Foods great, but service is a little scarce... we ordered ham & ham omelet They brought it out literally just as soon as we placed our order. It was delicious and enough food for us to split. But.....we never saw our waiter again until checkout. We waved down a waitress for some salt & pepper. Usually there is a line on weekends but the food is so worthy. They just opened indoors and need to work on organizing, boxes and stuff everywhere except the 2 tables they were serving on. Also need to find a different spot to take outside orders, people blocking our table the entire time we were eating. Mask are required, they' are working at trying to keep everyone safe & still serve their customer. Parking is behind the restaurant. We will give lunch a try next time hopefully a slower pace for the staff. read more

This was an unexpected find in Carlsbad. I was happy to find ample seating and generous portions, but best of all, they cooked my bacon exactly as I like it! Their over-easy eggs and fried potatoes made for a great combination, and the service was top-notch! I had to check the other Yelp reviews to see if this was a fluke, and it seems to be the rule, not the exception. Try this place out for a Sunday breakfast. There were plenty of families there, enjoying the casual atmosphere and delicious food. read more

A beautiful new location located along PCH. There is plenty of outdoor seating and indoor seating too if you prefer. The menu is standard Swamis, and the food came out quick and hot. The coffee bar here is not self-service unfortunately, but the swamis is Encinitas and Oceanside nearby can offer this. The atmosphere is welcoming and staff are friendly. read more

My husband and I have been coming to this restaurant for many years. We have appreciated the wonderful staff and good food. The prices, however, have gone up so high, and higher than comparable restaurants in the area. Every change is a price add on. The portions also have changed. They used to be very generous and are not so now. After so many years, and frequenting Carlsbads and Encinitas Swamis, I doubt I will be going back. Sad really. read more

Check you bill! I purchased a $9.95 cheeseburger from swami's it was nothing special but I would expect that for $9.95. When I got the bill I was charged $11.99. I pointed this out to the very nice waitress and she Tried to correct it. But it was necessary to deal with a rather rude manager for her to correct it since it was incorrect in their computer. He gave me a discount on the bill of $1.30 this does not bring it down to the price on the menu at $9.95. I honestly wonder if they do this with other items on the menu? I feel they should charge you what the prices on the menu Shows it's going to cost? This is all of course before taxes. So caution check your bill! read more

Great place for a meaty breakfast. This is one of my go to spots for a casual brunch / breakfast in Carlsbad and every location throughout has proven to be consistent in terms of quality, menu, and service. I always get the El Paso benny and smother it in Chalula sauce. If bennies are your thing, this is the place for you. read more

OMG...you have to come try this place!! A friend of mine recommended that we come here while staying in Carlsbad and that is exactly what we did. We didn't have a reservation (they didn't take them), so we were a bit worried showing up for Sunday brunch with our dog and a party of 4 hoping to get a seat. Parking is somewhat tight given this place is on a busy road, so I would recommend you drop someone in your party off to put their name down and then go park. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised that the line was not too long...maybe 5 groups ahead of us. Soon after (very soon as in 15 mins) we were seated! We got an awesome spot where our dog had lots of room :) From start to finish, our experience here was off the charts. Our waitress was so friendly and made our brunch 5/5. She worked with me on making a smoothie without any added sugar by subbing out the apple juice concentrate for a more fresh option. Additionally, she worked with me on my side salad that I could eat with my dietary restrictions. My mom went with a Mexican scramble, my brother got a chicken sandwich, and my dad got a breakfast burger. The breakfast burger was HUGE!! 2 eggs, a burger patty, bacon, all on a sourdough bread. I just finished up breakfast here. I got the Belgian waffle with strawberries & I chose to make it a meal. Overall, my experience was lackluster. The matcha I ordered was awful; it was mostly milk with clumps of matcha at the bottom. I paid $44 and some change for it, and I will say that it was just not worth what I paid at all. I've never left a food establishment as disappointed as I have today. I hoped for a better experience, but it just left me unsatisfied and still feeling hungry, but unable to eat more food elsewhere because of the fact I already ate unflavorful food at Swami's. My advice is to choose a different spot to eat at. This place is not good. read more

Coming from someone who has lived in carlsbad our whole lives. This is my favorite breakfast in carlsbad. Any occasion, holiday, or friends visiting this is where i choose to bring everyone. The best part is seeing Louis our server for the past 3 years. Louis is the best; he is kind, patient, attentive, and just an amazing server and person! Very delicious food and great service. We had the Belgian waffle which was one of the best I have ever tasted, crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside topped with strawberries. I take out from here all the time (shout out the smoothies and chicken caesar wraps) and the people are all so so nice and so helpful. When I was waiting for my ride to come back and scoop me up, they let me sit inside at an open table because it was cold and wet out :,) . Went here for Mother's Day brunch! It's not super fancy, but the food and location is almost impossible to beat. The bloody Mary's were strong and tasty!!! There were so many things I wanted to try, but I ended up getting a veggie sandwich, clam chowder, and French fries. I split my sandwich with my dad and had one of his fish tacos (when I go back, I'd definitely order that). The bill was super modest. There were 7 of us and it was under $200 all getting drinks and things. My husband got a chipotle type eggs Benedict that he couldn't stop talking about. The food here is the real deal. Cute little spot! Busy, but not a super long wait time. Staff was very friendly which is always a plus. I had the multi grain pancakes with fresh strawberries and made it a meal with eggs and bacon. The pancakes were pretty fluffy for being multi grain and very filling. Our first time at this location and I want to start off by saying that the experience was made complete by our server, Celine. She was an absolute ray of sunshine! She was professional, personable, knowledgeable, and attentive. Set up at this location is unique. You can sit indoors, on the patio, or there are a few tables set-up along the sidewalk which is so nice when you want to enjoy the sun. I ordered a basic caesar salad and it came complete with seasoned crispy buttered toast, cucumber slices- everything was fresh! My husband ordered a burger and it came out as requested. The fries were also a delight (my favorite) and some ranch on the side- I was a happy lady! We also really loved the 80's music vibe between some alternative and classic rock. I reckon the beach is just only a couple of blocks from here. Likely an easy walk. Will definitely return! read more

This place is taking extra precaution by following the statewide mandated covid 19 reopening for restaurants. there is ample seating with social distancing 6ft apart of course. So keep that in mind if you get one of the last reservations; lingering with a friend might be a bit challenging. But we had a great time, and I especially enjoyed the summer porridge. I'll definitely come again (and know I should make a reservation) - but it's probably better to come earlier before they run out of anything & before we're in their way while they're cleaning up! Unfortunately, that's where our positive experience ended. The restaurant was extremely busy, and it took quite a while before our server came to greet us. We were able to order waters, but even those took a long time to arrive. After another long wait, we finally ordered our appetizers. Our original server, who I believe said her name was Noemi or Naomi, came across as overwhelmed, stressed, and like she didn't enjoy her job. While I understand restaurants get busy, her attitude made us feel like we were an inconvenience. She wasn't very attentive, especially to our kids, who had been at Legoland all day and were extremely hungry. She never came back to take their food order, and we found ourselves waiting longer and longer without any communication. Eventually, another server took over our table. She was incredibly kind, friendly, and apologetic. We explained that we had already been waiting a long time and just wanted to place our food order to go so we could get our hungry kids back to the hotel. She handled the situation professionally and did her best to help, which we truly appreciated. If you're dining with young children, I'd keep in mind that service may not be the best fit if your family needs an attentive server or timely service. Waiting extended periods without updates can be especially difficult for tired, hungry kids. It's disappointing because the restaurant itself seemed nice, and the hostess and second server were both wonderful. Unfortunately, the experience with our original server left a bad impression. While I understand busy nights happen, the lack of attentiveness and communication made for a frustrating experience, and because of that, I don't think we'll be returning.

Out of all the delicious and cute little healthy restaurants in north county San Diego Swamis Carlsbad is my absolute favorite!! The food is five Star. The location is five Star. The service is 10 star! Luis is my favorite waiter. He's so warm and friendly and has become like a friend! I always order the açai bowl because it's the best açai bowl I've ever had and I'm telling you I order this bowl at every restaurant that offers it. Even when I travel to other states and go to very highly rated vegan restaurants their bowl doesn't even compare to swamis açai bowl. Luis even recommended me adding peanut butter to the spa which I had no idea I could do. It just took it to a new level for me! I highly recommend this restaurant for the food and service. However, I have been here about 10 times since then, most recent being this morning, and I must say... 1 Star is an overstatement. Besides the lack of friendly service, the food is sub-par. I tend to come here every other week to get a Watermelon Smoothie... My smoothie today tasted like they didn't clean the blender before making my drink; it had a taste of some other fruit mixed in with the watermelon. The service is SLOW... Service is bad... I am a regular at Swamis in carlsbad. I've been to the other Swamis in encinitas and in oceanside they're nice but I'm not a fan of counter service because I don't feel you get as good service. I finally decided it was time to wright a review because everyone I know and bring there loves the place and I don't think thy're getting the credit they diserve. The servers are wonderful, the food is amazing and the fact that they have a huge dog friendly patio is the icing on the cake. Came here with my brother, sister in-law and nephew to have a decent breakfast. I have been living in San Diego for 2 years and have experienced more racism just walking into this restaurant than I have living. As soon as we walked up we knew it was off when we got the stares from the white folks. It's a damn shame you can't even show your family a good time while their on a vacation because you serve ignorant ass people like the entire restaurant that had to just turn to stare.... I was totally surprised by the menu. I thought this was exclusively vegetarian. It is not. Although you will find a nice selection of tasty vegetarian meals. I did have the vegetable stir fry which was lightly topped with curry powder and I thought it was very good especially considering it was meatless. My date had the kobe beef burger which was very reasonably priced and one of the best burgers in town. Great people watching on the main coast drag. Unfortunately, the kids' food here felt like an afterthought, lacking the care and quality I would expect. It is on Postmates and offered free delivery. I've now had a terrific breakfast delivered twice from them. What I like most is that their breakfast burritos don't have bacon or ham in them. Just eggs and veggies. I am sure the place isn't Kosher certified, but it is the closest thing I can get which won't ham me! Their juices are also really good they make the perfect follow up to my morning coffee. read more

Please tell me they're tested for lead. 80% of their cups had this. They put a plant below the water fountain, i suspect they know people will dump the water and its cheaper than replacing their cups.

The mozzarella cheese when melted leaks oil, but when added to the pesto and the olive oil they use it made the crepe soggy. I did explain the situation, and they said they understood but did not offer to do anything. For a nearly $19 crepe I would have expected better. The musubi was made fresh to order, and easily some of the best I've had. You can really tell they care about the quality of their food. The staff were super friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in. It's the kind of local café and lounge that makes you want to come back again and again. If you're in Oceanside and looking for excellent coffee, tasty food, and a comfortable place to spend some time, Brown Cup is absolutely worth a visit. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town.
