Quite a distance from the park but if you're in Kalispell, Sykes is a must! Cute little store to browse through while you wait for the table. Ordered the corned beef hash and Benedict ranchero. Both very good but the Benedict was good on another level. The ranchero sauce was out of this world and blended in so well with the rest of the ingredients on your plate! We grabbed breakfast here after getting our marriage license at the county courthouse - this place looked like it would have served up some nice family style breakfast but we did not enjoy our meal. It is also connected to a convenient store and pharmacy which was nice because we got to grab some necessities without having to make another stop at a store. I got some eggs, sausage, bacon and French toast. The French toast had raisins and I think cinnamon in it and it was not good. The chicken fried steak Benedict looked good but 0/10 for taste - half of it was covered in Hollandaise sauce and the other half in gravy and even with it covered in sauce, it lacked flavor. This diner had a pharmacy and a gift shop all in one! There was plenty of seating inside and live music playing as well. The prices were pretty good for the portion size that you receive of anything you order here. The servers were pretty quick with refilling water and coffee, but the food could take some time as they were pretty packed! My friends and I ordered the following: - Breakfast Saddlebag (4/5): I loved the puff pastry surrounding the scrambled eggs and sausage. It was crispy and went really well with the gravy underneath. If you add hot sauce to it, the flavor becomes even better! - Popeye's Omelet (3/5): Our vegetarian friend ordered this dish and was not expecting the omelet to taste like meat and noticed the flavor being off-putting right away. The biscuit however, was huge and it was delicious! - Jaegerschnitzel egg's benedict (5/5): The pork cutlet was great in flavor, super crispy and tender! The hashbrowns could have been more crispy but it still tasted pretty good. - Chicken fried steak benedict (4/5): The chicken fried steak was tasty but it could have been juicier and more tender. The hashbrowns could have been more crispy too but everything else was great. - Huckleberry bread pudding (5/5): You MUST try this dessert! It was so delicious!! This place is awesome. Food was delicious. Service was fast and our server was hilarious. She was so nice and made sure we had everything we needed. Pancakes were yummy and filling. Hot chocolate was DELICIOUS. It was busy in the restaurant with many people waiting around 9am on a Tuesday so make sure to get there early. read more

The place was really cool and a locals spot for sure. The atmosphere was different but good. You are eating in a dinner that's a general store that's a pharmacy. The service was good and food came out fast. The portions are huge, so be careful if you go in there hungry, you will over order. Love thier food but was shocked to be scolded by an employee . At the bar there were three seats. One of the men at the bar seeing that I was looking for a seat offered to scoot over so I could sit with my husband. As he was moving over (which I thanked him for) some employee (bald male). Told me to refrain from doing that). Asking someone to move. They don't like disturbing thier guest! What a dick! I did not ASK him to move, he OFFERED after seeing I was looking!!!! This is quintessential Montana. The morning vibes are everything about of towner would love to experience whilst traveling up north. Food was served in large portions so be prepared to have some left overs. Everything we got was very good especially the saddlebag. Finally the service is what makes this a must enjoy everyone was nice and helpful. It's loud but they have one of the best breakfasts in town mainly due to the number of options. The service is usually good. I'm unhappy with the credit/debit card surcharge. I think it's cheap. But the food is good. Not the best, but very good. Really three and a half stars. If they didn't add that ridiculous credit/debit surcharge (or added charge for takeout) it would be a better experience. read more

A great diner. One of my absolute favorites and it's a local treasure here. Amazing food, great service, and a very welcoming atmosphere inside. I've been coming here most weekends since I moved here and what I can say for sure is you know a place is good when there's almost always a wait. Luckily, there's a coffee shop inside the diner so you can sit and enjoy a great morning coffee while you wait for your table. Pricing is reasonable and well worth it in my opinion. I ate at this restaurant today (12/23/23) around 11:30 am. To be clear, I do not want to be comped, but I felt I should say something since it is a potential health hazard. I ordered the hearty breakfast with sourdough toast. I enjoyed my meal, but when I got to my toast I noticed the piece of toast at the bottom of the stack had a bite taken out of it. I was caught off guard and little embarrassed so I didn't want to make a scene. After thinking about it today, I felt like I should say something since it's a health concern and I'm not sure if this is a pattern. I'm also not sure if it was the server or one of the other staff. Not much as far as ambience it's a local established diner but after being seated the service is great and the employees are friendly. The food is great and it's definitely a breakfast joint.
