Used to be my favorite spot in Sylmar during my high school days!!! I would usually order a chicken pesto panini which always tasted great !! On game days, I would order their pasta, and it was amazing!!!!! For the valley, it's a great place and would definitely recommend. I went into this place for the very first time. It's a small, hole-in the wall sandwich shop with convenience store vibes. No real issue there. There are some gems like that around Sylmar. Unfortunately, this isn't one of them. I was helped by a rather young, dark haired cashier. They asked me what I wanted. After, made my choice, they turn said, "what?" and asked me to repeat my order. I shifted my gaze from the menu/sign above back to the cashier and they were having a conversation with another coworker. I do not know who trained the worker, but a) when you ask someone a question, you don't space out when they answer b) when you ask for a customer for their order, you don't ask them to repeat their order because you weren't paying attention. The food there is overpriced for what you get. Ten bucks for a cold cut turkey panini with chipotles sauce. No drink. No chips. Just the sandwich. Service is poor. The staff doesn't seem to know what they are doing, and you can hear them gossiping about the customers. It was very unprofessional. The cashier couldn't stop making not so loud comments about how it was basically my fault that she wasn't paying attention. If I am going to pay for an overpriced panini, I would like to think it is reasonable to expect service with a smile. One of the better quality places to eat in the surrounding area. The ingredients are usually fresh and the flavors are on point. This is like a modern day Subway with better ingredients and better quality. Most of the sandwiches are panini style and my favorite part is the bread. It is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside giving the sandwich a nice texture. Aside from sandwiches they also serve salads, hot and cold pastas, fresh smoothies, juices, and coffee. I've had the chicken pesto panini, the hot pastas, several of the salads, and a few of the juices. My favorite thing on the menu is the chicken Tuscan salad with balsamic vinegar. It is extremely flavorful with grilled peppers, zucchini and chicken laying on a bed of mixed spring greens and fresh avocado. This is one of my favorite places to go to for lunch. Items are typically light and don't make you feel groggy the rest of the day and the juices are also a nice pick-me-up after lunch. The ambience is super casual and seating is similar to a fast food joint. After paying they give you a number and once your food is ready, you pick it up at the register. All the employees are nice and work at a fast pace which is awesome (because most people are on their lunch). I haven't been here at any time other than the lunch rush, but I assume that's the busiest they get. Parking is still plentiful. If you are a newbie, you may have a bit of trouble finding the place, but just drive around the shopping center to the back! read more

It was divine, perfectly grilled and stuffed with Chicken, Avocado, Tomato, PESTO (yuuuum!) and Provolone. The bread is sorta like a baguette, flaky crust and spongy center. Soooo yummy, a must try! Croissant Panini Holly shizz who woulda thought! When I saw this on the menu I knew I had to try it. Nutella spread with FRESH sliced strawberries (saw them with my own 2 eyes haha) pressed on the panini grill to order. Needless to say my plate was scraped clean, it was amazing! I really can not understand how this place has high ratings. The only conclusion I can come up with is that it's the only spot serving panini sandwiches in SYLMAR and maybe it's something new for the area. I ordered the "fix" panini on a French roll which cost almost $8 and some change. The size of the sandwich is unbelievable. I have had $4 breakfast burritos bigger than this. The sandwich was drenched in chipotle sauce, which tasted like the store bought ready made sauce, and soggy. This sandwich can be made at home in 5 minutes with a panini maker. I will not go back. This is my go-to escape from Olive View Cafeteria, which although delicious, makes me feel like death itself if I eat the oily delicious food three times per day. If you like sandwiches/panini's, I highly recommend this place. The staff is very friendly and will answer your questions. I recommend the turkey pesto or the Works Panini. If you're ultra-hungry though and want to order two (guilty, sorry wedding diet :/) don't order both of those (like I did), they don't go well together. Separate but equal. Wash em down with an Arizona iced tea. You know you want to. They have ample parking. It is hard to find using the maps app on your phone. You have to go into the back of the shopping center. Very bland and basic ($7.00 = decent sized) Citrus Blend: Recommend! just the right amout of everything ($3.75 = kinda pricey) Mushroom Chicken Panini: Recommend! Ton of meat and not greasy ($5.95 + $1.50 = kinda pricey) Location Sylmar's Fix is located on the backside of a strip mall. If you're a local think of where the Gold's Gym use to be and if you're not a local it's on the opposite side of the Von's. Personally, I don't know how I would feel about visiting Sylmar's Fix at night because it seems like it would be very dark and shady. The inside is clean and has quite a bit of tables. Overall 2/3 of the items we got were really good; so personally, I look forward to trying more things on their menu. Tip They have an extended menu that isn't posted online. From time to time people will ask me why I always do reviews or take pictures of my food when I go out to eat and the answer is very simple. I have worked in different aspects of the food industry for about nineteen years in restaurants, catering for TV and movie sets or in private homes. After all these years I have become really picky about where I go and spend my time hunting for places that I can find great food and service. Places where you can see just how much heart goes into the food that you eat and how much energy goes into making each dish picture perfect. Enough with the pretense and on to the new place I have found. Sylmar's Fix; at first you might wonder why it is called that but once you have the first bite of your first sandwich here you will understand. I don't mean this in a bad way but their sandwiches are addicting and there will come a time when you are going to need your fix. My first trip out it took some time to find this place in the shadow of Vons and on the less traveled side of a shopping center is this hidden gem. I realized just how great this place was when I was eating in the dining area and I was already thinking about the next time I would be in and which sandwich I was going to try next. (No fat jokes) In the last two trips I have tried 1) The Fix: Served on focaccia roll, chipotle aioli, smoked turkey, roma tomato, mozzarella cheese, avocado and arugula. 2) Clasico: Served on Focaccia roll, chicken, roasted red peppers, brie cheese, roma tomato, arugula and low fat mayo. 3) Chicken Pesto: Chicken , pesto sauce, roma tomato, avocado and provolone cheese 4) Italian Style: Eggplant sauce, roasted red peppers, roma tomato, provolone cheese and your choice of tuna, turkey, chicken or salami - I chose salami. 5) The Nutella Croissant: A grilled croissant with nutella, banana and strawberry. Now the Italian style is my stand out favorite, the quality, the taste of the salami is the first clue to just how much care and pride they take in creating and building each sandwich that is summoned forth from their kitchen. My second favorite would be the Clasico because of the way the brie cheese seemed to complement each and every component. After all there is just something so amazing about the melted majesty of brie cheese and the crunch of a focaccia roll grilled and peeled off a hot Panini press. As for the Croissant, there are few words that I know that can describe just how great it tasted. The first time I had one I was at a loss for words and with me that is hard to do. I would love to have one with a few strips of thick cut bacon but unchanged this is something worth traveling for. I am going to let you in on the secret to great cuisine whether you're a gourmet chef or you're flipping burgers, take pride in what you make, take pride in every single menu item that you send out and people will notice you. This place, this secret little gem hidden tucked away from the world is something you should speak of with fondness; that you should recommend to your friends and hell even strangers; let them think you're crazy but once they stop in they will want to thank you. read more

Friend recommended this place since he lived around there with his girlfriend as we were visiting them. FOOD: Ordered the Chicken Mushroom Panini and it tasted awesommmmee! The flavors were great and the bread was just heavenly, lightly toasted on the outside and fluffy on the inside makes for a perfect sandwich. The chicken meat was freshly cooked and sliced and put together with so much love. :') They have a parking lot so parking is simple, it's really just trying to find this place that's hard since it's relatively hidden from the main street in the back of the building it's located in. read more

This is one of slymars hidden hole in the wall. It's hidden and if it weren't for my friend I would've probably not heard about it. I'm glad I did though :) The interior is pretty basic. Its small with about 10 or so tables. It's clean and service is fast. Came during lunch time and received my food pretty fast. Staff is friendly. Pricing is more than reasonable affordable. I ordered the Tuna-licious and delicious indeed. I'm looking forward to trying all the paninis here they all look and sound so good. The only thing I would advice is that if you order a salad make sure they provide you with dressing.
