Ok....so 4 stars because the prices are great and because my mani and pedi's have always look very good. I mean $20 for mani/pedi is a steal because the quality of the outcome! Yes the girls that work here can be a little rude, and yes sometimes they make you wait, sometimes its loud, etc. But in my personal experience, for $20 for both mani and pedi, what can you expect?? They also work quickly which is a plus. I've paid more than double that at fancy salons where the outcome of my nails look the same either way. The amount of repeat business they get in here in ridiculous. Everytime I come here, I feel like I always see someone from the last time that was here. That's definitely a plus. The ladies here are all very, very, very good at what they do. And on top of that, the prices here are cheap. Not just reasonable, but cheap. I'm somewhat torn when writing this review. Part of me doesn't want everyone & their mom & dog coming to Suzy's because that will just make the place fill-up even more. But honestly, I owe it to the ladies @ Suzy's because they are an honest business with great service at the right price. Seek services elsewhere! I waited 45 minutes for a pedicure when they told me 15. Then, when I put my feet in the water bowl (not salon chairs) I noticed the utensils and foot scrubber had been thoroughly used before and not disinfected! Gross! This is the closest nail salon (2 minutes walk) so I go here more for convenience than any other reason. They accept walk-ins, are affordable, and the best time to go is just after 10am. Afternoons are often very busy with long waits. It makes no difference if you call in advance for a booking. The vietnamese girls who work there are all very friendly and do a great job. I'm more than happy with Suzy's. $20 for a mani-pedi in LA- you'd be hard pressed to beat that. I've had my cuticles harassed a few times (ugh winter) but overall usually leave very satisfied without hugely denting my bank account. Rude nail technician, her appointment came 10 minutes late. Instead of continuing with my nails, she asked me to go and sit in the waiting area. No variety of colors, most of the polish seemed old. The overall feel of the place is dingy and dirty. I just moved a block away, but would rather go elsewhere. read more

I wouldn't reccomend this place. The lady was rude and she took well over 2 hours on a simple gel French manicure and it doesn't even look good! Its uneven and and mishaped! On top of that it was way over priced! read more

Great for the $20 mani/pedi. It can be hit or miss depending on who you get. The younger girls are better then the older ones which is the opposite of the saying, better with age. I've had better manicures, much better, but I'll continue going for the price. read more

Ouch! I decided to try a new place for a pedicure and really regret it. It's been a few days and my toes still hurt. The woman who did mine dug too hard with super sharp equipment under my toe nails while trimming and prepping. I get pedis all the time and have never had an experience quite like this. Not the fanciest place in town, but I haven't been disappointed so far. Yes it's small, yes their 'spa massage' chair isn't hooked up to it's own water source, and yes the lady in the front (who may be the owner) isn't the most chipper (seems to be more of her natural personality than an unfriendly thing), but the rest of the ladies are. There could be a wait for service if you go at certain peak periods, it's small, I get that. So I'll go on an off day, Tuesday morning, so i'm seated immediately. If I have to have it done on a friday, I know I have to wait. I'm REALLY picky about how I like my pedicures, and they get it right here all the time, and i've gone to many places, and many times I'm disappointed. The prices are very reasonable. read more

WOW...I can't tell you how please I am with this one new Employee. Her name is Mya or Mia. She give me the best service ever. The first time I was there, I was very skeptical because I have tried so many places and most if not all are extremely terrible. I was so overwhelmed by MIA, she is a GOD SENT. She is extremely knowledgeable and caring, she took her time unlike most others places that would rush so they can move on to the next customer. MIA is extremely caring and gentle, she asked all the right question about how you want your nails done. I am extremely picky, but once she finished with just one nail I was speechless. You have got to give it a try. You can all thank me later. read more

you simply don't tell your customer, "can you MOVE?" to sign the receipt ... she must have been the owner's daughter. she's quite young looking, probably early 30s but i overheard her tell this one lady she has 2 kids, has broken engrish accent going on.... now i KNOW this had to be suzy. she was the oldest woman there. i walked in with this 50+ lady. we actually both rushed in hopefully trying to be the nxt runner up.. if you know me, i MADE an appt... bkgd info: i have an event to attend tonite, called around for the closest and the one that would take me in at around 11. i get there by 1110, and that lady i was teling you about also says, "i called, remember?" AFTER i said it, simply when she said, "HI" upon walking in.. LIAR! but the old lady took her before me. keep in mind, even tho i HAD an appt, i had to wait 40mins. why bother makin appts? read more

Really terrible mani. The shape of the nails were filed unevenly, the polish was unevenly applied.

DO NOT GO THERE!!! I REPEAT DO NOT GO THERE!!! Horrible service.... they make you wait, cut your cuticles and steal from you. I had left my $800 accessory in the wax room, because the lady who was waxing me told me to put it down. and I was the last person to step out of the salon while they were closing. As I was walking to my car I realized I had left it in their while laying down. I went back and saw the owner and the wax lady drive off. I was there first thing in the morning before they opened and they said... OH WE DONT HAVE IT... I am 100% sure I left my accessory there. it was only the owner and that one girl there after me who closed. early morning the had it all set-up with lies and telling me see we keep customer items and showing me funny accessories worth 1-5$. they are stealers, keep your stuff by you. The owner said I don't have it, and the other lady said we had a customer before you in the morning,.. how is that possible was there prior to you opening, I saw you open? I just went to this place for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised! Now, it's definitely a no frills spot but for $20 for a mani/pedi I think I can deal. I wasn't as comfortable since I just had to sit in a chair with a portable foot sink in front of me but they overall did a really nice job and were very friendly! I'll definitely be back! read more

Great price! Good for your basic mani/pedi. But I would go somewhere else if you're looking for a great/specialty pedicure or a spa experience. Definitely the place to go if you want pretty nails at a cheap price. Also--they were fast when I've been in--which is a plus! read more

The prices are amazing and even though it's super inexpensive they always take the time to do a great job. Also the staff is always friendly and they can get you in and out of there extremely fast if you're in a hurry. I've definitely snuck in a mani pedi on a lunch break here before. :) read more

Been here one and a half times. (I say "half" because I waited aaround and then had to walk out). Dirty, no atmosphere, rude staff. They kept me waiting for 30 minutes, and kept telling me, oh just one more minute. Right when they were putting me in the chair, some woman walked in off the street and they took here instead. They have a $25 minimum for credits cards; anything under and they charge a buck (yes, I know I sound cheap, but seriously). Pardon my french but eff those biotches. read more

I've had quite a few mani/pedis and I'm not usually one to complain, but I was so incredibly frustrated after leaving this place that I felt like I should say something. I've actually come here a few times and it's a pretty cheap price for mani gel and pedi, but it's always been a decent job. Nothing too special, but never like this. I got there at 9:15am (two other customers in there) and they told me a 5 min wait. 30 min later she put me in a chair and after me telling her that I only had nail polish on she kept trying to have me soak my nails in that gross gel solution. I told her it was just nail polish 3 times and finally she got it. So I waited for another 10 min in the chair. Finally I had one of the ladies start on my hands. She picked around my nails pretty rough, but I've had worse. Then when she went to go find my gel color polish, she said they mismarked the nail and she can't find the color. So, she tried to have me use the color that matched the number, which was not even close to the color I originally wanted. So, she started bringing me all these random colors, like this one's nice and whatnot. I had her bring the whole thing over just to make it easier. I picked one and she started painting. The UV light box that you put your hand in had lights hanging down in it, just pretty beat up. She finished painting and after everything dried I looked at my nails and... She missed the sides of 4 or 5 of my nails, she literally painted my nails shut to my fingers (all of them), one of my index fingernails has bumps in it, and there was dried polish left around my nails. Lastly when I went to pay she told me the total, I gave her my card and I told her to put a specific amount on it for the tip and I guess she's not great at math, but said the new total and it was almost double the tip I had left. So, I corrected her there, but anyway, like I said I'm not normally one to complain, but this was such a frustrating experience I wouldn't recommend to anyone and I will not be going back. P.S. By far, one of the worst experiences I've had at a salon. I'm new to Los Angeles and I've tried looking for a new place to get my nails done every other week. My first impression of the place was very underwhelming. The salon is outdated and very dirty looking. The air is stale and there is dust everywhere. I went in for a typical fill and gel manicure. My nails were shaped unevenly and the gel nail polish dried strangely under the light. It rippled and became lumpy. I have NEVER had a gel manicure have that type of effect. On top of all of that, it took them two and a half hours to do my nails. At any other place I've gone to, it typically takes forty five minutes to an hour at the most. I was already pressed for time at that point and gave up on asking for them to repair my nails. To end the experience on an even worst note, it was severely overpriced at fifty dollars! I've gone to nicer salons for half the price, time, and double the quality. read more
