This small Lounge is located at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa & Marina. Seems though that you may need to be a guest of this hotel, as I had to use my room key card to get through some gates at the pool area. The bar counter sits about ten people and the lounge area has seven tables and six chairs that surrounds the circular 800 gallon aquarium. There is a flat screen TV, but it wasn't on this evening. This lounge is next to the multiple swimming pools and outdoor fireplace, hence the name of 'SWIM'. The floor to ceiling windows and doors invites you to gaze out to the bay, marina and sunsets. Their menu is a Pan-Latino cuisine with a Cuban flair to the traditional bar staples. Today, I had their Cuban sandwich (pulled pork, sliced ham, swiss cheese) which comes with mojo dipping sauce and some plantain chips. I had also tried the Angus burger with comes with fries and a mustard herd dip. Both were good, but I preferred the Cuban sandwich. So, if you're a guest at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay, stop by for a cocktail, Well Drink, glass of wine or a beer. If you want, take your drink outdoors to enjoy the fire pit with friends and family while watching the sunset.

Nice, kind of upscale, but still casual little pool bar/lounge. You can eat/drink inside or out at the pool. Have been here a few times, and best is the tropical atmosphere, view over the Harbor on one side and pool on the other, and fire pit in back. You can even purchase a S'mores "kit" w/ sticks, marshmallows, graham crackers and chocolate. You pay for the convenience ($16), but it's easily enough for 4, so not bad. Not a huge menu, but they have a few apps, salads, sandwiches, burgers, plates of 3 tacos (the grilled fish were pretty good), all about $10-15, and 4 kids' meals for $5-7. They also have some nice wines, beer and cocktails.

All I can say is "eww"! My friend and I were looking for some where to have a happy hour cocktail. The "bar" was packed with kids. This bartender was cutting limes without gloves!!! right in front of us, but would stop and run a credit card or make a drink and then come back to cutting limes! Never washing her hands or putting a glove on! The other bartender was running around with 1 glove on, but continued to make drinks and run payments, but never changed her glove.

Staying at the Hyatt regency in San Diego for 1 night. We arrived late and squeezed in a dinner room service at 945 and they close at 10..very grateful. The order arrived quickly and an extra item that wasn't ordered was in paper bag and on bill. I call and since they were closed I got the answering machine transferred back to the hotel operator and she had to have someone call me which they did. He said he would be right up to take back a plate of pasta and remove it from my bill. They were coming up to retrieve it? not like I was going to eat it but this is odd. I'm going to attach a picture of this because the sticker shock is so much that I'm posting at 4 o'clock in the morning. We ordered mahi tacos, cheesecake , BLTA & two glasses of wine..(Mac and cheese was returned) and that totals to $75 then add 20℅ resdel $16 (20℅ of 75 = 15!...how many people have been overcharged?) and Del charge of $5 and service charge for $16 and tax... and they have the audacity to add a line for tip ...& the guy characteristically acts like he is lucky to get nickel..and I foolishly add a tip. These fees are ridiculous, the food shows up in a paper sack with plastic glasses and plastic spoons and knives like a picnic...for these kind of fees it should be rolled on a cart served correctly and I still wouldn't pay those fees and the food below average.. When we returned the mac and cheese the new bill reflected that but they failed to adjust their 20% fee and no one was around in management and of course the front desk can't do it.. so I will figure that out today. unless you're doing really well and want a really poor meal served on paper plates that you can overpaid for stay home... peanut butter and jelly all day!

Your view of peaceful boating, kayaking, paddle boarding and family lion sea watching.

I recommend bringing the family here for an early dinner for buffalo wings, chips n salsa. The chicken quesadilla, swim burger, and fish tacos were great. After dinner head next door to an outdoor fire pit for smores and meeting other families traveling to the Hyatt resort. Remember to bring your kids purple cup for refillable drinks during your stay. I highly recommend this resort for family and kids.

Ordered the fish tacos. Being in SoCal, had high expectations. Was completely disappointed in both the food and service.

Bartenders were cool. Nick was our fave though for sure. He made some mean cocktails. Solid liquor selection plus a list of cocktails to choose from. I initially ordered the something and picante (can't remember the full name) and found it to be way too sweet. Then switched to a basic Lalo with soda and lime to cleanse my palette. After tried their version of an espresso martini which was quite good but made with nitro brew and kahlua so a bit on the sweeter side. I ended the night with my fave drink though which was a Hugo spritz and it was perfectly balanced. Definitely will be going back, especially for the love band Sundays. Parking is all street parking.

Bartenders and staff are super friendly and flexible to customize your cocktail experience. The first time we went, we had the Christmas in San Diego cocktail, a coconut fat washed delight, and the Oaxacan Triceratops with mezcal. Wow!! The flavors, the froth, the presentation were executed so well. Went back the next day and the Christmas in San Diego wasn't available due to a delayed delivery and the overnight process needed for the coconut fat washing. That's how you know this place is legit...The bartender was super and offered many alternatives based on my preferences. Landed on a drink he concocted with some similarity. I liked it and he was kind enough to discount it and totally willing to make me something else if I didn't. Great open space with a patio, gift shop, cafe, and live performances. Quiet enough to hunker down with great coffee and study as many were doing around us. Lovely daytime experience for our vacay.

I got their Patient Pisco Sour while my partner got the Pomegranate Mojito. The Pisco Sour definitely packed a punch! Quite strong, yet rich and palatable. The real star, however, was surprisingly the Pomegranate Mojito. Pomegranate happens to be one of my favorite fruits, and it's quite rare to find anything pomegranate flavored, let alone a drink! Tart and refreshing, this might just be my new go-to drinky drink.

My favorite meal time at Cocina de Barrio is their brunch. Their dishes range from the classics with a "Mexican twist" (eggs, pancakes, French toast) to the more authentic antojitos. I've tried and really enjoyed their enmoladas made with Oaxacan mole. The cafe de olla is also not-to-be-missed. Everytime I come to Cocina de Barrio, the staff always goes above and beyond. First and foremost, the overall atmosphere of this restaurant is very festive. There's a full bar, plenty of seating, and there's always music playing in the background. In my most recent visit, we were initially directed to a table close to the bar. But one of the bussers kindly cleaned a larger table by the patio very quickly, then moved my parents and I. So we unexpectedly got a comfortable booth by natural light, how thoughtful! :') Food Highlights: - Grilled Octopus (5/5) - Char + flavor + texture made for a phenomenal appetizer to share - Señorial Non-Alcoholic Sangria (4/5) - this was terrific, but it's a bit pricy to order from here. You're better off buying this bev in bulk from Smart & Final - Chicharrón, Chips, and Guacamole (4.3/5) - Delicious! But I would have liked more chicarrón and guac, less chips. - Lenguado al Ajillo (4.7/5) - Crispy edges, but the flounder itself flakes beautifully. The garlic butter flavor isn't too overpowering and the corn cake that comes with this plate is on the sweeter side - overall, a fantastic dish! The staff is generally accommodating to reasonable requests. I actually asked for extra cilantro lemon rice and less beans. I didn't even mind the black beans lodged into the rice cause this still made for a well-balanced meal. If I'm in the greater San Diego area in the future, I'm determined to try one of their popsicle margaritas!
