I showed up right before closing, both Erin and the other staff were very helpful in giving me their preferred ingredients and since I am not a very big spicy eater, they steered me correctly on the sauces. I had the Yellow Tuna Bowl with riced cauliflower and loads of sprouts, cucumbers, and fresh ginger. The sweet truffle sauce was just the right amount of flavor mixed with the flaked onion. I am looking forward to coming back. The only bummer, was the water and drink bar was broken down and was a bit of a mess. I hope that was a rarity. read more

The flavors were really good but there were barely any salmon. It felt more like a salad with a dash of salmon on top. I like edamame but there's just so much maybe less of that and more salmon would've been good. The noodles were disappointing. I've had noodles all my life and this was just something else. I picked the box over the bowls because I wanted to try this forbidden rice noodle but it felt more like overcooked noodles or play-doh. It looks pretty but when you stir or pick them up they just fall part into tiny pieces and felt like mush in my mouth. Might give them another try since I do like the sauce and fried garlic/onions were damn good but definitely not the box anymore. read more

I never had sweet fin before but I went here because I wanted to try the collab with Remi Cruz, but the food did not taste fresh at all. Went to grab a spoon and there were fuzzies from the container it was in. The rice was like hard leftover, cold rice. It honestly wouldve been better if the food was fresh, but sadly it wasn't. It was $16.60 for the small portion with old food. :( read more

I walked in because I wanted a quick meal and when I first walked in I was greeted by lauren and she was so sweet. I told her it was my first time there and didn't know what to order so she recommended a few options but we ultimately chose the spicy tuna bowl. I must admit it exceeded my expectations I usually don't go for a tuna bowl but this one was top tier it was so good I plan on coming back to try another item on the menu. Got the Yuzu Salmon bowl, Spicy Tuna bowl, customized burrito, and kids Grasshopper. The team was friendly and patient as it was our first time. The 4-star is because the food while fresh wasn't very flavorful compared to most poke burritos or bowls we've had. The kids options weren't very great for toddlers/young kids. Location was super clean and well kept, but no soap in the bathroom.... Luckily hand sanitizer was on the cashier counter! read more

good service & very clean. this is like a non traditional poke place. i think tryna be hip n different. they have unique options but tbh it kinda flopped for me. They have fancy rices & they use kale for the salad. the forsure weigh the proteins & the sauces kinda lacked and it's pretty expensive for what it is. Given there are lots of options in the area, i'd chose somewhere else. I will say, if you are health conscious & want to come here for healthier choices or are a Gluten Free/ vegetarian/vegan it's a great option for you. I just realized that all their food is GF so p good for those who need that and crave poke. read more

I just want to say they go above and beyond!!! they're opened early doing doordashes and Uber eats. I obviously didn't see what time it was it was 1045. I was thinking that it was already time to open because I had to DoorDash. I just want to say their service is impeccable. The food Hass to be amazing for people to want it before they even open. I'm someone who hates trendy instagram style food that's all marketing/visual appeal and no real flavor, flavor overload, or just plain bad... and even though I was kind of excited to try it, i didn't expect much and was already a bit skeptical. I was ready to say this was overpriced etc. Nope. Sweetfin more than exceeded my expectations. It was delicious. I created my own box with yuzu salmon/kelp noodle & classic tuna/citrus kale. They did not skimp on the fish at all and it was FRESH. I've had lots of poke even at other popular spots that seemed fine and gave me the runs after. Gross. I don't feel that with this, or any flavor other than what it's supposed to be. Delicious, fresh, and flavorful. The noodles it came with as a side were one of my favorite parts. Everything was just perfect, and of course, the presentation was adorable. This is one aesthetic type place I will order again and again. It's worth every penny and id pay the amount even without it being in a cute pink bento box. I can't wait to try the other options of fish. read more

Is this a joke? This is the most overpriced bowl of poke I have ever ordered in my life. Hardly any fish, hardly any sauce, hardly any avocado (for $2 extra??????), the matcha popcorn was soggy and disgusting -- completely inedible!!!!! UNNECESSARILY NAMED SAUCES?? Call the "Creamy Togarashi" what it is -- spicy mayo!!! I should not have to be googling 5 different google searches just to understand your menu. Parking is abysmal and food did not taste fresh. They don't really have much a salad option for your base--a couple of large pieces of kale that were hard to eat. Rice is good, but fish is only mediocre quality and they are really stingy with the toppings. The person scooping gave me ONE EXTRA CUBE OF SALMON THEN PROCEEDED TO REMOVE IT FROM MY BOWL! Wild. Also, the avocado they charged me extra for was already turning brown. The taste itself was pretty bland which is surprising cause the sauces tasted good. All the fish was kind of devoid of flavor. Like it has been thawed out for a while. It was the equivalent of what a lecroix tastes like--kinda sorta like the fruit it promises but you have to look really hard. Won't be back, and definitely not worth enduring the worst parking lot in Newport Beach. Packaging is nice, if you're into that. read more

Went to the Newport location in Bristol. The gentleman working the store was very nice and seemed to care about the service. The food is good but the sizes are small. The burrito is like a half of what the usual burrito is (whatever that is for you this will be smaller). And as others have mentioned, same with the bowls they are tiny. But over all a nice visit, would be great to address the portions for the price imo. Enjoy! read more

This place is not good at all, I ordered delivery. Small bowl is smaller than my hand. I was starving at my job I work as a nurse and truly so frustrated. Most disappointing poke I've had. Very overpriced for the amount of fish you receive and you're up-charged a LOT for a little extra fish. Our bill was about $47 for two bowls (one small) and a drink. They don't refill their lemonade/tea options nor carry sweetener, so we regretted paying for a beverage. Overall, unsatisfactory visit. read more

I love Sweetfin! It's such a great optimization of poke. More like 3.75 stars only because this location really under fills their bowls. I've been to a couple other locations and the Newport location consistently has less food in the bowl and less toppings. Not sure if this location is struggling or what's going on but it's just a tad annoying since I know other locations have a different standard. read more

I ordered a Sweetfin Poké bowl through Postmates app. I ordered two kinds of rice in my pokey bowls and it came with neither. The amount of fish was very wimpy and not generous at all. The sauces also don't have a lot of flavor. I was really hoping for a better poke experience.. also when I tried to call the restaurant directly about the missing rice it is impossible to talk to a person. first time here and ordered a $20 bowl, service was excellent staff was very nice but the food and value is less than 1 star, mostly rice and hardly any fish, the food bowl pictures are misleading in actual fact the quantity of fish is 50% less essentially a fraction in comparison to other restaurants I felt short changed and thats not a good feeling. I live in the area and support local business and I have a lot of choices, so I gave Sweetfin a try but for $20 I can get better value for my money elsewhere. read more

Sweetfin concept description: Sweetfin is a healthful, chef-driven, California inspired poke and plant-based bowl concept that uses local produce, sustainable fish, and innovative ingredients. Our entire menu is gluten free and all of our menu items are made in-house, from scratch, daily.

History

Established in 2015.

Each culture does it differently: Japan has sushi and sashimi, Latin America has ceviche, Italy has crudo and Scandinavia has gravlax. Hawaii has poké. We fell in love with poké after visiting the Hawaiian Islands. Fresh, healthy and delicious, poké took all of the best components of sushi and put them in an easy to eat container. Let's just say we couldn't stop at eating just one bowl. Being Californians, however, we love the inventiveness of California cuisine and wanted to meet in the middle of the Santa Monica Pier and the aku boats of Hawaii's fishing areas. Since that would have put us right smack in the heart of the Pacific, we instead set up shop here, on the California coast, where we've updated the same savory mix of rich Ahi tuna, shoyu and sesame oil with the inventive flavor combinations of California cuisine.

When I informed them, they promptly replaced the Fresh Spicy Tuna with Blue Crab. But by that time, I had lost my appetite due to the incident and could barely finish my poke bowl. North Shore Poke Co. might be one of the top poke spots in Huntington Beach, but I would still rank The Poke Place in Rancho Cucamonga and Ahipoki Bowl in Rialto well above it. I politely asked if she could help me when she was free. She looked at me, nodded, and said she would. Then proceeded to assist every customer who lined up behind that original customer without once glancing back in my direction. In fact, I had enough time to walk to the bakery, go through the entire gift card situation as mentioned above, and return to the butter section, and Lucy still hadn't looked over. I left without the butter. Moulin used to have fantastic service. I don't know where those regulars went, but two strikes in one visit, with two different employees, is hard to brush off.

The options weren't explained super clearly to me, so I ended up choosing cauliflower rice in a bit of a panic because it the only rice-like option on view. It was quite good! But I would definitely go for the black rice next time. My husband- who is obviously less intimidated by the pressure of choice- ordered that base, and it was pretty amazing. His bowl was a garlicky gochujang concoction that was very tasty. The restaurant itself is a bright, modern fast-casual spot with both indoor and patio dining options. The rice was super delicious and the salmon melts on your tongue. He accompanies your dish with three scrumptious sauces (all of which are a circus for your mouth). The place is spotless and the vibe is perfect for a quick bite. CDM scored with this place. J served us and was very nice and pleasant to talk to. Pro tip: if you want to have a sit down experience, order everything to go as there are no tables (just bar stools and a great bar to eat at).

The winter squash pizza was average, lacking in flavor, but the falafel wrap I would order again. Our salmon roll came super cold and the rice paper was hard- they probably premade this and just had it sitting in the fridge. Also, warning- none of these had sauce inside the wraps. They came undressed, basically just plain ingredients wrapped in a cold tortilla and the portion was much smaller than expected. I mean, you'll feel healthy and light after eating these but don't think it's worth going out of your way to get. Came in with low expectations bc we knew Gwyneth likes her stuff HEALTHY so we kinda knew they would skimpy with seasoning or flavor, wanted to keep an open mind, but it was disappointing after seeing all the positive reviews on social media. Likely would not come back again.
