Ratings: Cleanliness - 8/10 Service - 8/10 Price - 9/10 Food - 6 / 10 Food review: Dumplings - 8/10 Broccoli Beef - 7/10 Sesame Chicken - 4/10 I would say any of the American items similar to sesame chicken will have the same issue (orange chicken, general tso, etc). Which was that it was like eating balls of breading more than pieces of chicken. Sauces seem house made, and I get the feeling that I ordered off the wrong part of the menu. The non-americanized dishes looked great, and the dumplings were the best item we ordered by far. Might come back to try other items. read more

Lookong for a quick take out place and thought I would give this a try. We ordered low mein noodles and chicken wings and bbq pork strip and glass noodles. Here is why this place is a one star. Chicken was dry Low mein noodles was below average but edible BBQ pork strip was however not edible more jerky like in texture and stripped of flavor. Question for the chef...if you would not eat this yourself then why serve it to customers?? Very bad business decision. read more

Authentic northern Chinese cuisine! I live 20 miles away but it's totally worth the drive up here. This place may look like a hole in the wall but it's actually a gem. Dining-in doesn't really give you a nicer experience compare to takeout, as the food are all in togo containers. Service is limited, and you will have to pay upfront right after ordering from the counter. But this doesn't impact the joy of eating the authentic food! P.S. please don't order from the American Chinese menu... it's like you going into a lobster store and only ordered some fries... read more

They do carry an authentic Sichuan menu, in addition to your regular American Chinese dishes. I was kinda surprised to find this place - their bamboo stew, sticky rice, and fish dishes are all decent. Would return and highly recommended! read more

Went with a group of Chinese friends. The restaurant specialized in cuisines from Northeastern, guangxi and sichuan of China. For the dishes that are on the menu, highly recommend "steamed chicken with chili sauce", pig intestine, and Pam fried pork buIf you wanted to order something off-menu, you've got to talk to the chefs ahead of time. Probably one of the most authentic Chinese restaurant I have ever had. The restaurant is open until 1am- if you want late night snacks this is the place you wanna go with. We only ordered deliveries from here. Their food is exceptional, everything is tasty - from dumplings to soup to rice dishes.... the only thing we don't like as much is the Chongqing Noodle, only because it's too spicy for our tastes. Update: food quality had gone down. Several dishes we have ordered before are not as good lately. Maybe they changed chef. read more

I ordered through Yelp and when I showed up to pick up my order I was told someone else took my food. They acted like it was my fault and didn't offer to remake it without me asking. Then they said they ran out of one of my items so couldn't remake it and tried offering me meat items twice when I repeatedly said I was a vegetarian. They refused to refund me and insisted I could cancel online but there was no way to do so on Yelp. I had to call Yelp/GrubHub to get a refund and went home with no food. read more

We ordered the sesame chicken, veg. Lo mein, crab Rangoon, and spring rolls. My friend really enjoyed the sesame chicken and thought the chicken was cooked well, only downside was side of rice was missing from the bag. Lo mein was good and would get again. Could use more veg variety. For mushroom haters like me it did have a few, but they were large enough to easily remove. Crab Rangoons had good flavor and not just pure cream cheese. I just ordered the flounder fillet with spicy mala sauce. When I hear mala, I expect it to be SPICY. It just wasn't it. It lacked spice and some flavor but I oddly enjoyed it. I just wish it was more saucy and more mala flavor. When I order szechuan/mala, I expect that sauce to be RED. It looked bland when I first opened it, hopefully they'll consider this review and improve! I really want to like this place considering it's super close to me. The staff are friendly! Went here on a late night and was extremely impressed with the quality of food, portion size, and service. More of a takeout type location but a couple seats available if you're okay with a no-frills dining experience. We chose to eat in and the staff was absolutely wonderful and had our food out very shortly; they also provided some boxes for everything we couldn't finish. Ordered the sour and spicy shredded potato, salt and pepper pork ribs, cold chicken in chili oil, and pan fried buns. Everything was stellar and had a good level of spice upon request. read more

This review is for takeout only, we haven't been there yet... with that said, we ordered takeout for a party of 20 and they were great to deal with (since we didn't really know what to get). We suggested some items, and they suggested some items, and in the end we had a pretty great catering menu that they delivered to Revere. The food arrived just when they said it would (exactly 1 hour for a huge amount, all packaged in foil trays and hot) Keep in mind this is NOT Tiki Island or Kowloon, which is where you go for that 1980's-style super greasy Chinese food that is great while you're there, then you regret every bite the next day... But God I love the Tiki.... So what I'm trying to say is the food at Bun's is not greasy, it's more of what I consider higher quality. The buns were great although I prefer the beef buns over the pork. The shrimp & broccoli had big, super sweet shrimp (with the tails on, so be careful). The spring rolls were crispy and just plain yummy, to be technical. They vaporized, I watched in horror as my whole family inhaled 29 spring rolls in roughly 2 minutes, I was lucky to escape with one... Beef teriyaki was perfect, it's one of those things I'm wicked judgey about but these were great. Udun with chicken was the perfect consistency, big fat noodles in a nice sauce. I was also lucky to get some lo mein, nice noodles perfectly cooked, but it also vaporized... I also heard a giant sucking sound, and the chicken fingers disappeared, didn't even get one... So in total we got about 10 or 12 different items, and not one complaint from 23 people. Well, one complaint... one of my cousins thought the bun-to-filling ratio wasn't great, so he's currently locked in our basement. All in all, I would definitely order from Bun's again, the food was better than I expected. read more
