    Superman roll (comes without rice)

Wonderful staff, environment, and sushi. We tried quite a few roll, but our favorite: albacore capaccio. Seaweed salad, Spider roll, Superman toll, Red Dragon roll, and Rainbow roll. We also took a teriyaki chicken home for a family member. Everything was delicious. Best of all was the freshness of the food and the great price. Come see for yourself.

Great local happy hour -- sushi tasted great and the beer was cold. Friendly service and clean interior -- has a cool and hip vibe. Will definitely be back!

Tried Sushi World Sushi for the first time and I'm glad I did. From the outside, you can't really tell what it's giving, but inside it's actually a vibe. The walls are covered in beautiful artwork, and the bar area felt relaxed. They had football on the TV when I came in, and a few people were posted up watching the game. They also had music playing, and I caught myself doing a little bop at the bar, so yes, the vibe was vibing. Service was a highlight. The guys behind the counter were super friendly and attentive, checked on me throughout, and when I ordered oysters they offered me Tabasco, which was a nice touch. Oysters with a little Tabasco? 10/10. I also ordered the #2 bento box, and it was a mix of hits and a couple misses. The cucumber salad was good, the sushi was good, and the rice was solid. The tempura veggies were a little soft and could've been fried harder, plus a little salt would've helped. The chicken teriyaki leaned a bit dry, but the flavor was good. Overall, I enjoyed it and I'll be back. For a neighborhood spot, it surprised me in a good way, especially on service, atmosphere, and the friendly sushi bar energy.

Don't let the name fool you--Sushi World is an excellent local sushi spot with delicious food and friendly, attentive staff. They offer daily specials, happy hour deals, unique specialty rolls, bento boxes, omakase specials, fresh sushi and sashimi, and more! I recently enjoyed their sushi, omakase sushi lunch, miso black cod dish, and appetizers. If you're not into sushi, they offer plenty of cooked items and soups from the kitchen. Follow them on social media for updates on their current specials and when they announce whole Blue Fin tuna carvings. Get first dibs on the fresh tuna! Prices have increased over the years, as have most restaurants. However, quality and service are worth the cost. I'll be back!

    Employees with no gloves

My low rating is for the sole reason that neither cooks wore gloves. I watch them handle multiple things food and non food items no gloves and never once washed there hands. Very unsanitary especially since they handle raw sushi. The sushi itself wasn't to bad but prices a little high if it wasn't wasn't for the sanitary issues it be a ok place

The food was very good. The wait time, however. Around 7 pm on a Thursday night was 45 minutes for our food. That's after our order was placed. Huge to go orders and only two staffers running around meant hungry diners and then no open tables for folks waiting. Kind of a nightmare scenario. But once the food came, it was good. I especially liked the jalapeño yellow tail sashimi.

The food here was really good, but the service was super slow and honestly not great. We waited way too long for dishes to come out, which made the experience less enjoyable. First dish came out about 9 minutes after order was taken the the dish took 36 minutes later. One suggestion for the restaurant: during special events like the bluefin tuna cutting, please consider having more chefs making sushi, especially for the tables not seated at the bar. It seemed like those at the bar were taken care of quickly, while everyone else had to wait much longer.

Wow just realized that I haven't left a review for this place. Full disclosure I've been here a hundred times and have no problem spending top dollar here. It's a small/medium sized restaurant that has an awesome vibe. The staff and sushi Chefs, lead by Chef Ewan(forgive me if I spelt the name wrong) are the best in the business. This is my favorite style sushi place, it lands between traditional Japanese style and modern American style. I love the experience of traditional Japanese no menu restaurants, but at times they can feel overly stiff and slow. This place buys top quality product(I know from an inside source) and the presentation and flavor development of the dishes is excellent. Standout dish/item: Uni Shooter & Shima Aji

Amazed how good this place was since it wasn't crowded. Mon & Tues they have happy hour all day . The sushi and the oysters didn't taste fishy at all either . Def would come back

Oh my word. Why have I taken this long to get here?! Excellent quality sushi and everything we ate was so good! Started with chicken gyoza and agadahsi tofu. Then the real meal started with truffle seared salmon sushi, peppered salmon sushi, and salmon sushi! We had the Bentley roll which had seared salmon on top and spicy salmon inside. Wow. Salmon carpaccio was tasty, the sauce was delicious and had a hint of spicy oil. What I really enjoyed was the salmon skin hand roll. The crunchy salmon skin and fresh cucumbers along with the perfectly wrapped seaweed was *chefs kiss* Staff was attentive and it was chill vibes. They had raspberry iced tea which for some reason I flippin love with any meal, so for that, I give 5 solid stars. LOL! I'm coming back to this place. For sure, for sure.

I saw the picture, on Facebook, of the Bluefin Tuna bowl. It states that this item isn't on the menu, yet, but I would like to know the price of the item?

It is a Bluefin Toro Bowl. It costs $45.

Do you serve beer and wine also?

Yes We serve beer, wine and sake

How come the table in the back isn't open to smaller parties? We dine here frequently and it's my sons favor place to sit. However we're told it's for large parties only but no one ever sits back there.

They're being hopeful that a larger party comes. They also don't want a predicament: If you were sitting there and a larger party came, you probably wouldn't want to be told you needed to change tables.

Is omakase still available? If so, how much per person?

Omakase is available every day. The price depends on how many pieces of sushi you want. If you let the server or chef know how many pieces you would like per person, they'll be able to give you a price.

    You open today?

Yes, we are open every day.

    Is it Ayce?

    No, it is not.

Are the sushi chefs wearing masks AND gloves when making the rolls and sushi dishes during this COVID-19 pandemic?

Yes from the couple times I've been there in recent months.

    Are the party trays 20%?

    Currently for take out, yes.

Where can I find the party platter options and price? Will I be able to order and pickup on thanksgiving day?

Hi and thank you for contacting us. All of our party platter pricing is listed at the url below. However, we will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, unfortunately. You can place your order for any other day we are open. Thank you and regards.… Read more

    When is happy hour?

Is one sushi order 2 pcs? (i.e. Yellowtail, $4.75)

Yes, all of our sushi prices are for 2 pieces per order.

At the very least, it has been my favorite chain of Japanese markets, but it stinks how they have just one location in the Bay Area! In fact, across my limited number of trips to SoCal, I've already visited more locations down here than back at home and I have to say - this location may be the newest, but it's also my least favorite one I've been to. Like pretty much every other Mitsuwa I've been to, this location has a cute little food court with a half dozen or so eateries offering a variety of food options - from ramen, udon, and curry rice plates to onigiri, matcha, and Japanese sweets. As for the market, it has all of the usual offerings you would expect - a solid selection of fresh produce, meats, seafood, frozen foods, pantry staples, alcohol, snacks, and sections of prepared foods and sushi to choose from. What's more, as a whole, everything here felt so new and clean (which makes sense in hindsight, as it apparently opened only back in November). With all of that having been said, though, it's weird to me how this place still felt a bit...lacking. While you can find a decent mix of things to eat at their food court, it's pretty much limited to three eateries, so don't be surprised to see lines when it's busy. Also, despite how new it is, the market feels smaller than other Mitsuwas I've been to. That's not inherently bad, but pickings felt relatively slim for certain meats and produce we were looking for, as well as their bento boxes and sushi. Granted, it probably didn't help that we were here on a Sunday and the place was packed with customers, but it's not like we stopped in towards the end of the day either. All in all, while I definitely think there are plenty of positives about this location, I'd be lying if I said I was as impressed with this one as I was by their location in Costa Mesa. It's definitely nice how new it is and I would never be opposed to going to any Mitsuwa, but if I lived out this way, it'd be tough not to know whether I'll be able to get everything I need here or if I'll also need to stop off somewhere else. THREE AND A HALF STARS rounded down for now.

But I must agree with other reviewers on certain aspects. The nori is very soft and chewy. It's not separated from the warm gohan itself. So if you're accustomed to onigiri with crisp nori, you will be disappointed. Depending on which kind of omusubi you're getting, I also agree that it may definitely feel like there's a lot more rice than the filling. I usually get the mentaiko, ebiten, and oyster musubis. I feel as though those are actually consistently good. The saltiness of the fillings really offsets the amount of rice included and makes it work. My other favorite flavors are takana and shiso. The two goes perfectly well with the karaage they sell separately. Another thing is that the rice itself is actually seasoned and not plain, which helps. Chashu and other fillings like eel has been a miss at this location. Same with their tuna and salmon offerings. I must admit I'm especially not a huge fan of their tuna offerings. It uses too much katsuobushi flavor in my opinion. I like mine more mayo forward. The service here can be a hit or a miss. It really depends on who is working there and what time/day of the week it is. Same goes with the availability of seatings. Parking is free but can be a hassle to find a close spot because of the proximity to the gym, superchargers, and other businesses.

I was craving some cold soba and saw that Echizen offered Zaru Soba! We waited about 15 minutes or…read moreso for a table for 2. Under their Light Dinner section, they offer a Zarusoba for $12.00 and a Tempura Udon/Soba with Shrimp Tempura for $13.00. However, if you want Zarusoba with Tempura, they charge an extra dollar. The Zarusoba was good, but it would be nice if they gave a bit more sauce for dipping. I also got a Sashimi Salad, which had a lot of sashimi! It had salmon, tuna, and a white fish. Pretty good, but it could have used a little more dressing as well. The Combination Plate with Salmon and Tempura was enjoyable. It comes with a piece of salmon, a variety of tempura (shrimp, broccoli, sweet potato, onion), side salad, miso soup, rice, tempura sauce, and teriyaki sauce. Salmon was cooked well, and I liked all of the tempura! Their Lunch Specials are originally what caught my eye, but it seems like they don't have anything similar for dinner. Instead, everything is a la carte with the exception of a few combination plates. I wish they would do dinner specials similar to their lunch specials! Parking here is pretty difficult. The lot gets packed with several cars circling around hunting for a spot. They're also going some construction right now which doesn't help. There is a large parking lot where the Home Depot is next door, but they specifically have signs posted to say you can't park there.

Authentic Japanese-owned, mostly Japanese staff, with a couple of long-timers who have clearly found their forever workplace - over a decade and counting. New owner took over when the original retired, a few small changes here and there, but the food and service? Barely touched. That is the highest compliment a ownership transition can get. Check IG for their lunch specials from M-F. I am leaving this review purely out of self-interest. This place cannot close.

We got the tonkotsu ramen and a yellowtail roll called Angrytail Roll. The fish is fresh and the Tonkotsu is so flavorful that we even finished all the broth. Our server was so sweet as well. It also felt like a different little world inside of this restaurant, within the food court, which is very cool for an experience for dining within a food court. Highly recommend!

In addition to the many ramen variations, their menu features a good selection of different apps. For the bogo, I got the black ramen while my friend got the tonkotsu ramen. The black ramen was pretty good. A bit too salty for me, but I still liked the taste. My friend's tonkotsu broth was also good. The pork was tender and not too fatty which I prefer. We also got an order of chashu fries and thought these were good. We were quite full from the soup but brought the leftover fries home to warm in the air fryer. The ramen here tastes fine. It's nothing too special so I don't think I'd get ramen here again.
