I really wanted to like this spot because of its convenient location, but unfortunately the food just was not up to par. It's a bit difficult to find the entrance as the pin on the map is incorrect so you have to walk around a lot. The service is great and extremely helpful and attentive. The food itself is extremely bland. There's no seasoning on anything, the rice is very plain and feels old and there's no sauce to go on anything. I probably came in at the worst time possible during the grubhub free lunch day. There were about 15 people waiting for their food orders when I walked in for my reserved pickup order. They were way behind like at least 50 orders deep behind because she handed me the stack of receipts to find my order after I already waited 15 minutes inside the store. I felt horrible for the one employee. This place needs at least two at a bare minimum during lunch hours. Also, they need to be stocked and prepared better for a day like this because they ran out of a lot of product by 1pm. There was no white rice and ponzu sauce. I think they were running low on brown rice because I barely got any in my insanely small sized poke bowl (the triple threat), which if I were legitimately paying $13 for I would be beyond pissed. That's a lot of money for a small bowl of food that wasn't even filled up. The rice was dry and bad to begin with. Should have just gone with the Big Kahuna. My gut was telling me to do so and I changed the order. The fish tasted just fine. I wasn't blown away and it could have been because the restaurant was about 100 degrees inside on a 70 degree day. Again, felt terrible for the only woman slaving away and she was so kind and efficient slamming those bowls together. Something just needs to change at a management level. Not a great poke spot. I used to work by a sweetcatch and was so excited to see they have a location by my home. A friend from Hawaii originally recommended them as they are one of the very few places in NYC making authentic Poke. (You are supposed to marinate the fish not just pour Spicy Mayo over the top!!) She was completely right and I have never had something I didn't love. This location also has the friendliest staff. My only wish is it was open on weekends! they need a little more than just poke. i like that this place isn't crowded- but they did just open. the prices are super high, but it's not uncommon for this area. i wish them the best of luck, but i am hoping for more choices than just a poke bowl. i want nachos, i want dumplings, i want sides, i want more sauces i want more and more. the staff here are super nice and help you make up your indecisive mind. i had trouble trying to select a combination. i asked for their opinion and i love it when people actually EAT the food and can give their thumbs up or thumbs with a wag (when you hate it, but you don't want to scare the customers away... lol). go for their suggested combos- i was happy with my meal! read more

I actually really enjoyed this spot. I'm surprised the rating is so low. It is a bit pricier than other poke spots but their fish is so fresh and up to par. I decided to get the Big Kahuna ($16)- classic Hawaiian tuna poke, classic Hawaiian salmon poke, yuzu-chili salmon poke, firecracker tuna poke, crab salad, watermelon radish, pickled ginger, seaweed salad (and added garlic crisps on top). Opened a month ago. Test kitchen atm and participates in mealpal. Marinates their fish. Four types of base: white rice, brown rice, marinated kale, and vegetable noodles. You can choose preset bowls or make your own. Sauces at the cashier area. Fresh wasabi made from the root so that's a plus. They sell flavored sparkling water, soda and sparkling tea as beverages. The big kahuna poke bowl was just the amount of flavor but the white rice was too wet and sticky. They put too much ginger slices. Honestly I was a bit disappointed because this spot was nothing out of the ordinary, I've had better poke. The customer service was on point though. Embarrassment to Poke. I noticed everyone thinks they can run this business by getting some rice fish and mangos and charging +1.50 extra for mangos. The rice here is dry and boring. Only a few topping to choose from and rest are premium extras. The protein is tiny and the final outcome is $16 out yo pocket for mediocre food. I feel less ripped off paying $10 for a small popcorn at the movies because at least that has flavor. If I wanted to eat cardboard I'd visit my local staples. Anywho move on. I wanted to like this place, since I work across the street BUT the poke is just really bland and not good. Poke is supposed to use sushi rice, which is flavored with rice vinegar, sugar etc. They instead use dry, plain rice and barely any toppings--just resulting in a very bland meal. The place is only open a few hours a day, and despite being near a huge office complex, never has any traffic. I totally get why now. Meh :/ read more

Food overall is really bland. The toppings and rice leave much to be desired. Very pricey for the quality of food served. Also had a very bad experience with refunds. Tried to order food online but they ran out of the particular item I wanted. I spoke with someone on the phone and asked for a refund, and then I got hung up on. I called again and I got hung up on again. Had to physically go to the restaurant to get something else because I wasn't sure if I was going to get my money back.
