This restaurant is also a ghost kitchen for BowlAzia. The restaurant only had 3 tables, 1 is a 2 top and the other 2 are pushed together to make 4 tops. When you enter you place your order with the cashier. Note on the menu their dishes do not include proteins, you have to add those as extra with an extra cost. We ordered the curry puffs since we read about them in the reviews. I ordered pad see ewe with broccoli on the side to give to my hubby. They use American broccoli here and not Chinese broccoli. Hubby ordered Pad Thai. We also wanted mango sticky rice but they were sold out for the day. We both ordered cups of water which were served in small plastic cups. Asked for lemon slices and received lime slices. The Sriracha and Soy sauce arrived in small packets and they brought us metal plates and silverware. Food came out in a decent amount of time. It's made to order so you do need to wait some. The restaurant was clean and not too noisy. The curry puff was a bit dry inside and not juicy at all. The crust was flaky and crispy and we enjoyed that. We came here at night so maybe if it was earlier in the day it would have tasted better? My Pad Se Ewe tasted good and I appreciated they were able to do the broccoli separately. My hubby liked his Pad Thai as well. The portion sizes were ok and we both finished our plates. If you plan on coming here during lunch or dinner time I imagine you will need to order it to go as it's so small inside. When we got there the first table was full, we took the middle tables and another party of 4 came in and took the last table. If we are in the area and it's not busy we will definitely return. However, if it's busy we will go elsewhere as we would not be able to sit and enjoy our meal there due to lack of seating.

I had the beef salad and updated to the ribeye meat option as the beef is supposed to be more tender. However, the meat didn't taste "more tender". The beef salad was also salty. We also had the tom yum noodle soup and larb salad. Upon looking at the larb salad, you can already tell that it was going to be salty, as other larb salad is not usually that saucy. And sure enough, the larb salad was salty, as well as the tom yum noodle soup. Restaurant itself was relatively small, it had simple decor, parking was easy, and staff were attentive and the overall prices were reasonable. However, the food was way too salty, making it difficult to even finish the meal.

So I am finally writing a review here after having tried this place about 10 times now. I am blown away at the consistency of the food. Always fresh, delicious and perfect. By far the best thai food I have ever had ( and I've tried at least 2 dozen other thai places). I am hooked! the Tum Yum soup is sooo darn good and the pad thai is awesome. I've heard how creative they get with these rolls, and with Purple colored rice I really had to try it... I was pretty indecisive at first, but I settled on their shishito peppers to start and they were nice enough to bring a little side salad out which by the way tasted amazing (I think it's the sumi salad on a small scale). The sauce for the peppers was wonderfully done, it wasn't drenched and I could taste everything with a good balance. The seared yellowtail roll was soft, melted in your mouth and the other roll had Wahoo in it, I'm forgetting the name but both were very neatly presented, and had a burst of flavor. I love this restaurants creativity in their rolls and how they choose to present the taste palate, as a first timer I'll be back a lot more

As a Vietnamese gal living in Placentia, there aren't too many Vietnamese places nearby and sometimes I'm just too lazy to drive to garden grove! But I'm SO glad this is close by cause let me tell you, it is so dang good and comparable to those delicious places in garden grove. In a quaint little complex, the restaurant is pretty roomy and clean. Really enjoyed talking to the owners and workers who were super friendly. Banh mi is one of my favorite Vietnamese foods so I knew I had to try it and chefs kiss! I got the specialty (bánh mì đặc biệt) and there was so much meat in there, amazing flavors. I also got the Vietnamese iced coffee and it was so strong and delicious, just like I like it. My mom got the grilled beef vermicelli (bún bò nướng) and she said the meat was very soft and had a very nice lemongrass flavor. Lots of veggies were provided and she loved that. My dad got the specialty pho (phở đặc biệt) and there was also a lot of meat which he could barely finish and that's a rarity so he loved that as well! The broth was rich and very flavorful. Definitely going to be my go to spot and so happy there's a place close by whenever I'm craving a bánh mì (which is pretty often) ;) Check this place out and I hope you love it as much as I did!!

My mom has always enjoyed banh mi from the big chain, but the big chain has gone down in quality, IMO, so I was ready to venture out to find something new. The photos for the grilled pork sandwich looked amazing, so I went with one of those (extra meat, no jalapeños) and an order of combination fried rice. The sandwich was fantastic and the extra meat made it extra filling, even tho we split it. The fried rice, which had shrimp & Chinese sausage was also very tasty, and adding a bit more soy sauce helped boost the flavor. There was just one young man taking and handing out orders. He was efficient at his job, but definitely not giving off a friendly or welcoming vibe. As I sat waiting for my order, I watched the lady who was preparing the food and she seemed much happier to be there. (In fact, as I left, I thanked her and wished her a good day). The dining room is spacious with plenty of tables and chairs, although the tables definitely could be wiped down a little more thoroughly ~ mine felt like it had a some kind of film on it. So as a fellow Yelper said, the food was excellent but the service wasn't warm and fuzzy. I guess you can't have it all. I will be back, because after all, it's about the food :)

I've probably been to every Thai restaurant in Orange and hands down, Royal Thai Orchid is the best. We ordered spring rolls, yum woon sen salad, garlic chicken (not sure of the name) and coconut ice cream. The spring rolls with shrimp came with a tasty peanut dipping sauce and everything within the rice paper wrap, including the shrimp, was wonderfully fresh. The Yum Woon Sen Salad was absolutely Yummy (sorry, couldn't resist that). It is a salad made with mung bean noodles. The noodles were great and the salad was dressed in a mouthwatering lime dressing. Royal Thai offers a nice array of lunch specials for $12.95. Their lunch special entrees come with a small green salad, a little fruit, and of course, rice. It's a great price for such a delicious lunch! We ordered garlic chicken (not sure of the name) and was not only impressed with how delicious it was, but found that the veggies were perfectly cooked to a tender crisp. Even their lunch specials are beautifully plated. Their coconut ice cream was the best I've ever had. They make it fresh in-house and although they call it ice cream, doing so does not do it justice. The texture is unlike any ice cream I've had; you just have to taste it for yourself. I challenge you to find a $6 desert of this quality anywhere else in Orange. This restaurant has been around since the 80s but took a downturn around the time of the Covid shut downs. The new owners, Sam and Coco (yup, we had to ask), have re-created a terrific little restaurant for lunch or dinner. Give it a try; you won't be disappointed. Just a note: I typically order my Thai food "medium" but I did order the salad as a two out of 5 chilis and that was perfect for me. So if you're in doubt, err on the side of caution and start out with a little less spice.

To start, food was delicious and I can understand that a smaller family business may take longer but it literally took 1hr and 20 min to get all of our food and there was only maybe 2 other couples dining. They did apologize for the wait which is much appreciated but wow that's a long time an we were a little late to the hockey game. If I'm in the area again I'd still try it again. Can't complain about the delicious food :)
