We decided to have lunch here because we saw a long line and figured it must be great! Welp, this pitaya bowl was delicious, but everything else lacked flavor! Nothing had salt! I ordered the tuna melt - no flavor. My daughter ordered the a verde wrap - no flavor! My other daughter ordered the $25 shrimp tacos, and the only thing you could taste were the grilled onions and grilled peppers, that's it! The clam chowder was NOT GOOD. I'm going to be honest, I'm not really into the whole "paying before you eat". Having to get up and order another this or that, just seems off to me. Besides that, this place is nice and modern. Me and my daughter both ordered the chilaquiles (they were okay). I loved the Mexican mocha because it's made with abuelita chocolate which is such a Mexican staple. My daughter offered the mucho mango smoothie, it was really bland. The bathroom setup is nice and clean. I would come back here to try something else on the menu. read more

The people here are awesome and always the best customer service. My sister and I are regulars and they treat us like family every time we come. The food is always prepared with care at the highest quality of ingredients and comes out quickly. The atmosphere is always entertaining because you never know who will drive by or walk by on the Coast. Dya especially is a sweetheart and takes the time out to get to you. This place never fails.. you wait in a line to order and get a number and seat yourself. The food is brought out to you. Not much interaction with the staff but the lady who took our order was friendly. This place has tons of seating, the best being outside on their patio (if the weather gives). I got the tuna salad wrap with a side of fruit. It was decent, pretty big wrap and definitely enough for 2 meals. The sprouts inside them were old but at least the fruit were fresh. We also got the black egg burrito which came with a crap ton of black beans. The house potatoes were flavorful but not crispy in the slightest. The watermelon mimosas were smaller than pictured on yelp..at least they tasted good. Overall, this spot shines in its huge menu options and beautiful patio seating. Out of all the Swamis I've been to, the one in Oceanside brings out your order the fastest. This spot is really nice too and I love how it's decorated. My only complaint would be that the food needs more salt. Thank god I had some on my table because it looked good but tasted quite bland or had no seasoning really. read more

Tried looking for a breakfast place in Oceanside and we were intrigued by the outside line at this place. However, this is a "order, pay first" at the cashier and sit down - so, that's why there is usually a long line outside. The food was COLD COLD COLD by the time it was brought to our table. If you like cold food, great. If you don't, don't even bother coming. We had to send back our food to get heated and sure it was just microwaved for 30sec cause it was still cold on return. The food I had was pretty bad and I paid $17 with tip... Got a vegan mexican breakfast burrito. Was more like a hot water burrito. The first time I picked it up, it came completely apart and a ton of liquid came out. I'm guessing that they didn't press the tofu and remove the water properly before cooking. Super disappointing. Could've made it better at home for a fraction of the price. At least the hashbrowns were pretty good. read more

This place is great if you get there right when they open at 7am. The food is fresh and hot and the service is quick. The French toast and potatoes are good. We usually just order coffee because if you want juice it'll cost you nearly $10. And it's already almost $50 just for two people to eat a basic meal here (for a place where you order at the counter and only see an employee when they drop it off at your table). But every time I've come later than that, there's a line going out the door, the coffee is empty (you fill the cup yourself), and the food is dry and cold, so I'm pretty sure they cook everything when they first get there and then let it sit for hours and reheat. I'm not sure what else would explain how drastically different the quality is within a couple hours. Be warned that there are cockroaches by the bathroom area. They keep it dark over there, and I've had some jump scares when I turned the corner and saw roaches hanging out in the dark corner. There are also mystery smears/stains on the women's bathroom walls that have been there for months. So overall I'm not sure how sanitary this place is. read more

Swami's Cafe food on their menu is very delicious. I ate at this restaurant twice sometime in November of 2021. I enjoyed eating their Cali. Wrap and the Sweet Potato Fries, I also ordered the Acai Fruit Bowl that included: sweet strawberries, blueberries, pieces of pineapple, bee pollen, Acai and a really generous serving of coconut. All of these fresh fruits was really delicious. I also ordered the Chai Coffee. I received this Chai Coffee in a HUGE Cup. This was my first time drinking Chai Coffee it has a really good flavor to it. I would order it again sometime because I liked it very much. My second visit to this Swami's Cafe, I ordered the Salmon Wrap that has sliced Avocados, Sauteed Spinach, and Veggies infused in this wrap sandwich and in a Wheat Tortilla. I love Salmon and their Salmon was cooked to perfection and it was very flavorful. I also ordered the Sweet Potato Fries to go with my Salmon Wrap. These Sweet Potato Fries has a lightly sweet flavor on the inside with a crispy exterior. For my dessert I ordered the Fruit Bowl this includes: (sweet watermelon, cantaloupe, melon, pineapple, blueberries and strawberries). This Fruit Bowl was a very delicious combination. I also requested the Berry Smoothie that has (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and apple juice). This was also a very healthy beverage for my lunch time meal. Everything I ate on those two visits the food was very good! It felt great for me to be eating really healthy food on their menu. Because Swami's Cafe only serves healthy foods that are low in calories. read more

Came here a couple weeks ago for a lunch meeting. It's the type of place where you order at the counter and then sit down which is fine. The design is just interesting because the counter is right when you walk in so everyone has to line up outside to order. It makes it seem like there's a huge wait but really it might just be a few people in front of your to order. Just something to keep in mind. Cute ambiance and atmosphere - half indoor and outdoor. Large menu with lots of choices. I got the turkey croissant sandwich with sweet potato fries. I took a star off because the person I was with ordered sweet potato fries as well and got regular fries. Also thought he was getting an actual tuna sandwich when he ordered the albacore tuna sandwich but it turned out to be a tuna SALAD sandwich. Other than that - great casual lunch spot! read more

This was my first time here. I have to say it was pretty good. We came early Saturday morning around 9am. Glad we came early, because there is limited parking. Plus we beat the crowd. You have to order first then grab your seat. We found a seat easily only because we came early. The food came out quick! The food was hot & tasty. The veggie omelette was good and hot. The potatoes were well cooked. And portions were generous. The service was good for bringing the food out quickly. My comment would be it's a little weird to order and the register and prompt for tip before you have received any service, especially with the self service drinks and containers to go. I realize there are people cooking in the back as well but the front service is more quasi self serve. That being said I would go back again. I used to love Swamis for the quality of the food, but that has changed. They have cut so many corners to save money that the food is no longer as described on the menu. For example, the claim chowder and chicken tortilla soups are now 80% potatoes. Yes. The chicken tortilla soup is now potato soup with a little chicken and a couple of tortilla chips on top. I spoke with an Oceanside manager who stated that every chef was allowed to use his own recipe. Really? Also, when you pay at the front register, you are required to choose a 20% tip or higher, or none at all. What happened to 15%? Surely 2 minutes with a cashier and 30 seconds with a server does not amount to 20%, in addition to drastically increased minimum wage. I no longer recommend Swamis. read more

I've been to many Swami's locations but this one is my favorite. I wished they still served dinner because the Airplane Chicken was so good. Honestly out of all the locations, this place knows how to make an Açaí or Pitaya Bowl the best! Try to get here early cause they get packed pretty fast and parking sucks but the side streets are your friend. read more

To be fair, we ordered using DoorDash so I can't speak to service but I can speak to flavor. I had the Oceanside Omelet and while it was delicious, it was loaded with jalapeños that I had to pick out. There was nothing in the description on DD that shared what was included in the omelet but it had a picture so I wasn't ordering completely blind. Another important thing to note about this menu item is that it has shrimp in it. Having descriptions of menu items is incredibly important because so many people have food allergies...some of which can put people in the hospital. If you're the owner, I hope you see this review and take a moment to update or cancel your DD partnership until this can be updated for your customers. read more

Overall, this place is seriously overrated. My latte was pretty good, but too sweet (and I took the whip cream off too). The scramble was bad, undercooked potatoes and the salsa had no flavor. The omelette had an odd taste to it, lack of seasoning. The toast was way to toasted it looked almost burnt. The lines are always long too. I asked the server if she could give me a gift card because I didn't even eat much of my meal and her response was "we don't have gift cards." She offered me a smoothie, but after the low quality I saw with my meal, I didn't even want the smoothie. I wont be back here. read more

My family came here for a weekend brunch & needless to say will not be coming back ever. You have to order before sitting down so there's no actual table service. Everything is basically do it yourself that includes getting your own drinks and sauce as well as to go containers.The worst part is when I went up to get my family's drinks and the drinking station was the worst thing I've seen in a restaurant in a longtime. MOLD just all over the drink station. It was so dirty we didn't drink any of the waters we got. I even anticipated on telling my husband we should cancel the food and leave by how disgusted I was. It literally took a worker to notice I was taking pictures to get up and actually scrub it which is pretty gross if you ask me. idk how this place hasn't been hit up by the health inspectors. The food was bland and mine came back so overcooked and hard I just asked for a refund. The restaurant is pretty gross and dirty makes you feel like you're at a bad restaurant in downtown LA.
