Perfection! My family and I visited Swamis for brunch and were extremely satisfied. The venue itself is aesthetically pleasing. We walked towards the doors and were immediately greeted and asked if we'd prefer to sit indoors or outdoors. After selecting our table we sat down and read through their very full menu. My husband and I plate watched as every order looked delectable. I must say the eggs Benedict are very popular and could be seen on everyone's plate. I opted for the banana walnut pancakes which were rich, fresh and tasty. The pancakes paired with eggs over medium and turkey bacon were the perfect combination. My husband ordered the French toast with bacon and scrambled eggs. He was extremely happy with his order. Our cousin ordered the green omelette with extra chicken sausage and let's just say that omelette didn't stand a chance! For my 3 year old we ordered sides: scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, chicken sausage and bacon. She enjoyed her food and had us wait until she finished the last bite. Seems like all Swami's are independently operated and managed as the menus, however similar, seem to be executed differently and have local (to the particular location) and different menu items available. Today's Corned Beef Benedict was not only a fresh twist to the Swami's menu, but the very good house-made corned beef was cut much larger than our last visit at the Vista location, but I don't recall a Benedict of sort on any of the Swami's menus. A very good execution of the poached eggs, hollandaise sauce atop a mound of flavorful and textured corned beef, accompanied by some pretty awesome country potatoes. Hash browns were not an option afforded this location today. Good food and a peaceful Tuesday morning atmosphere. We got nothing done except for filling the food gap and our morning delay. I've been to this restaurant ALOT. Which is why it breaks my heart to write this. I sat outside at brunch in early September. There were too many flies that I literally could not eat in peace. I had to always wave my hand to assure they didn't land on my food. At one point, one landed in my mimosa (which they comped and replaced but still). They need to hang some fly strips or something. I was told the restaurant had a great pastrami sandwich so I tried it out. Must have been an off day for them because I got the worst pastrami sandwich ever. The bread was toasted well but the meat was more fat and gristle than anything. It was like trying to eat a balled up rubber band. The waitress didn't seem to care when I brought it to her attention so I just ate the side salad. I don't send things back and she didn't offer to adjust the bill. The food was fair, cold decaf coffee, cold gluten free pancake (costs $1.00 more), a side of eggs and bacon. Actually, the whole meal was cold. I had to ask for preserves or syrup for the pancake, eggs and bacon to be re-heated. The service was okay; and they did send all back to the kitchen. Not really certain I will go back again. Every time I've been to any of the locations I loved the food, loved the selection and was pleased by the views and decor.

This was such a great lunch spot that my fiancée and I found while we were visiting San Diego. Our servers were super nice and friendly and our food was fresh and filling. I would happily come back here again the next time we visit. I started my lunch off with the Indian curry soup and the tropical storm smoothie. Both were phenomenal. The blended lentils in the soup were nice and velvety smooth, while the curry taste came out both apparent and perfectly balanced with the other tastes and textures. It was super enjoyable. The smoothie was very strong with the pineapple flavor (which I love) and the toasted coconut added a really nice chew that complemented the taste very well. Finally, for my main, I had the ultimate veggie sandwich. Man, this sandwich is huge! It's loaded with fresh veggies, delicious avocado, basil dressing, and Swiss cheese. Between the cheese, avocado, dressing and I threw a bit of Cholula on it, it developed a nice creamy texture with a small dash of heat. it was like eating an amazing salad in between two slices of a nice toasted bread. The only minor complaint I had is that they put broccoli florets on it, which were really big in between the toast and kept falling out. It would probably be more enjoyable if they finely riced it, added some salt, pepper, lemon juice and butter to make more of a broccoli spread that will stay on the sandwich, as well as add some more fresh flavors. This is a great spot to grab a light, healthy meal that I would definitely recommend checking out. I'm sure I'll be back. read more

I was just thinking its a normal American food place, but when I got there and tried few things from the menu and I was so impressed by how amazing everything was. Service was beyond outstanding. I tried fresh Orange juice, I think one of the best fresh orange juice I have ever had. I also had clam chowder, honestly one of the best and not even exaggerating. IT was AMAZINGGGGGG. i dont know what it had but it was beyond what I had expected. The server recommended this soup, it was a bit cold outside so this was perfect. Another fantastic and delicious find in our new community! A huge breakfast and lunch menu that includes vegetarian and vegan options!!!! I had the asparagus/spinach omelette w/egg whites and it was scrumptious! Hubby had the lobster omelette w/egg whites and it was out of this world delicious. Our waitstaff was Melissa, we must say she is one of the best!!! We let her know it was our first time so she was patient and provided us with all they had to offer for vegans and occasional pescatarians, like us!!! The place is big and has ample outside seating. Service is great just based on the hostess who sat us and Melissa's welcoming demeanor! Parking was a bit of an issue but it was a Sunday so it may be just this time of the week...we had to park around the block (but it's so good that's probably reason for difficulty in finding parking). Ok, so it all started out as a 5 star review. I came here on a weekday with a friend for lunch. I ordered a turkey avocado sandwich with gluten free bread and a side of fruit. I love that they have gluten free options. The service was quick and our server was very friendly and I really liked our experience. The food was also good. Fast forward 3 hours, my stomach is starting to hurt. I cannot eat anything else because I feel abnormally full and the ache is worsening. After 2 hours of feeling this way, enter the worst food poisoning I've ever experienced. Like the up all night, have to sleep on the bathroom floor close to the toilet kind of food poisoning. I mean I get it, sometimes it happens I suppose. But after talking to a friend she tells me that her mom got food poisoning from this same exact location like 3 weeks prior and it was so bad she was hospitalized! That makes me wonder what is going on here when it happens to someone 3 weeks apart, I don't think its safe to eat here. Unfortunately, I will not be back, like never again. read more

I was already a fan of a couple of their other locations when I got a Yelp Elite Week invitation time try out the new Escondido location. It was after coming off of the night shift at the local hospital and my brain and body were dead-tired and ready for some fueling. I decided to make it a work breakfast and invited a friend to discuss some business. Parking was a cinch with plenty available right in front and immediately on walking in, I saw how beautiful the inside is! I love the wood and greenery theme! The service was impeccable! Immediately we were greeted, seated, given menus, and asked for drinks. The servers were all very attentive and the food was EXACTLY what I needed - filling and delicious! I ordered the Lobster Benedict with a side of potatoes and my friend ordered the Avocado Florentine Benedict with a side of fruit. (I went for heavy and indulgent while she went for light and healthy.) it was delicious and cooked perfectly! On my way to the restroom, I noticed the full bar that was open in the early morning! This is GOLD to a night-shifter that wants both breakfast and a drink after a hard night at work. I'll be sure to bring coworkers here after a hard shift to enjoy a drink and amazing food! Came to this cafe for the first time with a friend. I heard this is a new location. Tip: if you can't find street parking, there is a small parking lot beside the cafe. You're welcome! Love the fact that I can just get my coffee since I like my coffee just black. But if you're looking for a cafe with more fancy caffeine concoctions, this place does not have what your heart desires. I ordered their California vegetarian sandwich (not the actual name because my memory doesn't serve me well) and it was delicious. I had it with a 1/2 serving of the chicken tortilla soup in search for a warm hug in my belly. After all, it was a very rainy day in San Diego. But my soup was maybe just a tad bit warmer than the room temperature when served so it got cold very quickly. Nonetheless, the food tasted like it was made with fresh ingredients.
