    B.Y.O.B. Poke Bowl

The build-your-own poke bowl here is loaded with all your favorites. There's a good variety to choose from. You can layer it exactly how you like. It's a great option if you want something that feels both hearty and relatively light at the same time.

Enjoyable! Came by for a quick and easy lunch! I did the build your own bowl option. Service was great as the lady who helped us was super kind and nice. One bowl was more than enough for me. The ingredients seemed pretty fresh! Got some taro chips on the side and it was a really yummy bite to have a chip topped with the poke bowl.

A friend took me to this place because we'd heard about it. They gave the gave it a 4/5, but I personally wouldn't come back or recommend this unless you're being health conscious and I'd give it a 2/5. The sauces are too light to really be tasted in the bowl. The price is on par with other places. But the bowl is lackluster as the fish is just ok. Service is fine, the shop was empty when we came in.

I thought this was just great! I needed a quick, healthy dinner and this totally hit the spot. The person behind the counter was so super helpful, too. I got the yellowfin and albacore tuna with miso sesame shoyu sauce on a base of forbidden rice and kelp noodle slaw. I got a nice variety of veggies too - carrots, jicama, seaweed salad, cucumbers, and radish. I topped it off with crispy garlic. It was huge bowl and so good! I'd definitely stop by again. I also liked the strange but good lychee sparking water I got on a whim.

We came in here for a healthy lunch option. This location is clean & spacious. Plenty of seating, but was empty when I got there around noon on a Saturday. Staff was friendly but they didn't know the bowls/ingredients too well when asked nor were they familiar with the prices/additional costs. Portions are really inconsistent depending on who is building the bowl and the worker missed a couple items on my bowl when I ordered a preset item (Remi bowl) that she explained to me about. A different worker also gave really little rice compared to my second bowl, which was also pretty undercooked for "sushi rice". They measure the protein by ounces and give you really little of each topping -- like tiny pinches of each item. The flavors were okay, but definitely overhyped in my opinion considering the quality, price, and amount of food they give. Their bowls are PRICEY ($15+) esp considering the portions here. I would recommend other poke spots to people if asked.

I got the salmon and tuna with bamboo rice, ginger, seaweed salad, fried onions, cucumbers, pineapple. Always love me a good poke bowl. Not too overpriced and gives good portions. the bamboo rice is unique here and is a must try, pairs super well with the fish. fast service with seating inside and outside, nice ambiance

Pictures are misleading. This is almost the smallest burrito I've ever received and for the price $13.90 I can confidently say I will not be returning here again. Flavors were only alright. Sauces were pretty good and definitely helped for more flavor. Crunchy Garlic Chili Oil had good flavor with a little heat. Lots of really good and different options to choose from in your burrito which made ordering from here enticing but the size is far too underwhelming. If you like high quality ingredients for a high price and have a small appetite then perhaps this place is for you.

The poke was disappointing. The flavors were too mild and didn't mesh together well. The texture of the bamboo rice was really strange to me where it was somewhat crunchy and hard. The small bowl is also really small compared to other poke places which is a bummer. They said they were out of the yuzu ponzu and the wasabi drizzle which I was sad about as well and wonder if it would have made the flavor better if they had those. Overall did not really enjoy my poke and would not be coming back

Came here since I kept seeing Sweetfin show up on the Claim app and decided to get it this week since I was craving poke. My boyfriend and I decided to split a Sweetbox with Truffle Yuzu Albacore and Yuzu Salmon. The food just felt incredibly average. Flavor of the fish was pretty fresh and had a nice flavor, but it just felt like a really tiny ratio compared to other poke bowls. The seaweed that it comes with tastes a bit like the seaweed that Costco used to sell. The rice they used tasted good and I really enjoyed it. For the price and amount of fish I get, I'd rather go to another poke place. The service was nice though - the guy serving us who seemed to be a manager kept asking us if everything was good. The aesthetic in the store is really cute as well.

I wish I could do 0 stars because I had ordered a bag of taro chips and I kid u not there at 3 pieces in here and a kids salmon bowl and not even a full scoop Of salmon and a few pieces of mango and the slightest amount of sauce. Overall over priced and not worth what you're getting

Food quality is fresh and great! The options they offer far exceed most places. From mushrooms, pumpkin seeds and plethora other fresh veggies to add. . A great place to add a mix of options versus the mundane usual establishments. But the best thing was the service ! Genesis , helped me by asking if it was my first visit & it was. She was patient & went over the options and recommended the build your own Bowl. The Best bowl I have had at a poke spot. She really is an awesome asset to this spot and they are lucky to have her!

Today was my first time at Sweetfin, and it did not disappoint! The restaurant itself was super cute, with some indoor and outdoor seating. It's laid out pretty similar to typical poke places, but what caught my eye was the boxes they offered. I was greeted by a super sweet and friendly worker. Here, you have the option of either ordering a pre-created bowl or customizing one yourself. There were also other options, like one of their curated sweetboxes, which included mini versions of their pre-created poke bowls, sushi burritos, grain bowls, and salad bowls. I opted to get their Signature Sweetbox and created my own bowl. For my bowl, I got the salmon, siracha ponzu, mango, jalapenos, cucumbers, edamame, crispy onion, crispy garlic, and bamboo rice. I can tell that their fish is super fresh here because the salmon in my bowl was so good! Overall, the bowl was good, but I'd probably skip the bamboo rice next time and try a different base. The rice is slightly harder than regular sushi rice. The signature box was definitely the highlight of this trip. The kale salad, the noodles, the taro chips, and the variety of fish in each section all tied together in the perfect amount of sauce for each. Lesson learned, order their pre-curated bowls and definitely get the boxes!

    BYOB Salmon Masterpiece!

First time checking this place out tonight since I had gotten off work and was trying to kill time while the 405 traffic mellowed out. Bummed to see Moulin was already closed (I think they close at 2 or 3pm??) - but Sweetfin stood out with their decor and there were a few open parking spots upfront too. I was cheerfully greeted right as I entered by Damaris. I told her it was my first time here and she went through all their special bowls. I told her I was looking for only salmon - and she suggested the Yuzu or another one that looked sorta busy with all the toppings on it. I told her I wanted something with salmon and that had only "soft" toppings, not crunchy. She suggested the BYOB, which was what I settled with. They offer two bowl sizes - Small (which looked more like "tiny/kid-sized"), and Large (which looked more like "normal" at other poke places). I went with the Large. The toppings and different sauces - all fresh - was really what stood out about this place. Even the rice choices - bamboo rice instead of "plain white rice" - was awesome. Toppings that I haven't even seen at other poke spots were offered here - like string mushrooms and pineapple - which really helped the bowl stand out. They even have *gulp* eggplant here as a topping (eww. I didn't add any to my bowl tho) - I thought it was shiitake mushroom lol. For sauces - I went with spicy mayo in the bowl, and Damaris suggested their black garlic on the side - which was an awesome choice as it was equally yummy, but I could see how it could overwhelm the other flavors if dumped in the bowl. Damaris was super patient and friendly throughout the creation of my awesome poke bowl. She even told me about their rewards program and allowed me to sign up for it on the spot. Easily one of the friendliest staff encounters at a restaurant this past year. The bowl was delicious - and with the variety of toppings, really gave it a more unique taste than at my usual go-to spots for poke. The salmon tasted fresh - as did all the other wonderful additions to my meal. Prices are fair considering the location. Parking wasn't so bad at the time that I went - but that's probably cuz Moulin was already closed. New poke favorite spot in the Newport Beach/Irvine area.

If over, it would have been $1.50 per 15 minutes (from what I remembered). Service was also friendly and efficient! We got to order the rock shrimp tempura, omakase bowl, miso crab salmon, maguro kajime, and the soy garlic edamame. Orders came out pretty quickly! We actually got the rock shrimp tempura first, which this one was pretty nice for the first few bites. Then it was me realizing that the batter was really hard, which I feel like this should be called rock hard shrimp haha. The flavors were good though! The soy garlic edamame came next, which this one was really nice! The soy garlic gives it a nice sweet touch. They also give a good amount. Then came the maguro kajime, this one was really good! Fish was really fresh and everything was so soft. Then came the miso crab salmon, this one was my favorite! Flavors tasted really good fused together, also very soft and fresh! The omakase bowl came last, which definitely was pretty nice. Everything was really fresh and it was nice they offer you seaweed so you can make your little hand rolls with it. The sea trumpet seaweed was really unique, although, I wasn't really a big fan of it after having so much it because it's tasted very oceanic. Actually, the whole omakase bowl tasted really oceanic, which is pretty nice, but personally for me it was too much haha. Everything was really good though! My least favorite may be the rock shrimp tempura, but my favorite was the miso crab salmon.

You won't find your typical rainbow rolls at this restaurant (I do love a good rainbow roll though). The rolls we ordered were the Snowflake (which was flavored with yuzu), the Lobster roll (which was so much more than a typical baked lobster/langostino roll), and the Are You Kidding Me roll, which was big on truffle flavor and came topped with fried onions. I thoroughly enjoyed the Snowflake roll. It had multiple types of fish inside, and the yuzu flavor added the perfect fresh citrusy touch. It also came dotted with a tiny bit of sriracha (or some other spice) but it was just a hint and it's easy to wipe off if you don't want any spice. The Lobster roll was the star of the show. I give it a 10/10 for presentation, and it was also the best tasting one in my opinion. It was plated with a shelled lobster tail, which looks visually pleasing, but the most impressive part was right before serving, the waitress lit it on fire and handed it to us, as if it were flaming creme brulee or something. The flame actually wasn't on the roll itself, but was on what appeared to be a trail of salt (presumably soaked in some kind of alcohol to make it burn). It definitely was a cool effect and I've never seen anything like it in a sushi restaurant! Lastly, the Are You Kidding Me roll - this was my third favorite out of the three we ordered. It was pretty good but I think the truffle flavor was a bit strong. I'm also personally not a huge fan of fried onions on top of sushi since I think it clashes a bit with the freshness of the fish, and gives me too many bar food vibes. But it certainly was flavorful and my husband and I still finished it. We shared these three sushi rolls between the two of us and it was just the right amount of food to leave feeling full. Besides the food, the restaurant itself was nice although I'm not sure they really needed to have a live DJ there as opposed to having a Spotify Playlist. Didn't bother me but I don't think it really added much to the vibe. I would definitely eat here again!

But the flavors of the dishes eased my fear. It was delicious. I love salmon and uni when it comes to sushi and I would recommend others to try this place! Several people already saw my instagram post and asked the name of the restaurant! I'm very happy that the food turned out phenomenal! Toyko nacho (recommend) : it was messy to eat and had a kick of spice. I didn't mind the mess though. Lots of different flavors. Uni hotate yuzu: scallops topped with uni. Eating it was like butter. Sour flavor profile from the yuzu. A bit overpowering. And the maldon sea salt was interesting. So you get the texture of buttery soft from the scallop and uni and a crunch factor from the salt. 5pc Salmon nigiri: so fatty and buttery! If you love salmon then definitely get this. The presentation was so cute. It lays on a bed of ice. And throughout the dinner the pieces of salmon were chilled. Monster nigiri (recommend) : I don't think anything about this when my honey suggested order this. But once it got to the table and we ate it. Wow! This dish flavors stood out to me. The crispy sweet onions and sauce perfected the meal. Dragon: It was pretty tasty and decent. I know my honey liked it a lot. He prefers not to eat raw fish, so this was to his liking (I recommend to those who don't eat raw fish). Truffle essence (recommend) : The taste of truffle is weirdly addicting. The presentation was eye catching because the candle is keeping the truffle butter warm. The concept of dipping or pouring the truffle butter onto the roll was a fun way of eating. Snowflake roll: A lot of reviews mentioned this was a popular dish. I can see why it was popular. It's literally a bunch of fish in a roll! Haha, fish lover this would be perfect to order. Crunchy roll: It was a decent roll, but a bit dryer than I expected. Orders and ratings: Tokyo nacho 9/10. Uni hotate yuzu 10/10. 5pc Salmon nigiri 10/10. Monster 11/10. Dragon 8/10. Truffle essence 9/10. Snowflake roll 10/10. Crunchy roll 6/10. Thank you!
