The place doesn't take reservations so expect to wait. We waited about 30 minutes for seats at the bar. The interior looks beautiful and really replicates Japanese art, culture, etc nicely. The service was decently fast as well as they gave us one plate at a time. The drink was tasty and you can definitely taste the alcohol in it. I personally enjoyed the Godzilla toy on it and they have a few alternations of it. The gyoza was probably the best item my girlfriend and I had as the chicken dumplings underneath were delicious. The skirt steak was tender and had a nice sauce on it too. The chicken karaage was our least favorite just because there wasn't much taste to it. It came with a sort of mayo dip, and it was fried nicely.

Our favorite spot to celebrate all occasions! Food brings us back to Japan! Ambiance is retro /izakaya. You have to try their seasonal specials as well! Never disappoints. We LOVE the beef tongue. So tender, probably the best beef tongue we've ever had in the nation. The dessert never disappoints. A perfect ending to a wonderful meal. Kurobata sausage: delicious and cute! This is what high quality ingredients get you!

What an amazing little hole in the wall! This is an Izakaya style eatery and they totally nailed the perfect vibe. From the decor, to the seats at the bar watching our food made, to the amazing tasty food at great prices, I wish I lived near here because this would be a regular hangout. We tried regular menu items, specials, themed cocktails, the whole bit, and absolutely everything was spot on! Service was super friendly, and it seemed everything was made to order. I loved everything about this place!

I got so lucky again. I wanted to do on a Saturday night. I arrived around 730ish, and got lucky to find parking. When I arrived, I was told there was a bar seating in 10 minutes, which I took. I scanned the menu and had to have the old fashioned again (12 dollars). It was a great deal as it was boozy for me to stay happy for a while. For dinner, I splurged with the miso lamb (26 dollars) and chicken breast and thigh skewers (4.6 dollars each). All the meats were perfectly grilled and tender. The miso paste was perfect with the lamb, and the chimichurri sauce made it more flavorful. There were micro greens and potatoes for the vegetables. The wasabi topping on the chicken was very nice and brought the kick needed. I don't know if it was real wasabi, but it was still good. For dessert, the matcha tiramisu (8 dollars) was earthy and light, and the green tea was a nice gesture. The service was attentive and nice. My bartender made a great drink and the whole staff took great care of us. The vibe is still very nice, with lots of Japanese nostalgia displayed. The bar area has a nice open kitchen to watch the action as well. Music looks to be Japanese pop or anime. Parking can be difficult, and the wait times can get long, so bring your patience as it is well worth it! This is still a wonderful Japanese restaurant for bar food. No wonder it still gets crowded, especially on a Saturday night. I really need to visit their sister restaurant, Juju, as well. They are a similar concept with excellent food and drinks too! Susuru is the best restaurant in Orlando! If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would. Every dish we ordered was incredible, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. Overall we enjoyed the foods we ordered. The izakaya skewers and grilled items are great! Their ramen noodles are rated undercooked - not necessarily in a bad way - it's just not as soft as other places but I actually prefer my noodles a bit undercooked. The tonkotsu black are strongly flavored - lots of bamboo shoots. It is my least favorite. Miso lamb comes with chimichurri that's just out of this world. We had to wait for about 30 mins, but the are lots of benches outside so the wait wasn't too bad.

I was in town for a work conference and ended up meeting up with one of my friends who also happens to be Yelp elite. She recommended this place and it was close to where I was staying so it sounded like a good deal. I got there just as they were opening around 5 PM and was seated promptly. The decor inside is very cool. I love the chairs and all of the Japanese influence. We had so many delicious bites from the skirt steak to the fried chicken. Everything had great flavor and texture. The Sapporo's were nice and cold and cheap. I did try one of the fancy drinks the Godzilla and it was yummy. As we were leaving this place was starting to get packed on a weekday which is a good sign to me. If you plan on coming here, definitely make sure you come with time so you can get yourself a nice table and enjoy some great food.

The staff have always been friendly and efficient, their menu offers a little something for everyone as well. Even for picky eaters as there are some basic rice offerings or a variety of sticks. It's also a good option for people wanting to try something that is not standard Japanese fare offered at many restaurants. If you're in the mood for Japanese food, or seeking a great late night bite option that isn't bar food or chain, you'll enjoy your visit here!

I remember reading somewhere that Susuru felt like a Michelin star experience without the Michelin prices, and I couldn't agree more. Orlando has a small collection of these incredible Asian tapas places which warm the heart and feed the soul, and Susuru is now my favorite of those places. First impressions- the inside of Susuru is so damn charming. You really feel like you've been transported to a delightful restaurant you'd find in Japan. The atmosphere is fun but not crazy by any means. The restaurant was full with a 10 minute wait, and I believe that was late on a Wednesday night... I have friends that went back to Susuru and said that they waited over an hour on a Saturday night (they spent the hour at the Axe-Throwing tiki bar a few shops away). I don't believe they take reservations, so if you don't want to wait a while, make sure you go on a weeknight! Also, parking is plentiful, free, and not an issue. My buddy that I went with wanted to splurge and have a sort of Top Chef-fy experience, so she ordered way more than 2 people have any business ordering. Zero complaints, because we had a blast... and we found it pretty affordable considering how much we ordered. THE GOODS: 1) Tonkotsu Ramen- her and I were both craving ramen, so we started off with it. Ugh. Delicious. I got the regular Tonkotsu, and she got the Tonkotus Black (the only difference is the black garlic oil). We both loveddd it. And honestly, it was even more delicious the next day when we had the leftovers for a hearty lunch. The noodles and broth were great; and the egg was yummy (my favorite soft boiled egg in town is still Domu's East End location's bruléed soil boiled egg). I'd order the ramen again. 2) Chicken Karaage- perfectly battered and fried. Sometimes, I feel like karaage is over-battered and so crispy that it hurts your mouth when you're crunchy down on it... This had the ideal crunch with tender pieces of chicken inside. And the yuzu mayo was a great complement to the dish. 3) Mentaiko Fries- I felt like the more I had these, the more I liked them. I'm a big fan of putting roe on more food items, so I loved the idea of making a spicy mayo with roe. The fries were crunchy and went so well with the roe mayo. Thumbs up. 4) Susuru Gohan- this was a nice dish. I liked that it was pretty simple and a nice addition to the rest of the meal. I'd think of it as ordering a flavorful side of rice rather than an appetizer or dish on its own. 5) Momo (Yakitori)- this was good. Not super memorable... but tasty. I've had better chicken thigh yakitori. I'd probably order something else to try something new next time. 6) Beef Tongue (Kushiyaki)- OH MY. Hands down, my favoriteee bite of the whole experience... and quite honestly my favorite bite I've had of something in a while. The beef tongue quite literally melts in your mouth. Ughhh what a savory and delicious bite. I could have this every single day of my life and never get tired of it. I am salivating just thinking about it. 7) Matcha Tira-Masu- While the matcha tira-masu was tasty, I went into dessert thinking this was going to be my #1 dessert... but I actually liked the Ube soft serve more. This tasted more along the lines of a very light cheesecake dusted in matcha. I love how it was served- it was a beautiful dish. 8) Soft Serve (Ube)- this was great and was surprised by it. It felt like a much lighter ice cream, and wasn't heavy or super creamy. It reminded me more of an asian shaved ice (like at Saigon Snow at Mills Market). The ube flavor was delightful and wasn't overpoweringly sweet as it often is. Be mindful that the flavors vary- a friend of mine that returned to Susuru LOVED this ube soft serve when we had it but didn't like the new flavor she had when she returned (she couldn't remember what it was, maybe a vanilla?). Overall, I absolutely loveddd my experience at Susuru. I even bought one of their t-shirts so I can get 10% off every time I return, lmao. I now tell everyone and their mothers about how great this place is. I wish it was closer to me- but I'll have to plan a Disney + Susuru trip on that side of town soon just to experience my favorites all over again (and try some new bites)! I definitely recommend coming here!!

Rounded up from 3.5 stars. We were sat at a table in the middle of the room. It's a bit loud in the restaurant and it wasn't the most comfortable place to sit being surrounded by noise. We really like the small plate concept so that you try several plates in one sitting. They were out of several menus items that we were hoping to try but we were able to find enough to make a meal out of what was available. Lastly our server just seemed like she didn't want to be there. I don't know what she had going on but it just doesn't make the experience super enjoyable with an unenthusiastic server.

Really enjoyed my meal here. Well spaced indoor dining. However, 4 stars because they ran out of gyoza two hours before closing. Had chicken karaage (bigger than I expected - better for sharing), yakitori momo (best thing I ate, can't recommend it enough), skirt steak kushiyaki (very tender and tasty), and brussel sprouts yasai (great tasting but almost impossible to take off the skewer). Topped off with an Orion beer from Okinawa which brought back great memories. They have a decent selection of Japanese whiskey but I didn't try any. Definitely coming back here if and when I'm back in Orlando. read more

Such an awesome place. Great food, great staff, even greater drinks. The decor and overall vibe is so awesome for a night out with friends. It is a bit warm in the restaurant so if you are one to get hot easily be aware. The little toys on the drinks are so fun. Chicken skins have to be the best item on the menu (I may be biased but trust me). The Godzilla drink will have to knocking them back. It's beautiful and SO good. read more

I came here for my 21st birthday recently and it was so worth it! The food was wonderful and I indulged in my first legal alcoholic beverage here. Now I am afraid nothing else will compare! This was the best resturaunt experience I've had in all of Orlando. The staff was amazing and super friendly, the atmosphere is super cool with retro Japanese toys and pop culture. The food was absolutely amazing. The best ramen I've had in town by a mile and a half. We got the skewers (thigh, steak, sausage, and zucchini) they were excellent and make sure they bring you the spice mix to dip them into. Everything was cooked to perfection and the prices were very reasonable 3 courses for about 40$ read more

Wow!!! Absolutely loved this place! I couldn't decide what to get so I ended up ordering like 5 dishes LOL the chicken ramen was the best Ramen I've ever had. The corn appetizer was oh so delicious and very similar to the Mexican elotes. Also loved the fried rice with pork pictured above! I'm planning to come back again this weekend. I was able to sit at the bar and get service immediately. The girl was so attentive after I asked what I should get. She broke everything down and was super patient with my questions. The service was quick and on point. As we were leaving so many of the servers were saying bye to us which never happens. I would for sure come back. Food was amazing. Tried a little bit of the skewers, ramen, and the pork belly mini bowl. So good!! Not disappointed at all. read more

The hostess were horrible. We told her there are 2 of us and we can sit anywhere, the bar or the table whichever comes available first. She said the wait time is 2 hours and we have to be present to be seated. We were fine with that. There are only 5 people in front of us. We waited outside. Meanwhile we were outside, a couple went in and came right out and complained about the wait time being 120 minutes. We joked about it together. The couple left. My husband and I went inside to wait. There were empty tables in the restaurant but they are not sitting anyone. While waiting, the couple we were talking to earlier came in and got seated. What kind of privilege are they giving to this couple? We were there before this couple and put our name down but we were not seated. I will never go back to this restaurant. I came here with a group of friends after hanging out at Player 1. I've been dying to visit Susuru for quite awhile and was happily not at all disappointed. We ordered a few items to share, all of which were very good and the Tori Paitan I ordered for myself was so stinkin delicious! If you're in the neighborhood, definitely stop by for a great dinner. If you're not in the area, make the trip over. It's so worth it! read more

I am in Orlando for a business trip and I liked Susuru so much that I went back again the next day!! I had the Tonkotsu Ramen, the Grilled Rice Bowl with Uní and Match Tiramisu. The ramen was good - the soup is very delicious and noodles were very tender but I thought it could be better with more toppings. The grilled rice was super yummy - the rice was crunchy, the flavor of the soup was so good and uni was just awesome! The Macha tiramisu was heavenly!!! All in all, everything was very well priced!! We didn't have a pleasant experience here. The wait time is extremely long even though we were in line 15 minutes before they opened. They still kept us waiting to be seated for about 30 minutes. It took a long time for us to get our food. The ramen soup base is salty and tasteless, the skewers are pretty bland too... don't really know why people would wait in line for this type of services and food.... read more

They were busy, which was to be expected, on a Friday night. We were told we would be seated within an hour but only waited 45 mins. Ambiance was great. Place was nice and clean. Server and workers were very polite and friendly. We ordered different appetizers, a ramen bowl, rice bowl, & various items from the grill section. Everything tasted good, only complaint would be that the ramen broth was salty. Tasty, but too salty. read more

Enjoyed every plates. Had yakitori, ramen, small rice bowl, grilled fish, gyoza, chicken karaage, okonomiyaki with a group of four. They were all in right portion to enjoy different dish. Ramen noodle itself was tasting like gluten free thin spaghetti and easy to eat, but I liked it along the soup. read more

Food is very good, but way over priced. Not a typical eating experience. 4 wings for $8, one very small skew for $4. I took the family and spent $120, and everyone was still hungry. We decided to go to another restaurant to satisfy everyone. I can only give one star because the prices are to hight to justify the quantity provided. However, the food does test good if you want to spend $$$ to get satisfied. read more

Online it showed they closed at 11p. We arrived at 9pm. Walked in and the girl at the desk said they aren't taking any more people. I said oh I thought you were open till 11p. She said they close at 10p. So I asked if I could order to go. No they don't want to do anymore Togo orders. So then I asked if I can make a reservation. No they don't do reservations. While I'm asking 1 guy picked up a to go order and another couple was walking in. I guess they don't want customers. Sucks because they are supposed to be good. Who knows...the girl at the desk acted like she didn't care at all. There are so many other places in Orlando. I would skip this one it's a waste of gas and time on them read more

Had really high hopes for this place based on reviews. Sat at the bar, which was really sticky. 1. Matcha boba- super sweet even though waitress told me it wouldn't be. It literally has cotton candy and rock sugar on it. 2. Chicken thigh skewer- undercooked and not great flavor. 2. Onikyaki pancake- was alright, nothing special. I have mixed feelings. I'm from NY and I came yesterday for some Ramen. I was originally gonna get the Tonkotsu ramen, but the waitress suggested I try the Tonkotsu Ramen but with these new garlic oil noodles. So I said yes, when I had it, I wasn't a big fan. I wish I had stuck with the original Tonkotsu because the garlic was so strong and intense that every bite I took tasted bitter. I got a side of mushroom skewers and I didn't like it. You need an acquired taste for it. Other than that, my seaweed salad was excellent, my beef and pork belly skewers were flavorful. I would definitely come back but I would NOT get garlic noodles. It overpowers the entire broth. read more

I've tried multiple times trying to get a spot for some ramen that has a lot of good reviews. Every time I try and go, they tell me it's an hour and half wait. I put my name down, I sit in my car and wait. About half way, I go to get a status check and they're still sitting at an hour and a half wait sometimes more. I was really disappointed in that they don't have a reservation system especially with COVID. The waiting area is not COVID friendly either especially how tight and small the area is. The first time I went and waited the three hours, they were out of everything and also forgot a lot of my additions to my ramen. It took about an hour to place an order and the server seemed upset that we were order closer to closing time. I hope that the next time I try and go they can better their service and hopefully get a reservation system. Being an authentic ramen shop near Disney, they need a reservation system. read more

Great casual ambiance and unique decor. Food is delicious and is priced reasonably so you get to try a number of different dishes. Recommend the fish collar, beef tongue yakitori, and Susuru gohan! Definitely worth the trip to the Lake Buena Vista area! read more

In Orlando for vacation and we needed some japanese food. Found this place and it had great reviews. The decor and service is great but the food is really lacking. The ramen is very bland and the yakatori and fish is just not that good. Had high hopes for this place. Im from NYC so i guess my taste buds are spoiled. read more

The service attitude is very bad, we arrived at 9 o'clock. We were not allowed to eat in the store, and we could only order takeout . They last call ordered at the end from 9:30-9:45, and I was speechless. I wanted to call to book a place before I came, but they didn't accept it. Finally ordered takeout , it was cold when I got home, how to eat! ! The taste is not good, I really don't know where the praise is coming from! ! I don't want to give a star! ! ! read more

I recently went to Orlando for a conference, and while we spent the majority of our time in a large…read moreresort and convention center, the leadership of the organization hosting the conference hosted a special dinner in one of the reservable ballrooms at the Cuba Libre Restaurant. I believe it may have been the Havana Ballroom. There was plenty of food, drinks, and mingling. The Cuba Libre Restaurant staff were great, and the venue was well laid out and worked for this event very well. When we arrived around 6:30 PM on a Saturday evening for our event, we first mingled around the tables and near the cash bar. There were a bunch of large tables that we began to fill out. As our program began and announces made and awards given out, appetizers were passed out. We were offered Guacamole Cubano, Mama Amelia's Empanadas, and Shrimp Cocktail which we passed around to the entire table. Personally, I skipped the guacamole and shrimp dishes but absolutely loved the empanadas. Yum! Then, an individual Cuban House Salad was passed out with red wine vinaigrette. This was also quite tasty. Next came the entrees including a choice of Salmon Paradiso, Ropa Vieja, Citrus Chicken, or Paella Vegetariana. I was trying to decide between the Ropa Vieja (beef brisket) and the Citrus Chicken. While the Citrus Chicken sounded perfect, I asked the serving staff their advice, and they recommended the Ropa Vieja for a true taste of Cuba. I was happy that I did even though it may have been more heavy and with a kick than I was expecting. I'm still glad I ordered it though. It was wonderfully prepared! And then, everyone received Cuban Flan for dessert. The Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar celebrates Cuban heritage and explores Cuban flavors, music, art, and traditions. The mission of the restaurant is to provide an "escape" to Havana through exciting food and beverages and entertainment experiences to celebrate the Cuban people and their culture. Orlando hosts one of several of this restaurant around the United States. This restaurant is in the midst of the Pointe Orlando. Today Me and my friends went to sit down at this restaurant . My meal wasn't the best which is fine, but my true review is my experience at the end of my meal when I went to pay. firstly, I filled out my receipt and today I was not able to pay for tip. So as was done she stopped me. She told me I should pay at least 18%. Then I politely told her I'm so sorry I cannot today.Then at then She then told me that I should be careful and tip she said to me with attitude. Additionally in retrospect and reviewing my friends receipt I food out that drink I ordered which is usually alcoholic. I was charged full price for both which is wrong because my friend who also ordered a drink with alcohol, it was two separate fees. So with I dec to call just to put in a formal complaint about my experience. I called the restaurant I find out later someone I know who called the restaurant that I never actually spoke with a manager even though this person claims to be the owner, there was no owner in the store at this time and it was just an employee covering for their Co worker. this person at first and the conversation was fine, but became extremely hostile in claimed assumptions. It was very accusatory. As I try to explain myself, call me to their conversation just escalated and they were very accusatory towards me and basically agreed that how she treated me with disrespect even though I politely said that I could not today was in her right to be rude and angry, because just today I was not able to tip her. Which again in retrospect, this person claimed to be the owner and I found the information out when I had someone else call to say there was no owner in the restaurant at the time as I called so their employees are also fraudulent about who is in charge and pretending to be a manager within the restaurant. It was very good, well-balanced and fun, but I have to admit I was a little disappointed they didn't have the signature toy--definitely a small letdown. Now onto the food--the real highlight. The oyster fries are an absolute MUST try. Super crunchy, packed with flavor, and cooked to perfection--easily a 10/10. Another standout was the karaage: crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and paired with a light sauce that tied everything together beautifully. Truly amazing. For those complaining about food portions/ prices, familiarize yourself with the izkaya style (means small dishes that everyone shares, similar to tapas) before coming here!! This place definitely has one of the best Japanese skewers in Orlando! Honestly, I feel like the yakitori here isn't that much different than the ones I had for much pricier at Torishin in New York (excuse my unrefined palate). While people complain about the prices here, I actually thought my meal was quite affordable. Also if you like ramen, try the Tori Paitan ramen that has thick, creamy and flavorful broth! read more

I wasn't particularly impressed with the food here. We arrived around 10:30 pm, hoping for something warm to counter the chilly weather outside. While we waited for our table (about 10 minutes), we noticed several empty tables, which were only filled after we started ordering. As for the ramen, it didn't quite hit the mark. The broth was overly salty, the half egg had an odd sweetness to it, and the bamboo shoots were also strangely sweet. The noodles tasted either old or undercooked, which was disappointing. Japanese Tapas right next to Disney! We really Loved the unique Japanese decor on the wall in Susuru. We started off with an order of okonomiyaki to share. Honestly, it was one of the best I have had outside of Japan. Their yakitori (chicken thigh and meatball) are all so flavorful and cooked perfectly. My friend is a ramen snob, so he's really picky about his ramen. He loved the ramen here! He said it's rich in flavor! It took a little time to get a table on a Friday night but was worth it. First off- WOW! The decor is amazing. All of the Japanese knick knacks are so cool and give off such an authentic ambiance. We ordered lots of plates to share for the table including the tori senbei (10/10), a variety of delicious skewers, yuzu corn, and a few others. We also tried two bowls of ramen but my favorite was the chicken ramen. It had a bit of sweetness added to it that made it full bodied and absolutely addicting! Had an awesome time at Susuru! The vibe is fun and the staff is super friendly. The theming is incredible. So many nods to old Japanese animation. I was surprised to see they had Okonomiyaki on the menu which was delicious! My favorite yakitori skewers were the chicken hearts, skin and tsukune (chicken meatball)! The atmosphere was so enjoyable. We arrived just 10 minutes after they opened and only had to wait for 20 minutes, despite being a group of 6 on a Tuesday. The service was friendly and prompt, although there were a few items on the menu that weren't available, including the toy drink toppers for most of their drinks. They don't have set hours and staff wasn't very friendly. Just tried to get seated at 8:15 pm - yelp says they are open until 10 pm, when we asked how long the wait was, we were told they weren't seating anymore. When I asked what time they closed, they said it depends and it's best to call ahead. I was looking forward to trying this place, but probably won't come back. read more

Best ramen and izayakya in the area excellent service and food. Price is reasonable in the area , lots of sake section and authentic Japanese decoration. I favorite dishes are Ck meat ball with mintako sauce, Ck thigh yakitori, otomomiyaki and ramen. It just bring me back to Japan. Plus you can also add uni and ikura to your rice bowl.... that's crazy awesome!!!! read more
