This is my go to sushi place in Park Slope. I've eaten here a few times and have gotten takeout here as well. The sushi and sashimi are always high quality and prepared beautifully. There are many sushi places in Park Slope but this place uses high quality ingredients and they prepare their dishes with such care. My favorite items are the special rolls (rainbow and dragon) and the sashimi deluxe. The service is always friendly and attentive. The prices are pretty average for sushi and their omakase is only $55 which is not bad. I'll be back as usual (not just because it's within a 5 block radius of my apartment). read more

I was craving sushi and Yashin was relatively close by so given the good reviews, i decided to try them out. I came in on a cold and rainy Sunday afternoon and Yashin provided the warmth and coziness i needed. It's a small spot and probably wouldn't fit a large crowd. There was only one other couple here so i didn't have to wait (thankfully). I ordered the spicy tuna roll, spicy scallop roll, natto (fermented soybeans) roll, and the medium fatty tuna sushi. I asked if they could make my rolls gluten free, and they even provided a gluten free soy sauce. The staff was friendly and helpful when it came to ordering from the menu. All the rolls were delicious, and the fish was super fresh. It was my first time trying a natto roll, so i wasn't sure what to expect, but i actually really enjoyed it. Definitely an acquired taste, so if you don't want a roll with any fish, but don't want to experiment, i probably wouldn't suggest it. Yashin has a lot of your regular sushi rolls (spicy tuna, california, etc.), as well as a variety of sushi/sashimi and special rolls. Glad i found a sushi spot in Park Slope that i love! read more

We tried the their Spicy Girl Roll which was small, loosely wrapped, not to spicy but enough for those who shy away from jalapenos. A 5th Ave roll with salmon, avocado, cucumber, crunch "?" and spicy mayo, it sucked. We also had a California roll with real crab which they don't sell in California so I'll give them props. I had sushi omakase. all the fishes was so fresh and they put the special sauce from the chef on the top of sushi. Mostly their fishes from Tsukiji fish market in Japan. The omakase comes with the gomae (spinach) or age shisito (Japanese pepper). The chef is very friendly. he was asking me if any fish that i don't like it. The otoro was melting in your mouth.
