We ordered the bowl of the oreo fluff dessert and it was very expensive @ $13. A person in our group ordered the same thing, but a cup (half the price), and when we finally got ours the bowl was the same size as the cup. We asked about if our order was wrong, and the staff said our order was a bowl. Clearly it wasn't a bowl size -- we had many examples of a cup at our table. Very shady and plus we had to ask where our order was several times, where EVERYONE IN OUR PARTY WAS DONE EATING by the time we got it. Really this was way too much effort and the oreo fluff wasn't that great. I think this place is forgettable, and when something goes wrong, the staff don't care, AND they up charge for larger sizes which the serving is the same as a cheaper size. If you go, GET THE CUP - NOT A BOWL. You will pay half the cost for novelty food that you won't ever think about going back to. read more

I have loved this place since it has opened up. I have told all of my friends to come here to experience Korean desserts. I'm usually a fan of their shave ice. However, on my last visit, I order what I always order and was severely disappointed. I got my usually mango shave ice. And what I got instead was a shave ice with canned peach slices. First off, they should have disclosed that they ran out of mango and would be using canned peaches. If that was the case, I would have ordered a different flavor. With kind customer service and a clean environment, T-Town offers lots of yummy treats you can only find here or farther North in Seattle. I tried the red bean and Nutella taiyaki and was not disappointed! My sister and I were able to have a great tea time together with these yummy prepared treats by their friendly staff. My favorite is vanilla and green tea swirl. I also tried the loaded fries with bulgogi and spicy pork. Prices are reasonable and its great for families or as a chill date night spot. Expect a wait! This place has gone down hill for over a year now and it's really sad. I loved T-town and recommended it to many friends and family after my 10 yrs of being in Tacoma. For over a year now (check the reviews smh) the customer service at this cafe has been overwhelmingly awful because of the owner and workers attitudes with customers and refusing DOZENS of times to remake orders they made incorrectly or refused giving refunds for their own mistakes. Customer service is important and it doesn't matter how many fun treats you have if you treat all your customers like total shit. There's so many reviews saying the same thing: they made their order incorrectly or refused to give refunds, were extremely rude, gaslit and BLAMED the customers for the workers mistakes. Me and my sister had the same issue today.. after watching the owner lady blame a muslim girl for THEM making a mistake and almost feeding her pork (I would cry if I was still vegan and bit into pork, let alone it being an important part of your religion) my sister and I dealt with the same rude manager, there was a misunderstanding and the owner ran up to us slammed her hands on the table and proceeded to yell at us about another one of THEIR mistakes. After over a YEAR of messing up orders, refusing to remake items and refusing to give refunds I'm surprised how hostile the owner continues to be to the customers. I liked T-town a lot but we will not be coming here anymore or recommending it to anyone. Even though there's been an OBVIOUS decline in the number of customers, I'm surprised the business hasn't closed with over a year of unsatisfied and disrespected customers. All the employees have also left probably from being tired of apologizing for their rude managers. When I read this cafe had a beef bulgogi sandwich and bulgogi cheese fries, I knew I had to stop in. Neither disappointed! I shared both items for lunch and still ended up taking 1/3 of the fries home. We really wanted to try the snowflake with fruit mix, but we were too full. While I agree with others that this place is indeed a hidden gem, I would not recommend this place as your quick on-the-go cafe. Hubby and I came here to order a strawberry Italian soda and cheese tonkatsu to go, but as we ordered we saw the register table filled with a long assembly of receipts. This place gets really really busy, especially at night, mostly with students and older people just hanging out here and socializing. But to wait 45 minutes for a small meal and a drink to go is ridiculous. I support local businesses, especially one that is family owned, but if I may suggest, they hire another cook working in the back----from what I recall, I think it is only the husband and wife acting as the cooks for this cafe, but for the rising popularity of this business, they really need to fill their team with more people. First off. Let me start by saying that I REALLY wanted to like this place. I want to see Tacoma shine and do well. I have nothing but love for Tacoma. So seeing a cafe try and bring the trendy desserts found in South Korea and even Koreatown LA, I was pretty ecstatic for the people of the real 253. I visited home recently (I live in koreatown LA) and tried this place. I came with a group of 7. We ordered Oreo shaved ice, 4-5 bobas and an iced americano or something like that. The shaved ice was very chalky and dry. It lacked condensed milk and they don't give you a side of condensed milk to pour around it. They were somewhat busy, so I'll just make the assumption that it's better on a slower day. As for the bobas/bubble teas, the turn around time for these were pretty slow. One by one they came out. By the time we got all of them, we were done with the shaved ice and 2 people were nearly finished. It seems like they only have one blender? One criticism I heard from my friend who got boba, complained you guys don't have the plastic lid machine for your bubble tea drinks. It's only the dome lids. Because of that, you can't shake your drink and all the tapioca is stuck on the bottom. If the people who own this establishment read this. Please consider a few things. 1. I'm gonna assume you're a family own business relying on family to work. I can relate to that and won't knock your hustle, but if you're going to serve the trendy stuff, you're gonna get a rush of customers randomly, and at other times, all at once. Hire some help to increase your turn around time for orders. 2. Invest in an extra blender or two. Once again, increase the turn around time. 3. Please please please invest in a paid account for Spotify/pandora or whatever you're using to stream music. I've been wanting to try out this spot after looking at the photos and because I love ice cream with taiyaki and hotteok. I ordered the taiyaki ice cream with red bean filling, vanilla soft serve (they ran out of mango and ube ice cream), and strawberry and pocky toppings for $6.32 (tax included). When it came out, I was disappointed at how it looked - it looked very sad. There were 3 very small slices of strawberry and a single piece of pocky for the toppings. In other photos, the taiyaki ice cream looked amazing and extravagant. The taiyaki seemed as if it was pre made because it was not warm or crunchy. It had little red bean filling inside just enough to coat the inside. Overall, I was very disappointed at how it came out, but the taste was good because you can't really go wrong with ice cream and taiyaki. Service could have been better. I asked to sample the soft serve and they were nice about it. I sampled the mango and ube and it was just not what I was expecting. The Ube tasted like what gas smells like and the texture resembles that of a cheap Chinese buffet restaurant style soft serve. I was expecting soft serve similar to somi somi but even McDonald's has better soft serve. I've ordered the cheesy corn dog twice now because the first time I thought it was a mess up that their was only like 1/4 of a hot dog in the center, but the second time it was the same haha. Warm and inviting, this chic little cafe offers incredible desserts that's unique and uncommon around these parts. They offer an amped up shave ice, they call it 'snowflake' because of the incredibly soft ice.
