Meaning sometimes we couldn't even put a roll/sashimi/nigiri order since they were so backed up. We had to constantly follow up on our orders and what we ordered because things didn't come out all together or even approximately the same time. We had to constantly waive someone down to take our next order. I highly do NOT recommend the Garlic Escolar. This tasted rotten and I'm not sure if it was the garlic or the actual fish. But it was the worse item on the menu in my opinion. Following it, would be the spicy edamame, zig zag roll and the anaconda roll. I was very disappointed with those two rolls. In addition, their rice for nigiri and the rolls were so hard. It tasted like old refrigerated rice OR really undercooked rice. The spicy edamame used sambal sauce and I didn't like how sour it made the edamame. Overall, I probably will not come back for a long time. The quality of their food as well as their service was subpar. I think they have a lot of kinks they need to work out since they opened not too long ago. So maybe I'll give them another shot after a few months. read more

Fun to try a new AYCE in town. We came for lunch on a weekend and they are still figuring out their staffing and operations. Service was slow. We were still able to order three rounds and the food came out hot and fresh. The interior is beautiful and modern. My husband is not a seafood/sushi lover so one thing we enjoyed was how big the menu was besides sushi. Appetizers, soups, fried rice, teriyaki, etc. I can have my AYCE sushi now and still feel like he's going to get value out of it. We did the first tier $30/person that I thought was good value. My rolls were delicious and the presentation of all the food was great. We will definitely come back again and fingers crossed the service issues will have resolved by then. read more

A new gem in Fairfield and I would say this is definitely better than Fuji's in Vacaville or Concord. It was hard to find a good AYCE sushi spot in the area, but now we've found one! My bf and I came here on a Sunday right when the restaurant opened. They have ample parking and a security camera on the side of the building. The interior was modern and made us feel like we weren't in Fairfield. The staff were really friendly and explained how their menu worked. They offer 3 different tiers at about $30, $40, and $50. They also offer some Korean and Mexican food items. Be aware as the menu items are pricey if you decide not to go for the AYCE. We chose the $40 tier as it included the nigiri and sashimi. The sushi was pretty good. The fish tasted fresh, not frozen. We loved the nigiri! We made the mistake in getting a couple of rolls before asking how big they were because they give you 8 pieces in a roll, so you will get fuller faster! The chicken karaage was light on breading and the miso soup was also light, which was good for both it. Their lion king roll was slightly different from the usual roll you'd see at other restaurants and it did break apart when picking a piece up, but it was still good. We also tried the jalapeño bombs, which were also good. We'll definitely be coming back to try other items! read more

I am not one to post a bad review but this place is a total disappointment. They say all you can eat sushi but it's more like all you can eat rice! The proportion of rice to fish is ridiculous. Came in to celebrate my sister's birthday. They had a small section reserved for us and I like it. We were a party of 9 adults and 3 children. Mari took great care of us and explained some changes they made to their menu and pricing. I liked everything I ordered. Heard a lot of great reviews about this place from a lot of local friends and I thought it would be great to bring my family here. Okay food, lack of service. Ambiance - It very updated and modern inside. I remember when this location was Papa Sushi and other prior sushi spots, they definitely upgraded this location. One thing that I did find that were a hazard were these fixure lights they had that were hanging along side the walkway and they were short enough that I'd have to duck to not hit me on the face. I'm 5'2, so they hang very low. Food - Food was good. They have a great amount of option from appetizers, ramen, korean food, raw sushi, fried sushi, etc. I do find it hard to be able to try a lot of rolls as they're rolls are all full size and pretty big. On their menu it says left over will be charged as regular rolls on top of the AYCE price you are already paying for. So we were very hesitant to order more food at a time. There were some items on their menu that were 1 per person only which I understood because they were their premium sashimis but they have this rule of 1 dessert per paying guest. Meaning my 2 year old son who was free did not qualify for a dessert. He was able to eat other food, just not a scoop of ice cream. I didn't think that made much sense. Service - Service was lacking. They took our order once and they never really came back. After the first order we had to flag them for every order after. Our food came first before our drinks, I had to come up to their counter area and ask for water for our table. They have a lot of workers behind the sushi bar but not enough staff on the floor to actually take care of all their tables hence the service was very slow. Prices: Prices for adults are pretty decent. The prices for the kids are however personally unfair in my opinion as they base it off of height not age. If your kid is 50' under, they are on kids prices. Kids under 3 years old are free. My two older (10 years old, 7 years old) kids who barely eat a roll to themselves were charged adult price. I think this place is great for adults who are in catch up mode and are not in a time restraint. Not so much for family with younger kids due to the prices and the slow service. Also just a heads up, they do auto gratuity for parties of 6 or more. It is not written on their menu nor do they let you know when the check is dropped. read more

Tonight we got to experience Sushi Tsunami located on Texas street in Fairfield. It's in the old building where some of you might know as Momo's, Papa Sushi, or even Ichi Maki. They completely redid the dining area with new tables, a more modern sleek look, and even a fire place for the ambiance. We were all thoroughly impressed at face value. For a table of seven, as an all you can eat sushi restaurant, we all had to choose the same all you can eat combo. Fortunately, kids under 6 are free so we all opted for the expensive combo that included select seafood such as uni, hamachi kama, and toro. Ordering these items were limited to one order per person but it was worth it if you consider all the other rolls you can choose from. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs so we ordered a lot. One thing we noticed is how some of our rolls didn't get delivered to us but we didn't mind because we initially ordered too much anyway. So if there's any take away, order as you go and come early because those special sashimi and rolls go quick and may be out later in the night. The rolls they I got were delicious. The service was slightly slow but considering that tonight was their second night open it didn't bother us. read more

Shoutout to my coworker/sister for sharing this place with me and my family! We went after church and it wasn't super busy. This place took over Momo Sushi, which was my favorite place, but was excited to try this place out. They really changed the decor on the inside that it wasn't recognizable after going inside that building many times in the past. The vibes are great and the staff was so nice. Although the service was slow at times (keep in mind they just opened), the staff kept checking in to see if we needed something or to put another order in. The quality of the sushi was so good! I love that they serve full rolls so we can share amongst each other and not get too full. I love that the rolls were all different and didn't taste the same like other all you can eat places. We love the unique three-tier all-you-can-eat setup (A, B, and C), which makes it easy to enjoy a great meal no matter your budget or appetite. The C-tier gives you full access to everything on the menu, and it's absolutely worth it for the variety and quality. Some of our go-to favorites are the Galbi and Short Ribs--they're always tender, flavorful, and perfectly grilled. I had high hopes for this spot but left a little bit underwhelmed. The nigiri had a lot of rice and fish itself was not as cold as I'd like. I liked that you could order 3-4 items per person but it was super confusing when it came out because they would group rolls and nigiri all together so we were trying to figure out who ordered what every time. I was actually impressed by non sushi items like the bulgogi (perfectly cooked and thinly sliced) and the takoyaki. We tried several rolls but nothing stood out to me except the 49ers (I just love lemon on sushi rolls) and the Volcano (came out baked and warm!). The specialty rolls all come out in full size so that's something to consider with a smaller party. I wish they had half sizes. Even though we had 6 adults, it was still a struggle to get through the large sizes since we wanted to try so many! I didn't try as much nigiri as I hoped but I did enjoy the garlic ono, and the basil salmon was an interesting twist! The place itself was nicely decorated though and felt very modern, even from the minute you step into the lobby. It's a pretty big place. We had a nice window spot which was perfect for our large party. Service was good and they were pretty attentive. I am rounding up for ambiance and service! My granddaughter had knee surgery today so my wife and I decided to take her out for her favorite meal last night. When we walked in the door and told the hostess that my granddaughter and I wanted the all you can eat meal and my 72 year old wife wanted to order a meal from the kitchen problems started. She went over and whispered in the ear of the manager and explained the situation to him and he forbid us from dining under those circumstances. We were informed that because my wife was not getting an all you can eat meal she could not be served because "people steal off of the plates" We explained that we were not thieves, and had a restaurant of our, and just wanted to have a family outing. The waitress went over and had another top level conversation with the manager, who once again upheld his earlier ruling. After deep negotiations it was finally decided that my wife would have to sit at another table while my 13 year old granddaughter and I dined separately. It would have been different if we had ordered 2 all you can eat meals and the 3rd person didn't order anything, but she ordered a full meal for herself, and had no need to steal food from us. To top it off, we had not traveled one block from the place when she vomited everything up. Will not go back to that place again. Treated like thieves when we walked through the door, family dinner destroyed, and onto it all off my wife gave very large tips on both checks , (just to show that we have no need to steal food) I wouldn't have tipped a dime! read more

I loved this place! My family and I went on a Tuesday afternoon and were seated right away. The ambiance seemed pretty fancy for an all you can eat option and the food matched it. The fish was fresh, service was stellar, and overall a wonderful experience. Sushi rolls were the full rolls (they did not allow half rolls), takoyaki was delicious, nigiri was super fresh, and everything was top-tier. This place has surpassed other favorite AYCE sushi spots. Who knew Fairfield had this kind of place! Hopefully they continue getting support. We will definitely return! read more

To all my Solano folks, this sushi spot is TOP TIER OUT OF ALL SUSHI SPOTS, like definitely tops Toto's!!! The amount of staff at hand will always check in on you and they are so sweet! My family and friends and myself have tried the majority of the rolls and appetizers and desserts and we have nothing bad to say because it's THAT GOOD! It's never really busy when we go and I have gone for dinner during the week and weekend. It has been a pleasure with the food, the environment, the service and the cleanliness! My family of 5 went to try the place out as there are not that many AYCE sushi in Fairfield. We came at the right time as we were exiting, there was a long line. When we first entered, the interior is beautiful, which was something we were not expecting by the exterior. The menu was extensive with 3 different options. We went with option B. There were some options were the quality was a hit or miss. For instance, we ordered the beef teriyaki and it was very chewy and hard to eat. However, for an AYCE sushi in Fairfield, the overall options and quality is good for the area. If you were to compare it to places in different cities, this place would definitely be ranked lower. If you live in Fairfield, I say that Tsunami Sushi is a pretty solid option to go to. The parking is small and depending on the time you go/how big your party is expect a wait. read more

Can't tell what they've added/removed but the sashimi option was a big one for me as I gave up rice for Lent and was planning on ordering nothing but sashimi this visit. I did order their "burrito" which had no rice & was spicy tuna and crab wrapped in a tortilla. This was a huge portion and I became full very quickly. I suggest do not order it as part of your AYCE experience or you won't have room for anything else. LOL read more

The 2nd time we went they significantly cut the menu to 1 page, front and back (from maybe 5?). Either way, we are most interested in their sushi. Also, no more sashimi only nigiri. Fish/Sushi is very fresh. Service speed was much faster the 2nd time around but I think that all depends on their staffing. You kind of have to go in with a game plan. Amazing atmosphere and excellent service! Our waiter, Maru, was nice and attentive. The food was top notch! You would think that an all you can eat sushi place would reduce portions, but all of their rolls were full size and filling! We all ordered the B option of the All You Can Eat menu since that included the Nigiri thinking we would do some damage. We barely skimmed the surface since the portions were full size. They have such a variety and I love the savory options. The sashimi is fresh! I was a bit disappointed with the sushi rice . It was harder to chew and lacked flavoring. But their sushi with no rice was delicious!!! I didn't really care for the sushi rolls. They just felt mediocre compared to everything else I tried. For this first trip I will have to rate it at 3 1/2 stars. But I do rate the service 5 stars. Be careful with the low hanging light fixtures if you are a taller person. First time coming here with my husband. There's plenty of parking, the restaurant is spacious, clean and has a modern vibe. We didn't have a reservation however we were greeted and seated quickly. The service was great the servers checked on us a few times which is always appreciated. As for The food was delicious.
