Oh lovely day in Lower Eastside Manhattan. I 1st heard about Sweet Chick when I watched Nas (Nasir Jones) do an interview on a daytime talk show and he spoke about being an investor for this business and how yum it was. I figured, if Nas believed in this place enough to invest in, let me go invest in it too. Well hunny, it was a great investment! They were a little busy when we arrived, we were quoted 30 minutes for a table for 2. Aint no way I was leaving! That 30 minutes turned into 19 minutes and I was elated. The atmosphere was cool. Outdoor seating as well as indoor seating offered. Great dining space, a little small but does what we need it to do. Eclectic décor w mismatched chairs, super cool back wall mural, clean bathrooms and good music playing on overhead. I already looked at the menu in advance and knew what I wanted to order. My husband needed to find what he wanted. Although I was a little thrown off about having to order my food and send it in from the table QR as if I was home, it worked. I ordered my food and a beverage and was able to tip through that QR code thing. Guess it's not so bad after all! I love the way they have the condiments set up on the table. They literally put everything you could possibly need on the table in a cutesy metal pale so you don't have to ask for anything. The food came out within 10 minutes! My drink came out even sooner! And it was good! I guess I should go ahead and let you know what we got and what we thought. We ordered the following. Classic Fried Chicken & Fries - Absolutely delicious. No one takes you're order. Someone will bring you're drinks and someone will bring you're food. 2. When you finish eating you leave. Since you pay online, there's no check at the end or anything to wait for. 3. If you want more drinks you order again via the QR or try at the bar 4. Weekends there is a wait for a table. Chicken and waffles is popular for brunch. 5. Be mindful that you're food comes out all at once. So if you order something to graze on as an appetizer, it may be too much food since everything delivered at once. The chicken is juicy and perfectly crispy outside. Give the flavored butter a try. Time for an update! Times have changed a lot in the last few years but one thing that has NOT changed is the amazing flavor at Sweet Chick in NYC! I have been to the locations in LIC and Williamsburg, but the LES will always have my heart! Was in the area and had an impromptu lunch here with my husband this morning. We were lucky enough to find a parking space right across the street and there was no wait bc they had just opened for 20 minutes. It is a no waiter service so you seat yourselves, scan the QR code on the table and get your own cups of water at the bar. You have to pay/ tip in advance to place your order. This was my first time at the Ludlow Street location, and it was fantastic. The spacious setting made Saturday brunch enjoyable without feeling crowded. The music was just right--enough to set the vibe without drowning out conversations. As expected, the food was delicious. I went for the chicken and waffles with lemon pepper boneless chicken and apple cinnamon waffles--a definite hit. And, of course, I couldn't pass up the Mac and cheese. Sitting at the bar, we indulged in several rounds of drinks, and I stuck with the "Queen of New York." What truly elevated this dining experience was the bartender, Alljanhi. While bartenders are expected to be friendly, Alljanhi exceeded expectations. She's one of the best I've encountered in my 11 years in New York City. Every drink she made was perfect, and she consistently checked on us, all while attending to other customers. Alljanhi's bubbly personality added to the experience, making her a joy to chat with. This kind of kept it nice when you wanted to just pay/order separately and didn't have to think about splitting the bill later. I remember not too long ago, there was a debate as to who had the better chicken sandwich - Popeyes or Chick-fil-A (let's face it, Chick-fil-A is better)? Well, I'm here to say that neither comes close to Sweet Chick. The chicken here was nice and crispy and combined with the herbed mayo, it was one of the best chicken sandwich I ever had! But this is a tough restaurant to rate for me. As great as the fried chicken sandwich was, the restaurant was filthy and rowdy. Should set it up for apple/google/samsung pay already or something Had the classic lil chicken and waffles with a can of Road Less traveled canned beer. It came with honey on the chicken already, but you had to add your own hot sauce that came in packets. Careful with the packets, make sure they're open all the way before squeezing them. I did not do that and spray hot sauce all over my shirt and jeans. The food was fantastic, reminds of me a modern and upgraded version of Roscoe's Chicken N Waffles in Long Beach.
