I was in San Leandro on one of the hottest days of the year. I needed to cool off, and this T4 happened to be the first drink place open at 11 AM. There was a mini line since it was the only drink place open at that moment. After studying the menu I decided on Grapefruit Royal Tea with Aloe. However, they were out of Royal Tea at that time (probably still brewing it at that hour), so I opted for a Lychee Black Tea with Aloe. After a few minutes I got my drink. T4 is one of my Favorite Tea joints! This locations tends to be always super busy but they move fast. The vibe is good they are always on top of orders. My drink of choice here is the Ophelia Rose with rainbow jelly so dang yummy. They are very consistant with the ice and sweetness never had an issue like other tea places. The food is ok i get the chicken but only when im in need of a snack . Parking is always packed so you might have to park a little far away. I think T4's claim to fame is definitely their fried silken tofu, but the drinks I've had there just haven't made me want to go back regularly. it's good for the area, but the service is tiresome because the waitresses never act like they're even remotely happy to have customers. The plaza that T4 is located in always seems to be bustling and busy, and parking is a nightmare even with a private lot. The interior is pretty spacious and clean, and I'm a fan of their order sticker system, where each drink has a sticker that says what the drink order is, how much sweetness was ordered, and how much ice is desired. Finally a decent boba joint around the San Lorenzo area. Before this place opened, I've always had to make the drive to Union City or Fremont for good milk teas. Now, I can go whenever I want! The place is super simple and clean. There are a few tables and chairs placed around. There's one TV in the corner, normally with a movie on. On the right side, there's a sign that says Tea For U and Taiwan For U. I thought that was pretty funny and cute. As mentioned before, the drinks here are pretty damn good. They blow the nearby competition out of the water. They have a pretty extensive menu with quite a few unique options such as Perilla Plum Oolong Tea and the Rose Royal Tea. If you're not sure what to get, they have stars next to their top 10 drinks. Like many other new tea shops nowadays, you have the option to customize your drink. Sweetness: Standard, 50%, 30%, 0% Ice: More, Standard, 80%, 30%, 0% I've tried both the normal milk tea (earl grey) and the jasmine milk tea with the mixed pearls. I must say, their boba here is amazing; it's probably one of the best I've tasted before, especially the mini-boba. Their jasmine with cream is also really good, and they give you a cute little knife to cut the lid too. The Honey Peach Royal Tea is good and refreshing, but I'd recommend to get 80 or 50% sweetness. Prices run from ~$3-4 depending on the drink with most drinks around $3.50 for the regular. It's an extra $0.50 for add-ons - I recommend the boba or grass jelly. Upgrading to large is another $0.50. Overall, I'll definitely be back here. My mom and brother also love this place, and since it's so close, why the hell not. Great to see T4 chose San Leandro as the spot of their first US location. A popular franchise in Asia, especially Taiwan, yesterday's consistent crowd on a Tuesday night shows that it is becoming popular here as well. You can to choose your preference as to how you want your drink sweetness wise and level of ice wise with the exception of the smoothies where you can only choose your desired sweetness. I will probably ask in the future if I can do 80% ice on the smoothies though as both came out a bit too cold giving us a brain freeze. Passion Fruit Smoothie does come with the seeds,so the standard 100% sweetness (does not mean 100% sugar but the % of their normal sweetness for that drink) is fine since passion fruit is on the more tart side Lychee Smoothie with 80% sweetness - Again the 80% sweetness was sweet enough...100% would've probably been too much as it came with I think the fig jelly in it French Pudding Milk Tea with 50% sweetness - Surprisingly this was sweet enough even though the french pudding itself isn't that sweet on its own. Price - The price point right now is very reasonable with drinks between $2.75-$3.75 for regular and a large is only 50 cents more. Atmosphere - Has tables and booths so great to just hang out with friends catching up or to bring your laptop. Although once it gets busy, it is hard to find a table. There is currently a Fremont location that opened since and I believe they are working on one in Dublin and possibly the Peninsula. Update: Been here 3 days in a row now and found my drink and combo of choice now - House Grass Jelly which is super smooth grass jelly with 80% sweetness and 30% ice. Since grass jelly doesn't have much "flavor", it needs some sweetness to it. As another Yelper mentioned, happy hour is 9PM where everything is $2.50. If you want a large drink, it is still a 50 cent upgrade on top of the $2.50 and they do not give punches on the frequent buyer card during happy hour which is fine with me. read more

Normally I go to T4 for my basic drinks because it's good and very affordable pricing. Today I ordered a rose milk tea, and I noticed people on Yelp said they misheard their drink so I took note of that. And for me, it was no difference - a rose milk tea regular because an oolong milk tea large. I told the guy after checking the receipt and then when I got the drink it came out as regular. Still a great boba experience, as I'm officially obsessed with the ballet chocolate milk with pearl, 80% sweetness with no ice (while I'll take ice with any other cold drink, it ends up really cutting into how much of the drink you get and it gets in the way of the boba at the bottom when you're done). However, when I went to redeem my point card for my free boba, I still had to pay $1.40 for my drink because I ordered a large. Really guys? Like it would kill you to not get that extra buck and a half for the free drink that I spent nearly $50 to get in the first place? Especially when I order a large drink every time anyway! I missed the grand opening :( Anywho, today was my firts time here and I was happy to see that it was empty. Establishments like this tend to be packed. I like how you can select the level of sugar and ice ranging from 0%, 30%, 50%, 80% to 100%. Being able to adjust the level of sugar and ice makes your drink perfect. I got three passion fruit smoothies to go with sugar and ice of 30% and my milk tea with coconut jelly at the same percentage. I asked for a stamp card so I could get my four stamps for purchasing my drinks but they didn't have any. The service here is incredibly frustrating. I came here for a late night snack as I was really craving some popcorn chicken. My friend took me here a few days ago, and I absolutely LOVED IT! T4 is located in a little plaza so you won't need to worry too much about parking. The aqua interior is adorable! Go in, order at the counter, take your number, and wait. The fried string beans I ordered were just alright. However, my pearl green milk tea was awesome! This is the first boba joint I've been to that allows you to customize your ice and sweetness so specifically (50%, 30%, etc.). Also, the green milk tea tastes like the one I usually get at my favorite boba place in Taiwan, 50嵐. Price of drinks is comparable to quickly, but the quality is MUCH better! If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I come here at least once a month and I will admit the drinks are good and never really disappoint but what gets me is the service. The cashier and workers are very rude. They have no sense of customer service and always have attitude. Today the cashier was a lady with short-shoulder length hair and I've dealt with her before and everytime I'm there she is very rude and her tone is very aggressive. That wasn't the only problem I saw. The cashier also handled the toppings and went from touching dirty screens, money, and coins to putting toppings into cups. This t4 is definitely better than the I-tea across the street. My bf and I are really addicted to the roasted oolong milk tea with 80 % sweetness and standard ice. Add in pudding and boba and you got yourself a superb drink. Sometimes we opt the boba and get grass jelly. I love the fact that they are consistent with their drinks, and that every time I get 80%, it taste the same. They have tons of snacks and happy hour too that starts at 9pm. Popcorn chicken is good but they don't season it for you. You have to shake the chili powder in yourself. The egg puffs aren't flavorful and soggy. I would skip out on that next time. I repeated "hot jasmine milk tea" so many times to the lady at the register and she didn't pay attention. Bad customer service and poor quality of food. We ordered curry stew beef bento. There are only 3 pieces of small beef stew and they are not tender. The curry sauce is watery. TL;DR: no more Happy Hour, not well kept, bring it back to what it was I'll keep this review short because of my experience here. I've gone to this T4 location for years now and I just went for the first time in a while. The quality of the shop has gone down immensely, so far to the point where I feel like it's not even worth it to go. As dumb as it sounds, I wish it reverted to how it used to be when it was more popular. I first take issue with the fact that they removed Happy Hour. In the past, they had a Happy Hour from 8-11 PM every day, during which they would sell most menu items for a reduced price. This was a huge incentive to come in and I would often go out of my way to go to it. It makes no sense to remove it. I would understand reducing the hours or days, but completely taking it out was too much. Second, they don't use FiveStar anymore, let alone any rewards program. Maybe they removed it on a business standpoint, but I had a reward waiting and I'm disappointed I can't redeem it. Before, I used to rack up points and use them often. Since many boba shops don't use a reward system, that's definitely not the worst of their flaws. When I went in, it was fairly empty. I didn't see any board games available and it was pretty dead. The place itself was not maintained well and actually dirty in some areas. I would say save your time and get boba elsewhere in the area. You definitely aren't lacking options. So far so good. Second time visiting this place. First time I ordered a regular size Earl Grey milk tea with pudding and dumplings in a red chili sauce which were delish! A little messy because of the chili oil, so be careful (don't wear you're Sunday's best). Over the years, this location hasn't kept up with cleanliness. When first walking in, you're assaulted with a damp smell that doesn't go away even after spending some time here. This location seems severely understaffed, considering this is experiences high volume and high traffic. The staff works very fast, but not with efficiency. The tea itself was good enough and I liked that the drink was not overly sweet, even though I got regular sugar, but I would not get this drink again. I also ordered the Popcorn chicken which I really liked and would recommend. The chicken is juicy and tender and the fried batter is thick and crispy. The ratio of chicken to batter is 1:3 which is the best. However, the drink and the chicken did not go together as well as I intended. Seen a lot of bad reviews on the service - I don't necessarily believe the service is bad, but it's definitely not why people come here. New favorite drink - white almond tea. It's really amazing how smooth the drink is, not too sweet and pairs perfectly well with their boba. It might be amongst the best drinks I've had anywhere period. You will not regret it, especially if you go during happy hour with 20% off. And if almond is not your thing, there's always the Roasted Oolong milk tea, which has great depth of flavor and my go to drink normally. Okinawa is not bad either if the toasted brown sugar flavor profile is your cup of tea. This T4 seemed like the best boba option given how close it was to Dynasty Pot, but I probably should have waited until I was back in downtown Oakland to get One Zo, Royaltea, iTea, heck, even Quickly. While the place seems to get a lot of traffic, their boba is no bueno. It's not quite as bad as the places that have boba that sticks to the sides of your straws, but it's dangerously close. The jasmine milk tea I got was fine, but the boba? Sadness. Also, not sure about the customer service here either. My friend ordered something with classic cream, but they gave her coconut cream. She's not allergic to it, but just doesn't like it. When she brought it up to the staff behind the counter, one woman looked her straight in the eye and said, "Well, do you want to try it?" My friend immediately said, "No, thank you," and requested that they remake the drink. They seemed reluctant at first, but eventually remade it.
