This place is pretty decent. Takoyaki was pretty good. The rolls however fell apart easily. Steak teriyaki was good. The sauce definitely hit but I asked for medium rare and got rare. Came on Valentine's Day, ask a lady in the front desk if there was tables and she said 10 minute. We put down our number and she said we can wait in our car. However, we waited for over 25 minutes and they didn't even call us back. Most Japanese restaurants use the same orange ginger dressing; this dressing had this additional delectable umami flavor! A hidden gem that I found near my boyfriend's house! They opened a few months ago and I finally had a chance to try them out. It wasn't busy when I walked in and I was attended to immediately. I tried their tuna sashimi a la carte ($2.80 for 2), a LARGE bowl of miso soup ($2), sweetheart roll ($13), and scallop/shrimp hibachi ($20). My total was around $41+tip. I was surprised at how nice this spot is. It's small, across from a pizza shop on Castleton Avenue. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but was pleasantly surprised. It's a very clean, calm environment. I went on a Wednesday night, so it wasn't empty when I arrived. The staff was diligent and attention. Love sushi, but often worry about integrity of food. While standing at the S46 bus in front of Sushi Wen a gentleman stopped outside the restaurant and picked something up. He asked if I'd dropped it, and looking I saw he was holding American currency. I answered no, and he proceeded to look around for whoever dropped it but no other pedestrians were around. I suggested he put it in the tip jar at Sushi Wen. At this point he introduced himself as Mr. Wen. Although I've never eaten at Sushi Wen I'm now making arrangements to dine at this sushi restaurant where the owner has so much integrity. Delivery was quick! I got the 10 party platter for four people and it was definitely filling. The price was very very affordable for the amount of sushi I received and will be going back to try the specialty rolls in the future.
